New mechanisms for the controlled growth of one‐dimensional (1D) metal–organic framework (MOF) nano‐ and superstructures under size‐confinement and surface‐directing effects have been discovered. Through applying interfacial synthesis templated by track‐etched polycarbonate (PCTE) membranes, congruent polycrystalline zeolitic imidazolate framework‐8 (ZIF‐8) solid nanorods and hollow nanotubes were found to form within 100 nm membrane pores, while single crystalline ZIF‐8 nanowires grew inside 30 nm pores, all of which possess large aspect ratios up to 60 and show preferential crystal orientation with the {100} planes aligned parallel to the long axis of the pore. Our findings provide a generalizable method for controlling size, morphology, and lattice orientation of MOF nanomaterials.  相似文献

A convenient method for the confined incorporation of highly active bimetallic PdCo nanocatalysts within a hollow and porous metal–organic framework (MOF) support is presented. Several chemical conversions occur simultaneously during the one‐step low temperature pyrolysis of well‐designed polystyrene@ZIF‐67/Pd2+ core–shell microspheres, where ZIF (zeolitic imidazolate framework) is a subclass of MOF: the polystyrene core is removed, resulting in a beneficial hollow and porous ZIF support; the ZIF‐67 shell acts as a well‐defined porous support and as a felicitous Co2+ supplier for metal nanoparticle formation; and Pd2+ and Co2+ are reduced to form catalytically active bimetallic PdCo nanoparticles in the well‐defined micropores, inducing the confined growth of PdCo nanoparticles with excellent dispersity.  相似文献

Arrays of ultrasmall and uniform carbon nanodots (CDs) are of pronounced interest for applications in optical devices. Herein, we describe a low‐temperature calcination approach with rather inexpensive reactants. After glucose molecules had been loaded into the pores of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), well‐defined CD arrays were produced by heating to 200 °C. The size and spacing of the CDs could be controlled by the choice of templating MOF: HKUST‐1, ZIF‐8, or MIL‐101. The sizes of the obtained CDs were approximately 1.5, 2.0, and 3.2 nm, which are close to the corresponding MOF pores sizes. The CD arrays exhibited interesting photophysical properties, including photoluminescence with tunable emission and pronounced nonlinear optical (NLO) effects. The NLO properties of the obtained CD arrays were significantly different from those of a CD suspension, thus indicating the existence of collective phenomena.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have shown great promise for CO2 capture and storage. However, the operation of chemical redox functions of framework substances and organic CO2‐trapping entities which are spatially linked together to catalyze CO2 conversion has had much less attention. Reported herein is a cobalt‐containing zeolitic imidazolate framework (Co‐ZIF‐9) which serves as a robust MOF cocatalyst to reduce CO2 by cooperating with a ruthenium‐based photosensitizer. The catalytic turnover number of Co‐ZIF‐9 was about 450 within 2.5 hours under mild reaction conditions, while still keeping its original reactivity during prolonged operation.  相似文献

Since the discovery of size‐selective metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), researchers have tried to incorporate these materials into gas separation membranes. Impressive gas selectivities were found, but these MOF membranes were mostly made on inorganic supports, which are generally too bulky and expensive for industrial gas separation. Forming MOF layers on porous polymer supports is industrially attractive but technically challenging. Two features to overcome these problems are described: 1) a metal chelating support polymer to bind the MOF layer, and 2) control of MOF crystal growth by contra‐diffusion, aiming at a very thin nanocrystalline MOF layer. Using a metal chelating poly‐thiosemicarbazide (PTSC) support and adjusting the metal and organic ligand concentrations carefully, a very compact ZIF‐8 (ZIF=zeolitic imidazolate framework) layer was produced that displayed interference colors because of its smooth surface and extreme thinness—within the range of visible light. High performances were measured in terms of hydrogen/propane (8350) and propylene/propane (150) selectivity.  相似文献

