Heterogeneously catalysed synthesis of primary amines by direct amination of alcohols with ammonia has long been an elusive goal. In contrast to reported Ru-based catalytic systems, we report that Ru–MgO/TiO2 acts as an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the direct amination of a variety of alcohols to primary amines at low temperatures of ca. 100 °C without the introduction of H2 gas. The present system could be applied to a variety of alcohols and provides an efficient synthetic route for 2,5-bis(aminomethyl)furan (BAMF), an attention-getting biomonomer. The high catalytic performance can be rationalized by the reactivity tuning of Ru–H species using MgO. Spectroscopic measurements suggest that MgO enhances the reactivity of hydride species by electron donation from MgO to Ru.

Ru–MgO/TiO2 exhibited high catalytic performance for direct amination of alcohols based on the acceleration effects of MgO.  相似文献

Loading Ag and Co dual cocatalysts on Al-doped SrTiO3 (AgCo/Al-SrTiO3) led to a significantly improved CO-formation rate and extremely high selectivity toward CO evolution (99.8%) using H2O as an electron donor when irradiated with light at wavelengths above 300 nm. Furthermore, the CO-formation rate over AgCo/Al-SrTiO3 (52.7 μmol h−1) was a dozen times higher than that over Ag/Al-SrTiO3 (4.7 μmol h−1). The apparent quantum efficiency for CO evolution over AgCo/Al-SrTiO3 was about 0.03% when photoirradiated at a wavelength at 365 nm, with a CO-evolution selectivity of 98.6% (7.4 μmol h−1). The Ag and Co cocatalysts were found to function as reduction and oxidation sites for promoting the generation of CO and O2, respectively, on the Al-SrTiO3 surface.

Deposition Ag and Co dual cocatalysts onto Al-SrTiO3 significantly improves its activity for photoreduction of CO2 by H2O, with extremely high selectivity to CO evolution (99.8%), in which Ag and Co enable CO2 reduction and H2O oxidation, respectively.  相似文献

The reaction between basic [(PCP)Pd(H)] (PCP = 2,6-(CH2P(t-C4H9)2)2C6H4) and acidic [LWH(CO)3] (L = Cp (1a), Tp (1b); Cp = η5-cyclopentadienyl, Tp = κ3-hydridotris(pyrazolyl)borate) leads to the formation of bimolecular complexes [LW(CO)2(μ-CO)⋯Pd(PCP)] (4a, 4b), which catalyze amine-borane (Me2NHBH3, tBuNH2BH3) dehydrogenation. The combination of variable-temperature (1H, 31P{1H}, 11B NMR and IR) spectroscopies and computational (ωB97XD/def2-TZVP) studies reveal the formation of an η1-borane complex [(PCP)Pd(Me2NHBH3)]+[LW(CO3)] (5) in the first step, where a BH bond strongly binds palladium and an amine group is hydrogen-bonded to tungsten. The subsequent intracomplex proton transfer is the rate-determining step, followed by an almost barrierless hydride transfer. Bimetallic species 4 are easily regenerated through hydrogen evolution in the reaction between two hydrides.

Bimetallic complexes [LW(CO)2(μ-CO)⋯Pd(PCP)] cooperatively activate amine-boranes for their dehydrogenation via N–H proton tunneling at RDS and H2 evolution from two neutral hydrides.  相似文献

The reversible reaction of H2 with a bis-phosphenium complex of chromium provides a rare example of 3d transition metal/phosphenium cooperativity. Photolysis induces the activation of H2 and yields a spectroscopically detectable phosphenium-stabilized (σ–H2)-complex, readily showing exchange with gaseous H2 and D2. Further reaction of this complex affords a phosphine-functionalized metal hydride, representing a unique example of reversible H2 cleavage across a 3d M Created by potrace 1.16, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2019 P bond. The same species is also accessible via stepwise H+/H transfer to the bis-phosphenium complex, and releases H2 upon heating or irradiation. Dihydrogen transfer from the H2-complex to styrene is exploited to demonstrate the first example of promoting hydrogenation with a phosphenium complex.

