A gas chromatography-atomic absorption spectrometric (GC-AAS) method has been developed for the determination of trace butyltin compounds in sea water. Aqueous butyltin compounds were reduced to the volatile hydride forms by NaBH4 and were extracted with dichloromethane simultaneously. The dichloromethane extract was concentrated under reduced pressure, followed by direct injection into the GC-AAS system for analysis. The butyltin species were separated with a 2-m glass column packed with 2% OV-101 on Chromosorb G HP (100-120 mesh). Following GC separation, each species was transferred into an electrothermally heated (800 °C) quartz furnace for atomization. The tin atoms produced from individual butyltin compound were detected at 224.6 nm by an atomic absorption spectrometer. With a sea water sample (1 L), the detection limits (3σ) for monobutyltin, dibutyltin and tributyltin were approximately 20, 20 and 70 ng Sn L?1, respectively. The method has been applied to the analysis of trace butyltin compounds in the sea water of Keelung Harbor.  相似文献

The highly qualified primary method of species-specific isotope dilution analysis has been employed in this work to evaluate for the first time the levels of butyltin compounds in the estuary of the river Eo (Northwest Spain) where there is, since many years, a high oyster farming activity. A spike solution containing mono-, di- and tributyltin enriched in 119Sn allowed the simultaneous determination of the three compounds in different marine environmental and biological samples collected in this area (seawater samples, sediments and biological tissues of four different marine species). The results obtained in this work showed toxic TBT levels for many marine species in 45% of the seawater samples analyzed whereas significant organotin concentrations were found to be obtained only in one of the sediments analyzed. On the other hand, TBT levels ranging from 20 to almost 200 ng g− 1 (dry weight) were obtained in the different biological tissues analyzed demonstrating the bioaccumulation of organotin compounds in certain marine species.  相似文献

The performance of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) applied to the determination of butyltin compounds in sediment samples is systematically evaluated. Matrix effects and influence of blank signals on the detection limits of the method are studied in detail. The interval of linear response is also evaluated in order to assess the applicability of the method to sediments polluted with butyltin compounds over a large range of concentrations. Advantages and drawbacks of including an SPME step, instead of the classic liquid–liquid extraction of the derivatized analytes, in the determination of butyltin compounds in sediment samples are considered in terms of achieved detection limits and experimental effort. Analytes were extracted from the samples by sonication using glacial acetic acid. An aliquot of the centrifuged extract was placed on a vial where compounds were ethylated and concentrated on a PDMS fiber using the headspace mode. Determinations were carried out using GC-MIP AED.  相似文献

A new method for the speciation of butyltin compounds by solid phase extraction and direct injection using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is described. The compounds were complexed with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate and retained on a C60 sorbent column. The neutral chelates of butyltin compounds were eluted with ethyl acetate containing NaBPr4 as derivatising reagent. The main analytical figures of merit of the proposed method for 10 ml of sample are: linear range 0.2-35 ng/g expressed as Sn; limits of detection, 0.07, 0.09 and 0.10 ng/g as Sn for monobutyltin, dibutyltin and tributyltin, respectively. No interferences from metal ions such as Zn2+, Fe3+, Sb3t, Pb2+, Ni2+ and Mn2+ were observed in the determination of organotin compounds. The validation of method was performed out by the analysis of a standard reference sediment (CRM 462). The method was also applied to the determination of butyltin compounds in marine sediment samples.  相似文献

In 1990 the Dutch government banned the use of tributyltin-containing antifouling paint for ships up to 25m long. Concentrations of dissolved (<0.45 μm) tributyltin and its degradation products di- and mono-butyltin were determined in six selected marinas during three consecutive years with a frequency of five times a year, starting in 1990. The highest butyltin concentrations were found in Scharendijke located in the salt water lake Grevelingen: up to 2500 ng dm?3. In tidal-water marinas butyltin concentrations were in the order of 50–300 ng dm?3, depending on the boating and dredging activity. In some marinas higher butyltin concentrations were found during the summer period, probably indicating the illegal use of tributyltin-containing antifouling paints. No clear trend of decrease in dissolved tributyltin concentrations in the different marinas has been found. Due to the equilibrium between the butyltins dissolved in the water and the butyltins adsorbed onto the sediment, water concentrations will remain more or less constant.  相似文献

In this study a rapid solid phase extraction (SPE) procedure was developed to minimize the effect of different sulfur species for the determination of butyltin in sediments. The organosulfur species and organotins were firstly retained on C8 cartridges and then organotins were selectively eluted and analyzed by gas chromatography-pulsed flame photometric detection (GC-PFPD). Optimal conditions for the SPE procedure were obtained using an experimental design approach. The method's accuracy was established by analyzing a certified reference material (CRM), BCR-646 freshwater sediment. The experimental values were found to be in agreement with the assigned values for butyltins. Finally, complex sediment samples collected from a Chilean harbor were analyzed using this methodology to demonstrate its analytical potential for the determination of butyltin in environmental samples.  相似文献

