In [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7] and [8], it is very difficult to get reproducing kernel space of problem (1). This paper is concerned with a new algorithm for giving the analytical and approximate solutions of a class of fourth-order in the new reproducing kernel space. The numerical results are compared with both the exact solution and its n-order derived functions in the example. It is demonstrated that the new method is quite accurate and efficient for fourth-order problems.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the study of the proper setting of the boundary conditions for the boundary value problems of the hyperbolic-elliptic coupled systems of first order. The wellposedness of the corresponding boundary value problems is also established. The Lopatinski conditions for the boundary value problems of the elliptic systems is then extended to the case for hyperbolic-elliptic coupled systems. The result in this paper can be applied to the Euler system in fluid dynamics, especially to give wellposed boundary value problems describing subsonic flow.  相似文献

There are three basic types of self-adjoint regular and singular boundary conditions: separated, coupled, and mixed. For even order problems with real coefficients, one regular endpoint and arbitrary deficiency index d, we give a construction for each type and determine the number of possible conditions of each type under the assumption that there are d linearly independent square-integrable solutions for some real value of the spectral parameter. In the separated case our construction yields non-real conditions for all orders greater than two. It is well known that no such conditions exist in the second order case. Our construction gives a direct alternative to the recent construction of Everitt and Markus which uses the theory of symplectic spaces. We believe our construction will prove useful in the spectral analysis of these operators and in obtaining canonical forms of self-adjoint boundary conditions. Such forms are known only in the second order, i.e. Sturm-Liouville, case. Even for regular problems of order four no such forms are available.  相似文献

Approximate solutions, similar to the type used in the Complex Variable Boundary Element Method, are shown to exist for two dimensional mixed boundary value potential problems on multiply connected domains. These approximate solutions can be used numerically to obtain least squares solutions or solutions which interpolate given boundary conditions. We study nth order boundary value problems with a nonlinear term f(t,x) subject to nonhomogeneous multi-point boundary conditions. Criteria for the existence of positive solutions of such problems are established. Conditions are determined by the relationship between the behavior of f(t,x)/x near 0 and ∞ when compared with the smallest positive characteristic value of an associated linear integral operator. This work improves and extends some recent results in the literature for the second order problems. The results are illustrated with examples.  相似文献

Solutions to nonlinear partial differential equations of fourth order are studied. Boundary regularity is proved for solutions that satisfy mixed boundary conditions. Various geometric situations including so called triple points are considered. Regularity is measured in Sobolev-Slobodeckii spaces and the results are sharp in this scale. The recently proposed expanded mixed formulation for numerical solution of second-order elliptic problems is here extended to fourth-order elliptic problems. This expanded formulation for the differential problems under consideration differs from the classical formulation in that three variables are treated, i.e., the displacement, the stress, and the moment tensors. It works for the case where the coefficient of the differential equations is small and does not need to be inverted, or for the case in which the stress tensor of the equations does not need to be symmetric. Based on this new formulation, various mixed finite elements for fourth-order problems are considered; error estimates of quasi-optimal or optimal order depending upon the mixed elements are derived. Implementation techniques for solving the linear system arising from these expanded mixed methods are discussed, and numerical results are presented. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. In this paper, the fourth-order parabolic equations with different boundary value conditions are studied. Six kinds of boundary value conditions are proposed. Several numerical differential formulae for the fourth-order derivative are established by the quartic interpolation polynomials and their truncation errors are given with the aid of the Taylor expansion with the integral remainders. Effective difference schemes are presented for the third Dirichlet boundary value problem, the first Neumann boundary value problem and the third Neumann boundary value problem, respectively. Some new embedding inequalities on the discrete function spaces are presented and proved. With the method of energy analysis, the unique solvability, unconditional stability and unconditional convergence of the difference schemes are proved. The convergence orders of derived difference schemes are all O(τ2 + h2) in appropriate norms. Finally, some numerical examples are provided to confirm the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, a weak Galerkin finite element method is proposed and analyzed for the second-order elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions. Optimal order error estimates are established in both discrete $H^1$ norm and the standard $L^2$ norm for the corresponding WG approximations. We consider linear and nonlinear boundary value problems for third-order difference equations with three-point right focal boundary conditions. In the linear case, the existence of positive solutions corresponding to the first eigenvalue of the problem is established and an interval estimate for the first eigenvalue is obtained. In the nonlinear case, sufficient conditions for the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions are obtained. An example is included at the end of the paper to illustrate the sharpness of our results.  相似文献

Using the theory of fixed point index, we discuss the existence and multiplicity of nonnegative solutions of a wide class of boundary value problems with coupled nonlinear boundary conditions. Our approach is fairly general and covers a variety of situations. We illustrate in an example that all the constants that occur in our theory can be computed.
