Let Ln(3) denote the (2n+1)-dimensional standard lens space mod 3. In this paper, we study the conditions for a given real vector bundle over Ln(3) to be stably extendible to Lm(3) for every mn, and establish the formula on the power ζk=ζζ (k-fold) of a real vector bundle ζ over Ln(3). Moreover, we answer the stable splitting problem for real vector bundles over Ln(3) by means of arithmetic conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a fourth-order gradient flow of the quadratic Riemannian functional ɛ of traceless Ricci curvature on closed 3 -manifolds with a fixed conformal class. We show that the L 2-curvature pinching locally conformally flat 3-manifolds can be deformed to space forms through such gradient flow. More precisely, for the suitable small initial energy functional ɛ, the gradient flow exists for all times and converges smoothly to space forms as the time goes to infinity. This paper considers the study of the regularity of the flow of a nonautonomous nonlinear control process when the set of control maps is endowed with theL p -topology. Roughly speaking, it is proved that, if the norm of the mapf(t, x, u) defining the process together with its first derivatives goes to infinity, with the norm ofu not faster thanu p ,p>1, then the flow isC 1 in theL p -topology. This property implies that, if the control maps are bounded, then the flow is differentiable in anyL p ,p>1. By the results of the author and Chiantini in [3], on a general quintic threefold XP 4 the minimum integer p for which there exists a positive dimensional family of irreducible rank p vector bundles on X without intermediate cohomology is at least three. In this paper we show that p≤4, by constructing series of positive dimensional families of rank 4 vector bundles on X without intermediate cohomology. The general member of such family is an indecomposable bundle from the extension class Ext 1 (E, F), for a suitable choice of the rank 2 ACM bundles E and F on X. The existence of such bundles of rank p=3 remains under question.  相似文献

A set of conditions are given, each equivalent to the constancy of mean curvature of a surface in H 3.It is shown that analogs of these equivalences exist for surfaces in S 2 ,the bounding ideal sphere of H 3,leading to a notion of constant mean curvature at infinity of H 3.A parametrization of all complete constant mean curvature surfaces at infinity of H 3 is given by holomorphic quadratic differentials on Ĉ,C, and D.  相似文献

Assume that each completely irrational noncommutative torus is realized as an inductive limit of circle algebras, and that for a completely irrational noncommutative torus Aw of rank m there are a completely irrational noncommutative torus Aρ of rank m and a positive integer d such that tr(Aw)=1/d.tr(Aρ).It is proved that the set of all C^*-algebras of sections of locally trivial C^*-algebra bundles over S^2 with fibres Aω has a group sturcture,denoted by π1^s(Aut(Aω)),which is isomorphic to Zif Ed>1 and {0} if d>1.Let Bcd be a cd-homogeneous C^*-algebra over S^2×T^2 of which no non-trivial matrix algebra can be factored out.The spherical noncommutative torus Sρ^cd is defined by twisting C^*(T2×Z^m-2) in Bcd ×C^*(Z^m-3) by a totally skew multiplier ρ on T^2×Z^m-2。It is shown that Sρ^cd×Mρ∞ is isomorphic to C(S^2)×C^*(T^2×Z^m-2,ρ)× Mcd(C)×Mρ∞ if and only if the set of prime factors of cd is a subset of the set of prime factors of p.  相似文献

It is shown that an n × n matrix of continuous linear maps from a pro-C^*-algebra A to L(H), which verifies the condition of complete positivity, is of the form [V^*TijФ(·)V]^n i,where Ф is a representation of A on a Hilbert space K, V is a bounded linear operator from H to K, and j=1,[Tij]^n i,j=1 is a positive element in the C^*-algebra of all n×n matrices over the commutant of Ф(A) in L(K). This generalizes a result of C. Y.Suen in Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., 112(3), 1991, 709-712. Also, a covariant version of this construction is given.  相似文献

The Evens-Lu-Weinstein representation (Q A , D) for a Lie algebroid A on a manifold M is studied in the transitive case. To consider at the same time non-oriented manifolds as well, this representation is slightly modified to (Q A or , Dor) by tensoring by orientation flat line bundle, Q A or =QAor (M) and D or=D⊗∂ A or . It is shown that the induced cohomology pairing is nondegenerate and that the representation (Q A or , Dor) is the unique (up to isomorphy) line representation for which the top group of compactly supported cohomology is nontrivial. In the case of trivial Lie algebroid A=TM the theorem reduce to the following: the orientation flat bundle (or (M), ∂ A or ) is the unique (up to isomorphy) flat line bundle (ξ, ∇) for which the twisted de Rham complex of compactly supported differential forms on M with values in ξ possesses the nontrivial cohomology group in the top dimension. Finally it is obtained the characterization of transitive Lie algebroids for which the Lie algebroid cohomology with trivial coefficients (or with coefficients in the orientation flat line bundle) gives Poincaré duality. In proofs of these theorems for Lie algebroids it is used the Hochschild-Serre spectral sequence and it is shown the general fact concerning pairings between graded filtered differential ℝ-vector spaces: assuming that the second terms live in the finite rectangular, nondegeneration of the pairing for the second terms (which can be infinite dimensional) implies the same for cohomology spaces.  相似文献

Many problems in management science and telecommunications can be solved by the analysis of aD X/Dm/1 queueing model. In this paper, we use the zeros, both inside and outside the unit circle, of the denominator of the generating function of the model to obtain an explicit closed-form solution for the equilibrium probabilities of the number of customers in the system. The moments of the number of customers in the queue or in the system are also studied. When there are infinitely many zeros outside the unit circle, we propose an approximation method using polynomials. This method yields correct values for a finite number of the probabilities, the number depending on the degree of the polynomial approximation.  相似文献

