A continuous monitoring system for cyanide with a galvanic hydrogen cyanide sensor and an aeration pump for purging was developed. Hydrogen cyanide evolved from cyanide solution using a purging pump was measured with the hydrogen cyanide sensor. The system showed good performance in terms of stability and selectivity. A linear calibration curve was obtained in the concentrating range from 0 to 15 mg dm3 of cyanide ion with a slope of −0.24 μA mg−1 dm−3. The lower detection limit was 0.1 mg dm−3. The 90% response time of the sensor system was within 3.5 min for a 0.5 mg dm−3 cyanide solution, when the flow rate of the purging air was 1 dm3 min−1. The system maintained the initial performance for 6 months in the field test. The developed galvanic sensor system was not subject to interference from sulfide and residual chlorine, compared with a potentiometric sensor system developed previously. The analytical results obtained by the present system were in good agreement with those obtained by the pyridine pyrazolone method. The correlation factor and regression line between both methods were 0.979 and Y=2.30×10−4+1.12X, respectively. This system was successfully applied for a continuous monitoring of cyanide ion in waste water.  相似文献

Four solid-phase reagents have been tested for indirect determination of cyanide using flow injection analysis-flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FIA-FAAS). The method is based on insertion of aqueous cyanide solutions into an on-line Ag2X (where X are SO32−, Cr2O72−, C2O42− and CO32−) packed column (25%, m/m suspended on silica gel beads) and re-distilled water or sodium hydroxide are used as the carrier stream. The eluent containing the analyte as silver cyanide complexes, produced from reaction between Ag2X and cyanide, measured by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The method is simple, fast and selective than other published FIA procedures. A relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) better than 1.12% was obtained in a repeatability study. The method was applied to the determination of cyanide in industrial electrolytic baths.  相似文献

Two novel uranyl PVC matrix membrane sensors responsive to uranyl ion are described. The first sensor incorporates tris(2-ethylhexyl)phosphate (TEHP) as both electroactive material and plasticizer and sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) as an ion discriminator. The sensor displays a rapid and linear response for UO22+ ions over the concentration range 1×10−1–2×10−5 mol l−1 UO22+ with a cationic slope of 25.0±0.2 mV decade−1. The working pH range is 2.8–3.6 and the life span is 4 weeks. The second sensor contains O-(1,2-dihydro-2-oxo-1-pyridyl)-N,N,N′,N′-bis(tetra-methylene)uronium hexafluorophosphate (TPTU) as a sensing material, sodium tetraphenylborate as an ion discriminator and dioctyl phenylphosphonate (DOPP) as a plasticizer. Linear and stable response for 1×10−1–5×10−5 mol l−1 UO22+ with near-Nernstian slope of 27.5±0.2 mV decade−1 are obtained. The working pH range is 2.5–3.5 and the life span of the sensor is 6 weeks. Interference from many inorganic cations is negligible for both sensors. However, interference caused by some ions (e.g. Th4+, Cu2+, Fe3+) is eliminated by a prior ion exchange or solvent extraction step. Direct potentiometric determination of as little as 5 μg ml−1 uranium in aqueous solutions shows an average recovery of 97.2±1.3%. Application for the determination of uranium at levels of 0.01–1 wt.% in naturally occurring and certified ores gives results with good correlation with data obtained by X-ray fluorescence.  相似文献

The construction and electrochemical response characteristics of poly (vinyl chloride) and poly (vinyl chloride) carboxylate membrane sensors for the determination of cyclophosphamide and ifosphamide are described. Based on the formation of an ion-pair complex between the drug cation and sodium tetraphenylborate, two poly (vinyl chloride) sensors, namely a cyclophosphamide membrane sensor and ifosphamide membrane sensor were fabricated. They show a linear response for both drugs over the concentration range 10−2–10−4 M with cationic slopes of 56 and 54.6 mV per concentration decade, for sensor 1 and sensor 2, respectively. Based on the interaction between the drug solution and the dissociated COOH groups in the poly (vinyl chloride) carboxylate, sensor 3 was fabricated. It shows a linear response for both drugs over the concentration range 10−3–10−5 M with a cationic slope of 49.7 mV per concentration decade. The direct potentiometric determination of cyclophosphamide and ifosphamide in their pharmaceutical preparations using the proposed sensors gave average recoveries of 101.3±0.6, 100.8±10.7 and 102.0±11.0% for the sensors 1, 2 and 3, respectively, which compares reasonably well with the data obtained using the British Pharmacopoeial method (1993). Sensors 1 and 2 were also used to follow up the stability of the drugs studied in the presence of their degradates. These degradation products have no diverse effect on the responses of sensors 1 and 2.  相似文献

