The three-dimensional transition of the wake flow behind a circular cylinder is studied in detail by direct numerical simulations using 3D incompressible N-S equations for Reynolds number ranging from 200 to 300. New features and vortex dynamics of the 3D transition of the wake are found and investigated. At Re = 200, the flow pattern is characterized by mode A instability. However, the spanwise characteristic length of the cylinder determines the transition features. Particularly for the specific spanwise characteristic length linear stable mode may dominate the wake in place of mode A and determine the spanwise phase difference of the primary vortices shedding. At Re = 250 and 300 it is found that the streamwise vortices evolve into a new type of mode’“dual vortex pair mode” downstream. The streamwise vortex structures switch among mode A, mode B and dual vortex pair mode from near wake to downstream wake. At Re = 250, an independent low frequency f m in addition to the vortex shedding frequency f s is identified. Frequency coupling between f m and f s occurs. These result in the irregularity of the temporal signals and become a key feature in the transition of the wake. Based on the formation analysis of the streamwise vorticity in the vicinity of cylinder, it is suggested that mode A is caused by the emergence of the spanwise velocity due to three dimensionality of the incoming flow past the cylinder. Energy distribution on various wave numbers and the frequency variation in the wake are also described.  相似文献

Transition waves and interactions between two kinds of instability—vortex shedding and transition wave in the near wake of a circular cylinder in the Reynolds number range 3 000–10 000 are studied by a domain decomposition hybrid numerical method. Based on high resolution power spectral analyses for velocity new results on the Reynolds-number dependence of the transition wave frequency, i.e.f t /fs∼Re0.87 are obtained. The new predictions are in good agreement with the experimental results of Wei and Smith but different from Braza s prediction and some early experimental resultsf t/fsRe 0.5 given by Blooret al. The multi-interactions between two kinds of vortex are clearly visualized numerically. The strong nonlinear interactions between the two independent frequencies (f t,f s ) leading to spectra broadening to form the couplingmf s +nf t are predicted and analyzed numerically, and the characteristics of the transition are described. Longitudinal variations of the transition wave and its coupling are reported. Detailed mechanism of the flow transition in the near wake before occurrence of the thedimensional evolution is provided. We present numerical results of transition in a smooth cylindrical pipe by small periodical suction and blowing (PSB) at the inlet of a laminar pipe flow at Reynolds number 3000 based on the maximum velocity of the laminar flow and radius of the pipe. The spatial development of the PSB disturbance is simulated by means of pseudo-spectrum element method. The transitional process is described in the paper that the disturbances are growing rapidly in a short part of the pipe after they develop gradually in sufficient long distance. When the rapid growth of disturbances occurs the time step of integration should be decreased and then the flow transits to turbulent.  相似文献

The present paper focuses on the analysis of two- and three-dimensional flow past a circular cylinder in different laminar flow regimes. In this simulation, an implicit pressure-based finite volume method is used for time-accurate computation of incompressible flow using second order accurate convective flux discretisation schemes. The computation results are validated against measurement data for mean surface pressure, skin friction coefficients, the size and strength of the recirculating wake for the steady flow regime and also for the Strouhal frequency of vortex shedding and the mean and RMS amplitude of the fluctuating aerodynamic coefficients for the unsteady periodic flow regime. The complex three dimensional flow structure of the cylinder wake is also reasonably captured by the present prediction procedure.  相似文献

采用同位网格有限体积(coupled and linked equations algorithm revised,CLEAR)方法求解黏性和XPP (eXtended Pom-Pom)黏弹性流动的控制方程,基于延时修正方法构造了动量和本构方程对流项的高精度AVLsmart格式。首先,为了验证该文方法的有效性,对不同Reynolds数下不可压黏性流体圆柱绕流问题进行了模拟。随后,对等温及非等温不可压XPP黏弹性流体圆柱绕流问题进行了有效模拟,给出了速度矢量、应力分量、拉升量以及温度的分布规律,分析了We数对水平速度、法向应力及拉升量的影响。该文研究成果能为精确预测复杂型腔纤维增强黏弹性聚合物熔体动态充填过程提供理论基础。  相似文献

