The problem of radiation defect accumulation modeling is considered. The analysis is carried out for models describing basic processes and phenomena taking place during crystal irradiation, namely the genetic defects of recharging and recombination, displacement defect formation and ionization, as well as the limitation of these processes by recombination and complex formation.  相似文献

This paper presents the effect of XeCl laser irradiation on Nd:YAG single crystal samples with various number of pulses at different repetition rates and laser fluences. Effects of the irradiation on the optical and structural properties of the crystal are analyzed by UV–vis-NIR spectroscopy. Annihilation of some point defects of the crystal structure is observed following laser irradiation at a fluence of 100 mJ cm−2 with 100 and 500 pulses. Increasing the laser fluence and pulse numbers leads to saturation and new defects are found to be formed in the crystal. Additional absorption spectra of the irradiated samples show that oxygen vacancies in the Nd:YAG crystals are removed during the low-dose irradiation. The laser irradiation is compared to the thermal annealing process for Nd:YAG crystal modification. Additional absorption spectrum of an annealed sample reveals that induced negative absorption band at 236 nm is correlated with the annihilation of the oxygen vacancy center. Our results also demonstrate that XeCl laser treatment has several advantages upon annealing at high temperatures in the Nd:YAG crystal quality improvement. Thus, the present work can give a new approach to modify Nd:YAG crystals to be used in a wide variety of solid-state laser engineering.  相似文献

Second-harmonic generation (SHG) in ferroelectric liquid crystal with a twist defect is studied by de Vries' solution. It is shown that the width of the photonic band gap for the SH wave is an important factor to determine the saturation length. SHG is effectively enhanced by using narrow photonic band gaps.  相似文献

研究了三种掺Yb钒酸盐晶体Yb:LuVO4,Yb:YVO4和Yb:GdVO4的激光振荡中所呈现的光学双稳态效应.以晶体所吸收的抽运功率表征的双稳区宽度ΔPabs可超过1W,在双稳区高功率一侧的边界,即激光振荡的上阈值点,出现激光输出功率的不连续变化或跃变,同时发生亚毫秒时间尺度上的大幅度强度涨落.谐振腔的输出耦合透过率、晶体长度、晶体中的热效应等对双稳态效应均具有重要影响.  相似文献

This paper presents a first comprehensive study on the pointing stability of copper vapor laser with an emphasis on bringing out the role of optical resonator. Long term (∼10 min), single pulse, far-field beam pointing stability of a 5.5 kHz repetition rate copper vapor laser (λ = 510 nm) with plane-plane, unstable and filtering resonators, is studied. It is established that the resonator optics largely decides the CVL pointing stability. Minimum beam pointing angle of 8 μrad from generalized diffraction filtered resonator (GDFR) is obtained in contrast to a maximum value of 120 μrad from the plane-plane resonator. The unstable resonators data is in between. The relative trends in CVL pointing stability are discussed in terms of wave-front distortions due to resonator mode build up from optical noise, thermal and mirror misalignment effects. The degree of optical resonator immunity to phase distortions dictates the net pointing stability achieved.  相似文献

Four Er-doped LiYF4 crystals with different Er-concentrations were grown by Czochralski method. The laser crystals were characterized by measurements of ICP-AES, XRD, absorption spectra, up-conversion fluorescence spectra, near-infrared (NIR) and mid-infrared (Mid-IR) fluorescence spectra, as well as luminescence decays. It was found that the heavily 15 at% Er-doped YLF crystal is more proper in up-conversion or ∼3 μm laser applications; while the 5 at% Er-doped YLF is a better candidate for ∼1.5 μm lasers within these four crystals.  相似文献

光子晶体的耦合缺陷模可以通过透射谱形状来表征,而透射谱形状则与连接缺陷的条形耦合波导相关.不同于直接耦合时信号相移只依赖于缺陷模的共振频率,当存在耦合波导时信号相移也决定于波导的长度和色散关系.随着波导长度的增加,透射谱形状发生从三峰到两峰,再到平项,最后又回到三峰的周期性变化.时间耦合模的分析表明,在缺陷模频率附近理论结果与时域有限差分法的计算结果完全一致,表明在此复杂情况下理论模型依然有效.  相似文献

A simple phenomenological model of the efficiency of accumulation of F centers in alkali halide crystals as affected by temperature and homologous cation impurity is considered. The conclusion is drawn that the temperature dependence is probably due to elastic interaction of primary Frenkel defects — F , H centres affecting their diffusion-controlled separation (similar to metals) whereas the impurity concentration dependence is due to the tunneling recombination of F , HA pairs.  相似文献

The effect of the anionic impurities OH, O 2 §- , and O2– on the optical stability of F-centers in KBr crystals was investigated. It is shown that the stability of F-centers is independent of the presence of hydroxyl ions (OH) and molecular oxygen ions (O 2 ) in the crystal lattice. The optical spectra of a five-level atom embedded in a photonic crystal are studied by considering the double-band photonic band gap reservoir with defect modes in the band gap. It is shown that some interesting phenomena such as absorption, transparency, normal or anomalous dispersion, and large amplification of a weak probe field can be observed by modulating system parameters.  相似文献

By studying laser diodes subject to multiple time-delayed optical feedback, we demonstrate that the signatures of time delays in the autocorrelation function of the laser output can be erased in systems incorporating modulated feedback time delays. This property enhances the suitability of such laser systems highly suitable for secure chaos-based communication systems. Chaos synchronization properties of a laser-based modulated multiple time-delayed system are also reported for the first time.  相似文献

Variations of nonequilibrium carriers' lifetime in ion implanted silicon and germanium single crystal plates are observed and studied by means of microwave photoconductivity. Sufficient changes are detected at a long distance of 1–10 mm from the region of direct action of an ion beam in the plate plane. Also investigated is the influence of pulsed laser annealing of the ion-implanted silicon and germanium surfaces on nonequilibrium carriers' lifetime. Discussed are the pronounced anisotropy of the sideways long-range effect of ion implantation and a possible mechanism of defect dynamics associated with the dislocation drift.  相似文献