Cloud point extraction was applied as a preconcentration step for electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) determination of As(III) in aqueous solutions. After complexation with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate, the analyte was quantitatively extracted to the surfactant-rich phase in the non-ionic surfactant octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol (Triton X-114) after centrifugation. 0.1 mol L−1 HNO3 in methanol was added to the surfactant-rich phase before ETAAS determination. The precision (R.S.D.) for 11 replicate determinations of 5.0 μg L−1 of As(III) was 3.0%. The concentration factor, which is defined as the concentration ratio of the analyte in the final diluted surfactant-rich extract ready for ETAAS determination and in the initial solution, was 36 for As(III). The linear concentration range was from 0.1 to 20 μg L−1. The developed method was applied to the determination of As(III) in lake water and river water.  相似文献

An atomic absorption spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace copper after adsorption of its 1-nitroso-2-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid chelate on Ambersorb 572 has been developed. This chelate is adsorbed on the adsorbent in the pH range 1–8. The copper chelate is eluted with 5 ml of 0.1 mol l−1 potassium cyanide and determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The selectivity of the proposed procedure was also evaluated. Results show that iron(III), zinc(II), manganese(II) and cobalt(II) at the 50 μg l−1 level and sodium(I), potassium(I), magnesium(II), calcium(II) and aluminium(III) at the 1000 μg l−1 level did not interfere. A high enrichment factor, 200, was obtained. The detection limit (3σ) of copper was 0.34 μg l−1. The precision of the method, evaluated by seven replicate analyses of solutions containing 5 μg of copper was satisfactory and the relative standard deviation was 1.7%. The adsorption of copper onto Ambersorb 572 can formally be described by a Langmuir equation with a maximum adsorption capacity of 14.3 mg g−1 and a binding constant of 0.00444 l mg−1. The accuracy of the method is confirmed by analysing tomatoes leaves (NIST 1573a) and lead base alloy (NBS 53e). The results demonstrated good agreement with the certified values. This procedure was applied to the determination of copper in waters (tap, river and thermal waters), aluminium foil and tea samples.  相似文献

An analytical method using silica gel chemically modified with zirconium (IV) phosphate for preconcentration of lead and copper, in a column system, and their sequential determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), was developed. Sample solutions are passed through a glass column packed with 100 mg of the sorbent material, at pH 4.5, and lead and copper are eluted with 1.0 mol l−1 HNO3 at a flow rate of 2.0 ml min−1. The extraction of copper is affected by Fe(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) while only Fe(II) interferes in the lead determination. These interferences may be overcome with an appropriate addition of a KI or NaF solution. An enrichment factor of 30 was obtained for both metals. While the limits of detection (3σ) were 6.1 and 1.1 μg l−1, for Pb and Cu, respectively, the limits of determination were 16.7 and 3.3 μg l−1. The precision expressed as relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) obtained for 3.3 μg l−1 of Cu and 16.7 μg l−1 of Pb were 4.3 and 4.7%, respectively, calculated from ten measurements. The proposed method was evaluated with reference material and was applied for the determination of lead and copper in industrial and river waters.  相似文献