The numerical solution of the free‐surface fluid flow on a rotating elliptical cylinder is presented. Up to the present, research has concentrated on the circular cylinder for which steady solutions are the main interest. However, for noncircular cylinders, such as the ellipse, steady solutions are no longer possible, but there will be periodic solutions in which the solution is repeated after one full revolution of the cylinder. It is this new aspect that makes the investigation of noncircular cylinders novel. Here we consider both the time‐dependent and periodic solutions for zero Reynolds number fluid flow. The numerical solution is expedited by first mapping the fluid film domain onto a rectangle such that the position of the free‐surface is determined as part of the solution. For the time‐dependent case a simple time‐marching method of lines approach is adopted. For the periodic solution the discretised nonlinear equations have to be solved simultaneously over a time period. The resulting large system of equations is solved using Newton's method in which the form of the Jacobian enables a straightforward decomposition to be implemented, which makes matrix inversion manageable. In the periodic case all derivatives have been approximated pseudospectrally with the time derivative approximated by a differentiation matrix which has been specially derived so that the weight of fluid is algebraically conserved. Of interest is the solution for which the weight of fluid is at its maximum possible value, and this has been obtained by increasing the weight until a consistency break‐down occurs. Time‐dependent solutions do not produce the periodic solution after a long time‐scale but have protuberances which are constantly appearing and disappearing. Periodic solutions exhibit spectral accuracy solutions and maximum supportable weight solutions have been obtained for ranges of eccentricity and angular velocity. The maximum weights are less than and approximately proportional to those obtained for the circular case. The steady viscous incompressible and slightly conducting fluid flow around a circular cylinder with an aligned magnetic field is simulated for the range of Reynolds numbers 100 ? Re ? 500 using the Hartmann number, M. The multigrid method with defect correction technique is used to achieve the second order accurate solution of complete non-linear Navier–Stokes equations. The magnetic Reynolds number is assumed to be small. It is observed that volume of the separation bubble decreases and drag coefficient increases as M is increased. We noticed that the upstream base pressure increases slightly with increase of M whereas downstream base pressure decreases with increase of M. The effect of the magnetic field on the flow is discussed with contours of streamlines, vorticity, plots of surface pressure and surface vorticity.  相似文献

The kinetic features of energy exchange between hard-sphere molecules are numerically simulated. The results deviate from the usual the Maxwell distribution. The high-speed tail of the molecule distribution is cut off due to the dominant deceleration of fast particles. For mixtures of gases with various molecular masses, the energy redistribution between the degrees of freedom leads to different stationary temperatures of the components.  相似文献

基于离散涡方法求得的非定常水流场和颗粒的Lagrange运动方程,数值模拟了稀疏液固两相圆柱绕流尾迹内颗粒的扩散分布.获得了流动的涡谱与3种不同St数颗粒(St=0.25,1.0,40)在流场中的分布.通过引入扩散函数来定量表示颗粒在流场中的纵向扩散强度,并计算得到了不同St数颗粒的扩散函数随时间的变化.数值结果揭示出了液固两相圆柱绕流尾迹中的颗粒扩散分布与颗粒的St数和尾涡结构密切相关:1) 中小St数(St=0.25~4.0)颗粒在运动过程中不能进入涡核区,而在旋涡结构的外沿聚集,且颗粒的St数愈大,其越远离涡核区域;2) 在圆柱绕流尾迹区域内,中小St数(St=0.25~4.0)颗粒的纵向扩散强度随其St数的增大而减小.  相似文献

求解复杂多连通区域的保角变换函数是困难的.针对这一问题,该文将求解保角变换函数转化为利用模拟电荷法求解一对定义在问题区域上的共轭调和函数,再根据边界条件建立约束方程,并利用GMRES(m)(the generalized minimal residual method)算法求解约束方程,获得了模拟电荷,进而构造了高精度的近似保角变换函数,将有界多连通区域映射为三种无界正则狭缝域.数值实验验证了该文算法的有效性.  相似文献

