We investigate the properties of entanglement and excited-state quantum phase transition (ESQPT) in a hybrid atom-optomechanical system in which an optomechanical quadratic interaction is introduced into a normal Dicke model. Interestingly, by preparing the ancillary mode in a coherent state, both the quantum entanglement and ESQPT can be realized in a relative weak-coupling condition. Moreover, the entanglement is immune to the A2 term, and a reversed trend of the entropy is obtained when the A2 term is included. Density of states (DoS) and Peres lattice are used to investigate ESQPTs. Compared to a normal Dicke model, the DoS enlarges exp(2rα) times if the ancillary mode is prepared in a coherent state. This work is an extension of the ground-state quantum phase transition, which may inspire further exploration of the quantum criticality in many-body systems.  相似文献

We study symmetry breaking at the Dicke quantum phase transition by coupling a motional degree of freedom of a Bose-Einstein condensate to the field of an optical cavity. Using an optical heterodyne detection scheme, we observe symmetry breaking in real time and distinguish the two superradiant phases. We explore the process of symmetry breaking in the presence of a small symmetry-breaking field and study its dependence on the rate at which the critical point is crossed. Coherent switching between the two ordered phases is demonstrated.  相似文献

We consider the entanglement properties of the quantum phase transition in the single-mode superradiance model, involving the interaction of a boson mode and an ensemble of atoms. For an infinite size system, the atom-field entanglement diverges logarithmically with the correlation length exponent. Using a continuous variable representation, we compare this to the divergence of the entropy in conformal field theories and derive an exact expression for the scaled concurrence and the cusplike nonanalyticity of the momentum squeezing.  相似文献

For the case of a phase transition into a macroscopically inhomogeneous state described by the order parameter (OP) that is characterized by a multiarm star of a vector {ki}, a method for compensating the spatial variation in all star arms ki is proposed. To this end, a unified tensor field (OP connectivity) is considered, which is interpreted as a stress field potential. The OP-connectivity interaction is described by the phenomenological dislocation charge. Alternative ways of physical interpretation of the OP connectivity are discussed.  相似文献

We show that the addition of external fields to the Dicke Hamiltonian removes the critical behaviour of the model. We analyse this result in terms of order parameter and conjugated field and compare with recent papers.  相似文献

We consider entanglement criteria based on the spin squeezing inequalities for arbitrary spin systems. Here we use the negative correlations to detect the entanglement in the system with exchange symmetry. For arbitrary spin systems, we can find that the state is entangled, when the minimal pairwise correlation is negative. Then we give a parameter which is defined by the collective angular momentum operator, to detect the entanglement for the Dicke state with N spin ?1 particles, and the results are as the same as negative correlation. We also consider the directions of negative correlation, the state is entangled in two orthogonal directions for the superposition of Dicke state without parity.  相似文献

We study dynamical properties of quantum entanglement in the Dicke model with and without the rotating-wave approximation. Specifically, we investigate the maximal entanglement and mean entanglement which reflect the underlying chaos in the system, and a good classical-quantum correspondence is found. We also show that the maximal linear entropy can be more sensitive to chaos than the mean linear entropy.  相似文献

We use the quantum renormalization-group(QRG) method to study the entanglement and quantum phase transition(QPT) in the one-dimensional spin-1/2 Heisenberg-Ising model [Lieb E,Schultz T and Mattis D 1961 Ann.Phys.(N.Y.) 16 407].We find the quantum phase boundary of this model by investigating the evolution of concurrence in terms of QRG iterations. We also investigate the scaling behavior of the system close to the quantum critical point, which shows that the minimum value of the first derivative of concurrence and the position of the minimum scale with an exponent of the system size. Also, the first derivative of concurrence between two blocks diverges at the quantum critical point, which is directly associated with the divergence of the correlation length.  相似文献

