We study a quantum particle propagating through a “quantum mechanically chaotic” background, described by parametric random matrices with only short range spatial correlations. The particle is found to exhibit turbulent-like diffusion under very general situations, without the a priori introduction of power law noise or scaling in the background properties.  相似文献

An extension of the technique of analogue simulation to the treatment of quantum mechanical systems, based on an analogue variant of the method of stochastic quantization, is reported. The analogue stochastic quantization (ASQ) technique is introduced by application to the quantum harmonic oscillator, a particularly simple system for which all the answers are already known. ASQ measurements of the lowest eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the latter system are presented and compared with theoretical predictions. The future potential of the ASQ technique in relation to some more complicated quantum systems of topical interest is discussed.  相似文献

We employ a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) quantum information processor to simulate the ground state of an XXZ spin chain and measure its NMR analog of entanglement, or pseudoentanglement. The observed pseudoentanglement for a small-size system already displays a singularity, a signature which is qualitatively similar to that in the thermodynamical limit across quantum phase transitions, including an infinite-order critical point. The experimental results illustrate a successful approach to investigate quantum correlations in many-body systems using quantum simulators.  相似文献

We present a numerical method to simulate the time evolution, according to a generic Hamiltonian made of local interactions, of quantum spin chains and systems alike. The efficiency of the scheme depends on the amount of entanglement involved in the simulated evolution. Numerical analysis indicates that this method can be used, for instance, to efficiently compute time-dependent properties of low-energy dynamics in sufficiently regular but otherwise arbitrary one-dimensional quantum many-body systems. As by-products, we describe two alternatives to the density matrix renormalization group method.  相似文献

A quasianalytical theory of tunnel ionization is developed that is applicable to general complex systems, such as large molecules. Our analysis reveals strong deviations from conventional tunnel ionization theories, dependent upon the system's geometry, angular momentum, and polarizability. A comparison of our theory with recent C(60) ionization experiments yields reasonable agreement.  相似文献

The channel induced by a complex system interacting strongly with a qubit is calculated exactly under the assumption of randomness of its eigenvectors. The resulting channel is represented as an isotropic time-dependent oscillation of the Bloch ball, leading to non-Markovian behavior, even in the limit of infinite environments. Two contributions are identified: one due to the density of states and the other due to correlations in the spectrum. Prototype examples, one for chaotic and the other for regular dynamics are explored.  相似文献

We analyze the transport properties of bilayer quantum Hall systems at total filling factor nu=1 in drag geometries as a function of interlayer bias, in the limit where the disorder is sufficiently strong to unbind meron-antimeron pairs, the charged topological defects of the system. We compute the typical energy barrier for these objects to cross incompressible regions within the disordered system using a Hartree-Fock approach, and show how this leads to multiple activation energies when the system is biased. We then demonstrate using a bosonic Chern-Simons theory that in drag geometries current in a single layer directly leads to forces on only two of the four types of merons, inducing dissipation only in the drive layer. Dissipation in the drag layer results from interactions among the merons, resulting in very different temperature dependences for the drag and drive layers, in qualitative agreement with experiment.  相似文献

We introduce a general analytic approach to the study of factorization points and factorized ground states in quantum cooperative systems. The method allows us to determine rigorously the existence, location, and exact form of separable ground states in a large variety of, generally nonexactly solvable, spin models belonging to different universality classes. The theory applies to translationally invariant systems, irrespective of spatial dimensionality, and for spin-spin interactions of arbitrary range.  相似文献

Assisted by multipartite entanglement, Quantum information may be split so that the original qubit can be reconstructed if and only if the recipients cooperate. This paper proposes an experimentally feasible scheme for splitting quantum information via W-type entangled states in cavity QED systems, where three-level Rydberg atoms interact with nonresonant cavities. Since W-type states are used as the quantum channel and the cavities are only virtually excited, the scheme is easy to implement and robust against decoherence, and the dependence on the quality factor of the cavities is greatly reduced.  相似文献

