We show that the multiplication algebra of a nondegenerate Jordan algebra is a semiprime algebra.

In this article, we give the derivation algebra Der ? and the automorphism group Aut ? of the twisted Heisenberg–Virasoro algebra ?.     

Parafermion vertex operator algebras

This paper reviews some recent results on the parafermion vertex operator algebra associated to the integrable highest weight module L(k, 0) of positive integer level k for any affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra ĝ, where g is a finite dimensional simple Lie algebra. In particular, the generators and the C ₂-cofiniteness of the parafermion vertex operator algebras are discussed. A proof of the well-known fact that the parafermion vertex operator algebra can be realized as the commutant of a lattice vertex operator algebra in L(k, 0) is also given.     

On v-closed manis valution rings

ABSTRACT

The graded Lie algebra L associated to the Nottingham group with respect to its natural filtration is known to be a loop algebra of the first Witt algebra W ₁ . The fact that the Schur multiplier of W ₁ , in characteristic p > 3, is one-dimensional implies that L is not finitely presented. Consider the universal covering ? ₁ of W ₁ and the corresponding loop algebra M of ? ₁ . In this paper we prove that M itself is finitely presented for p > 3. In characteristic p >  11 the algebra M turns out to be presented by two relations.     

Almost distributive sublattices and congruence heredity

A congruence lattice L of an algebra A is hereditary if every 0-1 sublattice of L is the congruence lattice of an algebra on A. Suppose that L is a finite lattice obtained from a distributive lattice by doubling a convex subset. We prove that every congruence lattice of a finite algebra isomorphic to L is hereditary. Lie algebra of formal vector fields which are extended by formal g-valued functions

In this paper, we consider the infinite-dimensional Lie algebra W_n⋉g⊗O _n of formal vector fields on the n-dimensional plane which is extended by formal g-valued functions of n variables. Here g is an arbitrary Lie algebra. We show that the cochain complex of this Lie algebra is quasi-isomorphic to the quotient of the Weyl algebra of (gl _n ⊕ g) by the (2n+1)st term of the standard filtration. We consider separately the case of a reductive Lie algebra g. We show how one can use the methods of formal geometry to construct characteristic classes of bundles. For every G-bundle on an n-dimensional complex manifold, we construct a natural homomorphism from the ring A of relative cohomologies of the Lie algebra W_n⋉g⊗O _n to the ring of cohomologies of the manifold. We show that generators of the ring A are mapped under this homomorphism to characteristic classes of tangent and G-bundles. Some remarks on dualisability and endodualisability

The fundamental problem of dualisability and the particular problem of endodualisability are discussed. It is proved tha every finite generating algebra of a quasi-variety generated by a finite dualisable algebra D is also dualisable. The corresponding result for endodualisability is true when D is subdirectly irreducible. Under special conditions, it is also proved that a finite algebra M is endodualisable if and only if any finite power M ⁿ of M is endodualisable. Full dualisability is independent of the generating algebra

Given a full duality based on a finite algebra M, we show how to create a full duality based on any other finite algebra N for which \mathbbISP(M) = \mathbbISP(N){\mathbb{ISP}({\bf M}) = \mathbb{ISP}({\bf N})}. So the full dualisability of a quasivariety is independent of the algebra chosen as the generator. We obtain this result by proving the corresponding result for multisorted full dualities.     

Leibniz algebras constructed by Witt algebras

ABSTRACT

We describe infinite-dimensional Leibniz algebras whose associated Lie algebra is the Witt algebra and we prove the triviality of low-dimensional Leibniz cohomology groups of the Witt algebra with the coefficients in itself.     

Finitely Deep Matrices

In the algebraic study of deep matrices ? _X () on a finite set of indices over a field, Christopher Kennedy has recently shown that there is a unique proper ideal  whose quotient is a central simple algebra. He showed that this ideal, which doesn't appear for infinite index sets, is itself a central simple algebra. In this article we extend the result to deep matrices with a finite set of 2 or more indices over an arbitrary coordinate algebra A, showing that when the coordinates are simple there is again such a unique proper ideal, and in general that the lattice of ideals of ? _X (A)/ and  are isomorphic to the lattice of ideals of the coordinate algebra A.     

Biderivations of the Galilean Conformal Algebra and their applications

Abstract

In this paper, the biderivations of the Galiean conformal algebra are determined. As an application, the forms of the commutative post-Lie algebra structures on the Galiean conformal algebra are obtained.     

On Serre's Problem for RIT Algebras

Abstract

We construct a counterexample to Serre's problem for over a RIT algebra, which is a noncommutative quadratic algebra, given by quadratic relations, more general than the relations of the Weyl algebra and of a universal enveloping of finite dimensional Lie algebra.

Abstract

A Boolean algebra is the algebraic version of a field of sets. The complex algebra C(B) of a Boolean algebra B is defined over the power set of B; it is a field of sets with extra operations. The notion of a second-order Boolean algebra is intended to be the algebraic version of the complex algebra of a Boolean algebra. To this end a representation theorem is proved.     

The Coradical Filtration for Drinfeld Double Ringel-Hall Algebras

Abstract

Let 𝒟(Λ) be the Drinfeld double Ringel-Hall algebra with Λ being any finite dimensional hereditary algebra over a finite field k. We determine the coradical filtration for 𝒟(Λ). As an application, we describe the group of Hopf algebra automorphisms of the Drinfeld double Ringel composition algebra of Λ.     

THE FUNCTOR AND THE PROJECTIVITY AND INJECTIVITY OF RELATIVE HOPF MODULES

ABSTRACT

Let H be a Hopf algebra over a field k, and A a commutative right H-comodule algebra. This paper is concerned with homological algebra for Hopf modules. We investigate the projectivity, injectivity, and minimal injective resolutions of relative Hopf modules by using the functor HOM.     

QUOTIENTS OF 2-SUMMING ALGEBRAS

Abstract

A result of A.M. Mantero and A. Tonge is strengthened by giving an example of a commutative operator algebra which is semisimple but which is not the quotient algebra of a 2-summing Banach algebra by a closed ideal.     

Manifolds modelled over free modules over the double numbers

Manifolds over the algebra of double numbers, which include the case of manifolds equipped with a pair of equidimensional supplementary foliations, are studied. To this end, B-holomorphic functions and B-analytic functions on B ⁿ, where B denotes the algebra of double numbers, are defined and studied. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Triangular Decomposition of Composition Algebras of Domestic Canonical Algebras

Let A be a domestic canonical algebra over a finite field. In this article, we prove that the composition algebra C(A) of A has a triangular decomposition 𝒫·𝒯·? corresponding to the division of the indecomposable modules into the preprojectives, the regulars, and the preinjectives.     

Generating primitive positive clones

Suppose is a set of operations on a finite set A. Define PPC() to be the smallest primitive positive clone on A containing . For any finite algebra A, let PPC#(A) be the smallest number n for which PPC(CloA) = PPC(Clo _n A). S. Burris and R. Willard [2] conjectured that PPC#(A) ≤|A| when CloA is a primitive positive clone and |A| > 2. In this paper, we look at how large PPC#(A) can be when special conditions are placed on the finite algebra A. We show that PPC#(A) ≤|A| holds when the variety generated by A is congruence distributive, Abelian, or decidable. We also show that PPC#(A) ≤|A| + 2 if A generates a congruence permutable variety and every subalgebra of A is the product of a congruence neutral algebra and an Abelian algebra. Furthermore, we give an example in which PPC#(A) ≥|A| - 1)² so that these results are not vacuous. Received August 30, 1999; accepted in final form April 4, 2000.