The Rényi entropies of the Dicke model are presented. This quantum-optical model describes a single-mode bosonic field interacting with an ensemble of N two-level atoms. There is a quantum phase transition in the N→∞ limit. It is shown that there is an abrupt change in the Rényi entropy of order β at the transition point. Around the critical value of the coupling strength λc the Rényi entropy is proportional to the logarithm of the characteristic length and diverges as ln|λcλ| for any order β. The pseudocapacity defined here in analogy with the heat capacity exhibits the phase transition. The critical exponent for the Dicke model is found to be 1 for any value of the parameter β.  相似文献

Dicke states represent a class of multipartite entangled states that can be generated experimentally with many applications in quantum information. We propose a method to experimentally detect genuine multipartite entanglement in the vicinity of arbitrary Dicke states. The detection scheme can be used to experimentally quantify the entanglement depth of many-body systems and is easy to implement as it requires measurement of only three collective spin operators. The detection criterion is strong as it heralds multipartite entanglement even in cases where the state fidelity goes down exponentially with the number of qubits.  相似文献

We study the ground-state and thermal entanglement in the mixed-spin (S,s)=(1,1/2) Heisenberg chain with single-ion anisotropy D using exact diagonalization of small clusters. In this system, a quantum phase transition is revealed to occur at the value D=0, which is the bifurcation point for the global ground state; that is, when the single-ion anisotropy energy is positive, the ground state is unique, whereas when it is negative, the ground state becomes doubly degenerate and the system has the ferrimagnetic long-range order. Using the negativity as a measure of entanglement, we find that a pronounced dip in this quantity, taking place just at the bifurcation point, serves to signal the quantum phase transition. Moreover, we show that the single-ion anisotropy helps to improve the characteristic temperatures above which the quantum behavior disappears.  相似文献

We study quantum entanglement in a one-dimensional correlated fermionic system. Our results show, for the first time, that entanglement can be used to identify quantum phase transitions in fermionic systems.  相似文献

By means of the use of the “gap equations”, we calculate the thermodynamic properties of a sufficiently general Dicke model. We obtain the general relations which correspond to the condition of second-order phase transition from the normal to the superradiant state.  相似文献

We propose a method to compute the entanglement degree of bipartite systems having dimension 2 × 2 and demonstrate that the partial transposition of density matrix, the Peres criterion, arise as a consequence of our method. Differently from other existing measures of entanglement, the one presented here makes possible the derivation of a criterion to verify if an arbitrary bipartite entanglement will suffers sudden death (SD) based only on the initial-state parameters. Our method also makes possible to characterize the SD as a dynamical quantum phase transition, with order parameter , having a universal critical exponent −1/2.  相似文献

We show that the addition of classical external fields to the Dicke model does not necessarily remove the phase transition if a mechanism is already present which destroys the gauge invariance of the model.  相似文献

Fisher information, Rényi entropy power and Fisher–Rényi information product are presented for the Dicke model. There is a quantum phase transition in this quantum optical model. It is pointed out that there is an abrupt change in the Fisher information, Rényi entropy power, the Fisher, Shannon and Rényi lengths at the transition point. It is found that these quantities diverge as the characteristic length: |λc−λ|−1/4|λcλ|1/4 around the critical value of the coupling strength λcλc for any value of the parameter ββ.  相似文献

The fidelity and entanglement entropy in an antiferromagnetic-ferromagnetic alternating Heisenberg chain are investigated by using the method of density-matrix renormalization-group. The effects of anisotropy on fidelity and entanglement entropy are investigated. The relations between fidelity, entanglement entropy and quantum phase transition are analyzed. It is found that the quantum phase transition point can be well characterized by both the ground-state entropy and fidelity for large system.  相似文献

We establish a set of nonequilibrium quantum phase transitions in the Dicke model by considering a monochromatic nonadiabatic modulation of the atom-field coupling. For weak driving the system exhibits a set of sidebands which allow the circumvention of the no-go theorem which otherwise forbids the occurrence of superradiant phase transitions. At strong driving we show that the system exhibits a rich multistable structure and exhibits both first- and second-order nonequilibrium quantum phase transitions.  相似文献
