Nanocomposites of Ag/TiO2 nanowires with enhanced photoelectrochemical performance have been prepared by a facile solvothermal synthesis of TiO2 nanowires and subsequent photoreduction of Ag+ ions to Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) on the TiO2 nanowires. The as‐prepared nanocomposites exhibited significantly improved cathodic photocurrent responses under visible‐light illumination, which is attributed to the local electric field enhancement of plasmon resonance effect near the TiO2 surface rather than by the direct transfer of charge between the two materials. The visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic performance of these nanocomposites in the degradation of methylene blue dye was also studied, and the observed improvement in photocatalytic activity is associated with the extended light absorption range and efficient charge separation due to surface plasmon resonance effect of AgNPs.  相似文献

Visible‐light‐driven plasmonic photocatalyst Ag‐TiO2 nanocomposite hollow spheres are prepared by a template‐free chemically‐induced self‐transformation strategy under microwave‐hydrothermal conditions, followed by a photochemical reduction process under xenon lamp irradiation. The prepared samples are characterized by using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, N2 adsorption‐desorption isotherms, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, UV/Vis and Raman spectroscopy. Production of ?OH radicals on the surface of visible‐light illuminated TiO2 was detected by using a photoluminescence method with terephthalic acid as the probe molecule. The photocatalytic activity of as‐prepared samples was evaluated by photocatalytic decolorization of Rhodamine B (RhB) aqueous solution at ambient temperature under visible‐light irradiation. The results show that the surface plasmon absorption band of the silver nanoparticles supported on the TiO2 hollow spheres was red shifted, and a strong surface enhanced Raman scattering effect for the Ag‐TiO2 nanocomposite sample was observed. The prepared nanocomposite hollow spheres exhibits a highly visible‐light photocatalytic activity for photocatalytic degradation of RhB in water, and their photocatalytic activity is higher than that of pure TiO2 and commercial Degussa P25 (P25) powders. Especially, the as‐prepared Ag‐TiO2 nanocomposite hollow spheres at the nominal atomic ratio of silver to titanium ( R ) of 2 showed the highest photocatalytic activity, which exceeds that of P25 by a factor of more than 2.  相似文献

A novel single‐source precursor NaGd(TFA)4(diglyme) (TFA=trifluoroacetate) was synthesized, characterized thoroughly, and used to obtain the hexagonal phase of NaGdF4 nanoparticles as an efficient matrix for lanthanide‐doped upconverting nanocrystals (NCs) that convert near‐infrared radiation into shorter‐wavelength UV/visible light. These NCs were then used to prepare well‐characterized TiO2@NaGdF4:Yb3+,Tm3+ nanocomposites to extend the absorption range of the TiO2 photocatalyst from the UV to the IR region. While the visible/near IR part of the photoluminescent spectra remains almost unaffected by the presence of TiO2, the UV part is strongly quenched due to the absorption of TiO2 above its gap at approximately 380 nm by energy transfer or FRET. Preliminary results on the photocatalytic activity of the above obtained nanocomposites are presented.  相似文献

An Au/TiO2 nanostructure was constructed to obtain a highly efficient visible‐light‐driven photocatalyst. The design was based on a three‐dimensional ordered assembly of thin‐shell Au/TiO2 hollow nanospheres (Au/TiO2‐3 DHNSs). The designed photocatalysts exhibit not only a very high surface area but also photonic behavior and multiple light scattering, which significantly enhances visible‐light absorption. Thus Au/TiO2‐3 DHNSs exhibit a visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic activity that is several times higher than conventional Au/TiO2 nanopowders.  相似文献

Constructing a porous structure in photocatalysts is an effective strategy for improving the photocatalytic activity because of its enhanced molecule transfer capability and light capturing efficiency. In this work, a hierarchical macro‐/mesoporous ZnS/TiO2 composite with macrochannels was successfully synthesized without using templates by the simple dropwise addition of an ethanol solution of tetrabutyl titanate and zinc acetate into a sodium sulfide aqueous solution, which was then calcined at 450°C. Compared with pure TiO2, the ordered porous ZnS/TiO2 composite exhibited an enhanced photocatalytic activity on methylene blue removal under UV‐light irradiation. The results indicate that the macro‐/mesoporous structure, the large specific surface area, and the heterostructure combination between ZnS and TiO2 play a synergistic effect on the enhanced photocatalytic activity via improving the light absorption and the diffusion of organic molecules, providing more reactive sites for the photocatalytic reaction and improving the separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs, respectively. Radical trapping experiments demonstrated that holes (h+) and superoxide anion radicals (O2) play an important role in the photocatalytic oxidation process.  相似文献

