Abstract In order to study the Hochschild cohomology of an n-triangular algebra 𝒯 n , we construct a spectral sequence, whose terms are parametrized by the length of the trajectories of the quiver associated with 𝒯 n , and which converges to the Hochschild cohomology of 𝒯 n . We describe explicitly its components and its differentials which are sums of cup products. In case n = 3 we study some properties of the differential at level 2. We give some examples of use of the spectral sequence and recover formulas for the dimension of the cohomology groups of particular cases of triangular algebras. 相似文献

Up to derived equivalence, the representation-finite self-injective algebras of class A
n are divided into the wreath-like algebras (containing all Brauer tree algebras) and the Möbius algebras. In Part I (Forum Math.
11 (1999), 177–201), the ring structure of Hochschild cohomology of wreath-like algebras was determined, the key observation being that kernels in a minimal bimodule resolution of the algebras are twisted bimodules. In this paper we prove that also for Möbius algebras certain kernels in a minimal bimodule resolution carry the structure of a twisted bimodule. As an application we obtain detailed information on subrings of the Hochschild cohomology rings of Möbius algebras. 相似文献

We show that the Connes–Moscovici negative cyclic cohomology of a Hopf algebra equipped with a character has a Lie bracket of degree -2. More generally, we show that a cyclic operad with multiplication is a cocyclic module whose simplicial cohomology is a Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra and whose negative cyclic cohomology is a graded Lie algebra of degree -2. This generalizes the fact that the Hochschild cohomology algebra of a symmetric algebra is a Batalin–Vilkovisky algebra. 相似文献

Support varieties for any finite dimensional algebra over a field were introduced in (Proc. London Math. Soc. 88 (3) (2004) 705–732) using graded subalgebras of the Hochschild cohomology ring. We mainly study these varieties for selfinjective algebras under appropriate finite generation hypotheses. Then many of the standard results from the theory of support varieties for finite groups generalize to this situation. In particular, the complexity of the module equals the dimension of its corresponding variety, all closed homogeneous varieties occur as the variety of some module, the variety of an indecomposable module is connected, the variety of periodic modules are lines and for symmetric algebras a generalization of Webbs theorem is true. We investigate the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of crossed modules of algebras in some special cases. We prove that the cotriple cyclic homology of a crossed module of algebras (I, A, ρ) is isomorphic to HC *(ρ): HC *(I) → HC *(A), provided I is H-unital and the ground ring is a field with characteristic zero. We also calculate the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of a crossed module of algebras (R, 0, 0) for each algebra R with trivial multiplication. We study L 2-Betti numbers for von Neumann algebras, as defined by D. Shlyakhtenko and A. Connes in [CoS]. We give a definition of L 2-cohomology and show how the study of the first L 2-Betti number can be related to the study of derivations with values in a bi-module of affiliated operators. We show several results about the possibility of extending derivations from sub-algebras and about uniqueness of such extensions. In particular, we show that the first L 2-Betti number of a tracial von Neumann algebra coincides with the corresponding number for an arbitrary weakly dense sub-C*-algebra. Along the way, we prove some results about the dimension function of modules over rings of affiliated operators which are of independent interest. The aim of this paper is to characterize the first graded Hochschild cohomology of a hereditary algebra whose Gabriel quiver is admitted to have oriented cycles. The interesting conclusion we have obtained shows that the standard basis of the first graded Hochschild cohomology depends on the genus of a quiver as a topological object. In this paper, we overcome the limitation of the classical Hochschild cohomology for hereditary algebra where the Gabriel quiver is assumed to be acyclic. As preparation, we first investigate the graded differential operators on a path algebra and the associated graded Lie algebra. 相似文献
