This Letter deals with triply-periodic (crystalline) solutions in a family of Skyrme systems, namely where the field takes values in the squashed 3-sphere. The family includes the standard Skyrme model (round 3-sphere), and the Skyrme–Faddeev case (maximal squashing). In the round case, the lowest-energy crystal is the well-known cubic lattice of half-skyrmions; but in the squashed case the minimal-energy crystal structures turn out to be different. We describe some of the solutions that arise, including arrays of vortices and multi-sheeted structures.  相似文献

Abstract In this study, the proton and neutron densities, charge densities, rms nuclear charge radii, rms nuclear mass radii, rms nuclear proton, neutron radii, and neutron skin thickness are calculated by using Harfree-Fock method with an effective nucleon-nucleon Skyrme interactions with SⅠ, SⅡ, SⅣ, T3, SKM, and SKM^* parameters. These nuclear properties for the neutron-rich isotopes of B (Boron) are presented. The calculated results are compared with the experimental and theoretical results of other researchers.  相似文献

The purpose of the present work is to extend earlier nuclear matter calculations to study the properties of neutron matter. The binding energy per particle, symmetry energy, single particle potential, effective mass, and magnetic susceptibility are calculated using a modified Skyrme interaction. These are calculated as a function of the Fermi momentum kf in the range 0 < kf < 2 fm?1. Two sets of the interaction parameters are obtained by fitting the interaction parameters using the available information on neutron matter. Relativistic corrections to the order 1/c2 are also calculated. The relativistic corrections are very small and they increase as kf is increased.  相似文献

The Skyrme model can be generalised to a situation where static fields are maps from one Riemannian manifold to another. Here we study a Skyrme model where physical space is two-dimensional euclidean space and the target space is the two-sphere with its standard metric. The model has topological soliton solutions which are exponentially localised. We describe a superposition procedure for solitons in our model and derive an expression for the interaction potential of two solitons which only involves the solitons' asymptotic fields. If the solitons have topological degree 1 or 2 there are simple formulae for their interaction potentials which we use to prove the existence of solitons of higher degree. We explicitly compute the fields and energy distributions for solitons of degrees between one and six and discuss their geometrical shapes and binding energies.  相似文献

The main purpose of potential constants, i. e., force and compliance constants, is to provide a quantitative understanding of bonding relationships. Compliance constants have been shown to possess several mathematical advantages over conventional force constants.1-3 Compliance constants, however, are parameters which decrease in magnitude as bond strength increases; consequently, their use as bond strength parameters is not particularly satisfying. The desirability of a measure of bond strength which increases in magnitude as the bond becomes stronger, and at the same time possesses all the advantages of compliance constants is self evident. For this reason, the relaxed force constant Tii=1/Cii was introduced by Jones some time ago.4 In the present communication, this approach is generalized to include relaxed interaction force constants. The use of scattered light images is shown to be an attractive method for the characterization of optofluidic waveguides. The method is shown to be capable of measuring waveguide propagation losses and transmissions between solid and liquid-core structures. To establish a continuum limit, the phase structure is studied and the order of phase transition is determined by various methods. By taking into account the finite-size effect rationally in the framework of the Hartree-Fock theory, compression properties at zero and finite temperatures of finite nuclear matter are investigated with the Skyrme force SKM*. Using the skyrme energy density formalism, a pocket formula is introduced for barrier heights and positions of 95 fusion reactions(48≤ZPZT≤1520) with respect to the charge and mass numbers of the interacting nuclei. It is shown that the parameterized values of RBand VBare able to reproduce the corresponding experimental data with good accuracy. Moreover, the absolute errors of our formulas are less than those obtained using the analytical parametrization forms of the fusion barrier based on the proximity versions. The ability of the parameterized forms of the barrier heights and its positions to reproduce the experimental data of the fusion cross section have been analyzed using the Wong model.  相似文献