Photolysis of a phosphenium complex enables reversible activation of H2 to yield a dihydrogen complex which stimulates H2 cleavage or catalytic hydrogenation.  相似文献

Even though the transformation of syngas into aromatics has been realized via a methanol-mediated tandem process, the low product yield is still the bottleneck, limiting the industrial application of this technology. Herein, a tailor-made zeolite capsule catalyst with Ga doping and SiO2 coating was combined with the methanol synthesis catalyst Cr2O3 to boost the synthesis of value-added aromatics, especially para-xylene, from syngas. Multiple characterization studies, control experiments, and density functional theory (DFT) calculation results clarified that Ga doped zeolites with strong CO adsorption capability facilitated the transformation of the reaction intermediate methanol by optimizing the first C–C coupling step under a high-pressure CO atmosphere, thereby driving the reaction forward for aromatics synthesis. This work not only reveals the synergistic catalytic network in the tandem process but also sheds new light on principles for the rational design of a catalyst in terms of oriented conversion of syngas.

The single-pass conversion of syngas into para-xylene was realized using a bifunctional catalyst Cr2O3/Ga-ZSM-5@SiO2. The Ga species facilitates the methanol consumption process by C–C coupling optimization, enhancing the yield of the target aromatics.  相似文献

Umpolung (polarity reversal) tactics of aldehydes/ketones have greatly broadened carbonyl chemistry by enabling transformations with electrophilic reagents and deoxygenative functionalizations. Herein, we report the first ruthenium-catalyzed β-selective alkylation of vinylpyridines with both naturally abundant aromatic and aliphatic aldehyde/ketones via N2H4 mediated deoxygenative couplings. Compared with one-electron umpolung of carbonyls to alcohols, this two-electron umpolung strategy realized reductive deoxygenation targets, which were not only applicable to the regioselective alkylation of a broad range of 2/4-alkene substituted pyridines, but also amenable to challenging 3-vinyl and steric-embedded internal pyridines as well as their analogous heterocyclic structures.

Ruthenium-catalyzed β-selective alkylation of vinylpyridines with carbonyls (both aromatic and aliphatic ketones/aldehydes) via N2H4 mediated deoxygenative couplings was achieved.  相似文献

The [fac-Mn(bpy)(CO)3Br] complex is capable of catalyzing the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO with high selectivity, moderate activity and large overpotential. Several attempts have been made to lower the overpotential and to enhance the catalytic activity of this complex by manipulating the second-coordination sphere of manganese and using relatively stronger acids to promote the protonation-first pathway. We report herein that the complex [fac-Mn(bpy-CONHMe)(CO)3(MeCN)]+ ([1-MeCN]+; bpy-CONHMe = N-methyl-(2,2′-bipyridine)-6-carboxamide) as a pre-catalyst could catalyze the electrochemical reduction of CO2 to CO with low overpotential and high activity and selectivity. Combined experimental and computational studies reveal that the amide NH group not only decreases the overpotential of the Mn catalyst by promoting the dimer and protonation-first pathways in the presence of H2O but also enhances the CO2 electroreduction activity by facilitating C–OH bond cleavage, making [1-MeCN]+ an efficient CO2 reduction pre-catalyst at low overpotential.

The amide NH group decreases the overpotential of Mn-based CO2 reduction catalysts by promoting the dimer and protonation-first pathways in the presence of H2O and enhances the CO2 electroreduction activity by facilitating C–OH bond cleavage.  相似文献

Tunneled metal oxides such as α-Mn8O16 (hollandite) have proven to be compelling candidates for charge-storage materials in high-density batteries. In particular, the tunnels can support one-dimensional chains of K+ ions (which act as structure-stabilizing dopants) and H2O molecules, as these chains are favored by strong H-bonds and electrostatic interactions. In this work, we examine the role of water molecules in enhancing the stability of K+-doped α-Mn8O16 (cryptomelane). The combined experimental and theoretical analyses show that for high enough concentrations of water and tunnel-ions, H2O displaces K+ ions from their natural binding sites. This displacement becomes energetically favorable due to the formation of K2+ dimers, thereby modifying the stoichiometric charge of the system. These findings have potentially significant technological implications for the consideration of cryptomelane as a Li+/Na+ battery electrode. Our work establishes the functional role of water in altering the energetics and structural properties of cryptomelane, an observation that has frequently been overlooked in previous studies.