We examine several numerical techniques for the calculation of the dynamics of quantum systems. In particular, we single out an iterative method which is based on expanding the time evolution operator into a finite series of Chebyshev polynomials. The Chebyshev approach benefits from two advantages over the standard time-integration Crank-Nicholson scheme: speedup and efficiency. Potential competitors are semiclassical methods such as the Wigner-Moyal or quantum tomographic approaches. We outline the basic concepts of these techniques and benchmark their performance against the Chebyshev approach by monitoring the time evolution of a Gaussian wave packet in restricted one-dimensional (1D) geometries. Thereby the focus is on tunnelling processes and the motion in anharmonic potentials. Finally we apply the prominent Chebyshev technique to two highly non-trivial problems of current interest: (i) the injection of a particle in a disordered 2D graphene nanoribbon and (ii) the spatiotemporal evolution of polaron states in finite quantum systems. Here, depending on the disorder/electron-phonon coupling strength and the device dimensions, we observe transmission or localisation of the matter wave.  相似文献

基于描述短纤维增强复合材料充模过程的气-固-液三相模型及同位网格有限体积法, 实现了纤维增强复合材料沿复杂型腔水平中面充模过程的动态模拟. 不仅得到了界面位置、各物理量的信息, 而且得到了纤维在型腔中的运动情况(包括纤维的平动和取向). 结果表明, 与沿型腔厚度方向纤维取向的表层-芯层结构不同, 纤维沿型腔水平中面的取向与型腔结构有关, 入口处纤维取向环绕型腔入口, 沿水平或竖直方向纤维取向与来流方向垂直, 型腔拐角处纤维取向指向拐点.  相似文献

对于强耦合腔量子电动力学系统中以自由下落方式转移原子与腔模强耦合作用过程进行了实验研究,并在理论上利用蒙特卡罗方法对整个实验过程进行了模拟.根据模拟的高精度光学微腔实时记录的原子穿腔信号,获得了原子与腔模相互作用以及冷原子的参数等基本信息,包括不同初始条件下原子与腔模相互作用时腔的透射谱、单个原子在腔内的驻留时间、原子到达腔模时刻的概率分布以及原子到达腔模的动能分布等,并作为对比给出了相应的实验结果.基于模拟结果,实验上建立了腔内光学偶极阱来俘获单个原子,测量的单原子的腔内俘获寿命达到5 ms,比自由穿越时延长了约30倍.该研究对于原子-腔受限空间内,以自由下落方式转移原子以及原子与腔的耦合过程给出详细的分析,有助于对类似实验结果的分析和系统参数的优化.  相似文献

We discuss the time-convolutionless (TCL) projection operator approach to transport in closed quantum systems. The projection onto local densities of quantities such as energy, magnetization, particle number, etc. yields the reduced dynamics of the respective quantities in terms of a systematic perturbation expansion. In particular, the lowest order contribution of this expansion is used as a strategy for the analysis of transport in “modular” quantum systems corresponding to quasi one-dimensional structures which consist of identical or similar many-level subunits. Such modular quantum systems are demonstrated to represent many physical situations and several examples of complex single-particle models are analyzed in detail. For these quantum systems lowest order TCL is shown to represent an efficient tool which also allows to investigate the dependence of transport on the considered length scale. To estimate the range of validity of the obtained equations of motion we extend the standard projection to include additional degrees of freedom which model non-Markovian effects of higher orders.  相似文献

The structure, thermodynamics and the ferromagnetic phase transition of a positionally frozen disordered Heisenberg spin system are studied by means of extensive Monte Carlo calculations in combination with finite size scaling techniques, as well as resorting to the Replica Ornstein-Zernike formalism. The system is formed by a collection of Heisenberg spins whose spatial distribution corresponds to a soft sphere fluid with its particle positions frozen at a certain quench temperature. The spin orientations are allowed to equilibrate at a given equilibrium temperature. If the quench and equilibrium temperatures are similar the properties of the positionally frozen system are practically indistinguishable from those of the fully equilibrated Heisenberg spin fluid. On the other hand, one observes that as the quenching temperature of the spatial degrees of freedom increases, so does the Curie temperature of the Heisenberg spins.
