Elementary Operators on Standard Operator Algebras

We present a new simple proof of the structural result for elementary operators on standard operator algebras. Using the idea of this short proof we can characterize surjective maps between standard operator algebras having a certain multiplicativity-like property appearing in the abstract definition of elementary operators of length one. In particular, we show that such maps are automatically additive.

Quasinilpotent Operators in Operator Lie Algebras

It is proved that the nilpotent Lie algebra generated by a family of decomposable operators generates an Engel- Banach algebra. We also proved that if a Lie algebra of quasinilpotent operators is essentially nilpotent, then the Banach algebra generated by this Lie algebra consists of quasinilpotent operators.

Norm Closures of Operator Algebras with Symbolic Structure

We investigate norm closures of operator algebras with symbolic structure in an axiomatic setting. Typical examples are given by algebras of zero order pseudodifferential operators on (possibly noncompact) manifolds. It is our aim to study properties of the completed algebras by means of the associated extensions of the symbolic calculus. Particularly we like to prove spectral Invariance or even the ?-property in the sense of B. Gramsch and to discuss some of the main Implications.     

The Lower Socle and Finite Rank Elementary Operators

Abstract

We define the lower socle of a semiprime algebra 𝒜 as the sum of all minimal left ideals 𝒜e where e is a minimal idempotent such that the division algebra e𝒜e is finite dimensional. We study the connection between the condition that the elements a _k , b _k , 1 ≤ k ≤ n, lie in the lower socle of 𝒜 and the condition that the elementary operator x ? a ₁ xb ₁ + ? + a _n xb _n has finite rank. As an application we obtain some results on derivations certain of whose powers have finite rank.     

Continuity of Pseudo-differential Operators Associated with the Bessel Operator in Some Gevrey Spaces

The pseudo-differential operator (p.d.o) h w , a associated with the Bessel operator d 2 / dx 2 + (1 m 4 w 2 )/4 x 2 involving the symbol a ( x , y ) whose derivatives satisfy certain growth conditions depending on some increasing sequences, is studied on certain Gevrey spaces (ultradifferentiable function spaces).