An on-line flow injection (FI) precipitation–dissolution system with microwave-assisted sample digestion has been developed for the electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) determination of trace or ultratrace amounts of molybdenum in human blood serum and whole blood samples. After the exposure of the sample to microwave radiation, the on-line precipitation of molybdenum was achieved by the merging-zone of a 0.5-ml plug of sample with a plug of potassium ferrocyanide, which were carried downstream with a solution of 0.5 mol l−1 of HNO3. The interfering effects of iron and copper were minimized by the introduction of a flow of a 5% (w/v) sodium potassium tartrate (for iron) and 2% (w/v) of thiourea (for copper and zinc) in a 5% (v/v) ammonia and 2% (v/v) ammonium chloride solution previous to the precipitation reaction. The reddish-brown precipitate of molybdenyl ferrocyanide was collected on the walls of a knotted reactor. The precipitate was dissolved with the introduction of 1 ml of a 3.0 mol l−1 NaOH solution and the best performance in terms of detection limit and precision was achieved when a sub-sample of 140 μl was collected in a capillary of a sampling arm assembly, to introduce 20 μl volumes into the atomizer by means of positive displacement with air through a time-based injector. A detection limit (3σ) of 0.1 μg Mo l−1 using an aqueous standard solution was obtained. The method is quantitative and is applied over the range 0.2–20.0 μg Mo l−1. The precision of the method evaluated by ten replicate analyses of aqueous standard solutions containing 0.5 and 1.0 μg Mo l−1 was 2.8 and 3.1% (relative standard deviation, RSD) (for n=5), respectively. Whereas, the precision evaluated by five replicate analysis of a serum and a whole blood sample were 3.3 and 3.8% RSD. An enrichment factor of ca. 3.5 was achieved with the introduction of 0.5 ml aqueous standard solutions at a sample flow rate of 1.0 ml min−1. Recoveries of spiked molybdenum in blood serum and whole blood were in the ranges 96–102 and 94–98%, respectively. The results obtained for two human whole blood certified reference materials were in good agreement with the indicative values.  相似文献

Natural salt minerals often contain inclusions of saturated salt solutions with diameters from 1 to> 100 μm. With the quantification of the composition of the fluid inclusions, the origin and metamorphism of the salt rocks can be interpreted. Hence, these data are important concerning the long-term safety of underground repositories in salt rocks [1]. For the extraction of the solutions in fluid inclusions with diameters 300 μm, an optical precision instrument was developed. For the simultaneous determination of Cl, Br, SO42−, Li+, Na+, K+, Mg2+ and Ca2+ two ion chromatographic systems with conductivity detection for cations and anions and additional photometric detection for Br were used. To prevent column overload, the Cl concentration must be less than 50 μg/ml in the measuring solution. The extracted samples (volumes> 0.1 μl) are diluted with demineralized water by a factor of 1 · 104 (20-μl sample loops). The practical limit of determination for the measured elements is 0.01–0.3 μg/ml in the measuring solutions. By calculation of the anion and cation charge balance (molar equivalence), a relative error of <5% for the analysis of fluid inclusions was found.  相似文献

Acetylacetone, ethylacetoacetate and salicyldehyde, are reported to form chelates with copper of high stability as compared to other metals. Therefore, PVC based membranes of bis[acetylacetonato] Cu(II) (A), bis[ethylacetoacetate] Cu(II) (B) and bis[salicyldehyde] Cu(II) (C) have been investigated as copper(II) selective sensors. The addition of sodium tetraphenylborate and various plasticizers, viz., DOS, TEHP, DOP, DBP and TBP have been found to substantially improve the performance of the sensors. The membranes of various compositions of the three chelates were investigated and it was found that the best performance was obtained for the membrane of composition A (1%): PVC (33%): TBP (65%): NaTPB (1%). The sensor shows a linear potential response to Cu(II) over wide concentration range 2.0 × 10−6 to 1.0 × 10−1 M (detection limit 0.1 ppm) with Nernstian compliance (29.3 mV decade−1 of activity) between pH 2.6 and 6.0 with a fast response time of 9 s. The potentiometric selectivity coefficient values as determined by match potential method (MPM) indicate excellent selectivity for Cu2+ ions over interfering cations. The sensor exhibits adequate shelf life (3 months) with good reproducibility (S.D. ±0.2 mV). The sensor has been used in the potentiometric titration of Cu2+ with EDTA. The utility of the sensor has been tested by determining copper in vegetable foliar and multivitamin capsule successfully.  相似文献

