FP-Injective and Weakly Quasi-Frobenius Rings

The classes of FP-injective and weakly quasi-Frobenius rings are investigated. The properties of both classes of rings are closely related to the embedding of finitely presented modules in fp-flat and free modules, respectively. Using these properties, we characterize the classes of coherent CF- and FGF-rings. Moreover, it is proved that the group ring R(G) is FP-injective (weakly quasi-Frobenius, respectively) if and only if the ring R is FP-injective (weakly quasi-Frobenius) and G is locally finite. Coherent Rings and Gorenstein FP-Injective Modules

In this article, Gorenstein FP-injective modules are introduced and investigated. A left R-module M is called Gorenstein FP-injective if there is an exact sequence … → E ₁ → E ₀ → E ⁰ → E ¹ → … of FP-injective left R-modules with M = ker(E ⁰ → E ¹) such that Hom _R (P, ?) leaves the sequence exact whenever P is a finitely presented left R-module with pd _R (P) < ∞. Some properties of Gorenstein FP-injective modules are obtained. Several well-known classes of rings are characterized in terms of Gorenstein FP-injective modules.     

New Characterizations of Quasi-Frobenius Rings

In this article, we give several new characterizations of Quasi-Frobenius rings by using mininjectivity, simple injectivity, and small injectivity, respectively. Several known results on Quasi-Frobenius rings are reproved as corollaries.     

Quasi-Frobenius Functors. Applications

We investigate functors between abelian categories having a left adjoint and a right adjoint that are similar (these functors are called quasi-Frobenius functors). We introduce the notion of a quasi-Frobenius bimodule and give a characterization of these bimodules in terms of quasi-Frobenius functors. Some applications to corings and graded rings are presented. In particular, the concept of quasi-Frobenius homomorphism of corings is introduced. Finally, a version of the endomorphism ring Theorem for quasi-Frobenius extensions in terms of corings is obtained.     

Rings Over Which Flat Covers of Finitely Generated Modules are Projective

We provide sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of normal forms of sequences of HNN extensions defined by Bokut′. Furthermore, we show that under an assumption, which holds for various applications, such normal forms always exist (but might not be unique). The conditions are amenable to be used in automatic theorem provers. We discuss also how to obtain a Gröbner–Shirshov basis from the rewrite rules of Bokut′ normal forms under certain assumptions. Finally, we provide an application drawn from a paper of Aanderaa and Cohen to illustrate the sufficiency conditions.     

Soc-Injective Rings and Modules*

If M and N are right R-modules, M is called Socle-N-injective (Soc-N-injective) if every R-homomorphism from the socle of N into M extends to N. Equivalently, for every semisimple submodule K of N, any R-homomorphism f : K → M extends to N. In this article, we investigate the notion of soc-injectivity.

Abstract

A ring R is called left P-injective if for every a ∈ R, aR = r(l(a)) where l( ? ) and r( ? ) denote left and right annihilators respectively. The ring R is called left GP-injective if for any 0 ≠ a ∈ R, there exists n > 0 such that a ⁿ  ≠ 0 and a ⁿ R = r(l(a ⁿ )). As a response to an open question on GP -injective rings, an example of a left GP-injective ring which is not left P-injective is given. It is also proved here that a ring R is left FP -injective if and only if every matrix ring 𝕄 _n (R) is left GP-injective.     

On Strongly Gorenstein FP-Injective Modules

This article continues to investigate a particular case of Gorenstein FP-injective modules, called strongly Gorenstein FP-injective modules. Some examples are given to show that strongly Gorenstein FP-injective modules lie strictly between FP-injective modules and Gorenstein FP-injective modules. Various results are developed, many extending known results in [1 Bennis , D. , Mahdou , N. ( 2007 ). Strongly Gorenstein projective, injective, and flat modules . J. Pure Appl. Algebra 210 : 437 – 445 .[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]]. We also characterize FC rings in terms of strongly Gorenstein FP-injective, projective, and flat modules.     

Bent Functions, Partial Difference Sets, and Quasi-Frobenius Local Rings

Bent functions andpartial difference sets have been constructed from finite principalideal local rings. In this paper, the constructions are generalizedto finite quasi-Frobenius local rings. Let R bea finite quasi-Frobenius local ring with maximal ideal M.Bent functions and certain partial difference sets on M } M are extended to R } R.

Envelopes and Covers by Modules of Finite FP-Injective Dimensions

Let R be a ring, n a fixed non-negative integer and ? the class of all left R-modules of FP-injective dimensions at most n. It is proved that all left R-modules over a left coherent ring R have ?-preenvelopes and ?-covers. Left (right) ?-resolutions and the left derived functors of Hom are used to study the FP-injective dimensions of modules and rings.     

Annihilator Properties of Skew Monoid Rings

Let R be a ring with an endomorphism σ and F ∪ {0} the free monoid generated by U = {u ₁,…, u _t } with 0 added, and M a factor of F setting certain monomial in U to 0, enough so that, for some n, M ⁿ  = 0. In this article, we study various annihilator properties and a variety of conditions and related properties that the skew monoid ring R[M; σ] is inherited from R.     

Generalized Inverses of Matrices over Rings

Let R be a ring, * be an involutory function of the set of all finite matrices over R. In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for a matrix to have a (1,3)-inverse, (1,4)-inverse, or Moore-P enrose inverse, relative to *. Some results about generalized inverses of matrices over division rings are generalized and improved.

FP-Injective Complexes

In this article, FP-injective complexes are introduced and studied. We prove that (^⊥??, ??) is a hereditary cotorsion theory if and only if R is a left coherent ring, where ?? denotes the class of all FP-injective complexes of left R-modules. Simultaneously, we study the existence of FP-injective preenvelopes and FP-injective covers.

On Gorenstein FP-Injective and Gorenstein Flat Complexes

In this article, the concept of Gorenstein FP-injective modules and some related known results are generalized to Gorenstein FP-injective complexes. Moreover, some new characterizations of Gorenstein flat complexes are given. It is also proved that every complex has a Gorenstein flat preenvelope over coherent rings with finite self-FP-injective dimension.

Quasi-Frobenius Rings and Nakayama Permutations of Semiperfect Rings

We say that is a ring with duality for simple modules, or simply a DSM-ring, if, for every simple right (left) -module U, the dual module U* is a simple left (right) -module. We prove that a semiperfect ring is a DSM-ring if and only if it admits a Nakayama permutation. We introduce the notion of a monomial ideal of a semiperfect ring and study the structure of hereditary semiperfect rings with monomial ideals. We consider perfect rings with monomial socles.
