In this paper, some existence results for a nonlinear complementarity problem involving a pseudo-monotone mapping over an arbitrary closed convex cone in a real Hilbert space are established. In particular, some known existence results for a nonlinear complementarity problem in a finite-dimensional Hilbert space are generalized to an infinite-dimensional real Hilbert space. Applications to a class of nonlinear complementarity problems and the study of the post-critical equilibrium state of a thin elastic plate subjected to unilateral conditions are given.This research was partially supported by the National Science Foundation Grant DMS-89-13089, Department of Energy Grant DE-FG03-87-ER-25028, and Office of Naval Research Grant N00014-89-J-1659. In this paper, by virtue of the matrix geometric mean and the polar decomposition, we present new Wielandt type inequalities for matrices of any size. To this end, based on results due to J.I. Fujii, we reform a matrix Cauchy–Schwarz inequality, which differs from ones due to Marshall and Olkin. As an application, we show a new block matrix version of Wielandt type inequalities under the block rank additivity condition. 相似文献

The Peaceman-Rachford and Douglas-Rachford operator splitting methods are advantageous for solving variational inequality
problems, since they attack the original problems via solving a sequence of systems of smooth equations, which are much easier
to solve than the variational inequalities. However, solving the subproblems exactly may be prohibitively difficult or even
impossible. In this paper, we propose an inexact operator splitting method, where the subproblems are solved approximately
with some relative error tolerance. Another contribution is that we adjust the scalar parameter automatically at each iteration
and the adjustment parameter can be a positive constant, which makes the methods more practical and efficient. We prove the
convergence of the method and present some preliminary computational results, showing that the proposed method is promising.

In this paper, we generalize and sharpen the power means inequality by using the theory of majorization and the analytic techniques. Our results unify some optimal versions of the power means inequality. As application, a well-known conjectured inequality proposed by Janous et al. is proven. Furthermore, these results are used for studying a class of geometric inequalities for simplex, from which, some interesting inequalities including the refined Euler inequality and the reversed Finsler-Hadwiger type inequality are obtained. 相似文献