Akemann showed that any von Neumann algebra with a weak* separable dual space has a faithful normal representation on a separable Hilbert space. He posed the question: If a C*-algebra has a weak* separable state space, must it have a faithful representation on a separable Hilbert space? Wright solved this question negatively and showed that a unital C*-algebra has the weak* separable state space if and only if it has a unital completely positive map, into a type I factor on a separable Hilbert space, whose restriction to the self-adjoint part induces an order isomorphism. He called such a C*-algebra almost separably representable. We say that a unital C*-algebra is small if it has a unital complete isometry into a type I factor on a separable Hilbert space. In this paper we show that a unital C*-algebra is small if and only if the state spaces of all n by n matrix algebras over the C*-algebra are weak*-separable. It is natural to ask whether almost separably representable algebras are small or not. We settle this question positively for simple C*-algebras but the general question remains open.  相似文献

Consider G=Z 22 as the group generated by two commuting involutions, and let be a smooth G-action on a smooth and closed manifold M. Suppose that the fixed point set of Φ consists of two connected components, F n and F n-1, with dimensions n and n−1, respectively. In this paper we prove that, if in the fixed data of Φ at least two eigenbundles over F n have dimension greater than n, and at least one eigenbundle over F n-1 has dimension greater than n−1, then the action (M,Φ) bounds equivariantly.It is well known that, if is a smooth involution on a smooth and closed m-dimensional manifold M m such that the fixed point set of T has constant dimension n, and if m > 2n, then (M m ,T) bounds equivariantly; this fact was proved by R. E. Stong and C. Kosniowski 27 years ago. As a consequence of our result, we will see that the same fact is true when, besides n-dimensional components, the fixed point set contains additional (n−1)-dimensional components.  相似文献

Let M n , n 3, be a complete oriented immersed minimal hypersurface in Euclidean space R n+1. We show that if the total scalar curvature on M is less than the n/2 power of 1/C s , where C s is the Sobolev constant for M, then there are no L 2 harmonic 1-forms on M. As corollaries, such a minimal hypersurface contains no nontrivial harmonic functions with finite Dirichlet integral and so it has only one end. This implies finally that M is a hyperplane.  相似文献

In this paper the author devotes to studying a logarithmic type nonlocal plane curve flow.Along this flow,the convexity of evolving curve is preserved,the perimeter decreases,while the enclosed area expands.The flow is proved to exist globally and converge to a finite circle in the C∞metric as time goes to infinity.  相似文献

This paper continues the author's previous paper, published inAnn. Global Anal. Geom. 18 (2000), 477–515. Here weconstruct a linking form on the torsion part of middle-dimensionalextended L 2 homology and cohomology of odd-dimensionalmanifolds. We give a geometric necessary condition when this linkingform is hyperbolic. We compute this linking form in case, when themanifold bounds. We introduce and study new numerical invariants of thelinking form: the Novikov–Shubin signature and the torsion signature;we compute these invariants explicitly for manifolds with1 = Z in terms of the Blanchfield form. We develop anotion of excess for extensions of torsion modules and show how thisconcept can be used to guarantee vanishing of the torsion signature.  相似文献

For a certain class of extensions of C*-algebras in which B and A belong to classifiable classes of C*-algebras, we show that the functor which sends to its associated six term exact sequence in K-theory and the positive cones of K0(B) and K0(A) is a classification functor. We give two independent applications addressing the classification of a class of C*-algebras arising from substitutional shift spaces on one hand and of graph algebras on the other. The former application leads to the answer of a question of Carlsen and the first named author concerning the completeness of stabilized Matsumoto algebras as an invariant of flow equivalence. The latter leads to the first classification result for nonsimple graph C*-algebras.  相似文献

The notion of p-adic multiresolution analysis (MRA) is introduced. We discuss a “natural” refinement equation whose solution (a refinable function) is the characteristic function of the unit disc. This equation reflects the fact that the characteristic function of the unit disc is a sum of p characteristic functions of mutually disjoint discs of radius p −1. This refinement equation generates a MRA. The case p=2 is studied in detail. Our MRA is a 2-adic analog of the real Haar MRA. But in contrast to the real setting, the refinable function generating our Haar MRA is 1-periodic, which never holds for real refinable functions. This fact implies that there exist infinity many different 2-adic orthonormal wavelet bases in ℒ2(ℚ2) generated by the same Haar MRA. All of these new bases are described. We also constructed infinity many different multidimensional 2-adic Haar orthonormal wavelet bases for ℒ2(ℚ2 n ) by means of the tensor product of one-dimensional MRAs. We also study connections between wavelet analysis and spectral analysis of pseudo-differential operators. A criterion for multidimensional p-adic wavelets to be eigenfunctions for a pseudo-differential operator (in the Lizorkin space) is derived. We proved also that these wavelets are eigenfunctions of the Taibleson multidimensional fractional operator. These facts create the necessary prerequisites for intensive using our wavelet bases in applications. Our results related to the pseudo-differential operators develop the investigations started in Albeverio et al. (J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 12(4):393–425, 2006).   相似文献

S. Shelah proved that stability of a theory is equivalent to definability of every complete type of that theory. T. Mustafin introduced the concept of being T *-stable, generalizing the notion of being stable. However, T *-stability does not necessitate definability of types. The key result of the present article is proving the definability of types for E *-stable theories. This concept differs from that of being T *-stable by adding the condition of being continuous. As a consequence we arrive at the definability of types over any P-sets in P-stable theories, which previously was established by T. Nurmagambetov and B. Poizat for types over P-models.  相似文献