Hierarchical macro‐/mesoporous N‐doped TiO2/graphene oxide (N‐TiO2/GO) composites were prepared without using templates by the simple dropwise addition mixed solution of tetrabutyl titanate and ethanol containg graphene oxide (GO) to the ammonia solution, and then calcined at 350 °C. The as‐prepared samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer‐Emmett‐Teller (BET) surface area, X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and UV‐Vis absorption spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange in an aqueous solution under visible‐light irradiation. The results show that N‐TiO2/GO composites exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity. GO content exhibited an obvious influence on photocatalytic performance, and the optimal GO addition content was 1 wt%. The enhanced photocatalytic activity could be attributed to the synergetic effects of three factors including the improved visible light absorption, the hierarchical macro‐mesoporous structure, and the efficient charge separation by GO.  相似文献

As a typical photocatalyst for CO2 reduction, practical applications of TiO2 still suffer from low photocatalytic efficiency and limited visible‐light absorption. Herein, a novel Au‐nanoparticle (NP)‐decorated ordered mesoporous TiO2 (OMT) composite (OMT‐Au) was successfully fabricated, in which Au NPs were uniformly dispersed on the OMT. Due to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect derived from the excited Au NPs, the TiO2 shows high photocatalytic performance for CO2 reduction under visible light. The ordered mesoporous TiO2 exhibits superior material and structure, with a high surface area that offers more catalytically active sites. More importantly, the three‐dimensional transport channels ensure the smooth flow of gas molecules, highly efficient CO2 adsorption, and the fast and steady transmission of hot electrons excited from the Au NPs, which lead to a further improvement in the photocatalytic performance. These results highlight the possibility of improving the photocatalysis for CO2 reduction under visible light by constructing OMT‐based Au‐SPR‐induced photocatalysts.  相似文献

Visible‐light‐driven Ag/AgBr/TiO2/activated carbon (AC) composite was prepared by solgel method coupled with photoreduction method. For comparison, TiO2, TiO2/AC, and Ag/AgBr/TiO2 were also synthesized. Their characteristics were analyzed by XRD, SEM‐EDS, TG‐DSC and UV–vis techniques. Photocatalytic activity and antibacterial performance under visible‐light irradiation were investigated by ICP‐AES, ATR‐FT‐IR and spectrophotometry methods using methylene blue and Escherichia coli as target systems, respectively. The results showed that Ag/AgBr was successfully deposited on anatase TiO2/AC surface, and exhibited a distinct light absorption in the visible region. Ag/AgBr/TiO2/AC displayed excellent antibacterial performance both in dark and under visible‐light illumination. The growth of E. coli cell was inhibited in the presence of Ag/AgBr/TiO2/AC in dark. Moreover, upon visible‐light illumination, a significant damage of cell membrane was noticed. Ag/AgBr/TiO2/AC was also shown higher photocatalytic efficiency for methylene blue degradation than those of TiO2, TiO2/AC, and Ag/AgBr/TiO2. This is attributed to the synergetic effect between AC and Ag/AgBr/TiO2, of which AC acts as the role of increasing reaction areas, continuous enriching, and transferring the adsorbed MB molecules to the surface of supported photocatalysts, and the Ag/AgBr/TiO2 acts as a highly active photocatalyst for degrading MB molecules under visible‐light irradiation.  相似文献

Anatase TiO2 nanosheets with exposed {001} facets have been controllably modified under non‐thermal dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma with various working gas, including Ar, H2, and NH3. The obtained TiO2 nanosheets possess a unique crystalline core/amorphous shell structure (TiO2@TiO2?x), which exhibit the improved visible and near‐infrared light absorption. The types of dopants (oxygen vacancy/surface Ti3+/substituted N) in oxygen‐deficient TiO2 can be tuned by controlling the working gases during plasma discharge. Both surface Ti3+ and substituted N were doped into the lattice of TiO2 through NH3 plasma discharge, whereas the oxygen vacancy or Ti3+ (along with the oxygen vacancy) was obtained after Ar or H2 plasma treatment. The TiO2@TiO2?x from NH3 plasma with a green color shows the highest photocatalytic activity under visible‐light irradiation compared with the products from Ar plasma or H2 plasma due to the synergistic effect of reduction and simultaneous nitridation in the NH3 plasma.  相似文献