The proposed method for cyanide determination at the ultratrace level by differential pulse voltammetry is based in the sensitivity enhancement obtained when both Cu(II) and EDTA are present in the background electrolyte. Comparison of the detection limits and linear dynamic ranges using the conventional borate (pH 9.75), and the proposed borate-EDTA–Cu(II) background electrolytes was carried out. Best results have been obtained with the addition of 0.5 mmol l−1 EDTA and 0.02 mmol l−1 of Cu(II), which allow a detection limit of 1.7 μg l−1 CN (65 nmol l−1 — absolute detection limit 34 ng) with a precision better than ±2% for a 40 μg l−1 level. Calibration range extended from detection limit up to 100 μg l−1. Cyclic voltammetry indicates that the measured cyanide peak is obtained when the electrogenerated CuCN adsorbed onto the hanging mercury drop electrode surface, is oxidised at positive going potential scan. The method has been successfully applied to various industrial waste waters such as metal-finishing waste waters, water/sand mixtures from cleaning processes of coke production, leachates from wastes obtained from electrolytic cells of aluminium production, and liquors from gold extraction industry. Results obtained by the proposed method showed good agreement with those obtained by the standard methods (ion-selective potentiometry and the spectrophotometric pyridine method).  相似文献

An on-line automated system for the simultaneous flow injection determination of calcium and fluoride in natural and borehole water with conventional calcium-selective and fluoride-selective membrane electrodes as sensors in series is described. Samples (30 μl) are injected into a TISAB II (pH=5.50) carrier solution as an ionic strength adjustment buffer. The sample-buffer zone formed is first channeled to a fluoride-selective membrane electrode and then via the calcium-selective membrane electrode to the reference electrodes. The system is suitable for the simultaneous on-site monitoring of calcium (linear range 10−5–10−2 mol l−1 detection limit 1.94×10−6 mol l−1 recovery 99.22%, RSD<0.5%) and fluoride (linear range 10−5–10−2 mol l−1 detection limit 4.83×10−6 mol l−1 recovery 98.63%, RSD=0.3%) at a sampling rate of 60 samples h−1.  相似文献

Amperometric enzyme biosensors for the determination of acetylcholine (ACh) and choline (Ch) have been described. For the fabrication of the biosensors, N-acetylaniline (nAN) was first electropolymerized on a Pt electrode surface to be served as a permselective layer to reject interferences. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) and choline oxidase (CHOD) were co-immobilized in a zinc oxide (ZnO) sol–gel membrane on the above modified Pt electrode for a Ch sensor, or CHOD, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and BSA immobilized together for an ACh/Ch sensor. The poly (N-acetylaniline) (pnAN) film was the first time used for an ACh/Ch sensor and found to have excellent anti-interference ability, and the BSA in the sol–gel can improve the stability and activity of the enzymes. Amperometric detection of ACh and Ch were realized at an applied potential of +0.6 V versus SCE. The resulting sensors were characterized by fast response, expanded linear range and low interference from endogenous electroactive species. Temperature and pH dependence and stability of the sensor were investigated. The optimal ACh/Ch sensor gave a linear response range of 1.0 × 10−6 to 1.5 × 10−3 M to ACh with a detection limit (S/N = 3) of 6.0 × 10−7 M and a linear response range up to 1.6 × 10−3 M to Ch with a detection limit of 5.0 × 10−7 M. The biosensor demonstrated a 95% response within less than 10 s.  相似文献

