We show how to realize long-distance quantum communication using a long-lived quantum memory, which is embedded in a decoherence-free subspace (DFS). Neutral atoms were used in the present scheme, whose interactions are catalyzed by single photons or weak coherent light. The generation, purification and swapping of logical entangled states are performed with help of cavity-assisted photon scattering which is robust to random variation in the atom-photon coupling rate.  相似文献

We propose a scheme to partially teleport an unknown entangled atomic state. A high-Q cavity, supporting one mode of a weak coherent state, is needed to accomplish this process. By partial teleportation we mean that teleportation will occur by changing one of the partners of the entangled state to be teleported. The entangled state to be teleported is composed by one pair of particles, we called this surprising characteristic of maintaining the entanglement, even when one of the particle of the entangled pair being teleported is changed, of divorce of entangled states.  相似文献

We propose a cavity-QED scheme to effectively generate Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen polarization-entangled photon pairs. Assisted by a classical π-polarized pump field, a tripod four-level atom successively couples to two high-Q optical cavities possessing polarization degeneracy. Through stimulated Raman adiabatic passage process the polarization-entangled photon pairs can be produced.  相似文献

A quantum logic network is constructed to simulate a cloning machine which copies states near a given one. Meanwhile, a scheme for implementing this cloning network based on the technique of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) is presented. It is easy to implement this network of cloning machine in the framework of cavity QED and feasible in the experiment.  相似文献

A spectator system in an atoms-cavity QED model is investigated. The subsystem initial state is prepared as one of the Bell states or one mixed state. It is shown that (i) the dynamics of Bell states are independent on the initial states; (ii) the concurrence dynamics can be engineered by a controlling light field.  相似文献

We consider a non-degenerate three-level cascade laser coupled to a two-mode squeezed vacuum reservoir via the lossy single-port mirror. Applying the pertinent master equation, we analyze the effects of the injected squeezed light on the quadrature squeezing, entanglement and normalized intensity difference fluctuations. We show that the injected squeezed light considerably enhances the degree of squeezing and entanglement in the two-mode light for certain initial conditions. Moreover, the injected squeezed light increases the mean photon number where the squeezing and entanglement is significant. We also show that the presence of the injected squeezed light greatly reduces the noise in the intensity difference.  相似文献

Recently, Yeo and Chua introduced a genuine four-qubit entangled state |χ〉 which can implement perfect teleportation of an arbitrary two-qubit state [Y. Yeo, W.K. Chua, Phys. Rev. Lett. 96 (2006) 060502]. It has been shown that the state |χ〉 is inequivalent to the well-known Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger state, W state, and linear cluster state, in terms of stochastic local operations and classical communication [C.F. Wu, Y. Yeo, L.C. Kwek, C.H. Oh, Phys. Rev. A 75 (2007) 032332]. This “new” class of state has many interesting entanglement properties and possible applications in quantum-information processing and fundamental tests of quantum mechanics. Here, we propose a simple scheme to generate the state |χ〉 in cavity quantum electrodynamics. Our idea may be helpful for in-depth study on such a class of state and its practical applications.  相似文献

We investigate the entanglement transfer from a bipartite non-Gaussian continuous-variable (CV) system to a pair of localized qubits. The non-Gaussian state is obtained by the de-Gaussification process involving subtracting photons from or adding photons to a Gaussian field. It is shown that such de-Gaussification process can improve the entanglement transfer.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for one-step generation of cluster states with atoms sent through a thermal cavity with strong classical driving field, based on the resonant atom-cavity interaction so that the operating time is sharply short, which is important in the view of decoherence.  相似文献

