A class of numerical methods is developed for second order Volterra integrodifferential equations by using a Legendre spectral approach.We provide a rigorous error analysis for the proposed methods,which shows that the numerical errors decay exponentially in the L∞-norm and L2-norm.Numerical examples illustrate the convergence and effectiveness of the numerical methods.  相似文献

The main purpose of this work is to provide a numerical method for the solution of Volterra functional integro-differential equations of neutral type based on a spectral approach. We analyze the convergence properties of the spectral method to approximate smooth solutions of Volterra functional integro-differential equations of neutral type. It is shown that for the neutral integro-differential equations, the spectral methods yield an exponential order of convergence.  相似文献

We consider the system of integral equations of the form Ax +V x = Ψ, where V is the Volterra operator with kernel of convolution type and A is a constant matrix, det A = 0. The piecewise polynomial collocation method is discussed to solve linear Volterra integro-differential equations with weakly singular or other nonsmooth kernels. Using special graded grids, global convergence estimates are derived. We show that if V α (α > 0) is the Riemann-Liouville fractional integration operator and T is an invertible operator on L 2(0, 1) which commutes with V , then TV α is not supercyclic on L 2(0, 1); in particular, many Volterra convolution operators are not supercyclic. The technique is based on an argument used by Gallardo-Gutiérrez and Montes-Rodríguez to show that V is not supercyclic.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with obtaining an approximate solution and an approximate derivative of the solution for neutral Volterra integro-differential equation with a weakly singular kernel. The solution of this equation, even for analytic data, is not smooth on the entire interval of integration. The Jacobi collocation discretization is proposed for the given equation. A rigorous analysis of error bound is also provided which theoretically justifies that both the error of approximate solution and the error of approximate derivative of the solution decay exponentially in $L^∞$ norm and weighted $L^2$ norm. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the spectral method.  相似文献

We carry out spectral analysis of one class of integral operators associated with fractional order differential equations applicable in mechanics. 提出了一种只需要存储部分历史数据的分数积分的数值计算方法,并给出了误差估计。这种方法可对包含分数积分和分数导数的积分-微分方程进行较长时间的数值计算,克服了存储全部历史数据的困难,并能对计算误差进行控制。作为应用,给出了具有分数导数型本构关系的粘弹性Timoshenko梁的动力学行为研究的控制方程,利用分离变量法讨论梁在简谐激励作用下的动力响应,然后用新提出的数值方法对控制方程进行数值计算,数值计算结果和理论结果进行了比较,它们比较吻合。  相似文献

In this paper, we study a nonlinear first-order singularly perturbed Volterra integro-differential equation with delay. This equation is discretized by the backward Euler for differential part and the composite numerical quadrature formula for integral part for which both an a priori and an a posteriori error analysis in the maximum norm are derived. Based on the a priori error bound and mesh equidistribution principle, we prove that there exists a mesh gives optimal first order convergence which is robust with respect to the perturbation parameter. The a posteriori error bound is used to choose a suitable monitor function and design a corresponding adaptive grid generation algorithm. Furthermore, we extend our presented adaptive grid algorithm to a class of second-order nonlinear singularly perturbed delay differential equations. Numerical results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of our presented monitor function. Meanwhile, it is shown that the standard arc-length monitor function is unsuitable for this type of singularly perturbed delay differential equations with a turning point.  相似文献
