We prove the existence of the limiting distribution of a class of functions which are bounded and can be approximated by periodic functions in L1-norm. This had been investigated by Heath-Brown and our work is a generalization. A tool used here is the continuity theorem. By using its quantitative version, we can investigate the rate of convergence of some cases.  相似文献

本文采用[1]的术语.1978年,谢邦杰将著名的Hadamard不等式推广到四元数体上,即:设A=(a_ij)_n×n为四元数体上可中心化的非奇异矩阵,则等号成立当且仅当A的各行广义正交.本文给出关于四元数体上长方阵的不等式(2).当m=n,且A是可中心化的非奇异矩阵时,(2)式即为(1)式.  相似文献

We study the similarity of perturbed compact operators to operators of block-diagonal structure with respect to some family of orthogonal projection operators, which allows us to refine and essentially strengthen results due to R. Turner. We obtain information about the operator realizing the similarity transformation, present estimates for the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the perturbed operator, and also study the inverse problem of spectral analysis.  相似文献

If gf(x) =x for every x, then g is called a left inverse function of f and f is a right inverse function of g. If f is both left and right inverse function of g, then f and g are said to be mutually inverse to each other. We show that (§ 1) the following results hold. A function f has a left inverse if and only if f is univalent, a function g has a right inverse if and only if g is exhaustive, i. e., g takes every (natural) number as values. Hence f has both left and right inverse if and only if f is both univalent and exhaustive, i. e., f is a permutation on the domain of natural numbers. Let g_1 and g_2 be two left inverse functions of the function f. If for every left inverse g of f, we have $g_1(x) \leq g(x) \leq g_2(x)$, then g_1(x) is called the weak, and g_2(x) is the strong, left inverse function of f. Similarly we define the weak and the strong right inverse functions. We show that(§ 2) every strict increasing function f must possess weak and strong left inverse functions, and all of its left inverse functions must be exhaustive slow increasing (a function g(x) is slow increasing if and only if g(Sx) —Sg(x) =0, here s denotes the successor function). On the other hand, every exhaustive function g must possess weak and strong right inverse functions, and all of its right inverse functions must strict increasing. We show also that (§ 3): If f_1(x) and f_2(x) both take g(x) as their strong (weak) left inverse, then f_1(x)=f_2(x)(f_1(Sx)=f_2(Sx)). If g_1(x) and g_2(x) both take f(x) as their strong or weak right inverse, then g_1(x)=g_2(x). The well-known Rogers-Ramanujan identities have been a rich source of mathematical study over the last fifty years. In particular, Gordon’s generalization in the early 1960s led to additional work by Andrews and Bressoud in subsequent years. Unfortunately, these results lacked a certain amount of uniformity in terms of combinatorial interpretation. In this work, we provide a single combinatorial interpretation of the series sides of these generating function results by using the concept of cluster parities. This unifies the aforementioned results of Andrews and Bressoud and also allows for a strikingly broader family of q-series results to be obtained. We close the paper by proving congruences for a “degenerate case” of Bressoud’s theorem.  相似文献

In this short note we construct codes of length 4n with 8n+8 codewords and minimum distance 2n?2 whenever 4n+4 is the order of a Hadamard matrix. This generalises work of Constantine who obtained a similar result in the special case that n is a prime power.