A novel polymeric membrane sensor sensitive to (4-sulphophenylazo-)1-naphthylamine (SPAN) based on the use of tris(bathophenanthroline) Ni(II)–SPAN ion pair as an ion exchanger in plasticised PVC membrane is described. The sensor exhibits a linear calibration plot with near-Nernstian anionic slope of −55.0±0.3 mV log[SPAN]−1 over the concentration range 10−6–10−2 mol l−1 at pH 7. The sensor shows working range over the pH 6–8, response time of 20 s for 10−5 mol l−1 and operational lifetime of 8 weeks. The sensor is used for quantification of micro quantities of nitrite ion by a prior conversion into the more lipophilic SPAN ion, which is measured with adequate sensitivity, and high selectivity using SPAN sensor. Validation of the method according to the quality assurance standards shows good performance characteristics. The sensor is satisfactory utilised for potentiometric determination of nitrite ion in wastewater samples and meat products. The results are favourably compared with data obtained using the standard spectrophotometric procedure involving the same reaction.  相似文献

PVC-based membranes of meso-tetrakis-{4-[tris-(4-allyl dimethylsilyl-phenyl)-silyl]-phenyl}porphyrin (I) and (sal)2trien (II) as electroactive material with dioctylphthalate (DOP), tri-n-butylphosphate (TBP), chloronapthalene (CN), dibutylphthalate (DBP) and dibutyl(butyl) phosphonate (DBBP) as plasticising solvent mediators have been found to act as Ni2+ selective sensor. The best performance was obtained with the sensor having a membrane of composition of I: sodium tetraphenyl borate: PVC in the ratio 5:5:150. The sensor exhibits Nernstian response in the activity range 2.5 × 10−6 to 1.0 × 10−1 M, performs satisfactorily over wide pH range (2–5.5) with a fast response time (8 s). The sensor was found to work satisfactorily in partially non-aqueous media up to 20% (v/v) content of methanol or ethanol and acetone and could be used over a period of 4 months. Potentiometric selectivity coefficients determined by matched potential method (MPM) indicate excellent selectivity for Ni2+ ions. The sensors could be used successfully in the estimation of nickel in different brand of chocolates and also as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration.  相似文献

An analytical flow-injection procedure based on PbSO4 colloidal formation is proposed as a turbidimetric determination of sulphate in natural waters. Ethanol-water was used as a medium in order to improve the sensibility of the method. Both chemical and flow variables as well as interfering species were studied. A detection limit of 0.3 μg SO2−4 ml−1 was found, and the analytical range (according to Beer's law) was 2–20 μg SO2−4 ml−1. The precision was better than 3% R.S.D. and the sample throughput was ca. 35 h−1. The method, when compared with a standard methodology, gave good results when applied to water analysis.  相似文献

An on-line flow injection system has been developed for the selective determination of Se(IV) and Se(VI) in citric fruit juices and geothermal waters by hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry with microwave-aided heating prereduction of Se(VI) to Se(IV). The samples and the prereductant solutions (4 mol l−1 HCl for Se(IV) and 12 mol l−1 HCl for Se(VI)) which circulated in a closed-flow circuit were injected by means of a time-based injector. This mixture was displaced by a carrier solution of 1% v/v of hydrochloric acid through a PTFE coil located inside the focused microwave oven and mixed downstream with a borohydride solution to generate the hydride. The linear ranges were 0–120 and 0–100 μg l−1 of Se(IV) and Se(VI), respectively. The detection limits were 1.0 μg l−1 for Se(IV) and 1.5 μg l−1 for Se(VI). The precision (about 2.0–2.5% RSD) and recoveries (96–98% for Se(IV) and 94–98% for Se(VI)) were good. Total selenium values were also obtained by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry which agreed with the content of both selenium species. The sample throughput was about 50 measurements per hour. The main advantage of the method is that the selective determination of Se(IV) and Se(VI) in citric fruit juices and geothermal waters is performed in a closed system with a minimum sample manipulation, exposure to the environment, minimum sample waste and operator attention.  相似文献