Nitrogen-doped TiO2 nanoparticle photocatalysts were obtained by an annealing method with gaseous ammonia and nitrogen. The influence of dopant N on the crystal structure was characterized by XRD, XPS, BET, TEM and UV-Vis spectra. The results of XRD indicate that, the crystal phase transforms from anatase to rutile structure gradually with increase of annealing temperature from 300 to 700 ℃. XPS studies indicate that the nitrogen atom enters the TiO2 lattice and occupies the position of oxygen atom. Agglomeration of particles is found in TEM images after annealing. BET results show that the specific surface areas of N-doped samples from 44.61 to 38.27 m2/g are smaller than that of Degussa TiO2. UV-Vis spectra indicate that the absorption threshold shifts gradually with increase of annealing temperature, which shows absorption in the visible region. The influence of annealing condition on the photocatalytic property has been researched over water decomposition to hydrogen, indicating that nitrogen raises the photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution, and the modified TiO2 annealed for 2 h at 400 ℃ under gas of NH3/N2 (V/V=1/2) mixture shows better efficiency of hydrogen evolution. Furthermore, the N-doped TiO2 nanoparticle catalysts have obvious visible light activity, evidenced by hydrogen evolution under visible light (λ>400 nm) irradiation. However, the catalytic activity under visible light irradiation is absent for Degussa as reference and the N-doped TiO2 annealed at 700 ℃.  相似文献

TiO2 nanotubes were successfully co‐doped with sulfur and Ti3+ states using a facile annealing treatment in H2/H2S gas mixture. The obtained nanotubes were investigated for their photocatalytic performance and characterized by SEM, XRD, XPS, EPR, IPCE, IMPS and Mott‐Schottky measurements. The synthesized co‐doped TiO2 nanotubes show an enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production rate compared to tubes that were treated only in pure H2 or H2S atmosphere—this without the presence of any co‐catalyst. It was found that sulfur in co‐doped TiO2 exists in the form of S2? and a small quantity of S4+/S6+, which leads to a narrowing of the band gap. However, the enhanced absorption of light in the visible range is not the key reason for the improved photocatalytic performance. We ascribe the enhanced photocatalytic activity to a synergetic effect of S mid‐gap states and disordered Ti3+ defects that facilitate photo generated electron transfer.  相似文献

Exploiting advanced photocatalysts under visible light is of primary significance for the development of environmentally relevant photocatalytic decontamination processes. In this study, the ionic liquid (IL), 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, was employed for the first time as both a structure‐directing agent and a dopant for the synthesis of novel fluorinated B/C‐codoped anatase TiO2 nanocrystals (TIL) through hydrothermal hydrolysis of tetrabutyl titanate. These TIL nanocrystals feature uniform crystallite and pore sizes and are stable with respect to phase transitions, crystal ripening, and pore collapse upon calcination treatment. More significantly, these nanocrystals possess abundant localized states and strong visible‐light absorption in a wide range of wavelengths. Because of synergic interactions between titania and codopants, the calcined TIL samples exhibited high visible‐light photocatalytic activity in the presence of oxidizing Rhodamine B (RhB). In particular, 300 °C‐calcined TIL was most photocatalytically active; its activity was much higher than that of TiO1.98N0.02 and reference samples (TW) obtained under identical conditions in the absence of ionic liquid. Furthermore, the possible photocatalytic oxidation mechanism and the active species involved in the RhB degradation photocatalyzed by the TIL samples were primarily investigated experimentally by using different scavengers. It was found that both holes and electrons, as well as their derived active species, such as .OH, contributed to the RhB degradation occurring on the fluorinated B/C‐codoped TiO2 photocatalyst, in terms of both the photocatalytic reaction dynamics and the reaction pathway. The synthesis of the aforementioned novel photocatalyst and the identification of specific active species involved in the photodegradation of dyes could shed new light on the design and synthesis of semiconductor materials with enhanced photocatalytic activity towards organic pollutants.  相似文献

