As lean premixed combustion systems are more susceptible to combustion instabilities than non-premixed systems, there is an increasing demand for improved numerical design tools that can predict the occurrence of combustion instabilities with high accuracy. The inherent nonlinearities in combustion instabilities can be of crucial importance, and we here propose an approach in which the one-dimensional (1D) Navier-Stokes and scalar transport equations are solved for geometries of variable cross-section. The focus is on attached flames, and for this purpose a new phenomenological model for the unsteady heat release from a flame front is introduced. In the attached flame method (AFM) the heat release occurs over the full length of the flame. The nonlinear code with the use of the AFM approach is validated against analytical results and against an experimental study of thermoacoustic instabilities in oxy-fuel flames by Ditaranto and Hals [Combustion and Flame 146 (2006) 493-512]. The numerical simulations are in accordance with the experimental measurements and the analytical results and both the frequencies and the amplitudes of the resonant acoustic pressure modes are reproduced with good accuracy. 相似文献

Analysis of the known techniques for simulating the surface microtopography indicates a substantial difference between the surface reliefs resultant from their application and real ones. In order to more accurately determine the surface microrelief, a numerical method is proposed making it possible to create a 3D surface roughness model ensuring accurate repetition of the relief of a real prototype. In turn, the resulting model geometry of the surface enables us to determine real actual contact areas and the relative positions of the protuberances and cavities of contacting surfaces. It is proved that the proposed method has advantages over known empirical dependences. 相似文献

The growth of objects with rough surfaces is a common phenomenon. We describe several models used in the study of the temporal evolution of fluctuating interfaces and then we explain the dynamical scaling in this class of growth models with self-affine surfaces. The recent progress in this field is reviewed. Much emphasis is put on roughness properties and in particular on a possible kinetic roughening transition — a nonequilibrium analog of the thermal roughening transition. Both analytical and numerical results for scaling exponents are summarized and indications of a phase transition in some models are discussed. 相似文献

The dynamic tangential contact of rough surfaces of frictional elements of a stick-slip microdrive is theoretically investigated. By applying the method of dimensionality reduction, the contact areas of the frictional partners are modeled such that the physical properties of the contact can be fully considered and the influence of the roughness is taken into account. The dynamics of the microscopic rough contact is combined with a macroscopic movement of the drive’s runner in a hybrid dynamic simulation. The numerical results show a good agreement with experimental data. Furthermore, an analytical relation between maximal tangential contact displacement and normal force applied to the contact is analyzed, allowing the contact behavior to be theoretically predicted. 相似文献

在回顾和总结现有强脉冲离子束诊断技术和能量沉积模型的基础上, 结合红外成像诊断分析, 基于能量平衡, 提出了强脉冲离子束在固体靶中功率密度分布模型, 并采用蒙特卡罗方法对其进行计算. 以该功率密度模型作为源项, 使用有限元分析方法模拟强脉冲离子束入射100 μm不锈钢靶后内部温度场在毫秒时间范围内的分布和演化. 结果显示, 在微秒时间范围内, 热场以存在于近表面区域数倍于离子射程范围内的冲击热场为主要特征; 而在毫秒时间范围内, 靶的前后表面(纵向)已达到温度平衡, 且靶后表面温度场和入射前表面的离子束横截面能量密度具有空间分布的相似性. 这证明了, 在采用具有毫秒响应速度的红外拍摄系统的情况下, 背面红外诊断技术可以实现以较高的精度对强脉冲离子束横截面的能量分布进行诊断和分析. 相似文献

The routine wave superposition approach cannot be used in reconstruction and prediction of a coherent acoustic field, because it is impossible to separate the pressures generated by individual sources. According to the superposition theory of the coherent acoustic field , a novel method based on the combined wave superposition approach is developed to reconstruct and predict the coherent acoustic field by building the combined pressure matching matrixes between the hologram surfaces and the sources. The method can reconstruct the acoustic information on surfaces of the individual sources, and it is possible to predict the acoustic field radiated from every source and the total coherent acoustic field can also be calculated spontaneously. The experimental and numerical simulation results show that this method can effectively solve the holographic reconstruction and prediction of the coherent acoustic field and it can also be used as a coherent acoustic field separation technique. The study on this novel method extends the application scope of the acoustic holography technique. 相似文献

