Synthesis of new 1,3-thiazole derivatives from 2(5)-hydroxyalkyl-1,3-thiazole-5(2)-carbaldehydes

Reactions of substituted 2-hydroxyalkyl-1,3-thiazole-5-carbaldehydes and 5-hydroxyalkyl-1,3-thiazole-2-carbaldehydes with phenylhydrazine, isoniazid, N-substituted rhodanines were performed as well as Biginelli reaction with acetoacetic ester and urea. As a result, new 1,3-thiazole derivatives were obtained. They are of interest as potential bioactive substances.     

Mixed ligand palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes of tertiary diphosphines and benz-1,3-imidazoline-2-thione,benz-1,3-oxazoline-2-thione or benz-1,3-thiazoline-2-thione

Palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes containing the mixed ligands tertiary diphosphines Ph₂P(CH₂) _n PPh₂, (n = 1–4) and benz-1,3-imidazoline-2-thione, benz-1,3-oxazoline-2-thione or benz-1,3-thiazoline-2-thione have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance and i.r. spectral data. ³¹P–{¹H}-n.m.r. data have been applied to characterize the produced linkage isomers.     

Thermal oligomerization of methyl 4-(1,3-dioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-isoindol-2-yl)buta-2,3-dienoate

Dimeric compounds formed as a result of thermal oligomerization of methyl 4-(1,3-dioxo-2,3- dihydro-1H-isoindol-2-yl)buta-2,3-dienoate were identified.     

Synthesis and characterization of poly([3H]-thiazole-2-thione)s

The reaction of dithiocarbamate salts with α-haloketones is extended to (i) dithiocarbamate salts with bis(α-haloketones), (ii) bis(dithiocarbamate salts) with α-haloketones, and (iii) bis(dithiocarbamate salts) with bis(α-haloketones). Both (i) and (ii) give bis([3H]-thiazole-2thiazole-2-thiones) in high yields, and (iii) gives the corresponding polymers which are described and characterized.     

Synthesis of substituted 2-arylimino-2,3-dihydro-4H-1,3-thiazines

The synthesis of 3,4,4,6-tetramethyl-2-arylimino-2,3-dihydro-4H-1,3-thiazines, which have a fixed imino structure, was accomplished by two methods: by intramolecular rearrangement of 1,4,6,6-tetramethyl-3-aryl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyrimidine-2-thiones and by amination of 3,4,4,6-tetramethyl-2,3-dihydro-4H-1,3-thiazine-2-thione methiodide.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 7, pp. 941–943, July, 1972.     

Synthesis of 3-[5-anilino-(2,3-d)-dioxole-1,3]-1-oxo-1,3-dihydro-2-benzofurane

A microscale synthesis (500 mg) of the product 3-[5-anilino-(2,3-d)-dioxole-1,3]-1-oxo-1, 3-dihydro-2-benzofurane (COR.01.126) is described. This method, which requires only four steps, is principally available for the ¹⁴C-labeled synthesis with labeled phthalic anhydride as starting material.     

Reaction of (1,3-dioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-ylidene)propanedinitrile with N-arylisoindolines

In a multistep reaction, 3,3′-(2-aryl-2H-isoindol-1,3-ylene)-di-(1,4-naphthoquinone-2-carbonitriles) 13a-f have been formed in 25-61% yield from a series of N-arylisoindolines 8a-f with (1,3-dioxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-ylidene)propanedinitrile (1) in aerated pyridine. The structure of one of these products (13f) has been unambiguously confirmed by a single crystal X-ray structure analysis. Under otherwise the same conditions, 2-(3-methoxyphenyl)-isoindoline (8g) and 1 gave 38% of [4-(2,3-dihydro-1H-isoindol-2-yl)-2-methoxyphenyl]-1,3-dioxoindan-2-ylidene)acetonitrile (15). Rationales for these conversions involving the known rearrangement of the radical anion of 1 into the radical anion of 1,4-naphthoquinone-2,3-dicarbonitrile (3) are presented.
