In this paper, by means of a constructive method based on the theory of the existence and the uniqueness of the C1 solution to the Cauchy problem and the Goursat problem, the global exact boundary observability for the first‐order quasilinear hyperbolic systems of diagonal form with linearly degenerate characteristics is obtained. In the case that the system has no zero characteristics, we realize the two‐sided and one‐sided global exact boundary observability by the boundary observed values and obtain the observability inequality. In this paper, we obtain a sequence of approximate solution converging uniformly to the exact solution of a class of fourth‐order nonlinear boundary value problems. Its exact solution is represented in the form of series in the reproducing kernel space. The n‐term approximation un(x) is proved to converge to the exact solution u(x). Numerical approximations of Cahn-Hilliard phase-field model for the two-phase incompressible flows are considered in this paper.Several efficient and energy stable time discretization schemes for the coupled nonlinear Cahn-Hilliard phase-field system for both the matched density case and the variable density case are constructed,and are shown to satisfy discrete energy laws which are analogous to the continuous energy laws.  相似文献

We consider two quasi-electrostatic models in a multilayered piezoelectric structure. Both models only differ on the boundary conditions. For each one of them we prove a boundary observability inequality which together with the Hilbert Uniqueness Method introduced by J.L. Lions allow us to drive both systems to rest at time T with the same control function. We require suitable geometric conditions on the region and the interfaces as well as monotonicity assumptions on the coefficients of the model.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) methods for two‐dimensional nonlinear second‐order elliptic problems of the type uxx + uyy = f(x, y, u, ux, uy) , in a rectangular region Ω with classical boundary conditions on the boundary of Ω . Convergence properties for the solution and for the auxiliary variable that approximates its gradient are established. More specifically, we use the duality argument to prove that the errors between the LDG solutions and the exact solutions in the L2 norm achieve optimal (p + 1)th order convergence, when tensor product polynomials of degree at most p are used. Moreover, we prove that the gradient of the LDG solution is superclose with order p + 1 toward the gradient of Gauss–Radau projection of the exact solution. The results are valid in two space dimensions on Cartesian meshes using tensor product polynomials of degree p ≥ 1 , and for both mixed Dirichlet–Neumann and periodic boundary conditions. Preliminary numerical experiments indicate that our theoretical findings are optimal.  相似文献

Local exact controllability of the one‐dimensional NLS (subject to zero‐boundary conditions) with distributed control is shown to hold in a H1‐neighbourhood of the nonlinear ground state. The Hilbert Uniqueness Method (HUM), due to Lions, is applied to the linear control problem that arises by linearization around the ground state. The initial boundary value problem for linear elastodynamic system for viscoporous materials is considered. Exponential decay of solutions via the linear boundary feedback is established. We propose and analyze an application of a fully discrete C2 spline quadrature Petrov‐Galerkin method for spatial discretization of semi‐linear parabolic initial‐boundary value problems on rectangular domains. We prove second order in time and optimal order H1 norm convergence in space for the extrapolated Crank‐Nicolson quadrature Petrov‐Galerkin scheme. This paper is concerned with existence, uniqueness and behaviour of the solutions of the autonomous third‐order non‐linear differential equation f?+(m+2)f f″?(2m+1)f2=0 on ?+ with the boundary conditions f(0)=?γ, f′(∞)=0 and f″(0)=?1. This problem arises when looking for similarity solutions for boundary layer flows with prescribed heat flux.
