Abstract

A novel spectrophotometric method for the determination of titanium(IV) by using a new reagent, water extract of slippery elm leaf is developed. In 0.05 M hydrochloric acid, titanium(IV) reacts with this reagent to form a yellow product. The formed product shows maximum absorbance at 415 nm with a molar absorptivity value of 0.68×104 l mol–1 cm–1 and the method was linear in the 0.2–6 µg ml?1 concentration range. The detection limit value was found to be 0.0131 µg ml?1. The proposed method was simple, low cost, selective, and sensitive. It was applied to the analytic samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Abstract

A sensitive and selective spectrophotometric flow injection analysis (FIA) method with chlorophosphonazo-mN has been developed for the determination of uranium(VI) in standard ore samples. Most of interfering ions are effectively eliminated by the masking reagent of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA). In the U(VI)-chlorophosphonazo-mN system, the maximum absorption wavelength is at 680 nm and Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 1 to 15 μg ml?1. The correlation coefficient of the calibration curve is 0.9998, the sampling frenquency is 60 h?1, and the detection limit for uranium(VI) is 0.5 μg ml?1. The composition of the U(VI)-chlorophosphonazo-nN complex was established to be 1:2 by flow-through spectrophotometric and conventional molar ratios methods.  相似文献

Abstract

A highly sensitive method to determine of indium is proposed by adsorption stripping differential pulse cathodic voltammetry (AdSDPCV) method. The complex of indium ions with xylenol orange is analyzed based on the adsorption collection onto a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE). After accumulation of the complex at ?0.20 V vs. Ag/AgCl reference electrode, the potential is scanned in a negative direction from ?0.40 to ?0.75 V with the differential pulse method. Then, the reduction peak current of In(III)–XO complex is measured. The influence of chemical and instrumental variables was studied by factorial design analysis. Under optimum conditions and accumulation time of 60 s, linear dynamic range was 0.1–10 ng/ml (8.7 × 10?10 to 8.7 × 10?8 M) with a limit of detection of 0.03 ng/ml (2.6 × 10?10 M); at accumulation time of 5 min, linear dynamic range was 0.04–10 ng/ml (3.4 × 10?10 to 8.7 × 10?8 M) with a limit of detection of 0.013 ng/ml (1.1 × 10?10 M). The applicability of the method to analysis of real samples was assessed by the determination of indium in water, alloy, and jarosite (zinc ore) samples.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Melatonin forms a 1:1 inclusion complex with methyl-β-cyclodextrin with an association constant of 139 ? 30 M?1 at 20 °C. The effect of several cyclodextrins and derivatives on the fluorescence spectra of melatonin was studied with a great increase of fluorescence signal when methyl-β-cyclodextrin was employed. Optimal conditions of the method were: [methyl-β-cyclodextrin] = 0.01 M and temperature 20 °C; the pH does not affect the luminescence emission. The linear dynamic range (LDR) was 50-3000 ng ml?1 and a limit of detection of 10 ng ml?1 of melatonin was obtained with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 0.77% (at 0.3 μg ml?1 level). This simple method was satisfactorily applied to the determination of melatonin in pharmaceutical preparations and urine.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A highly sensitive azo dye, 2-(5-nitro-2-pyridylazo)-5-[N-n-propyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)amino]phenol (Nitro-PAPS), is used as a colorimetric reagent for the determination of tin(IV) content. Nitro-PAPS reacts with tin(IV) to form a water-soluble complex in 1.0 M acetic acid. Full color development is attained within 5 minutes, and maintains constant absorbance for at least 24 hours. The apparent molar absorptivity is 7.7 x 104 dm3 mol?1 cm?1 at a maximum wavelength of 580 ran. Beer's law is obeyed for tin(IV) in the range of 0-1.2 μg ml?1. The proposed method is successfully applied to the determination of trace amounts of tin in steels.  相似文献

Abstract

A simple and selective spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of trace amounts of arsenic using azure B as a chromogenic reagent. The proposed method is based on the reaction of arsenic(III) with potassium iodate in acid medium to liberate iodine. The liberated iodine bleaches the violet color of azure B and is measured at 644 nm. This decrease in absorbance is directly proportional to the As(III) concentration, and Beer's law is obeyed in the range 0.2–10 µg ml?1 of As(III). The molar absorptivity, Sandell's sensitivity, detection limit, and quantitation limit of the method were found to be 1.12×104 l mol?1cm?1, 6.71×10?3 µg cm?2, 0.02 µg ml?1 and 0.08 µg ml?1, respectively. The optimum reaction conditions and other analytical parameters were evaluated. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of arsenic in various environmental and biological samples.  相似文献

