Bijective maps preserving commutators on a solvable classical group

Let F be a field, T n the group consisting of all n × n invertible upper triangular matrices over F . In this article we classify bijective maps φ from T n to itself satisfying φ[x, y] = [φ(x), φ(y)]. We show that each such map differs only slightly from an automorphism of T n .     

Linear maps leaving the alternating group invariant

Let A_n be the group of n×n even permutation matrices, and let V_n be the real linear space spanned by A_n. The purpose of this note is to characterize those linear operators φ on V_n satisfying φ(A_n)=A_n. This answers a question raised by C.K. Li, B.S. Tam, N.K. Tsing [Linear Algebra Appl., to appear].     

Linear maps preserving group majorization

A necessary and sufficient condition for a linear map to preserve group majorizations is given. The condition is applied to prove some preservation results.     

Factorization and symplectic uniton numbers for harmonic maps into symplectic groups

It is proved that any harmonic map ϕ : Ω →Sp(N) from a simply connected domain Ω ⊆R ²⋃ | ∞ | into the symplectic groupSp(N) ⊂U(2N) with finite uniton number can be factorized into a product of a finite number of symplectic unitons. Based on this factorization, it is proved that the minimal symplectic uniton number of ϕ is not larger thanN, and the minimal uniton number of ϕ is not larger than 2N - 1. The latter has been shown in literature in a quite different way.     

Nonlinear maps preserving Lie products on factor von Neumann algebras

In this paper, we prove that every bijective map preserving Lie products from a factor von Neumann algebra into another factor von Neumann algebra is of the form A→ψ(A)+ξ(A), where is an additive isomorphism or the negative of an additive anti-isomorphism and is a map with ξ(AB-BA)=0 for all .     

矩阵空间上保弱伴随矩阵的线性映射

为了刻画矩阵空间上保弱伴随矩阵的线性映射f,引入了保弱伴随矩阵的概念,以矩阵的弱伴随矩阵为不变量,得到了当n≥3时数域F上从线性矩阵空间Mn×n（F）到Mm×m（F）的保弱伴随矩阵的线性映射f的形式．     

域上两类矩阵保逆的诱导映射

令F是一个域,S_n(F)是F上所有n×n上对称矩阵的集合.用T_n(F)记F上所有n阶上三角阵的集合.首先分别给出诱导映射和保逆性的定义.然后改进了关于复对称阵保逆的主要相关结果及其证明,得到了S_n(F)保逆诱导映射的一般形式,最后借助于类序列技术和初等方法刻画了T_n(F)保逆诱导映射.它推广和改进了带有附加条件(f_(ij)(x)=0x=0)的相关结果.     

Triangle group representations and constructions of regular maps

A regular map of type {m,n} is a 2-cell embedding of a graphin an orientable surface, with the property that for any twodirected edges e and e' there exists an orientation-preservingautomorphism of the embedding that takes e onto e', and in whichthe face length and the vertex valence are m and n, respectively.Such maps are known to be in a one-to-one correspondence withtorsion-free normal subgroups of the triangle groups T(2,m,n).We first show that some of the known existence results aboutregular maps follow from residual finiteness of triangle groups.With the help of representations of triangle groups in speciallinear groups over algebraic extensions of Z we then constructivelydescribe homomorphisms from T(2,m,n)=y,z|y^m=zⁿ=(yz)²=1 intofinite groups of order at most c^r where c=c(m,n), such thatno non-identity word of length at most r in x,y is mapped ontothe identity. As an application, for any hyperbolic pair {m,n}and any r we construct a finite regular map of type {m,n} ofsize at most C^r, such that every non-contractible closed curveon the supporting surface of the map intersects the embeddedgraph in more than r points. We also show that this result isthe best possible up to determining C=C(m,n). For r>m thegraphs of the above regular maps are arc-transitive, of valencen, and of girth m; moreover, if each prime divisor of m is largerthan 2n then these graphs are non-Cayley. 2000 Mathematics SubjectClassification: 05C10, 05C25, 20F99, 20H25.     

保体上上三角幂等矩阵的诱导映射

假设T_m(D)是体D上所有上三角m×m矩阵的集合.首先分别给出诱导映射和保幂等性的定义.然后为了刻画T_m(D)的保幂等的诱导映射,提出类序列的概念,同时描述类序列的性质.最后,使用矩阵技术和初等方法,借助于分类讨论得到了T_m(D)的保幂等的诱导映射的一般形式并且给出了某些例子,用以解释某些结果之间的关系.     

Zero product preserving maps on

The main result of the paper characterizes continuous bilinear maps from C¹[0,1]×C¹[0,1] into a Banach space X with the property that (f,g)=0 whenever fg=0. This is applied to the study of zero product preserving operators on C¹[0,1], and operators on C¹[0,1] satisfying a version of the condition of the locality of an operator.     

Additive maps preserving M-P inverses of matrices over Fields

Suppose F is a field of characteristic not 2 or 3. A characterization is given for all additive maps, on the algebra of all n × n matrices over F. which preserve Moore -Penrose(M-P) Inverses of matrices.
