Let T(X) be the full transformation semigroup on the set X and let T(X,Y) be the semigroup consisting of all total transformations from X into a fixed subset Y of X. It is known that $$F(X, Y)=\{\alpha\in T(X, Y): X\alpha\subseteq Y\alpha\},$$ is the largest regular subsemigroup of T(X,Y) and determines Green??s relations on T(X,Y). In this paper, we show that F(X,Y)?T(Z) if and only if X=Y and |Y|=|Z|; or |Y|=1=|Z|, and prove that every regular semigroup S can be embedded in F(S 1,S). Then we describe Green??s relations and ideals of F(X,Y) and apply these results to get all of its maximal regular subsemigroups when Y is a nonempty finite subset of X.  相似文献

Let I be an ideal of a ring R. We say that R is a generalized I-stable ring provided that aR+bR=R with a?∈?1+I,b?∈?R implies that there exists a y?∈?R such that a+by?∈?K(R), where K(R)={x?∈?R?∣?? s, t?∈?R such that sxt=1}. Let R be a generalized I-stable ring. Then every A?∈?GLn (I) is the product of 13n?12 simple matrices. Furthermore, we prove that A is the product of n simple matrices if I has stable rank one. This generalizes the results of Vaserstein and Wheland on rings having stable rank one.  相似文献

The main results proved in this paper are:

1. For any non-zero vector space V Dover a division ring D, the ring R= End(V D) is hopfian as a ring

Then Ris an exchange ring if &; only if Xis zero dimensional in the sense of Katetov. for any infinite compact totally disconnected space X C(X) is an exchange ring which is not von Neumann regular.

4. Let Rbe a reduced commutative exchange ring. If Ris hopfian so is the polynomial ring R[T 1,…,T n] in ncommuting indeterminates over Rwhere nis any integer ≥ 1.

Let V be a vector space, V* its dual space and L(V) the algebra of all linear operators on V. When R is singly generated R″ is described precisely. In 2006, Sanwong and Sullivan described the maximal congruences on the semigroup N consisting of all non-negative integers under standard multiplication, and on the semigroup T(X) consisting of all total transformations of an infinite set X under composition. Here, we determine all maximal congruences on the semigroup Zn under multiplication modulo n. And, when Y lohtain in X, we do the same for the semigroup T(X, Y) consisting of all elements of T(X) whose range is contained in Y. We also characterise the minimal congruences on T(X. Y).  相似文献

Denote by T(X) the semigroup of full transformations on a set X. For εT(X), the centralizer of ε is a subsemigroup of T(X) defined by C(ε)={αT(X):αε=εα}. It is well known that C(id X )=T(X) is a regular semigroup. By a theorem proved by J.M. Howie in 1966, we know that if X is finite, then the subsemigroup generated by the idempotents of C(id X ) contains all non-invertible transformations in C(id X ).  相似文献

Let T = (T(t))t≥0 be a bounded C-regularized semigroup generated by A on a Banach space X and R(C) be dense in X. We show that if there is a dense subspace Y of X such that for every x ∈ Y, σu(A, Cx), the set of all points λ ∈ iR to which (λ - A)^-1 Cx can not be extended holomorphically, is at most countable and σr(A) N iR = Ф, then T is stable. A stability result for the case of R(C) being non-dense is also given. Our results generalize the work on the stability of strongly continuous senfigroups.  相似文献

We determine the structure of semigroups that satisfy xyzw∈{xy,xw,zy,zw}. These semigroups are precisely those whose power semigroup is a generalised inflation of a band. The structure of generalised inflations of the following types of semigroups is determined: the direct product of a group and a band, a completely simple semigroup and a free semigroup F(X) on a set X. In the latter case the semigroup must be an inflation of F(X). We also prove that in any semigroup that equals its square, the power semigroup is a generalised inflation of a band if and only if it is an inflation of a band.  相似文献

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to characterize minimal overrings of an integrally closed domain R. We show that there exists a strong relationship between minimal overrings and the notion of ideal transforms. In particular, we prove that if T(M) = S(M) for each maximal ideal M, then there is a bijective correspondence between the set of invertible maximal ideals of R and the set of minimal overrings of R. This study enables us to produce several interesting applications concerning semi-local, Dedekind, Prüferian and Krull domains. Moreover, we investigate the spectrum of a minimal overring in comparison with the spectrum of R, and we determine whether the polynomial ring R[X 1, X 2,…, X n ] has a minimal overring.  相似文献

This article deals mainly with rings (with zerodivisors) in which regular Gaussian polynomials have locally principal contents. Precisely, we show that if (T,M) is a local ring which is not a field, D is a subring of T/M such that qf(D) = T/M, h: T → T/M is the canonical surjection and R = h ?1(D), then if T satisfies the property every regular Gaussian polynomial has locally principal content, then also R verifies the same property. We also show that if D is a Prüfer domain and T satisfies the property every Gaussian polynomial has locally principal content, then R satisfies the same property. The article includes a brief discussion of the scopes and limits of our result.  相似文献

Let T(X) be the full transformation semigroup on the set X and let T(X,Y) be the semigroup consisting of all total transformations from X into a fixed nonempty subset Y of X. In 2011, Sanwong studied the regular part $$F(X,Y)=\bigl\{\alpha\in T(X,Y): X\alpha\subseteq Y\alpha\bigr\}, $$ of T(X,Y) and described its Green’s relations and ideals. In this paper, we compute the rank of F(X,Y) when X is a finite set. Moreover, we obtain the rank and idempotent rank of its ideals.  相似文献

In this paper we prove some results concerning annihilators of power values of derivations in prime rings. The following main theorem establishes a unified version of several earlier results in the literature:Let R be a prime ring with center Z and with extended centroid C,Q, its two-sided Martindale quotient ring, ρ a nonzero right ideal of R and D a nonzero derivation of R.Suppose that aD([x,y])nZ (D([x,y])na ∈ Z) for all x,y∈ρ where aRand n is a fixed positive integer. Let R be a ring. R is left coherent if each of its finitely generated left ideals is finitely presented. R is called left generalized morphic if for every element a in R, l(a) = Rb for some b ∈ R, where l(a) denotes the left annihilator of a in R. The main aim of this article is to investigate the coherence and the generalized morphic property of the upper triangular matrix ring T n (R) (n ≥ 1). It is shown that R is left coherent if and only if T n (R) is left coherent for each n ≥ 1 if and only if T n (R) is left coherent for some n ≥ 1. And an equivalent condition is obtained for T n (R) to be left generalized morphic. Moreover, it is proved that R is left coherent and left Bézout if and only if T n (R) is left generalized morphic for each n ≥ 1.  相似文献

We obtain an existence result for global solutions to initial-value problems for Riccati equations of the form R′(t) + TR(t) + R(t)T = Tρ A(t)T1?ρ + Tρ B(t)T1?ρ R(t) + R(t)TρC(t) T1?ρ + R(t)TρD(t)T1?ρ R(t), R(0)=R0, where 0 ? ρ ? 1 and where the functions R and A through D take on values in the cone of non-negative bounded linear operators on L1 (0, W; μ). T is an unbounded multiplication operator. This problem is of particular interest in case ρ = 1 since it arisess in the theories of particle transport and radiative transfer in a slab. However, in this case there are some serious difficulties associated with this equation, which lead us to define a solution for the case ρ = 1 as the limit of solutions for the cases 0 < ρ < 1.  相似文献