Abstract

The study was directed to the development of generic immunoenzyme assay for sulfonamides. N‐sulfanil‐4‐aminobutyric acid which mimics the common part of sulfonamides was used as immunogenic hapten. The obtained rabbit polyclonal antibodies allowed detection of the N‐sulfanil‐4‐aminobutyric acid in indirect competitive immunoenzyme assay down to 0.03 ng ml?1. The lowest detection limit for the sulfonamides tested, 0.1 ng ml?1, was observed for sulfamethoxypyridazine. Eleven other sulfonamides could be determined at concentrations ranging from 1–37 ng ml?1. Thus, the proposed technique can be used in class‐specific sulfonamides detection in products of animal origin.  相似文献

A method for the determination of nickel(II) by stripping voltammetry is described. The method is based on the adsorptive accumulation of nickel(II) calconcarboxylic acid complex onto a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE), followed by the reduction of the adsorbed complex using differential pulse voltammetry. The optimum operating conditions and parameters were found to be 0.05 M NH3/NH4Cl buffer (pH = 9.5) as the supporting electrolyte, a ligand concentration of 1 × 10?6 M, accumulation potential of ?0.5 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) and accumulation time of 60 s. At the optimized conditions, the peak current is proportional to the concentration of nickel in the range of 1.7 × 10?9 to 4.7 × 10?7 M (0.1–28 ng ml?1) with a detection limit of 0.05 ng ml?1. The relative standard deviation (n = 10) at nickel concentrations of 2, 10 and 15 ng ml?1 varies in the range 0.76 to 2.1%. Possible interferences by metal ions, which are of great significance in real matrices, have been studied. The method was successfully applied to the determination of nickel content in a chocolate sample.  相似文献

Abstract

A simple, sensitive, and direct spectrophotometric method has been developed for the assay of sparfloxacin in bulk and pharmaceutical preparations. The proposed method is based on the formation of ternary complex between an investigated drug, palladium(II) ion and eosin in the presence of methylcellulose as surfactant and acetate buffer of pH 4.2. Spectrophotometrically, under the optimum conditions, the ternary complex showed absorption maximum at 550 nm, with apparent molar absorptivity of 2.69×104 l mol?1 cm?1, Sandell's sensitivity of 0.01458 µg ml?1 and linearity in the concentration range 1.6–16 µg ml?1. The composition of the ternary complex was studied by Job's method of continuous variation and the result indicated that the molar ratio of SPFX: Pd: eosin is 1∶1∶1. The optimum reaction conditions and other analytical parameters are evaluated. The proposed method was successfully applied for the determination of SPFX in its pharmaceutical product with mean percentage recoveries of 99.71%. The observed data has been subjected to statistical analysis, which revealed high accuracy and precision.  相似文献

The objective of this research work was to develop a simple, highly sensitive and precise method for spectrophotometric determination of osmium(IV). O-Methylphenyl thiourea (OMPT) coordinates with osmium(IV) as a 1:1 (osmium(IV)–OMPT) complex in hydrochloric acid media (0.8 mol l?1). The novelty of the investigated method is instant complex formation at room temperature with no need of heating or standing. The complex is stable for more than 8 days. The method is applicable over a wide linearity range (up to 110 µg ml?1). A low reagent concentration is required (2 ml, 0.009 mol l?1 in ethanol). The complex exhibits maximum absorption in the range of wavelength 510–522 nm and 514 nm was selected for further study. The molar absorptivity was 1.864 × 103 l mol?1 cm?1, Sandell’s sensitivity was 0.102 µg of osmium(IV) cm?2. Proposed method was successfully applied for separation and determination of osmium(IV) from binary and ternary synthetic mixtures containing associated metal ions. A scheme for mutual separation of osmium(IV), rhodium(III) and platinum(IV) is developed.  相似文献

Abstract

The method is based on polysilicon dissolution with a water-hydrofluoric-nitric acid etchant mixture followed by matrix volatilization as hexafluorosilicic acid. Losses of arsenic through volatilization are avoided by its oxidation with permanganate. Phosphorus is determined by the molybdenum blue method with direct addition of a mixed reagent to the residue. Spectrophotometric evaluation at 882 nm provides a detection limit of 10 ng P ml?1 with a precision better than 3%. Arsenic is determined by reducing As(V) to electroactive As(III) on addition of sulphite in 2 M hydrochloric acid. Differential-pulse polarography of this solution provides a precision of 2% and a detection limit of 20 ng As ml?1.  相似文献

Isonitroso-4-methyl-2-pentanone (HIMP) is proposed as a new reagent for extraction and photometric determination of Pd(II). The reagent forms a yellow complex with palladium in the pH range 4.0-5.0. The complex extracted into chloroform was measured at 330 nm. The molar absorptivity was found to be 5.37 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1 and Sandell's sensitivity 20 ng cm?2 Beer's law was obeyed over the concentration range 0.1-10.0 μg/ml of palladium. The method is applicable for palladium estimation in Ores and catalysts.  相似文献

