Exchange biased IrMn/NiFe/IrMn thin films were studied as a function of NiFe thickness. In plane angular dependence of a resonance field distribution which is measured by FMR was analyzed as a combined effect of an unidirectional anisotropy and an uniaxial anisotropy. The unidirectional anisotropic field and the uniaxial anisotropic field were linearly varied with NiFe thickness while the films with a thicker NiFe layer do not follow the linear variation. Resonance field and linewidth variations were also analysed with NiFe thickness.  相似文献

SWR spectra of exchange-coupled NiFe/Cu/NiFe structures were investigated. We found that the optical satellites of exchange spin-wave modes are characterized not by the standard Kittel dependence but by their own dependence of the resonance field on the mode number: H r opt(n) ∼ n 5/2.  相似文献

The dependence on nickel oxide thickness in unidirectional and isotropic exchange-coupled NiO/NiFe bilayer films was investigated by magnetic force microscopy to better understand exchange biasing at microscopic length scales. As the NiO thickness increased, the domain structure of unidirectional biased films formed smaller and more complex in-plane domains. By contrast, for the isotropically coupled films, large domains generally formed with increasing NiO thickness including a new cross type domain with out-of-plane magnetization orientation. The density of the cross domain is proportional to exchange biasing field, and the fact that the domain mainly originated from the strongest exchange coupled region was confirmed by imaging in an applied external field during a magnetization cycle.  相似文献

用第一性原理方法研究了在微观尺度具有三重对称磁结构的IrMn合金的反铁磁自旋阀(AFSV)的电子输运.研究表明:基于有序L12相IrMn合金的Co/Cu/IrMn自旋阀的巨磁电阻(GMR)效应具有三重对称性,可以利用这一特性区分反铁磁材料的GMR与传统铁磁材料的GMR.基于无序γ相IrMn合金的IrMn(0.84 nm)/Cu(0.42 nm)/IrMn(0.42 nm)/Cu(0.42 nm)(111) AFSV的电流平行平面构型的GMR约为7.7%,大约是电流垂直平面构型的GMR(3.4%)的两倍,明显大于实验中观测到的基于共线磁结构的FeMn基AFSV的GMR. 关键词: 反铁磁自旋阀 巨磁电阻效应 非共线磁结构 电流平行平面结构  相似文献

Planar Hall Effect (PHE) in NiFe(t)/IrMn(10.0 nm) thin film structures has been experimentally investigated as a function of NiFe thickness in the range from 3 to 20 nm, under the applied magnetic field perpendicular to the easy axis. The PHE voltage change and its field sensitivity increase with NiFe thickness, but the field interval of two voltage maxima decreases with the thickness. There are good agreements between measured and calculated PHE voltage profiles, where the parameters of exchange-biased and effective anisotropy fields have been characterized to decrease with NiFe thickness. However, an anisotropic resistivity change increases as the NiFe thickness increases. These analyses suggest that PHE is the effective method, inferred to single domain, to determine the electrical and magnetic parameters in magnetic devices.  相似文献

The magnetization-direction-dependent inverse spin Hall effect(ISHE) has been observed in NiFe film during spin Seebeck measurement in IrMn/NiFe/Cu/yttrium iron garnet(YIG) multilayer structure, where the YIG and NiFe layers act as the spin injector and spin current detector, respectively. By using the NiFe/IrMn exchange bias structure, the magnetization direction of YIG(MYIG) can be rotated with respect to that of NiFe(MNiFe) with a small magnetic field, thus allowing us to observe the magnetization-direction-dependent inverse spin Hall effect voltage in NiFe layer. Compared with the situation that polarization direction of spin current(σs) is perpendicular to MNiFe, the spin Seebeck voltage is about 30% larger than that when σs and MNiFe are parallel to each other. This phenomenon may originate from either or both of stronger interface or bulk scattering to spin current when σs and MNiFe are perpendicular to each other. Our work provides a way to control the voltage induced by ISHE in ferromagnets.  相似文献