A mathematical modeling technique is proposed for oscillation chaotization in an essentially nonlinear dissipative Duffing oscillator with two-frequency excitation on an invariant torus in ?2. The technique is based on the joint application of the parameter continuation method, Floquet stability criteria, bifurcation theory, and the Everhart high-accuracy numerical integration method. This approach is used for the numerical construction of subharmonic solutions in the case when the oscillator passes to chaos through a sequence of period-multiplying bifurcations. The value of a universal constant obtained earlier by the author while investigating oscillation chaotization in dissipative oscillators with single-frequency periodic excitation is confirmed.  相似文献

A numerical simulation scheme of 3D incompressible viscous fluid in a box flow passage is developed to solve Navier–Stokes (N–S) equations by firstly taking fluid–structure interaction (FSI) into account. This numerical scheme with FSI is based on the polynomial differential quadrature (PDQ) approximation technique, in which motions of both the fluid and the solid boundary structures are well described. The flow passage investigated consists of four rectangular plates, of which two are rigid, while another two are elastic. In the simulation the elastic plates are allowed to vibrate subjected to excitation of the time-dependent dynamical pressure induced by the unsteady flow in the passage. Meanwhile, the vibrating plates change the flow pattern by producing many transient sources and sinks on the plates. The effects of FSI on the flow are evaluated by running numerical examples with the incoming flow’s Reynolds numbers of 3000, 7000 and 10,000, respectively. Numerical computations show that FSI has significant influence on both the velocity and pressure fields, and the DQ method developed here is effective for modelling 3D incompressible viscous fluid with FSI.  相似文献

In this paper, Hopf bifurcation and center problem for a generic three-dimensional Chua's circuit system are studied. Applying the formal series method of computing singular point quantities to investigate the two cases of the generic circuit system, we find necessary conditions for the existence of centers on a local center manifold for the systems, then Darboux method is applied to show the sufficiency. Further, we determine the maximum number of limit cycles that can bifurcate from the corresponding equilibrium via Hopf bifurcation.  相似文献

In this work, we present and analyze a mathematical model for tumor growth incorporating ECM erosion, interstitial flow, and the effect of vascular flow and nutrient transport. The model is of phase-field or diffused-interface type in which multiple phases of cell species and other constituents are separated by smooth evolving interfaces. The model involves a mesoscale version of Darcy’s law to capture the flow mechanism in the tissue matrix. Modeling flow and transport processes in the vasculature supplying the healthy and cancerous tissue, one-dimensional (1D) equations are considered. Since the models governing the transport and flow processes are defined together with cell species models on a three-dimensional (3D) domain, we obtain a 3D–1D coupled model.  相似文献

本文在[1]的基础上,用多尺度法和数值模拟对含二次非线性项的受迫振子作了进一步研究,探讨了其浑沌域与主共振曲线的关系,通过对主共振曲线稳定性的分析,我们推测浑沌运动将发生在主共振曲线具有垂直切线的频率附近,数值模拟结果证实了这一推测。这就为那些难以用Melnikov方法处理的系统,提供了一条寻求浑沌运动的可行途径。  相似文献

An appealing approach to the solution of nonlinear optimization problems based on conic models of the objective function has been recently introduced by Davidon. It leads to a broad class of algorithms which, in some sense, can be considered to generalize the existing quasi-Newton algorithms. One particular member of this class has been deeply examined by Sorensen, who has proved some interesting theoretical properties. A new interpretation of this algorithm is suggested in this paper from a more straightforward and somewhat familiar point of view. In addition, numerical experiments have been carried out to compare the Sorensen algorithm with a straightforward BFGS implementation of the classical quasi-Newton method with the final aim to assess the real merits and benefits of the new algorithm. Although some challenging test functions are used in computational experiments, the results are not particularly favorable to the new algorithm. As a matter of fact they do not exhibit any jump of quality, as it might be expected. Lastly, it is pointed out that a difficulty may affect the new method in situations in which it is necessary to exploit the special structure of large-scale problems.This work was supported by the National Research Council of Italy under Grant No. 80-01144.  相似文献