Metal–organic framework nanoparticles (MOF NPs) have emerged as an important class of materials that display significantly enhanced performance in many applications compared to bulk MOF materials; their synthesis, however, commonly involves a tedious sequence that controls particle size and surface properties in separate steps. Now, a simple strategy to access functional MOF NPs in one pot is reported that uses a polyMOF ligand possessing a polymer block for surface functionalization and a coordination block with tunable multivalency for size control. This strategy produces uniform polyMOF‐5 NPs with sizes down to 20 nm, displaying exceptional structural and colloidal stability upon exposure to ambient conditions. A detailed time‐dependent study revealed that the polyMOF NPs were formed following an aggregation‐confined crystallization mechanism. Generality was demonstrated through the synthesis of well‐defined polyUiO‐66 NPs.  相似文献

DNAzymes have been recognized as potent therapeutic agents for gene therapy, while their inefficient intracellular delivery and insufficient cofactor supply precludes their practical biological applications. Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as promising drug carriers without in‐depth consideration of their disassembled ingredients. Herein, we report a self‐sufficient MOF‐based chlorin e6‐modified DNAzyme (Ce6‐DNAzyme) therapeutic nanosystem for combined gene therapy and photodynamic therapy (PDT). The ZIF‐8 nanoparticles (NPs) could efficiently deliver the therapeutic DNAzyme without degradation into cancer cells. The pH‐responsive ZIF‐8 NPs disassemble with the concomitant release of the guest DNAzyme payloads and the host Zn2+ ions that serve, respectively, as messenger RNA‐targeting agent and required DNAzyme cofactors for activating gene therapy. The auxiliary photosensitizer Ce6 could produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) and provide a fluorescence signal for the imaging‐guided gene therapy/PDT.  相似文献

Metal–organic framework (MOF) materials have an enormous potential in separation applications, but to realize their potential as semipermeable membranes they need to be assembled into thin continuous macroscopic films for fabrication into devices. By using a facile immersion technique, we prepared ultrathin, continuous zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF‐8) membranes on titania‐functionalized porous polymeric supports. The coherent ZIF‐8 layer was surprisingly flexible and adhered well to the support, and the composite membrane could sustain bending and elongation. The membranes exhibited molecular sieving behavior, close to the theoretical permeability of ZIF‐8, with hydrogen permeance up to 201×10−7 mol m−2 s−1 Pa−1 and an ideal H2/CO2 selectivity of 7:1. This approach offers significant opportunities to exploit the unique properties of MOFs in the fabrication of separation and sensing devices.  相似文献

A defect‐free zeolitic imidazolate framework‐8 (ZIF‐8)/graphene oxide (GO) membrane with a thickness of 100 nm was prepared using two‐dimensional (2D) ZIF‐8/GO hybrid nanosheets as seeds. Hybrid nanosheets with a suitable amount of ZIF‐8 nanocrystals were essential for producing a uniform seeding layer that facilitates fast crystal intergrowth during membrane formation. Moreover, the seeding layer acts as a barrier between two different synthesis solutions, and self‐limits crystal growth and effectively eliminates defects during the contra‐diffusion process. The resulting ultrathin membranes show excellent molecular sieving gas separation properties, such as with a high CO2/N2 selectivity of 7.0. This 2D nano‐hybrid seeding strategy can be readily extended to the fabrication of other defect‐free and ultrathin MOF or zeolite molecular sieving membranes for a wide range of separation applications.  相似文献

A plasmonic core–shell gold nanostar/zeolitic‐imidazolate‐framework‐8 (ZIF‐8) nanocomposite was developed for the thermoplasmonic‐driven release of encapsulated active molecules inside living cells. The nanocomposites were loaded, as a proof of concept, with bisbenzimide molecules as functional cargo and wrapped with an amphiphilic polymer that prevents ZIF‐8 degradation and bisbenzimide leaking in aqueous media or inside living cells. The demonstrated molecule‐release mechanism relies on the use of near‐IR light coupled to the plasmonic absorption of the core gold nanostars, which creates local temperature gradients and thus, bisbenzimide thermodiffusion. Confocal microscopy and surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) were used to demonstrate bisbenzimide loading/leaking and near‐IR‐triggered cargo release inside cells, thereby leading to DNA staining.  相似文献