Forty-eight vinegar samples including white vinegar,rice vinegar and mature vinegar were collected from several markets in Beijing.Butyltin compounds were determined by headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled with gas chromatography and flame photometric detector after in situ ethylation with sodium tetraethylborate.Butyltin species were detected in sixteen vinegar samples and ranged from 0.012 to 14.10 μg Sn L 1.The detection rate of white vinegar is higher than that of rice vinegar and mature vinegar.Vinegar samples with relatively high butyltin concentration(>1.5 μg Sn L 1) were those stored in plastic bags,indicating that the plastic bag was one of the possible sources of butyltin contamination.This was further confirmed by the leaching experiments of three selected plastic bags,and monobutyltin was detected in the leaching solvents.According to the estimation,the average daily intake of total butyltin compounds through vinegar consumption is about 0.04 ng Sn/kg b.w.,much lower than the Tolerable Daily Intake(TDI) of 100 ng Sn/kg b.w.set by the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA).  相似文献

Three different sample pretreatment methods (methanolic HCl with or without tropolone and enzymic extraction) and two final determination procedures (GC–MS and GC–QFAAS) have been applied independently to the determination of butyltin compounds in two mussel samples polluted at different levels. 通过紫外(ultraviolet,UV)光谱和圆二色(circular dichroism,CD)光谱,研究了丁基锡化合物(一丁基锡、二丁基锡和三丁基锡)与脱氧核糖核酸(deoxyribonucleic acid,DNA)的作用方式以及时间和浓度的影响。结果显示丁基锡化合物与DNA的作用是双重的,既作用于DNA的碱基,对双螺旋结构有一定影响,又作用于DNA的磷酸基团,使构象发生变化。但是,丁基锡化合物与脱氧核糖核酸作用的程度和方式与丁基锡种类、时间和浓度等因素有关。一丁基锡倾向于与磷酸基团作用,三丁基锡倾向于与碱基作用,而二丁基锡与两者作用程度相近。短时间内,丁基锡化合物的作用位点通常是DNA的碱基;长时间时,则作用位点往往是DNA的磷酸基团。低浓度的丁基锡化合物倾向与DNA的碱基结合,高浓度的丁基锡化合物倾向与DNA的磷酸基团结合。  相似文献

A standard GC-MS instrument with electron impact ionisation has been used to develop a fast, simple and reliable method for the simultaneous determination of monobutyltin (MBT), dibutyltin (DBT) and tributyltin (TBT) in water samples. Isotope dilution analysis (IDA) is used for the determination of species, taking advantage of a commercially available spike solution containing a mixture of MBT, DBT and TBT enriched in 119Sn. Method detection limits for 100-mL samples were between 0.18 and 0.25 ng L−1 for the three butyltin compounds with typical RSD between 2 and 4% at levels between 100 and 10 ng L−1, respectively. Recovery of tin species in spiked samples (natural water, wastewater and seawater) was quantitative. The stability of butyltin compounds in collected seawater samples was also studied. The addition of a 1% (v/v) glacial acetic acid preserved tin species in the samples for at least 5 days at room temperature. The IDA method was finally implemented in a routine testing laboratory and it was subsequently accredited by the Spanish National Accreditation Body according to the requirements of UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025.  相似文献

The extraction of six tetraalkyltin and seven ionic organotin compounds from spiked topsoil samples with supercritical carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide modified with 5 percent methanol was investigated. Analysis of the soil extracts was performed by gas chromatography with atomic emission detection. Retention times, minimum detectable concentrations, and detector linear ranges are included for nine organotin compounds (seven of the nine compounds were derivatized with n-pentylmagnesium bromide prior to gas chromatographic analysis). A 23 factorial experimental design was used to study the effect of three variables (pressure, temperature, and extraction time) on compound recovery. The results indicate that the tetraalkyltin compounds are extracted from topsoil samples with recoveries ranging from 90 to 110 percent. Recoveries for the ionic organotin compounds ranged from 50 to 75 percent for trimethyltin chloride, triethyltin bromide, and tributyltin iodide; they were below 20 percent for dimethyltin dichloride, dibutyltin dichloride, diphenyltin dichloride, and butyltin trichloride. When sodium diethyldithiocarbamate was added to the soil samples prior to extraction, followed by extraction with carbon dioxide modified with 5 percent methanol, recoveries ranged from 70 to 90 percent for trimethyltin chloride, triethyltin bromide, dimethyltin dichloride, tributyltin iodide, and dibutyltin dichloride; recoveries were approximately 40 percent for butyltin trichloride and diphenyltin dichloride.  相似文献

