ABSTRACT

In the paper, a Frattini-like subgroup associated with a class 𝔛 of simple groups is introduced and analyzed. The corresponding 𝔛-saturated formations are exactly the 𝔛-local ones introduced by Förster. Our techniques are also useful to highlight the properties and behavior of ω-local formations. In fact, extensions and improvements of several results of Shemetkov are natural consequences of our study.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper we consider a semilinear heat equation (in a bounded domain Ω of ? N ) with a nonlinearity that has a superlinear growth at infinity. We prove the existence of a control, with support in an open set ω ? Ω, that insensitizes the L 2 ? norm of the observation of the solution in another open subset 𝒪 ? Ω when ω ∩ 𝒪 ≠ ?, under suitable assumptions on the nonlinear term f(y) and the right hand side term ξ of the equation. The proof, involving global Carleman estimates and regularizing properties of the heat equation, relies on the sharp study of a similar linearized problem and an appropriate fixed-point argument. For certain superlinear nonlinearities, we also prove an insensitivity result of a negative nature. The crucial point in this paper is the technique of construction of L r -controls (r large enough) starting from insensitizing controls in L 2.  相似文献

If R is an integral domain, let be the class of torsion free completely decomposable R-modules of finite rank. Denote by the class of those torsion-free R-modules A such that A is a homomorphic image of some C ? , and let 𝒫 be the class of R-modules K such that K is a pure submodule of some C ? . Further, let Q and Q 𝒫 be the respective closures of and 𝒫 under quasi-isomorphism. In this article, it is shown that if R is a Prüfer domain, then Q  = Q 𝒫, and  = 𝒫 in the special case when R is h-local. Also, if R is an h-local Prüfer domain and if C ?  has a linearly ordered typeset, it is established that all pure submodules and all torsion-free homomorphic images of C are themselves completely decomposable. Finally, as an application of these results, we prove that if R is an h-local Prüfer domain, then  = Q  = Q 𝒫 = 𝒫 if and only if R is almost maximal.  相似文献

A formation 𝔉 of finite groups has the generalized Wielandt property for residuals, or 𝔉 is a GWP-formation, if the 𝔉-residual of a group generated by two 𝔉-subnormal subgroups is the subgroup generated by their 𝔉-residuals. The main aim of the paper is to determine some su?cient conditions for a finite group to split over its 𝔉-residual.  相似文献

Abstract

Let 𝒜 and ? be two Grothendieck categories, R : 𝒜 → ?, L : ? → 𝒜 a pair of adjoint functors, S ∈ ? a generator, and U = L(S). U defines a hereditary torsion class in 𝒜, which is carried by L, under suitable hypotheses, into a hereditary torsion class in ?. We investigate necessary and sufficient conditions which assure that the functors R and L induce equivalences between the quotient categories of 𝒜 and ? modulo these torsion classes. Applications to generalized module categories, rings with local units and group graded rings are also given here.  相似文献

Abstract

Let (R, 𝔪) be a Noetherian local ring and let Ibe an R-ideal. Inspired by the work of Hübl and Huneke, we look for conditions that guarantee the Cohen-Macaulayness of the special fiber ring ? = ?/𝔪? of I, where ? denotes the Rees algebra of I. Our key idea is to require ‘good’ intersection properties as well as ‘few’ homogeneous generating relations in low degrees. In particular, if Iis a strongly Cohen-Macaulay R-ideal with G ?and the expected reduction number, we conclude that ? is always Cohen-Macaulay. We also obtain a characterization of the Cohen-Macaulayness of ?/K? for any 𝔪-primary ideal K. This result recovers a well-known criterion of Valabrega and Valla whenever K = I. Furthermore, we study the relationship between the Cohen-Macaulay property of the special fiber ring ? and the Cohen-Macaulay property of the Rees algebra ? and the associated graded ring 𝒢 of I. Finally, we focus on the integral closedness of 𝔪I. The latter question is motivated by the theory of evolutions.  相似文献

Abstract

A position dependent random map is a dynamical system consisting of a collection of maps such that, at each iteration, a selection of a map is made randomly by means of probabilities which are functions of position. Let f* be an invariant density of the position dependent random map T. We consider a model of small random perturbations 𝔗? of the random map T. For each ? > 0, 𝔗? has an invariant density function f ?. We prove that f ? → f* as ? → 0.  相似文献

A smooth algebraic surface S is said to be isogenous to a product of unmixed type if there exist two smooth curves C, F and a finite group G, acting faithfully on both C and F and freely on their product, so that S = (C × F)/G. In this article, we classify the surfaces of general type with pg = q = 1 which are isogenous to an unmixed product, assuming that the group G is abelian. It turns out that they belong to four families, that we call surfaces of type I, II, III, IV. The moduli spaces 𝔐I, 𝔐II, 𝔐IV are irreducible, whereas 𝔐III is the disjoint union of two irreducible components. In the last section we start the analysis of the case where G is not abelian, by constructing several examples.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. A subgroup K of a group G is called an ?-subgroup of G if N G (K) ∩ K x  ≦ K for all x ? G. The set of all ?-subgroups of G will be denoted by ?(G). Let P be a nontrivial p-group. A chain of subgroups 1 = P 0 ? P 1 ? ··· ? P n  = P is called a maximal chain of P provided that |P i : P i?1| = p, i = 1, 2, ···, n. A nontrivial p-subgroup P of G is called weakly supersolvably embedded in G if P has a maximal chain 1 = P 0 ? P 1 ? ··· ? P i  ? ··· ? P n  = P such that P i  ? ?(G) for i = 1, 2, ···, n. Using the concept of weakly supersolvably embedded, we obtain new characterizations of p-nilpotent and supersolvable finite groups.  相似文献