Water displaces potassium ions and initiates the formation of a homonuclear dimer ion (K2+) in the tunnels of hollandite.  相似文献

The degradation of neurotransmitters is a hallmark feature of Alzheimer''s disease (AD). Copper bound Aβ peptides, invoked to be involved in the pathology of AD, are found to catalyze the oxidation of serotonin (5-HT) by H2O2. A combination of EPR and resonance Raman spectroscopy reveals the formation of a Cu(ii)–OOH species and a dimeric, EPR silent, Cu2O2 bis-μ-oxo species under the reaction conditions. The Cu(ii)–OOH species, which can be selectively formed in the presence of excess H2O2, is the reactive intermediate responsible for 5-HT oxidation. H2O2 produced by the reaction of O2 with reduced Cu(i)–Aβ species can also oxidize 5-HT. Both these pathways are physiologically relevant and may be involved in the observed decay of neurotransmitters as observed in AD patients.

The mononuclear copper hydroperoxo species (Cu(ii)–OOH) of Cu–Aβ is the active oxidant responsible for serotonin oxidation by Cu–Aβ in the presence of physiologically relevant oxidants like O2 and H2O2, which can potentially cause oxidative degradation of neurotransmitters, a marker of Alzheimer''s disease.  相似文献

Controlling the reactivity of transition metal complexes by positioning non-innocent functionalities around the catalytic pocket is a concept that has led to significant advances in catalysis. Here we describe our efforts toward the synthesis of dicationic phosphine gold complexes of general formula [(o-Ph2P(C6H4)Carb)Au(tht)]2+ decorated by a carbenium moiety (Carb) positioned in the immediate vicinity of the gold center. While the most acidic examples of such compounds have limited stability, the dicationic complexes with Carb+ = 9-N-methylacridinium and Carb+ = [C(ArN)2]+ (ArN = p-(C6H4)NMe2) are active as catalysts for the cycloisomerization of N-propargyl-4-fluorobenzamide, a substrate chosen to benchmark reactivity. The dicationic complex [(o-Ph2P(C6H4)C(ArN)2)Au(tht)]2+, which also promotes hydroarylation and enyne cyclization reactions, displays a higher catalytic activity than its acridinium analog, indicating that the electrophilic reactivity of these complexes scales with the Lewis acidity of the carbenium moiety. These results support the role of the carbenium unit as a non-innocent functionality which can readily enhance the activity of the adjacent metal center. Finally, we also describe our efforts toward the generation and isolation of free γ-cationic phosphines of general formula [(o-Ph2P(C6H4)Carb)]+. While cyclization into phosphonium species is observed for Carb+ = [C(ArN)2]+, [C(Ph)(ArN)]+, and 9-xanthylium, [(o-Ph2P(C6H4)-9-N-methylacridinium)]+ can be isolated as an air stable, biphilic derivative with uncompromised Lewis acidic and basic properties.

This work describes the synthesis of carbenium-based, γ-cationic phosphines and their coordination to Au(i) cations , leading to carbophilic catalysts whose activity is enhanced by the ligand-enforced convergence of the positively charged moieties.  相似文献

Borrowing hydrogen from alcohols, storing it on a catalyst and subsequent transfer of the hydrogen from the catalyst to an in situ generated imine is the hallmark of a transition metal mediated catalytic N-alkylation of amines. However, such a borrowing hydrogen mechanism with a transition metal free catalytic system which stores hydrogen molecules in the catalyst backbone is yet to be established. Herein, we demonstrate that a phenalenyl ligand can imitate the role of transition metals in storing and transferring hydrogen molecules leading to borrowing hydrogen mediated alkylation of anilines by alcohols including a wide range of substrate scope. A close inspection of the mechanistic pathway by characterizing several intermediates through various spectroscopic techniques, deuterium labelling experiments, and DFT study concluded that the phenalenyl radical based backbone sequentially adds H+, H˙ and an electron through a dearomatization process which are subsequently used as reducing equivalents to the C–N double bond in a catalytic fashion.

An efficient method is developed for harvesting hydrogen, its storage and catalytic transfer by an odd alternant hydrocarbon. The strategy is reminiscent of transition metals in borrowing hydrogen mediated processes.  相似文献

The visible-light-driven photoreduction of CO2 to value-added chemicals over metal-free photocatalysts without sacrificial reagents is very interesting, but challenging. Herein, we present amide-bridged conjugated organic polymers (amide-COPs) prepared via self-condensation of amino nitriles in combination with hydrolysis, for the photoreduction of CO2 with H2O without any photosensitizers or sacrificial reagents under visible light irradiation. These catalysts can afford CO as the sole carbonaceous product without H2 generation. Especially, amide-DAMN derived from diaminomaleonitrile exhibited the highest activity for the photoreduction of CO2 to CO with a generation rate of 20.6 μmol g−1 h−1. Experiments and DFT calculations confirmed cyano/amide groups as active sites for CO2 reduction and second amine groups for H2O oxidation, and suggested that superior selectivity towards CO may be attributed to the adjacent redox sites. This work presents a new insight into designing photocatalysts for artificial photosynthesis.

