The kinetics of decay of a phase hologram in a semiconductor CdF2 crystal with bistable In centers is studied. Kinetic constants of the hologram decay are found, and the potential relief of the bistable center is plotted. The resolving power of the crystal is evaluated and recording of a transparency is demonstrated.  相似文献

It is shown that CdF2:In crystals can be used to record amplitude-phase information holograms in real time. The diffraction efficiency of these holograms is several percent, but they are characterized by a much higher sensitivity in comparison with phase holograms recorded in the transparency region of the crystal. Cadmium fluoride doped with Ga and Y is shown to be a suitable medium for backward-wave four-wave mixing with a grating decay time of a few seconds at room temperature. Photochromic CdF2:Ga crystals with bistable impurity centers were effectively used for the dynamic recording of holograms and readout over the visible and near IR spectral regions at spatial frequencies of up to 5000 mm?1 at room temperature. The diffraction efficiency of the dynamic holograms was as high as 60% at maximum and exceeded 1% when the beams’ intensities were in the ratio 1:100. As one goes from the low temperatures (≤200 K) to 300 K, the peak diffraction efficiency of the dynamic holograms decreases approximately by a factor of 1.5, while the speed of their response and photosensitivity in the long-wavelength spectral region increases by more than an order of magnitude. For the sake of comparison, the dynamic holograms were recorded under the same conditions as the widely used electrooptical SBN crystals. Comparative analysis ascertained a unique combination of the useful features offered by CdF2:Ga crystals in holography.  相似文献

For either of the two reflection spectra of cadmium difluoride that are known from experiments, a complete set of the fundamental optical functions is calculated in the energy range 4–45 eV with the Kramers-Kronig relationships. The basic features of the optical spectra are established, and a hypothesis for their origin is suggested based on the known theoretical results for the band structure.  相似文献

The light scattering in the form of ring structures in Sn2P2S6 crystals at the propagation of intense laser pump radiation along the b crystallographic axis is detected. Radiation passing through a crystal is completely scattered into a cone whose angle increases with the pump power and decreases reversibly with a decrease in this power. The observed effect can be attributed to a spontaneous increase in the amplitude of photoinduced bulk diffraction gratings and to the scattering of light on them in the directions where the phase increments of the photorefractive and diffraction natures compensate each other. A similar type of scattering was observed previously in other photorefractive crystals, but the appearance of gratings with the period easily varied by varying the pump power is demonstrated for the first time.  相似文献

The local crystal structure of Gd3+ and Eu2+ cubic impurity centers in cadmium fluoride is calculated within the shell model in the pair potential approximation. The local compressibility of the cationic and anionic sublattices of the host lattice is determined in the vicinity of the Gd3+ (Eu2+) impurity ion.  相似文献

The location of the energy levels of rare-earth (RE) elements in the energy band diagram of BaF2 and CdF2 crystals is determined. The role of RE 3+ and RE 2+ ions in the capture of charge carriers, luminescence, and the formation of radiation defects is evaluated. It is shown that the substantial difference in the luminescence properties of BaF2: RE and CdF2: RE is associated with the location of the excited energy levels in the band diagram of the crystals.  相似文献

Experimental investigations of the field dependence of the linear magnetic birefringence (LMB) in an α-Fe2O3:Ga single crystal are presented. It is established that during crystal magnetization in the basal plane near directions perpendicular to the С2 axes in the region of magnetic field saturation, the LMB changes nonmonotonically. The observed special feature of the field LMB dependence is due to the reorganization of the magnetic α-Fe2O3:Ga structure during magnetization.  相似文献

We have performed neutron diffraction measurements on a single crystal sample of Ca3Co2O6 both in a zero field and in an applied magnetic field. The measurements have revealed details of the zero-field structure of this geometrically frustrated Ising-like spin-chain compound at low temperatures and have also allowed us to examine its magnetisation process. Transitions to the M=Msat/3 ferrimagnetic state and fully polarised ferromagnetic state have been observed. The neutron scattering results are compared with the magnetisation data, where these transitions are accompanied by the appearance of several steps and plateaux.  相似文献

The electrical conductivity of CdF2 semiconductor crystals is measured using the microwave intracavity technique at a frequency of ~35 GHz. The crystals are activated with yttrium donor impurities and indium and gallium ions forming bistable one-electron donor impurity and two-electron DX centers. The conclusion is drawn that the concentration of electrons in the conduction band of CdF2: Ga crystals has an anomalously high value. This confirms the results obtained in earlier NMR investigations of CdF2 semiconductor crystals at room temperature.  相似文献