A one-dimensional, Noetherian, local domain D with maximal ideal 𝔪 and finite residue field was known to be an almost strong Skolem ring if analytically irreducible. It was unknown whether this condition is necessary. We show that it is at least necessary for D to be unibranched. After introducing a general notion of equalizing ideal, we show that, for k large enough, the ideals of the form 𝔐 k, a  = {f ∈ Int(D) | f(a) ∈ 𝔪 k }, for a ∈ D, are distinct. This allows to show that the maximal ideals 𝔐 a  = {f ∈ Int(D) | f(a) ∈ 𝔪}, although not necessarily distinct, are never finitely generated.  相似文献

Abstract

The set 𝒩max (G, T) consisting of all maximal 2-local subgroups of G = Sym(n) which contain T, a Sylow 2-subgroup of G, is investigated. In addition to determining the structure of the subgroups in 𝒩max (G, T), the simplicial sets of maximal rank are classified.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let X = Spec(R) be a reduced equidimensional algebraic variety over an algebraically closed field k. Let Y = Spec(R/𝔮) be a codimension one ordinary multiple subvariety, where 𝔮 is a prime ideal of height 1 of R. If U is a nonempty open subset of Y and 𝔪 a closed point of U, we denote by A ? R 𝔪 its local ring in X, by 𝔭 the extension of 𝔮 in A, and by K the algebraic closure of the residue field k(𝔭).

Then there exists a bijection γ𝔪:Proj(G 𝔭(A) ?  A/𝔭 k) → Proj(G(A 𝔭) ?  k(𝔭)K) such that for every subset Σ of Proj(G 𝔭(A) ?  A/𝔭 k), the Hilbert function of Σ coincides with the Hilbert function of γ𝔪(Σ). We examine some applications. We study the structure of the tangent cone at a closed point of a codimension one ordinary multiple subvariety.  相似文献

Let 𝔉 be a class of groups and G a finite group. A maximal subgroup M of G is called 𝔉-abnormal provided GMG?𝔉. Let K<H be subgroup of G. Then we say that (K,H) is an 𝔉-abnormal pair of G provided K is a maximal 𝔉-abnormal subgroup of H. Let A be a subgroup of G. Then we say that A is 𝔉-quasipermutable in G provided A either covers or avoids every 𝔉-abnormal pair of G. In this paper, we consider some applications of 𝔉-quasipermutable subgroups.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper we calculate presentations for some natural monoids of transformations on a chain X n  = {1 < 2 <?s < n}. First we consider 𝒪𝒟 n [𝒫𝒪𝒟 n ], the monoid of all full [partial] transformations on X n that preserve or reverse the order. Two other monoids of partial transformations on X n we look at are 𝒫𝒪𝒫 n and 𝒫𝒪? n –-the elements of the first preserve the orientation and the elements of the second preserve or reverse the orientation.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group and ? a saturated formation of finite groups. We say that G is quasi-?-group if for every ?-eccentric chief factor H/K of G and every x ∈ G, x induces an inner automorphism on H/K. In particular, we have the concepts of quasisoluble, quasisupersoluble, quasimetanilpotent groups, and so on. In this article, we obtain some results about the quasi-?-groups and use them to give the conditions under which a group is quasisoluble, quasimetanilpotent, or quasisupersoluble.  相似文献

Let (R, m) be a Cohen–Macaulay local ring, and let ? = {F i } i∈? be an F 1-good filtration of ideals in R. If F 1 is m-primary we obtain sufficient conditions in order that the associated graded ring G(?) be Cohen–Macaulay. In the case where R is Gorenstein, we use the Cohen–Macaulay result to establish necessary and sufficient conditions for G(?) to be Gorenstein. We apply this result to the integral closure filtration ? associated to a monomial parameter ideal of a polynomial ring to give necessary and sufficient conditions for G(?) to be Gorenstein. Let (R, m) be a Gorenstein local ring, and let F 1 be an ideal with ht(F 1) = g > 0. If there exists a reduction J of ? with μ(J) = g and reduction number u: = r J (?), we prove that the extended Rees algebra R′(?) is quasi-Gorenstein with a-invariant b if and only if J n : F u  = F n+b?u+g?1 for every n ∈ ?. Furthermore, if G(?) is Cohen–Macaulay, then the maximal degree of a homogeneous minimal generator of the canonical module ω G(?) is at most g and that of the canonical module ω R′(?) is at most g ? 1; moreover, R′(?) is Gorenstein if and only if J u : F u  = F u . We illustrate with various examples cases where G(?) is or is not Gorenstein.  相似文献
