In this paper, we study locally strongly convex affine hypersurfaces of Rn+1 that have parallel cubic form with respect to the Levi-Civita connection of the affine Berwald-Blaschke metric; it is known that they are affine spheres. In dimension n?7 we give a complete classification of such hypersurfaces; in particular, we present new examples of affine spheres.  相似文献

Locally convex compact hypersurfaces immersed in a hollow simply connected Riemannian space of nonpositive sectional curvature are considered. They are proved to be convex hypersurfaces homeomorphic to the sphere. A similar result for immersed hypersurfaces with nonpositive definite second quadratic form of rank no smaller than one is obtained. The theory of locally convex cones as a branch of functional analysis was presented by K. Keimel and W. Roth in [K. Keimel, W. Roth, Ordered Cones and Approximation, Lecture Notes in Math., vol. 1517, Springer-Verlag, Heidelberg, 1992]. We study some more results about dual cones and adjoint operators on locally convex cones. Moreover we introduce the concept of the uniformly precompact sets and discuss their relations with σ-bounded sets. This paper deals with curvature homogeneous affine connections on -dimensional manifolds. We give a sufficient condition for a projectively flat curvature homogeneous connection to be locally homogeneous and show how to construct curvature homogeneous connections that are not locally homogeneous.

Let X be a real locally uniformly convex Banach space with normalized duality mapping J:X→2X*. The purpose of this note is to show that for every R>0 and every x0X there exists a function , which is nondecreasing and such that (r)>0 for r>0,(0)=0 and
for all . Simply, it is shown that the necessity part of the proof of the original analogous necessary and sufficient condition of Prüß, for real uniformly convex Banach spaces, goes over equally well in the present setting. Very recently Tkachuk has proved that for a completely regular Hausdorff space X the space Cp(X) of continuous real-valued functions on X with the pointwise topology is metrizable, complete and separable iff Cp(X) is Baire (i.e. of the second Baire category) and is covered by a family of compact sets such that KαKβ if α?β. Our general result, which extends some results of De Wilde, Sunyach and Valdivia, states that a locally convex space E is separable metrizable and complete iff E is Baire and is covered by an ordered family of relatively countably compact sets. Consequently every Baire locally convex space which is quasi-Suslin is separable metrizable and complete.  相似文献