Crystals of the KPb2Br5compound are investigated using polarized light microscopy and calorimetry. The birefringence and the angle of rotation of the optical indicatrix are measured in the temperature range 270–620 K. It is found that the KPb2Br5 crystal undergoes a first-order ferroelastic phase transition at temperatures T0↑ = 519.5 K and T0↓ = 518.5 K with a change in the enthalpy ΔH = 1300 ± 200 J/mol. This transition is accompanied by both twinning and the symmetry change mmm ? P21/c. It is revealed that the angle of rotation of the optical indicatrix exhibits an unusual behavior under variations in the temperature due to a strong temperature dependence of the birefringence.  相似文献

The crystal structure of BaFe2As2 was studied by high-pressure neutron powder diffraction in the pressure range from ambient to 6.5 GPa as well as in the temperature range from 12 K to 293 K at 4.4 GPa and no pressure or temperature induced phase changes were observed. The compression mechanism of BaFe2As2 was found to be anisotropic as the a- and c-axes are reduced by 2.49 and 3.66%, respectively at 6.5 GPa. Within the FeAs layers the Fe-As and Fe-Fe bonds decrease by 2.49 and 3.66%, respectively. The Ba-As distance decreases by 3.70% while the As-As inter-atomic distance along the c-axis exhibits a complex pressure dependence. The bulk modulus B 0 and its pressure derivative B 0' were determined to be B 0 = 59(2) GPa and B 0' = 6.1(7) at ambient temperature.  相似文献

This paper reports on the results of acoustic investigations of a NaBi(MoO4)2 crystal in the temperature range from 20 to 70°C. The temperature dependences of the velocity of longitudinal ultrasonic waves propagating along the crystallographic axes z and x are measured at a frequency of 4 MHz. The results obtained demonstrate that a structural phase transition occurs in the NaBi(MoO4)2 crystal at a temperature of 309 K. The experimental findings are consistent with the assumption that the observed phase transition is either a second-order ferroelastic transition or a first-order ferroelastic transition that is very close to being a second-order phase transition.  相似文献

The microwave-cavity-based technique is used to study the processes of photoionization of electrons from donor levels to the conduction band in semiconductor CdF2 crystals doped with Y, In, or Ga. The samples were excited by periodic pulses of Nd-laser (λ = 1.06 μm, pulse width ~10 ns) in the temperature range 6–77 K. The transient processes were detected in the absorption and dispersion modes related to variation of the imaginary and real parts of the complex permittivity ?1 ? i?2 induced by the light pulses. The observed signals consisted of short peak at t ~ 0, approximately 40–70 ns in length, and a long tail with a duration of ~100 ms. The short peak is likely to be related to the stay of the photoexcited carriers in the conduction band, while the long tail is associated with the processes of excitation relaxation after the electrons coming back to the donor levels of the impurity band. The weak temperature dependence of the width of the peak at t ~ 0 is explained by the tunneling mechanism of relaxation of electrons through the energy (or, probably, spatial) barrier separating the bound and free states of the carriers in the semiconductor CdF2.  相似文献

An effect of nonpolarized white light on the modulated magnetic structure of a FeBO3:Mg single crystal, which arises in this light-plane weak ferromagnet in the low temperature range during technical magnetization, has been revealed. It has been found that the degree of the light action on the magnetic state of FeBO3:Mg depends both on its duration and on the orientation of the spontaneous magnetization vector M of the crystal during illumination. Interpretation of the results obtained has been performed in the context of the “magnetic ripple” theory on the assumption that the absorbed light induces additional uniaxial magnetic anisotropy in the easy plane of the crystal and that the anisotropy axis is collinear to the vector M during illumination.  相似文献

The discovery of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in a CsLa(WO4)2 crystal and the first results of studying its steady-state χ(3)-nonlinear generation within the visible wavelength range are reported. The conductivity and heat capacity of tripotassium hydrogen trisulfate single crystals were studied. It was shown that these single crystals undergo a solid-solid phase transformation upon heating with the formation of new phases, and that their properties change considerably. Anomalies related to the sorption and desorption of water vapor were observed in the formed multiphase system. Such anomalies were observed for the first time in measurements of the true heat capacity.  相似文献

The absorption spectra and photo-and dark conductivity of the CdI2-PbI2 system are investigated in the temperature range 4.2–300 K. The temperature dependence of the photoluminescence and the IR stimulation spectra of luminescence and induced photoconductivity at 4.2 K are also studied. The results are interpreted by considering microphase inclusions of PbI2 into the CdI2 crystal lattice as activator centers. An energy-level diagram in which the narrow band of the PbI2 microphase genetically related to the metastable 3P0 level of lead plays a significant role is presented for this crystal system.  相似文献