Graphene oxide (GO) and silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) sequentially decorated nitrogen‐doped titania nanotube array (N‐TiO2 NTA) had been designed as visible‐light‐driven self‐cleaning surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate for a recyclable SERS detection application. N‐TiO2 NTA was fabricated by anodic oxidation and then doping nitrogen treatment in ammonia atmosphere, acting as a visible‐light‐driven photocatalyst and supporting substrate. Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA was prepared by decorating GO monolayer through an impregnation process and then depositing Ag NPs through a polyol process on the surface of N‐TiO2 NTA, acting as the collection of organic molecule and Raman enhancement. The SERS activity of Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA was evaluated using methyl blue as an organic probe molecule, revealing the analytical enhancement factor of 4.54 × 104. Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA was applied as active SERS substrate to determine a low‐affinity organic pollutant of bisphenol A, revealing the detection limit of as low as 5 × 10?7 m . Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA could also achieve self‐cleaning function for a recycling utilization through visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic degradation of the adsorbed organic molecules. Ag/GO/N‐TiO2 NTA has been successfully reused for five times without an obvious decay in accuracy and sensitivity for organic molecule detection. The unique properties of this SERS substrate enable it to have a promising application for the sensitive and recyclable SERS detection of low‐affinity organic molecules. The influence of NH3-treating temperature on the visible light photocatalytic activity of N-doped P25-TiO2 as well as the relationship between the surface composition structure of TiO2 and its visible light photocatalytic activity were investigated. The results showed that N-doped P25-TiO2 treated at 600°C had the highest activity. The structure of P25-TiO2 was converted from anatase to rutile at 700°C. Moreover, no N-doping was detected at the surface of P25-TiO2. There was no simply linear relationship between the visible light photocatalytic activity and the concentration of doped nitrogen, and visible light absorption. The visible light photocatalytic activity of N-doped P25-TiO2 was mainly influenced by the synergistic action of the following factors: (i) the formation of the single-electron-trapped oxygen vacancies (denoted as Vo·); (ii) the doped nitrogen on the surface of TiO2; (iii) the anatase TiO2 structure.  相似文献

A ruthenium complex, porphyrin sensitizer, fullerene acceptor molecular pentad has been synthesized and a long‐lived hole–electron pair was achieved in aqueous solution by photoinduced multistep electron transfer: Upon irradiation by visible light, the excited‐state of a zinc porphyrin (1ZnP*) was quenched by fullerene (C60) to afford a radical ion pair, 1,3(ZnP.+‐C60.−). This was followed by the subsequent electron transfer from a water oxidation catalyst unit (RuII) to ZnP.+ to give the long‐lived charge‐separated state, RuIII‐ZnP‐C60.−, with a lifetime of 14 μs. The ZnP worked as a visible‐light‐harvesting antenna, while the C60 acted as an excellent electron acceptor. As a consequence, visible‐light‐driven water oxidation by this integrated photosynthetic model compound was achieved in the presence of sacrificial oxidant and redox mediator.  相似文献

The electronic structure and photoactivation process in N‐doped TiO2 is investigated. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), photoluminescence (PL), and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) are employed to monitor the change of optical absorption ability and the formation of N species and defects in the heat‐ and photoinduced N‐doped TiO2 catalyst. Under thermal treatment below 573 K in vacuum, no nitrogen dopant is removed from the doped samples but oxygen vacancies and Ti3+ states are formed to enhance the optical absorption in the visible‐light region, especially at wavelengths above 500 nm with increasing temperature. In the photoactivation processes of N‐doped TiO2, the DRS absorption and PL emission in the visible spectral region of 450–700 nm increase with prolonged irradiation time. The EPR results reveal that paramagnetic nitrogen species (Ns.), oxygen vacancies with one electron (Vo.), and Ti3+ ions are produced with light irradiation and the intensity of Ns. species is dependent on the excitation light wavelength and power. The combined characterization results confirm that the energy level of doped N species is localized above the valence band of TiO2 corresponding to the main absorption band at 410 nm of N‐doped TiO2, but oxygen vacancies and Ti3+ states as defects contribute to the visible‐light absorption above 500 nm in the overall absorption of the doped samples. Thus, a detailed picture of the electronic structure of N‐doped TiO2 is proposed and discussed. On the other hand, the transfer of charge carriers between nitrogen species and defects is reversible on the catalyst surface. The presence of oxygen‐vacancy‐related defects leads to quenching of paramagnetic Ns. species but they stabilize the active nitrogen species Ns?.  相似文献

