Let R be a commutative ring with identity. Various generalizations of prime ideals have been studied. For example, a proper ideal I of R is weakly prime (resp., almost prime) if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? {0} (resp., ab ∈ I ? I 2) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. Let φ:?(R) → ?(R) ∪ {?} be a function where ?(R) is the set of ideals of R. We call a proper ideal I of R a φ-prime ideal if a, b ∈ R with ab ∈ I ? φ(I) implies a ∈ I or b ∈ I. So taking φ?(J) = ? (resp., φ0(J) = 0, φ2(J) = J 2), a φ?-prime ideal (resp., φ0-prime ideal, φ2-prime ideal) is a prime ideal (resp., weakly prime ideal, almost prime ideal). We show that φ-prime ideals enjoy analogs of many of the properties of prime ideals.  相似文献

We denote by 𝒜(R) the class of all Artinian R-modules and by 𝒩(R) the class of all Noetherian R-modules. It is shown that 𝒜(R) ? 𝒩(R) (𝒩(R) ? 𝒜(R)) if and only if 𝒜(R/P) ? 𝒩(R/P) (𝒩(R/P) ? 𝒜(R/P)), for all centrally prime ideals P (i.e., ab ∈ P, a or b in the center of R, then a ∈ P or b ∈ P). Equivalently, if and only if 𝒜(R/P) ? 𝒩(R/P) (𝒩(R/P) ? 𝒜(R/P)) for all normal prime ideals P of R (i.e., ab ∈ P, a, b normalize R, then a ∈ P or b ∈ P). We observe that finitely embedded modules and Artinian modules coincide over Noetherian duo rings. Consequently, 𝒜(R) ? 𝒩(R) implies that 𝒩(R) = 𝒜(R), where R is a duo ring. For a ring R, we prove that 𝒩(R) = 𝒜(R) if and only if the coincidence in the title occurs. Finally, if Q is the quotient field of a discrete valuation domain R, it is shown that Q is the only R-module which is both α-atomic and β-critical for some ordinals α,β ≥ 1 and in fact α = β = 1.  相似文献

Let M be a module over a commutative ring R. A submodule P of M is called prime if P ≠ M and, whenever r ∈ R, e ∈ M, and re ∈ P, we have rM ? P or e ∈ P. We let Spec(M) denote the set of all prime submodules of M. Using a topology analogous to the Zariski topology for Spec(R), we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for Spec(M) to be a Noetherian space. We produce some examples of modules with Noetherian spectrum that have not appeared in the literature previously. In particular, Laskerian modules and faithfully flat modules over Laskerian rings have Noetherian spectra. (The term Laskerian is defined in Section 3.)  相似文献

Let R be a Noetherian ring and M be a finitely generated R-module. Let I(M) be the first nonzero Fitting ideal of M. The main result of this paper asserts that when I(M) = Q is a regular maximal ideal of R, then M?RQP, for some projective R-module P of constant rank if and only if T(M)?QM. As a consequence, it is shown that if M is an Artinian R-module and I(M) = Q is a regular maximal ideal of R, then M?RQ.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with identity 1, I(R) be the set of all nonunit idempotents in R, and M(R) be the set of all primitive idempotents and 0 of R. We say that I(R) is additive if for all e, f ∈ I(R) (e ≠ f), e + f ∈ I(R), and M(R) is additive in I(R) if for all e, f ∈ M(R)(e ≠ f), e + f ∈ I(R). In this article, the following points are shown: (1) I(R) is additive if and only if I(R) is multiplicative and the characteristic of R is 2; M(R) is additive in I(R) if and only if M(R) is orthogonal. If 0 ≠ ef ∈ I(R) for some e ∈ M(R) and f ∈ I(R), then ef ∈ M(R), (2) If R has a complete set of primitive idempotents, then R is a finite product of connected rings if and only if I(R) is multiplicative if and only if M(R) is additive in I(R).  相似文献

Let n≥1 be a fixed integer, R a prime ring with its right Martindale quotient ring Q, C the extended centroid, and L a non-central Lie ideal of R. If F is a generalized skew derivation of R such that (F(x)F(y)?yx)n = 0 for all x,yL, then char(R) = 2 and R?M2(C), the ring of 2×2 matrices over C.  相似文献