The fragmentation patterns of butyltin compounds (mono-, di-, and tributyltin) in an electron impact ion source were studied using an isotope pattern reconstruction algorithm with emphasis on isotope ratio measurements from molecular clusters. For this purpose, standards of natural tin isotope abundance and a (119)Sn-enriched mixture of the three compounds were both ethylated and propylated using sodium tetraalkylborates. The corresponding mass spectra of the various tetraalkyltin compounds prepared were obtained by GC/MS after their extraction with hexane.The results showed that pure interference-free molecular clusters were obtained only for certain R(3)Sn(+) ions where no isobaric overlap with R(2)SnH(+) ions occurred (e.g. BuEt(2)Sn(+) overlaps with Bu(2)SnH(+)). These ions are ideal candidates for accurate Sn isotope ratio measurements, while isotope pattern perturbing interferences are observed for other molecular fragments down to Sn(.)(+). Isotope pattern reconstruction algorithm thus can be used as an analytical tool to ensure the absence of molecular interferences--a requirement for accurate isotope ratio measurements from molecular clusters. The relevance of these studies for the determination of butyltin compounds in environmental samples by isotope dilution GC/MS is also discussed.  相似文献

There have been many methods available for the determination of butyltin compounds in sediment. The variations of these methods are not in the methods of determination but rather in the extraction of these compounds from the complex matrices. All of these methods have not been critically compared or evaluated, mainly because of the lack of a suitable reference sediment for butyltin compounds. Recently, the National Research Council of Canada has introduced a reference sediment (PACS-1) which contains certified values of butyltin compounds. The present study compares the recoveries of ten extraction techniques for butyltin species using ethylation derivatization and GC AA as the method of determination. Of these ten methods, only four were found satisfactory for extraction of the dibutyltin and tributyltin species. None of the methods evaluated, however, could quantitatively extract monobutyltin from sediment.  相似文献

A HPLC/GF AA procedure based on the use of C-18 columns is described for the quantitation of butyltin species in marine samples. When a mass spectrometer was used as detector (HPLC MS), evidence was obtained for the presence of other tin compounds in the samples. Extracts of samples were treated with CH3MgBr and examined by using GC MS; the presence of BunSnMe4?n (n = 3–1, Bu = butyl) and CynSnMe4?n (n = 3,2, Cy = cyclohexyl) was confirmed in the derivatized seawater, bivalve flesh, and bivalve shell samples. Quantitative data are given for butyl- and cyclohexyl-tin species in seawater and the surface microlayer, and oyster flesh.  相似文献

A method is described for the analysis of solutions containing inorganic tin and butyltin compounds. It can be used to determine total tin at a concentration of 20 ng dm?3 using a 5 dm3 sample. The method is based on solvent extraction with dichloromethane containing tropolone and determination of the tin as inorganic tin by atomic absorption spectroscopy using electrothermal atomization. The extracted butyltin compounds can be separated by paper chromatography and the tin content of the individual spot determined as above. Observations on the stability of butyltin compounds in water at the ~2 mg dm?3 (Sn) are included.  相似文献

A hydride generation gas phase molecular absorption spectrometry (HG-GPMAS) method for the determination of butyltin compound is optimized by experimental design. This method is based on the conversion of the butyltin chloride into gaseous monobutyltin hydride by adding a sodium tetrahydroborate (III) solution. The hydride generated is collected in a liquid nitrogen cryogenic trap. This is revolatilized, driven to the quartz flow cell and measured with GPMAS with diode array detection. A Plackett-Burmann design is used for the study of the factors that influence the absorption signal. The optimization of the parameters affecting the production and collection of the monobutyltin hydride is achieved using a central composite design. Partial least square (PLS), multiple linear regression (MLR) and univariate calibration are applied to the spectra obtained. The quality parameters (detection limits and precision) for the butyltin chloride are reported. An interference study is made.  相似文献

Butyltin compounds are widespread contaminants which have also been found in some wines, determined by liquid-liquid extraction followed by alkylation with a Grignard reagent and gas chromatography-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) analysis. A promising alternative to this extraction/derivatization method is the one-step tetraethylborate in situ ethylation/solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) method. In this work, a SPME-GC-MS method for the determination of butyltin compounds in wine was optimised. The optimised parameters concerned the pre-treatment with tetramethylammonium hydroxide, matrix modification with sodium chloride, tetraethylborate concentration, extraction time and temperature, and the GC separation program. The analytical figures of merit of the optimised method (range, limit of detection (LOD) and reproducibility) were evaluated. The sensitivity (range 20-1421 kcounts μg−1 l−1 as Sn) and LOD (range, 0.01-0.2 μg l−1 as Sn) depended greatly on the butyltin species to be measured and on the type of wine. For the tested species (monobutyltin, dibutyltin and tributyltin) the highest sensitivities were achieved for Port wine samples, followed by red wine>white wine>white Verde wine. The method allowed acceptable repeatability (relative standard deviation (R.S.D.), 6-8%; n=4) and reproducibility (R.S.D., 8-9%; n=3).  相似文献

The dissolution of aluminium in sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid in the presence of butyltin trichloride as corrosion inhibitor has been studied by hydrogen evolution and thermometric methods. Experimental findings indicate that the inhibition effect of butyltin trichloride takes place through an adsorption mechanism following the Frumkin's isotherm. Butyltin trichloride acts as a weakly adsorbed inhibitor in NaOH and as a strongly adsorbed inhibitor in hydrochloric acid medium.  相似文献
