Abstract: In this paper, we consider the Goldbach's problem for matrix rings, namely, we decompose an n ×n (n > 1) matrix over a principal ideal domain R into a sum of two matrices in Mn(R) with given determinants. We prove the following result: Let n > 1 be a natural number and A = (αij) be a matrix in Mn(R). Define d(A) := g.c.d{αij}. Suppose that p and q are two elements in R. Then (1) If n > 1 is even, then A can be written as a sum of two matrices X, Y in Mn(R) with det(X) = p and det(Y) = q if and only if d(A) |p-q; (2) If n > 1 is odd, then A can be written as a sum of two matrices X, Y in Mn(R) with det(X) = p and det(Y) = q if and only if d(A) |p + q. We apply the result to the matrices in Mn(Z) and Mn(Q[x]) and prove that if R = Z or Q[x], then any nonzero matrix A in Mn(R) can be written as a sum of two matrices in Mn(R) with prime determinants.  相似文献

For a commutative ring R with identity, the annihilating-ideal graph of R, denoted 𝔸𝔾(R), is the graph whose vertices are the nonzero annihilating ideals of R with two distinct vertices joined by an edge when the product of the vertices is the zero ideal. We will generalize this notion for an ideal I of R by replacing nonzero ideals whose product is zero with ideals that are not contained in I and their product lies in I and call it the annihilating-ideal graph of R with respect to I, denoted 𝔸𝔾 I (R). We discuss when 𝔸𝔾 I (R) is bipartite. We also give some results on the subgraphs and the parameters of 𝔸𝔾 I (R).  相似文献

For a (countable) graph E and a unital commutative ring R, we analyze the ideal structure of the Leavitt path algebra L R (E) introduced by Mark Tomforde. We first modify the definition of basic ideals and then develop the ideal characterization of Mark Tomforde. We also give necessary and sufficient conditions for the primeness and the primitivity of L R (E), and we then determine prime graded basic ideals and left (or right) primitive graded ideals of L R (E). In particular, when E satisfies Condition (K) and R is a field, they imply that the set of prime ideals and the set of primitive ideals of L R (E) coincide.  相似文献

Let V be a finite-dimensional vector space over a field k, and let W be a 1-dimensional k-vector space. Let ?,?: V × V → W be a symmetric bilinear form. Then ?,? is called anisotropic if for all nonzero v ∈ V we have ? v, v ? ≠ 0. Motivated by a problem in algebraic number theory, we give a generalization of the concept of anisotropy to symmetric bilinear forms on finitely generated modules over artinian principal ideal rings. We will give many equivalent definitions of this concept of anisotropy. One of the definitions shows that a form is anisotropic if and only if certain forms on vector spaces are anisotropic. We will also discuss the concept of quasi-anisotropy of a symmetric bilinear form, which has no vector space analogue. Finally, we will discuss the radical root of a symmetric bilinear form, which does not have a vector space analogue either. All three concepts have applications in algebraic number theory.  相似文献

We consider two classes of integrable nonlinear hyperbolic systems on Lie algebras. These systems generalize the principal chiral model. Each system is related to a pair of compatible Lie brackets and has a Lax representation, which is determined by the direct sum decomposition of the Lie algebra of Laurent series into the subalgebra of Taylor series and the complementary subalgebra corresponding to the pair.