In this paper, we address hydrodynamic interactions of individual red blood cells (erythrocytes) with micro-rough surfaces in a shear flow of a viscous fluid using computer simulations. We study the influence of the microrelief on the dynamics of cell movement. It has been shown that periodic microrelief with typical length scale comparable with the size of an erythrocyte may cause an increase of the repulsive hydrodynamic force directed outwards on the micro-rough wall. The results can be used in the design of microfluidic devices that are intended to operate with whole blood samples. 相似文献

A novel method is proposed to simulate Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities using a specially-developed unsteady three-dimensional high-order spectral element method code. The numerical model used consists of Navier-Stokes equations and a transport-diffusive equation. The code is first validated with the results of linear stability perturbation theory. Then several characteristics of the Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities are studied using this three-dimensional unsteady code, including instantaneous turbulent structures and statistical turbulent mixing heights under different initial wave numbers. These results indicate that turbulent structures of Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities are strongly dependent on the initial conditions. The results also suggest that a high-order numerical method should provide the capability of simulating small scale fluctuations of Rayleigh-Taylor instabilities of turbulent flows. 相似文献

This paper Presents numerical simulations, theoretical analysis, and millimeter wave experiments for scattering from one-dimensional very rough surfaces. First, numerical simulations are used to investigate the effects of roughness spectrum, height variation, interface medium, polarization, and incident angle on the backscattering enhancement. The enhanced backscattering due to rough surface scattering is divided into two cases; the RMS height close to a wavelength and RMS slope close to unity, and RMS height much smaller than a wavelength with surface wave contributions. Results also show that the enhancement is sensitive to the roughness spectrum. Next, a theory based on the first- and second-order Kirchhoff approximation modified with angular and propagation shadowing is developed. The theoretical solutions provide a physical explanation of backscattering enhancement and agree well with the numerical results. In addition to the scattering of a monochromatic wave, the analytical results of the broadening and lateral spreading of a pulsed beam wave scattering from rough surfaces are also discussed. Finally, the existence of backscattering enhancement from one-dimensional very rough conducting surfaces with exact Gaussian statistics and Gaussian roughness spectrum is verified by a millimeter-wave experiment. Experimental results which show enhanced backscattering for both TE and TM polarizations for different angles of incidence are presented. 相似文献

An analytical approach for vibration response analysis of a beam with single passive constrained layer damping (PCLD) patch is presented. The governing equation of motion of the beam is firstly derived on the basis of an energy approach and the Lagrange equation. The noval contribution is that a third admissible function is introduced to represent the longitudinal displacements of the constraining layer in the PCLD patch when the assumed-modes method is applied for discretizing the governing equation. In conventional analytical approaches, only two admissible functions are used together with a longitudinal static equilibrium equation of a section of base beam or constraining layer. Comparison of the computational results from the proposed analytical approach and the conventional analytical approach as well as a commercial FEM code reveals that the proposed analytical approach can describe the vibration responses of the damped beam more accurately for commonly used viscoelastic material (VEM) layer in the PCLD patch while the conventional analytical approach, in general, overestimates the damping effects of the PCLD patch. The advantages and disadvantages of the proposed analytical approach and conventional analytical approach are discussed through some case studies. 相似文献

研究激光光束海面反射光强的方向分布特性对海上光电对抗等领域的工程实践具有重要意义.本文采用分形方法模拟粗糙海面,并在海面基准坐标系中建立起描述粗糙海面几何特征的数学方程,然后基于蒙特卡罗方法模拟高斯光束,依据几何光学原理在基准坐标系下推导了高斯光束的海面反射模型,采用该模型可以编程计算激光光束海面反射光强的方向分布.将模拟计算结果与实验结果进行了对比分析,结果表明该模型可以较好地反映激光光束海面反射光强的分布趋势,验证了模型的有效性. 相似文献

In this paper we describe the heavy ion beam diagnostic for the tokamak ISTTOK, which has been designed to determine the temporal evolution of the plasma density, poloidal magnetic field and plasma potential profiles. This diagnostic makes use of a new type of high density caesium plasma source, a multiple cell detector and a fast data acquisition system. We describe the numerical code for trajectory and beam attenuation simulations, a method for the experimental determination of the poloidal field profile, the ion gun and the detection, control and data acquisition systems.