A HPLC method with automated column switching and UV-diode array detection is described for the simultaneous determination of Vitamin D3 and 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25-OH-D3) in a sample of human plasma. The system uses a BioTrap precolumn for the on-line sample cleanup. A sample of 1 ml of human plasma was treated with 2 ml of a mixture of ethanol–acetonitrile (2:1 (v/v)). Following centrifugation, the supernatant was evaporated to dryness under a stream of dry and pure nitrogen. The residue was reconstituted in 250 μL of a solution of methanol 5 mmol l−1 phosphate buffer, pH 6.5 (4:1 (v/v)), and a 200 μl aliquot of this solution was injected onto the BioTrap precolumn. After washing during 5 min with a mobile phase constituted by a solution of 6% acetonitrile in 5 mmol l−1 phosphate buffer, pH 6.5 (extraction mobile phase), the retained analytes were then transferred to the analytical column in the backflush mode. The analytical separation was then performed by reverse-phase chromatography in the gradient elution mode with the solvents A and B (Solvent A: acetonitrile–phosphate buffer 5 mmol l−1, pH 6.5; 20:80 (v/v); solvent B: methanol–acetonitrile–tetrahydrofuran, 65:20:15 (v/v)). The compounds of interest were detected at 265 nm. The method was linear in the range 3.0–32.0 ng ml−1 with a limit of quantification of 3.0 ng ml−1. Quantitative recoveries from spiked plasma samples were between 91.0 and 98.0%. In all cases, the coefficient of variation (CV) of the intra-day and inter-day-assay precision was ≤2.80%. The proposed method permitted the simultaneous determination of Vitamin D3 and 25-OH-D3 in 16 min, with an adequate precision and sensitivity. However, the overlap of the sample cleanup step with the analysis increases the sampling frequency to five samples h−1. The method was successfully applied for the determination of Vitamin D3 and 25-OH-D3 in plasma from 46 female volunteers, ranging from 50 to 94 years old. Vitamin D3 and 25-OH-D3 concentrations in plasma were found from 4.30–40.70 ng ml−1 (19.74 ± 9.48 ng ml−1) and 3.1–36.52 ng ml−1 (7.13 ± 7.80 ng ml−1), respectively. These results were in good agreement with data published by other authors.  相似文献

An electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor with good long-term stability and fast response time has been developed. The sensor was based on the immobilization of tris(2,2′-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II) (Ru(bpy)32+) into the Eastman-AQ55D–silica composite thin films on a glassy carbon electrode. The ECL and electrochemistry of Ru(bpy)32+ immobilized in the composite thin films have been investigated, and the modified electrode was used for the ECL detection of oxalate, tripropylamine (TPA) and chlorpromazine (CPZ) in a flow injection analysis system and showed high sensitivity. Because of the strong electrostatic interaction and low hydrophobicity of Eastman-AQ55D, the sensor showed no loss of response over 2 months of dry storage. In use, the electrode showed only a 5% decrease in response over 100 potential cycles. The detection limit was 1 μmol l−1 for oxalate and 0.1 μmol l−1 for both TPA and CPZ (S/N=3), respectively. The linear range extended from 50 μmol l−1 to 5 mmol l−1 for oxalate, from 20 μmol l−1 to 1 mmol l−1 for TPA, and from 1 μmol l−1 to 200 μmol l−1 for CPZ.  相似文献

An extremely sensitive, reliable and simple procedure is described for the determination of physiological palladium, platinum and gold in human urine. The urine samples were adjusted to pH 4 (Pd, Au) or pH 5 (Pt), followed by conversion of the analytes to their pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate complexes. These complexes were separated from the matrix by liquid-liquid extraction into 4-methyl-2-pentanone resulting in a 25-fold enrichment. Determination was by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ET-AAS) using longitudinal inverse alternating current Zeeman-effect background correction. The limits of detection calculated from three standard deviations of the blank values were 20 ng l−1 for Pd and Au and 70 ng l−1 Pt. Within-day precision (n = 10, 5 μg l−1) ranged 5.2%–7.7%. The procedure is successfully applied to determine urinary palladium, platinum and gold in nine unexposed persons. Palladium levels in urine ranged < 20–80 ng l−1 (arithmetical MEAN=38.7 ng l−1), while gold levels ranged < 20–130 ng l−1 (36.0 ng l−1). Physiological platinum levels in urine were all < 70 ng l−1. The accuracy of the procedure was checked by analyzing a series of urine samples by a second independent method (magnetic sector field inductively-coupled plasma-mass spectrometry) in combination with UV photolysis.  相似文献