In this paper we show that a regular ring R is a generalized stable ring if and only if for every x ∈ R, there exist a w ∈ K(R) and a group G in R such that wx ∈ G. Also we show that if R is a generalized stable regular ring, then for any A ∈ M n (R), there exist right invertible matrices U 1, U 2 ∈ M n (R) and left invertible matrices V 1, V 2 ∈ M n (R) such that U 1 V 1 AU 2 V 2 = diag(e 1,…, e n ) for some idempotents e 1,…, e n  ∈ R.  相似文献

As generalizations of annihilators and associated primes, we introduce the notions of weak annihilators and weak associated primes, respectively. We first study the properties of the weak annihilator of a subset X in a ring R. We next investigate how the weak associated primes of a ring R behave under passage to the skew monoid ring R*M. Let R be a semicommutative ring, and M an ordered monoid and φ: M → Aut(R) a compatible monoid homomorphism. Then we can describe all weak associated primes of the skew monoid ring R*M in terms of the weak associated primes of R in a very straightforward way.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring and M be a nonzero R-module. Now Z(M) = {r ∈ R | rm = 0 for some 0 ≠ m ∈ M} is a union of prime ideals of R and T(M) = {m ∈ M | rm = 0 for some 0 ≠ r ∈ R} is a union of prime submodules of M if M ≠ T(M). We investigate representations of Z(M) and T(M) as unions of primes each of which is a union of annihilators.  相似文献

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to characterize minimal overrings of an integrally closed domain R. We show that there exists a strong relationship between minimal overrings and the notion of ideal transforms. In particular, we prove that if T(M) = S(M) for each maximal ideal M, then there is a bijective correspondence between the set of invertible maximal ideals of R and the set of minimal overrings of R. This study enables us to produce several interesting applications concerning semi-local, Dedekind, Prüferian and Krull domains. Moreover, we investigate the spectrum of a minimal overring in comparison with the spectrum of R, and we determine whether the polynomial ring R[X 1, X 2,…, X n ] has a minimal overring.  相似文献

Let (R, 𝔪) be a commutative, noetherian, local ring, E the injective hull of the residue field R/𝔪, and M ○○ = Hom R (Hom R (M, E), E) the bidual of an R-module M. We investigate the elements of Ass(M ○○) as well as those of Coatt(M) = {𝔭 ∈ Spec(R)|𝔭 = Ann R (Ann M (𝔭))} and provide criteria for equality in one of the two inclusions Ass(M) ? Ass(M ○○) ? Coatt(M). If R is a Nagata ring and M a minimax module, i.e., an extension of a finitely generated R-module by an artinian R-module, we show that Ass(M ○○) = Ass(M) ∪ {𝔭 ∈ Coatt(M)| R/𝔭 is incomplete}.  相似文献

Let R be an integral domain with quotient field K and integral closure R . Anderson and Zafrullah called R an “almost valuation domain” if for every nonzero x ∈ K, there is a positive integer n such that either x n  ∈ R or x ?n  ∈ R. In this article, we introduce a new closely related class of integral domains. We define a prime ideal P of R to be a “pseudo-strongly prime ideal” if, whenever x, y ∈ K and xyP ? P, then there is a positive integer m ≥ 1 such that either x m  ∈ R or y m P ? P. If each prime ideal of R is a pseudo-strongly prime ideal, then R is called a “pseudo-almost valuation domain” (PAVD). We show that the class of valuation domains, the class of pseudo-valuation domains, the class of almost valuation domains, and the class of almost pseudo-valuation domains are properly contained in the class of pseudo-almost valuation domains; also we show that the class of pseudo-almost valuation domains is properly contained in the class of quasilocal domains with linearly ordered prime ideals. Among the properties of PAVDs, we show that an integral domain R is a PAVD if and only if for every nonzero x ∈ K, there is a positive integer n ≥ 1 such that either x n  ∈ R or ax ?n  ∈ R for every nonunit a ∈ R. We show that pseudo-almost valuation domains are precisely the pullbacks of almost valuation domains, we characterize pseudo-almost valuation domains of the form D + M, and we use this characterization to construct PAVDs that are not almost valuation domains. We show that if R is a Noetherian PAVD, then R has Krull dimension at most one and R is a valuation domain; we show that every overring of a PAVD R is a PAVD iff R is a valuation domain and every integral overring of R is a PAVD.  相似文献

