The thermodynamic potential of a system of Peierls vortices in a thin superconducting film, containing radiation defects, in a perpendicular external magnetic field is calculated. The equilibrium temperature dependences of the densities of free vortices and vortices trapped by defects are found in the mean-field approximation for various magnitudes of the external field. It is shown that the equilibrium magnetization of a thin superconducting film exhibits the same features that were observed experimentally in the reversible magnetization of high-temperature superconductors. An asymptotic expression is obtained for the difference of the magnetizations of perfect and irradiated films. According to this expression, the difference depends on the pinning energy of a vortex on a defect and the density of defects. 相似文献

The structure of a vortex lattice in thin (d<λ, where d is the film thickness and λ is the London penetration depth) superconducting films is investigated in a magnetic field parallel to the film surface. It is shown that the stable configuration has the form of discrete vortex rows whose number changes discretely with an increase in the applied magnetic field. The entry fields H c1 (N) (d) for vortex rows are calculated for N=1, 2. It is shown that the structural transition in the vortex ensemble is a second-order phase transition. A simpler method (as compared to the Monte Carlo technique) is proposed for calculating the vortex lattice parameters. 相似文献

The response of superconducting Nb films with a diluted triangular and square array of holes to a perpendicular magnetic field are investigated.Due to small edge-to-edge separation of the holes,the patterned films are similar to multi-connected superconducting islands.Two regions in the magnetoresistance R(H) curves can be identified according to the field intervals of the resistance minima.Moreover,in between these two regions,variation of the minima spacing was observed.Our results provide strong evidence of the coexistence of interstitial vortices in the islands and fluxoids in the holes. 相似文献

By means of numerical simulations based on Ginzburg-Landau theory, we study the vortex depinning from a columnar defect in a superconducting film. We evaluate the limiting thickness of the film, below which the depinning does not occur even under an application of the magnetic field perpendicular to the columnar defect. The limiting thickness is a measure of the pinning strength of the columnar defect. The dependence of this limiting thickness on the magnitude of the applied field is obtained for two types of columnar defects. 相似文献

Two-phase states of equilibrium of a thin superconducting film carrying a current under conditions of convective heat exchange
at the free surface of the film are studied. It is shown that for a classical superconductor the two-phase state of the film
remains a single-front state over a wide range of parameters of the system. For high-T
c superconductors there exists a maximum value of the Steckl number above which weakly nonequilibrium stationary states can
only be multifront states. The solutions of the boundary-value problem modeling a two-front state of equilibrium are investigated,
and the conditions under which they obtain are examined.

The magnetization curves of a thin superconducting monolayer are calculated. It is found that for sufficiently high fields
and temperatures the magnetization of a monolayer exhibits the same features as the reversible magnetization of layered superconductors
in high fields. It is shown that these features are due to instability with respect to the dissociation of pairs of Pearl
vortices into a gas of free vortices and to collective effects in a system of free vortices.

A square hole array is fabricated over a micro-bridge of NbN thin
film by electron beam lithography and reactive ion milling.
Magneto-resistance is measured across the micro-bridge filled with a
hole array near the superconducting transition temperature. It is
found that magneto-resistance minima occur when the number of
vortices is an integer multiple or a fractional multiple of the
number of holes. The temperature and the current dependences of the

We report the dependence of the vortex penetration on the number and positions of surface defects in mesoscopic superconducting squares. The vortex penetration is detected by the change in the transport properties of small tunnel junctions attached to the sample (small-tunnel-junction method). We find that for vorticities L = 0 and 1, a defect at the center of a side facilitate the vortex penetration, while a defect at a corner does not affect the vortex penetration field. For higher vorticities, the influence of defects becomes complicated, indicating that not only the existence of surface defects but also the vortex arrangement influences the vortex penetration. Simple explanation for this mesoscopic vortex penetration effect is given. 相似文献

The possibility of the formation of a vortex in thin film due to the field of magnetic dipole moment when a point dipole is vertically approaching the surface of a thin film is discussed. Calculations are performed for certain discrete values of the critical position of the point dipole for creating the vortex in the thin film and the equilibrium positions of the vortex, both of which depend on the strength of magnetic dipole moment. Using scanning Hall probe microscopy a direct visualization of the flux distribution in a Pb film covering a fivefold Penrose array of Co dots is obtained. We demonstrate that stable vortex configurations can be found for fields H ∼ 0.8H1, H1 and 1.6H1, where H1 corresponds to one flux quantum per pinning site. The vortex pattern at 0.8H1 corresponds to one vacancy in one of the vertices of the thin tiles whereas at 1.6H1 the vortex structure can be associated with one interstitial vortex inside each thick tile. Strikingly, for H = 1.6H1 interstitial and pinned vortices arrange themselves in ring-like structures (“vortex corrals”) which favor the formation of a giant vortex state at their center. 相似文献

An electrodynamic equation is derived for the magnetic field of an isolated Pearl vortex moving along an arbitrary trajectory in an ultrathin film of a magnetic superconductor. This equation is valid for any type of magnetic order in the magnetic subsystem. The magnetic structure of an isolated oscillating Pearl vortex is investigated in a thin magnetic superconductor film. Oscillations of the vortex and the presence of the magnetic subsystem are shown to lead to a significant renormalization of the vortex field in comparison with the Pearl solution. New phenomena of inverted satellites are predicted in which an inverted precursor appears in front of the vortex and an inverted wake is formed behind the latter at a distance of the order of 10λeff from the vortex center. These phenomena can be observed in magnetooptical experiments. 相似文献