Amino nitrile-derived conjugated organic polymers can realize the photoreduction of CO2 with water to CO without H2 generation efficiently.  相似文献

Electronic interactions can radically enhance the performance of supported metal catalysts and are critical for fundamentally understanding the nature of catalysts. However, at the microscopic level, the details of such interactions tuning the electronic properties of the sites on the metal particle''s surface and metal–support interface remain obscure. Herein, we found polarized electronic metal–support interaction (pEMSI) in oxide-supported Pd nanoparticles (NPs) describing the enhanced accumulation of electrons at the surface of NPs (superficial Pdδ) with positive Pd atoms distributed on the interface (interfacial Pdδ+). More superficial Pdδ species mean stronger pEMSI resulting from the synergistic effect of moderate Pd–oxide interaction, high structural fluxionality and electron transport activity of Pd NPs. The surface Pdδ species are responsible for improved catalytic performance for H2 evolution from metal hydrides and formates. These extensive insights into the nature of supported-metal NPs may open new avenues for regulating a metal particle''s electronic structure precisely and exploiting high-performance catalysts.

A new type of electronic effect, polarized metal-support interaction (pEMSI), in oxide-supported Pd nanoparticles describing the enhanced accumulation of electrons at the superficial surface is responsible for improved catalytic H2 evolution.  相似文献

Manganaelectro-catalyzed azidation of otherwise inert C(sp3)–H bonds was accomplished using most user-friendly sodium azide as the nitrogen-source. The operationally simple, resource-economic C–H azidation strategy was characterized by mild reaction conditions, no directing group, traceless electrons as the sole redox-reagent, Earth-abundant manganese as the catalyst, high functional-group compatibility and high chemoselectivity, setting the stage for late-stage azidation of bioactive compounds. Detailed mechanistic studies by experiment, spectrophotometry and cyclic voltammetry provided strong support for metal-catalyzed aliphatic radical formation, along with subsequent azidyl radical transfer within a manganese(iii/iv) manifold.

The merger of manganese-catalyzed C–H functionalization with electrosynthesis enabled C(sp3)–H azidation devoid of chemical oxidants or photochemical irradiation. Detailed mechanistic studies are supportive of a manganese(iii/iv) electrocatalysis.  相似文献

High proton conducting electrolytes with mechanical moldability are a key material for energy devices. We propose an approach for creating a coordination polymer (CP) glass from a protic ionic liquid for a solid-state anhydrous proton conductor. A protic ionic liquid (dema)(H2PO4), with components which also act as bridging ligands, was applied to construct a CP glass (dema)0.35[Zn(H2PO4)2.35(H3PO4)0.65]. The structural analysis revealed that large Zn–H2PO4/H3PO4 coordination networks formed in the CP glass. The network formation results in enhancement of the properties of proton conductivity and viscoelasticity. High anhydrous proton conductivity (σ = 13.3 mS cm−1 at 120 °C) and a high transport number of the proton (0.94) were achieved by the coordination networks. A fuel cell with this CP glass membrane exhibits a high open-circuit voltage and power density (0.15 W cm−2) under dry conditions at 120 °C due to the conducting properties and mechanical properties of the CP glass.

A proton-conducting coordination polymer glass derived from a protic ionic liquid works as a moldable solid electrolyte and the anhydrous fuel cell showed IV performance of 0.15 W cm−2 at 120 °C.  相似文献

The deprotonation of propargylic C–H bonds for subsequent functionalization typically requires stoichiometric metal alkyl or amide reagents. In addition to the undesirable generation of stoichiometric metallic waste, these conditions limit the functional group compatibility and versatility of this functionalization strategy and often result in regioisomeric mixtures. In this article, we report the use of dicarbonyl cyclopentadienyliron(ii) complexes for the generation of propargylic anion equivalents toward the direct electrophilic functionalization of propargylic C–H bonds under mild, catalytic conditions. This technology was applied to the direct conversion of C–H bonds to C–C bonds for the synthesis of several functionalized scaffolds through a one-pot cross dehydrogenative coupling reaction with tetrahydroisoquinoline and related privileged heterocyclic scaffolds. A series of NMR studies and deuterium-labelling experiments indicated that the deprotonation of the propargylic C–H bond was the rate-determining step when a Cp*Fe(CO)2-based catalyst system was employed.

