On spinors     
For a 2^n-dimensional complex Hermitian vector space S, we prove that any unitary basis of S can be explained as an augmented spinor structure on S. By using this explanation, a SpinC(2n)- action on S is equivalent to an action on a subset of augmented spinor structures. The latter action is a little easy to be understood, and is shown in the last part of this paper. Such kind of understanding could be of use to the discussions of Hermitian manifolds and spin manifolds, especially could help to find connections and elliptical operators.  相似文献

An implicit Euler finite‐volume scheme for a spinorial matrix drift‐diffusion model for semiconductors is analyzed. The model consists of strongly coupled parabolic equations for the electron density matrix or, alternatively, of weakly coupled equations for the charge and spin‐vector densities, coupled to the Poisson equation for the electric potential. The equations are solved in a bounded domain with mixed Dirichlet–Neumann boundary conditions. The charge and spin‐vector fluxes are approximated by a Scharfetter–Gummel discretization. The main features of the numerical scheme are the preservation of nonnegativity and bounds of the densities and the dissipation of the discrete free energy. The existence of a bounded discrete solution and the monotonicity of the discrete free energy are proved. For undoped semiconductor materials, the numerical scheme is unconditionally stable. The fundamental ideas are reformulations using spin‐up and spin‐down densities and certain projections of the spin‐vector density, free energy estimates, and a discrete Moser iteration. Furthermore, numerical simulations of a simple ferromagnetic‐layer field‐effect transistor in two space dimensions are presented. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A complete and explicit classification of all independent local conservation laws of Maxwell's equations in four dimensional Minkowski space is given. Besides the elementary linear conservation laws, and the well-known quadratic conservation laws associated to the conserved stress-energy and zilch tensors, there are also chiral quadratic conservation laws which are associated to a new conserved tensor. The chiral conservation laws possess odd parity under the electric–magnetic duality transformation of Maxwell's equations, in contrast to the even parity of the stress-energy and zilch conservation laws. The main result of the classification establishes that every local conservation law of Maxwell's equations is equivalent to a linear combination of the elementary conservation laws, the stress-energy and zilch conservation laws, the chiral conservation laws, and their higher order extensions obtained by replacing the electromagnetic field tensor by its repeated Lie derivatives with respect to the conformal Killing vectors on Minkowski space. The classification is based on spinorial methods and provides a direct, unified characterization of the conservation laws in terms of Killing spinors.  相似文献

For a compact complex spin manifold M with a holomorphic isometric embed- ding into the complex projective space,the authors obtain the extrinsic estimates from above and below for eigenvalues of the Dirac operator,which depend on the data of an isometric embedding of M.Further,from the inequalities of eigenvalues,the gaps of the eigenvalues and the ratio of the eigenvalues are obtained.  相似文献

In the paper Kählerian Killing spinors are defined and their basic properties are investigated. Each Kähler manifold that admits a Kählerian Killing spinor is Einstein of odd complex dimension. Kählerian Killing spinors are a special kind of Kählerian twistor spinors. Real Kählerian Killing spinors appear for example, on closed Kähler manifolds with the smallest possible first eigenvalue of the Dirac operator. For the complex projective spaces P 2l–1 and the complex hyperbolic spaces H 2l–1 withl>1 the dimension of the space of Kählerian Killing spinors is equal to ( ). It is shown that in complex dimension 3 the complex hyperbolic space H 3 is the only simple connected complete spin Kähler manifold admitting an imaginary Kählerian Killing spinor.  相似文献

The classical theory of gravity is formulated as a gauge theory on a frame bundle with spontaneous symmetry breaking caused by the existence of Dirac fermionic fields. The pseudo-Reimannian metric (tetrad field) is the corresponding Higgs field. We consider two variants of this theory. In the first variant, gravity is represented by the pseudo-Reimannian metric as in general relativity theory; in the second variant, it is represented by the effective metric as in Logunov's relativistic theory of gravity. The configuration space, Dirac operator, and Lagrangians are constructed for both variants.  相似文献

We give a rigorous proof of the positive mass theorem for high-dimensional spacetimes with black holes if the spacetime contains an asymptotically flat spacelike spin hypersurface and satisfies the dominant energy condition along the hypersurface. We also weaken the spin structure on the spacelike hypersurface to spinc structure and give a modified positive mass theorem for spacetimes with black holes in dimensions 4, 5 and 6.  相似文献

The author studies the properties and applications of quasi-Killing spinors and quasi-twistor spinors and obtains some vanishing theorems. In particular, the author classifies all the types of quasi-twistor spinors on closed Riemannian spin manifolds. As a consequence, it is known that on a locally decomposable closed spin manifold with nonzero Ricci curvature, the space of twistor spinors is trivial. Some integrability condition for twistor spinors is also obtained.  相似文献

Bispinor Space     
In this paper, we give identifications of bispinor space with Grassmann algebra, and with Clifford algebra. The multiplication in Clifford algebra provides an action on them. The covariant Weyl (spin s = 1/2) and Maxwell (s = 1) equations in certain local charts (u, φ) of a space-time (M, g) are considered. It is shown that the condition g00(x) > 0 for all x ε u is necessary and sufficient to rewrite them in a unified manner as evolution equations δtφ = L(s)φ. Here L(s) is a linear first order differential operator on the pre—Hilbert space (C (Ut, 2s+1). (…)), where Ut ? IR3 is the image of the coordinate map of the spacelike hyper-surface t = const, and (φ, C) = ?Ut ? *Q d(3)x with a suitable Hermitian n × n- matrix Q = Q(t,x). The total energy of the spinor field ? with respect to Ut is then simply given by E = 〈?,?〉. In this way inequalities for the energy change rate with respect to time, δt|?|2 = 2Re (?, L(s)?) are obtained. As an application, the Kerr—Newman black hole is studied, yielding quantitative estimates for the energy change rate. These estimates especially confirm the energy conservation of the Weyl field and the well—known superradiance of electromagnetic waves.  相似文献

For a compact spin manifold M isometrically embedded into Euclidean space, we derive the extrinsic estimates from above and below for eigenvalues of the square of the Dirac operator, which depend on the second fundamental form of the embedding. We also show the bounds of the ratio of the eigenvalues. Since the unit sphere and the projective spaces admit the standard embedding into Euclidean spaces, we also obtain the corresponding results for their compact spin submanifolds.  相似文献

In [17] we proved a lower bound for the spectrum of the Dirac operator on quaternionic Kähler manifolds. In the present article we study the limiting case, i.e. manifolds where the lower bound is attained as an eigenvalue. We give an equivalent formulation in terms of a quaternionic Killing equation and show that the only symmetric quaternionic Kähler manifolds with smallest possible eigenvalue are the quaternionic projective spaces.  相似文献

In (Comm. Math. Phys. 188 (1997) 121–133) Herzlich proved a new positive mass theorem for Riemannian 3-manifolds (N,g) whose mean curvature of the boundary allows some positivity. In this paper we study what happens to the limit case of the theorem when, at a point of the boundary, the smallest positive eigenvalue of the Dirac operator of the boundary is strictly larger than one-half of the mean curvature (in this case the mass m(g) must be strictly positive). We prove that the mass is bounded from below by a positive constant c(g), m(g)c(g), and the equality m(g)=c(g) holds only if, outside a compact set, (N,g) is conformally flat and the scalar curvature vanishes. The constant c(g) is uniquely determined by the metric g via a Dirac-harmonic spinor.  相似文献