Abstract

Given a contravariant functor F : 𝒞 → 𝒮ets for some category 𝒞, we say that F (𝒞) (or F) is generated by a pair (X, x) where X is an object of 𝒞 and x ∈ F(X) if for any object Y of 𝒞 and any y ∈ F(Y), there is a morphism f : Y → X such that F(f)(x) = y. Furthermore, when Y = X and y = x, any f : X → X such that F(f)(x) = x is an automorphism of X, we say that F is minimally generated by (X, x). This paper shows that if the ring R is left noetherian, then there exists a minimal generator for the functor ?xt (?, M) : ? → 𝒮ets, where M is a left R-module and ? is the class (considered as full subcategory of left R-modules) of injective left R-modules.  相似文献

In this article, we call a ring R right generalized semiregular if for any a ∈ R there exist two left ideals P, L of R such that lr(a) = PL, where P ? Ra and Ra ∩ L is small in R. The class of generalized semiregular rings contains all semiregular rings and all AP-injective rings. Some properties of these rings are studied and some results about semiregular rings and AP-injective rings are extended. In addition, we call a ring R semi-π-regular if for any a ∈ R there exist a positive integer n and e 2 = e ∈ a n R such that (1 ? e)a n  ∈ J(R), the Jacobson radical of R. It is shown that a ring R is semi-π-regular if and only if R/J(R) is π-regular and idempotents can be lifted modulo J(R).  相似文献

A right cone H in a group G is a submonoid of G that generates G and aH ? bH for a, b ? H implies bH ? aH. With any right ideal I ≠ H of H a completely prime ideal P r (I) of H is associated and the set 𝒫(I) of right ideals I′ of H with the same associated prime ideal P′ =P r (I) is determined if P′·? P″ is a right invariant segment in H. The set 𝒫(I) is also described if P r (I) is a limit prime.  相似文献

Given an integral domain D with quotient field K, the ring of integer-valued polynomials on D is the subring {f(X) ∈ K[X]: f(D) ? D} of the polynomial ring K[X]. Using the tools of t-closure and associated primes, we generalize some known results on integer-valued polynomial rings over Krull domains, Prüfer v-multiplication domains, and Mori domains.  相似文献

An element a ∈ R is unit-regular provided that there exists an invertible u ∈ R such that a = aua. A ring R is called an almost unit-regular ring provided that for any a ∈ R, either a or 1 ? a is unit-regular. We characterize, in this article, the almost unit-regularity of Morita contexts with zero pairings. We also show that a ring R is unit-regular if and only if M 2(R) is almost unit-regular. Various examples of such rings are constructed by means of formal triangular matrix rings.  相似文献

Abstract

A ring R is called strongly stable if whenever aR + bR = R, there exists a w ∈ Q(R) such that a + bw ∈ U(R), where Q(R) = {x ∈ R ∣ ? e ? e 2 ∈ J(R), u ∈ U(R) such that x = eu}. These rings are shown to be a natural generalization of semilocal rings and unit regular rings. We investigate the extensions of strongly stable rings. K 1-groups of such rings are also studied. In this way we recover and extend some results of Menal and Moncasi.  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring which is not commutative, with maximal symmetric ring of quotients Q ms (R), and let τ be an anti-automorphism of R. An additive map δ: R → Q ms (R) is called a Jordan τ-derivation if δ(x 2) = δ(x)x τ + xδ(x) for all x ∈ R. A Jordan τ-derivation of R is called X-inner if it is of the form x → ax τ ? xa for x ∈ R, where a ∈ Q ms (R). It is proved that any Jordan τ-derivation of R is X-inner if either R is not a GPI-ring or R is a PI-ring except when charR = 2 and dim  C RC = 4, where C is the extended centroid of R.  相似文献