Graphene/MOF‐based composite materials in three‐dimensional (3D) architectures are promising for the treatment of oil‐containing wastewater by absorption owing to their intrinsic properties of graphene and metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs), such as high porosity, ultralow density, and facilely tailored superwettability. In this study, novel wrinkled 3D microspherical MOF@rGO composites with both superhydrophobic and superoleophilic properties were developed by embedding MOF nanoparticles between graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets, followed by high‐temperature reduction self‐assembly. The microspherical composites feature a unique micro/nano hierarchy consisting of crumpled reduced GO (rGO) nanosheets intercalated with well‐dispersed MOF nanoparticles. Combined with the superwettability and abundant meso/microporosity, the peculiar architectures of wrinkled ZIF‐8@rGO microspheres show very fast absorption rates and high sorption selectivity for organic solvents and oils from water.  相似文献

Metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets could serve as ideal building blocks of molecular sieve membranes owing to their structural diversity and minimized mass‐transfer barrier. To date, discovery of appropriate MOF nanosheets and facile fabrication of high performance MOF nanosheet‐based membranes remain as great challenges. A modified soft‐physical exfoliation method was used to disintegrate a lamellar amphiprotic MOF into nanosheets with a high aspect ratio. Consequently sub‐10 nm‐thick ultrathin membranes were successfully prepared, and these demonstrated a remarkable H2/CO2 separation performance, with a separation factor of up to 166 and H2 permeance of up to 8×10−7 mol m−2 s−1 Pa−1 at elevated testing temperatures owing to a well‐defined size‐exclusion effect. This nanosheet‐based membrane holds great promise as the next generation of ultrapermeable gas separation membrane.  相似文献

Incorporating atomically dispersed metal species into functionalized metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) can integrate their respective merits for catalysis. A cage‐controlled encapsulation and reduction strategy is used to fabricate single Ru atoms and triatomic Ru3 clusters anchored on ZIF‐8 (Ru1@ZIF‐8, Ru3@ZIF‐8). The highly efficient and selective catalysis for semi‐hydrogenation of alkyne is observed. The excellent activity derives from high atom‐efficiency of atomically dispersed Ru active sites and hydrogen enrichment by the ZIF‐8 shell. Meanwhile, ZIF‐8 shell serves as a novel molecular sieve for olefins to achieve absolute regioselectivity of catalyzing terminal alkynes but not internal alkynes. Moreover, the size‐dependent performance between Ru3@ZIF‐8 and Ru1@ZIF‐8 is detected in experiment and understood by quantum‐chemical calculations, demonstrating a new and promising approach to optimize catalysts by controlling the number of atoms.  相似文献

High‐entropy materials refer to a kind of materials in which five or more metal species were incorporated deliberately into a single lattice with random occupancy. Up to now, such a concept has been only restricted to hard materials, such as high‐entropy alloys and ceramics. Herein we report the synthesis of hybrid high‐entropy materials, polymetallic zeolitic imidazolate framework (also named as high‐entropy zeolitic imidazolate framework, HE‐ZIF), via entropy‐driven room‐temperature mechanochemistry. HE‐ZIF contains five metals including ZnII, CoII, CdII, NiII, and CuII which are dispersed in the ZIF structure randomly. Moreover, HE‐ZIF shows enhanced catalytic conversion of CO2 into carbonate compared with ZIF‐8 presumably a result of the synergistic effect of the five metal ions as Lewis acid in epoxide activation.  相似文献

We report a facile approach to prepare an artificial enzyme system for tandem catalysis. NiPd hollow nanoparticles and glucose oxidase (GOx) were simultaneously immobilized on the zeolitic imidazolate framework 8 (ZIF‐8) via a co‐precipitation method. The as‐prepared GOx@ZIF‐8(NiPd) nanoflower not only exhibited the peroxidase‐like activity of NiPd hollow nanoparticles but also maintained the enzymatic activity of GOx. A colorimetric sensor for rapid detection of glucose was realized through the GOx@ZIF‐8(NiPd) based multi‐enzyme system. Moreover, the GOx@ZIF‐8(NiPd) modified electrode showed good bioactivity of GOx and high electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), which could also be used for electrochemical detection of glucose.  相似文献