[Cp*Fe(CO)2]+ facilitates the α-deprotonation of unsaturated C–C bond for propargylic and allylic C–H functionalization. Mechanistic studies reveal insights into the superior performance of the electron-rich and hindered ligand on iron.  相似文献

A method for remote radical C–H alkynylation and amination of diverse aliphatic alcohols has been developed. The reaction features a copper nucleophile complex formed in situ as a photocatalyst, which reduces the silicon-tethered aliphatic iodide to an alkyl radical to initiate 1,n-hydrogen atom transfer. Unactivated secondary and tertiary C–H bonds at β, γ, and δ positions can be functionalized in a predictable manner.

H2S is a well-known toxic gas and also a gaseous signaling molecule involved in many biological processes. Advanced chemical tools that can regulate H2S levels in vivo are useful for understanding H2S biology as well as its potential therapeutic effects. To this end, we have developed a series of 7-nitro-1,2,3-benzoxadiazole (NBD) amines as potential H2S scavengers. The kinetic studies of thiolysis reactions revealed that incorporation of positively-charged groups onto the NBD amines greatly increased the rate of the H2S-specific thiolysis reaction. We demonstrate that these reactions proceed effectively, with second order rate constants (k2) of >116 M−1 s−1 at 37 °C for NBD-S8. Additionally, we demonstrate that NBD-S8 can effectively scavenge enzymatically-produced and endogenous H2S in live cells. Furthering the biological significance, we demonstrate NBD-S8 mediates scavenging of H2S in mice.

We demonstrate that positively-charged NBD amines can effectively scavenge biological H2S in live cells and in mice.  相似文献

Although metal-containing polyoxomolybdates (molybdenum oxide clusters) exhibit outstanding catalytic properties, their precise synthetic method has not yet been developed. This is mainly because the very low stability of the multivacant lacunary polyoxomolybdates limited their use as synthetic precursors. Here, we present a “protecting group strategy” in polyoxometalate synthesis and successfully develop an efficient method for synthesising multinuclear metal-containing polyoxomolybdates using pyridine as a protecting group for unstable trivacant lacunary Keggin-type polyoxomolybdate [PMo9O34]9−. Specifically, tetranuclear cubane- and planar-type manganese clusters were selectively synthesised in the polyoxomolybdates using the present method. The importance of this work is that, in addition to being the first practical way of utilizing multivacant lacunary polyoxomolybdates as precursors, this new “protecting group strategy” will make it possible to produce polyoxometalates with unexplored structures and properties.

A “protecting group strategy” for unstable lacunary polyoxomolybdates enabled successful synthesis of two types of tetranuclear manganese clusters.  相似文献

The synthesis of new Schrock–Osborn Rh(i) pre-catalysts with ortho-substituted DPEphos ligands, [Rh(DPEphos-R)(NBD)][BArF4] [R = Me, OMe, iPr; ArF = 3,5-(CF3)2C6H3], is described. Along with the previously reported R = H variant, variable temperature 1H NMR spectroscopic and single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies show that these all have axial (C–H)⋯Rh anagostic interactions relative to the d8 pseudo square planar metal centres, that also result in corresponding downfield chemical shifts. Analysis by NBO, QTAIM and NCI methods shows these to be only very weak C–H⋯Rh bonding interactions, the magnitudes of which do not correlate with the observed chemical shifts. Instead, as informed by Scherer''s approach, it is the topological positioning of the C–H bond with regard to the metal centre that is important. For [Rh(DPEphos–iPr)(NBD)][BArF4] addition of H2 results in a Rh(iii) iPr–C–H activated product, [Rh(κ3,σ-P,O,P-DPEphos-iPr′)(H)][BArF4]. This undergoes H/D exchange with D2 at the iPr groups, reacts with CO or NBD to return Rh(i) products, and reaction with H3B·NMe3/tert-butylethene results in a dehydrogenative borylation to form a complex that shows both a non-classical B–H⋯Rh 3c-2e agostic bond and a C–H⋯Rh anagostic interaction at the same metal centre.

Rh(i) complexes of ortho-substituted DPEphos-R (R = H, Me, OMe, iPr) ligands show anagostic interactions; for R =iPr C–H activation/dehydrogenative borylation forms a product exhibiting both B–H/Rh 3c-2e agostic and C–H/Rh anagostic motifs.  相似文献