The need for renewable energy focuses attention on hydrogen obtained by using sustainable and green methods. The sustainable compound glycerol can be used for hydrogen production by heterogeneous photocatalysis. A novel approach involves the promotion of the TiO2 photocatalyst with a binary combination of nitrogen and transition metal. We report the synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of the new N‐M‐TiO2 photocatalysts (M=none, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu), and the photocatalytic reforming of glycerol to hydrogen under ambient conditions and near‐UV or visible light versus benchmark P25 TiO2. In units of activity μmol m?2 h?1, N‐Ni‐TiO2 is five‐fold more active than P25, and N‐Cu‐TiO2 is 44‐fold more active. The photocatalytic activity of N‐M‐TiO2 increases from Cr to Co and Ni, whereas the photoluminescence decreases; the change in activity is due to the modulation of charge recombination.  相似文献

Ag/mesoporous black TiO2 nanotubes heterojunctions (Ag‐MBTHs) were fabricated through a surface hydrogenation, wet‐impregnation and photoreduction strategy. The as‐prepared Ag‐MBTHs possess a relatively high specific surface area of ≈85 m2 g?1 and an average pore size of ≈13.2 nm. The Ag‐MBTHs with a narrow band gap of ≈2.63 eV extend the photoresponse from UV to the visible‐light and near‐infrared (NIR) region. They exhibit excellent visible‐NIR‐driven photothermal catalytic and photocatalytic performance for complete conversion of nitro aromatic compounds (100 %) and mineralization of highly toxic phenol (100 %). The enhancement can be attributed to the mesoporous hollow structures increasing the light multi‐refraction, the Ti3+ in frameworks and the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect of plasmonic Ag nanoparticles favoring light‐harvesting and spatial separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs, which is confirmed by transient fluorescence. The fabrication of this SPR‐enhanced visible‐NIR‐driven Ag‐MBTHs catalyst may provide new insights for designing other high‐performance heterojunctions as photocatalytic and photothermal catalytic nanomaterials.  相似文献

TiO2 nanoparticles are of great current interest for applications in photo‐electronic materials including light‐energy conversion, artificial photosynthetic systems as well as photocatalysis. The success of these applications relies on the exciton recombination dynamics and visible‐light sensitivity of the TiO2 nanomaterials. Thus, in order to develop the highly efficient photo‐electronic materials absorbing visible light, different low dimensional TiO2 nanostructures such as nanodiscs, nanofibers and nanochains were synthesized, and thereafter their surfaces were modified by incorporating with Sn‐porphyrins and heteropoly acid. The optoelectronic properties of the surface‐modified nanomaterials were investigated with regard to the optical properties and the surface exciton dynamics by using both steady‐state and ultrafast time‐resolved laser spectroscopic techniques including single nanoparticle photoluminescence technique. These results were correlated with the photo‐electronic properties including photocatalytic activities and solar cell efficiencies, indicating that the electron transfer mechanism in the modified nanostructures may be similar to the “Z‐scheme” of the plant photosynthetic system so that both photocatalytic activity and solar cell efficiencies were synergistically enhanced by using two color illumination.  相似文献

Bi‐ and Y‐codoped TiO2 photocatalysts were synthesized through a sol‐gel method, and they were applied in the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to formic acid under visible light irradiation. The results revealed that, after doping Bi and Y, the surface area of TiO2 was increased from 5.4 to 93.1 m2/g when the mole fractions of doping Bi and Y were 1.0% and 0.5%, respectively, and the lattice structures of the photocatalysts changed and the oxygen vacancies on the surface of the photocatalysts formed, which would act as the electron capture centers and slow down the recombination of photo‐induced electron and hole. The photocurrent spectra also proved that the photocatalysts had better electronic transmission capacities. The HCOOH yield in CO2 photocatalytic reduction was 747.82 μmol/gcat by using 1% Bi‐0.5% Y‐TiO2 as a photocatalyst. The HCOOH yield was 1.17 times higher than that by using 1% Bi‐TiO2, and 2.23 times higher than that by using pure TiO2. Furthermore, the 1% Bi‐0.5% Y‐TiO2 showed the highest apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) of 4.45%.  相似文献