In a photonic realization of qubits the implementation of quantum logic is rather difficult due to the extremely weak interaction on the few photon level. On the other hand, in these systems interference is available to process the quantum states. We formalize the use of interference by the definition of a simple class of operations which include linear-optical elements, auxiliary states and conditional operations. We investigate an important subclass of these tools, namely linear-optical elements and auxiliary modes in the vacuum state. For these tools, we are able to extend a previous qualitative result, a no-go theorem for perfect Bell-state analyzer on two qubits in polarization entanglement, by a quantitative statement. We show that within this subclass it is not possible to discriminate unambiguously four equiprobable Bell states with a probability higher than 50%. Continuous variable entanglement and violation of Bell inequality for two modes are investigated in a three-level cascade atomic system. Entanglement of the system is demonstrated according to the entanglement criterion [Phys. Rev. Lett. 84 (2000)2722]. Violation of Bell inequality is studied within the framework of a quantum theory of multiwave mixing. It is shown that there are some states that are entangled but do not violate the Bell inequality.  相似文献

We implement a two-atom √swap Bate via cavity QED. During the preparation, a cavity-assisted collision betweenatoms is required, and this does not need any auxiliary atom. The cavity is only virtually excited, thus our scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and to the cavity decay. The scheme can be implemented by the present cavity QED techniques.  相似文献

Taking into account the interactions between electrons and phonons, we study the dynamic behavior of a dissipative mesoscopic circuit for pure initial coherent state of phonon bath modes by virtue of the IWOP technique. It shows that if the bath modes are initially in coherent states, some phenomena like Brownian behavior will appear in mean charge and current of the mesoscopic circuit. The quantum fluctuations of charge and current are constant and irrelevant to the coupled coefficients between electrons and phonons.  相似文献

We show how a controlled phase gate, induced by adiabatic passage of dark states, can be implemented with the nitrogen-vacancy defects in nanocrystal coupled to the optical whispering gallery mode in a silica microsphere cavity. The gate presented is robust to the fluctuations of the experimental parameters compared to the dynamical and geometric phases gates. The feasibility of this scheme is characterized by exact numerical simulations that incorporate various sources of experiment noise. The results demonstrate the practicality by way of current experimental technologies.  相似文献

The experiment of measuring the spin depolarized time and light storage time in a Rb vapor under different conditions is performed. Typically, these measurements are accomplished in three different containers: atoms in a bare glass cell, atoms in a buffer gas cell, and atoms in a tetracontane (C4oH82) coating cell. The increasing depolarization and storage times are observed in both the buffer gas cell and the tetracontane coating cell. In the latter case, a storage time greater than 400μs is obtained.  相似文献

A scheme for implementing a Fredkin gate with an atom sent through a microwave cavity is proposed. The scheme is based on the resonant atom-cavity interaction so that the gating time is sharply short, which is important in view of decoherence.  相似文献

We investigate a scheme of atomic quantum memory to store photonic qubits of polarization in cavity QED. It is observed that the quantum state swapping between a single-photon pulse and a Λ-type atom can be made via scattering in an optical cavity [T. W. Chen, C. K. Law, P. T. Leung, Phys. Rev. A 69 (2004) 063810]. This swapping operates limitedly in the strong coupling regime for Λ-type atoms with equal dipole couplings. We extend this scheme in cavity QED to present a more feasible and efficient method for quantum memory combined with projective measurement. This method works without requiring such a condition on the dipole couplings. The fidelity is significantly higher than that of the swapping, and even in the moderate coupling regime it reaches almost unity by narrowing sufficiently the photon-pulse spectrum. This high performance is rather unaffected by the atomic loss, cavity leakage or detunings, while a trade-off is paid in the success probability for projective measurement.  相似文献

We present the cluster-type entangled coherent states (CTECS) and discuss their properties. A cavity QED generation scheme using suitable choices of atom-cavity interactions, obtained via detunings adjustments and the application of classical external fields, is also presented. After the realization of simple atomic measurements, CTECS representing nonlocal electromagnetic fields in separate cavities can be generated.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for preparing multiple-photon GHZ state via cavity-assisted interaction. There are n-pair single-photon pulses successively injected and reflected from two sides of the cavity, which traps one atom. After the atomic state is measured, a 2n-photon GHZ state is produced. In the ideal case, the successful probability of the scheme is close to unity.  相似文献

We investigate the entanglement in the interacting system of a single mode thermal field and a single qubit with dissipation in the dispersive limit. The influence of initial temperature of thermal field and atoms on the entanglement is then examined.  相似文献