The exchange coupling strength of NiFe/Cu/IrMn trilayer films was examined with both a new magneto optical Kerr effect (MOKE) method developed for the exchange coupling field determination and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) measurements. We found that the value for exchange coupling field obtained by the MOKE technique coincided with FMR result with high accuracy. Other peculiarities of FMR measurements due to interlayer exchange coupling such as angular dependence of resonance field on Cu spacer thickness are also shown in the article.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of Mo/IrMn/Co/Mo/SiO2/Si structures with alternative sequences of the antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic layers have been studied by measuring the angular dependence of the high-frequency radiation absorption in the ferromagnetic resonance region. The layers have been prepared by pulsed laser deposition in the absence of a magnetic field. It has been found that thermal annealing and cooling make it possible to create the exchange bias in the structure with the upper antiferromagnetic layer at a temperature much below the Néel temperature. At the same time, the identical heat treatment does not induce the exchange bias in the structure with the upper ferromagnetic layer. The possible mechanisms of the phenomena observed are discussed.  相似文献

The MR characteristics of temperature variations ranging from room temperature to 570 K for IrMn spin-valves which consist of free layer Co, CoFe and NiFe were studied. Co-SV had the highest MR value in all temperature ranges among them and even at 510 K the MR ratio held more than half of room temperature value. Whereas CoFe-SV had a slightly higher MR than NiFe-SV below 450 K, above 450 K CoFe-SV showed a lower MR ratio than NiFe-SV. MR loops of large coercivity such as CoFe free magnetic layer collapsed in the lower elevated temperature compared to NiFe and Co. Small coercivity of the free magnetic layer would be preferable to spin-valves.  相似文献

This paper reports that the CoFe/IrMn bilayers are deposited by magnetron sputtering on the surfaces of thermallyoxidized Si substrates.It investigates the thermal relaxations of both non-irradiated and Ga + ion irradiated CoFe/IrMn bilayers by means of holding the bilayers in a negative saturation field.The results show that exchange bias field decreases with the increase of holding time period for both non-irradiated and Ga + ion irradiated CoFe/IrMn bilayers.Exchange bias field is also found to be smaller upon irradiation at higher ion dose.This reduction of exchange bias field is attributed to the change of energy barrier induced by ion-radiation.  相似文献

The preparation conditions and the magnitudes of the uniaxial and unidirectional magnetic anisotropies of IrMn/Co structures with an alternative sequence of deposition of antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic layers upon heat treatment and cooling in an external magnetic field have been investigated. It has been revealed that the unidirectional anisotropy (exchange bias) arises in the structure with an antiferromagnetic layer deposited on a ferromagnetic layer (TS structure) at an annealing temperature of higher than 100°C. In structures with a ferromagnetic layer deposited on an antiferromagnetic layer (BS structure), the exchange bias does not arise in the annealing temperature range under investigation. The possible factors responsible for this effect and the ratio between the temperature of the appearance of the exchange bias and the Néel temperature have been discussed.  相似文献

The electrical resistivity of GdP single crystals has been measured between 4.2 and 300 K as function of the stoichiometry. The metallic type of resistivity exhibits critical scattering of electrons at the Néel temperature. Within the range of stoichiometries investigated, the type of scattering changes between “Ornstein-Zernike” like and “Fisher-Langer” like. The magneto-resistance is negative.  相似文献

In magnetic nanoparticles the uniform precession (q = 0 spin wave) mode gives the predominant contribution to the magnetic excitations. We have calculated the energy of the uniform mode in antiferromagnetic nanoparticles with uncompensated magnetic moments, using the coherent potential approximation. In the presence of uncompensated moments, an antiferromagnetic nanoparticle must be considered as a kind of a ferrimagnet. Two magnetic anisotropy terms are considered, a planar term confining the spins to the basal plane, and an axial term determining an easy axis in this plane. Excitation energies are calculated for various combinations of these two anisotropy terms, ranging from the simple uniaxial case to the planar case with a strong out-of-plane anisotropy. In the simple uniaxial case, the uncompensated moment has a large influence on the excitation energy, but in the planar case it is much less important. The calculations explain recent neutron scattering measurements on nanoparticles of antiferromagnetic α-Fe2O3 and NiO.  相似文献