A surfactant‐stabilized coordination strategy is used to make two‐dimensional (2D) single‐atom catalysts (SACs) with an ultrahigh Pt loading of 12.0 wt %, by assembly of pre‐formed single Pt atom coordinated porphyrin precursors into free‐standing metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets with an ultrathin thickness of 2.4±0.9 nm. This is the first example of 2D MOF‐based SACs. Remarkably, the 2D SACs exhibit a record‐high photocatalytic H2 evolution rate of 11 320 μmol g?1 h?1 via water splitting under visible light irradiation (λ>420 nm) compared with those of reported MOF‐based photocatalysts. Moreover, the MOF nanosheets can be readily drop‐casted onto solid substrates, forming thin films while still retaining their photocatalytic activity, which is highly desirable for practical solar H2 production.  相似文献

The structural, compositional, and morphological features of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) govern their properties and applications. Construction of hybrid MOFs with complicated structures, components, or morphologies is significant for the development of well‐organized MOFs. An advanced route is reported for construction of atypical hybrid MOFs with unique morphologies and complicated components: 1) MOF‐on‐MOF growth of a 3D zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) on a ZIF‐L template, 2) etching of a part of the 2D ZIF‐L template, and 3) structural transformation of 2D ZIF‐L into 3D ZIF. The formation of core–shell‐type MOF rings and plates is controlled by regulating the three processes. The formation route for the core–shell‐type MOF rings and plates was monitored by tracking changes in morphology, structure, and composition. Carbon materials prepared from the pyrolysis of the core–shell‐type hybrid MOFs displayed enhanced oxygen reduction reaction activities compared to their monomeric counterparts.  相似文献

There is an increasing amount of interest in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) for a variety of applications, from gas sensing and separations to electronics and catalysis. However, the mechanisms by which they crystallize remain poorly understood. Herein, an important new insight into MOF formation is reported. It is shown that, prior to network assembly, crystallization intermediates in the canonical ZIF‐8 system exist in a dynamic pre‐equilibrium, which depends on the reactant concentrations and the progress of reaction. Concentration can, therefore, be used as a synthetic handle to directly control particle size, with potential implications for industrial scale‐up and gas sorption applications. These findings enable the rationalization of apparent contradictions between previous studies of ZIF‐8 and opens up new opportunities for the control of crystallization in network solids more generally.  相似文献

The effect of organic ligands on the separation performance of Zr based metal–organic framework (Zr‐MOF) membranes was investigated. A series of Zr‐MOF membranes with different ligand chemistry and functionality were synthesized by an in situ solvothermal method and a coordination modulation technique. The thin supported MOF layers (ca. 1 μm) showed the crystallographic orientation and pore structure of original MOF structures. The MOF membranes show excellent selectivity towards hydrogen owing to the molecular sieving effect when the bulkier linkers were used. The molecular simulation confirmed that the constricted pore apertures of the Zr‐MOFs which were formed by the additional benzene rings lead to the decrease in the diffusivity of larger penetrants while hydrogen was not remarkably affected. The gas mixture separation factors of the MOF membranes reached to H2/CO2=26, H2/N2=13, H2/CH4=11.  相似文献

Encapsulating a drug molecule into a water‐reactive metal–organic framework (MOF) leads to amorphous drug confined within the nanoscale pores. Rapid release of drug occurs upon hydrolytic decomposition of MOF in dissolution media. Application to improve dissolution and solubility for the hydrophobic small drug molecules curcumin, sulindac, and triamterene is demonstrated. The drug@MOF composites exhibit significantly enhanced dissolution and achieves high supersaturation in simulated gastric and/or phosphate buffer saline media. This combination strategy where MOF inhibits crystallization of the amorphous phase and then releases drug upon MOF irreversible structural collapse represents a novel and generalizable approach for drug delivery of poorly soluble compounds while overcoming the traditional weakness of amorphous drug delivery: physical instability of the amorphous form.  相似文献