Abstract

The separation of water‐soluble vitamins by capillary zone electrophoresis was developed, in which on‐line concentration methods, namely field‐enhanced sample stacking and dynamic pH junction, were utilized to improve the detection sensitivity. The effects of some critical parameters, including pH and concentration of background electrolyte, sample matrix pH and concentration, and injection volume were examined. The effects of field‐enhanced sample stacking and dynamic pH junction on the separation resolution and concentration efficiency were compared. The limits of detection of the vitamins were from 6 to 119 ng ml?1 (2.7×10?8 to 53.4×10?8 M) based on the signal‐to‐noise ratio of 3 and the relative standard deviations of migration time and peak area for each vitamin (1 µg ml?1) were less than 3.5% using the field‐enhanced sample stacking as an on‐line concentration method. The developed method was applied to the analysis of water‐soluble vitamins in corns.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A simple and sensitive kinetic method for the determination of vanadium(V) based on its inhibitory effect on the reduction of thionine by ascorbic acid at pH=5 is described. The reaction rate is monitored spectrophotometrically by measuring the decrease in absorbance of thionine at 598 nm after a fixed time (10 min). The calibration graph is linear in the range of 10 ? 120 ng ml?1 of vanadium(V) and the detection limit is 6 ng ml?1. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for 80 ng ml?1 of V(V) was 0.96% (n=10). The method was successfully applied to the determination of vanadium in a certified reference sample.  相似文献

A new solid phase extraction method for the separation and determination of zirconium using agar as an adsorbent is described. The method is based on the adsorption of zirconium as arsenazo(III) complex on agar in a mini-column, elution with sulfuric acid-acetone mixture and determination by spectrophotometry. The effect of different parameters such as pH, concentration of the reagent, eluting reagent, and volume of the sample, amount of the adsorbent and interfering ions was investigated. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 5?C300 ng ml?1 of zirconium under optimum conditions. The limit of detection based on 3Sb was 1.3 ng ml?1 and the relative standard deviation (R.S.D) for ten replicate measurements of 15 and 200 ng ml?1 of zirconium was 3.7 and 1.8%, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of zirconium in water and soil samples.  相似文献

Abstract

A new spectrophotometric method is described for the determination of thallium in soil by extraction of Tl(III) with a toluene solution of N,N′-diphenylbenzamidine after acidification with 0.2–4.0 M HCl, and reaction of the extract with Crystal violet in the presence of 0.01–0.8 M HCl. The value of molar absorptivity of Tl(III)-X-CV complex (where X = Cl or Br; CV = Crystal violet) in toluene is 7.00 × 104 1 mole?1 cm?1 at the absorption maximum of 610 nm. The detection limit of the method is 20 ng ml?1. The present method is free from interference of almost metal ions commonly associated with Tl. The method has been applied for analysis of the metal to soils.  相似文献

Abstract

A rapid, simple, sensitive, and selective spectrophotometric method is investigated for the determination of traces of vanadium (V) in foodstuffs, alloy steels, and pharmaceutical, water, soil, and urine samples in aqueous DMF medium. The metal ion forms a green colored complex with 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (HMBATSC) in an acidic buffer of pH 6.0. The green colored solution, having an absorbance maximum at 380 nm, is stable for more than 72 hours. Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0.051–2.037 µg ml?1. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity of the method are found as 2.75 × 104 l mol?1 cm?1 and 0.0018 µg cm?2, respectively. The green colored complex has 1:2 [V(V)-HMBATSC] stoichiometry. The stability constant of the complex is determined as 3.267 × 1011 by Job's method. The optimum reaction conditions and other analytical parameters are studied. A sensitive and selective second-order derivative spectrophotometry has also been proposed for the determination of V(V). The interference of various cations and anions are studied. The present method is successfully applied to the determination of vanadium (V) in foodstuffs, alloy steels, and pharmaceutical, water, soil, and urine samples.  相似文献

Abstract

A new heterocyclic bis-azo dye, 2,6-bis(4-sulfo-1-hydroxy-2-naphthylazo)pyridine, sodium salt (PBS), has been prepared and developed as a sensitive and highly selective chromogenic reagent for spectrophotometric determination of copper. The reagent is found to give a 1:2 (M/L) complex at pH 6.0. Beer's law is followed up to 1.8 ppm with an optimal concentration range between 0.2 and 1.4 ppm. Sandell's sensitivity of the color reaction was calculated to be 0.0013 µg cm?2 with molar absorptivity of 4.9 × 104 l·mol?1 cm?1 at 572 nm. The interfering effects of various cations and anions were also studied. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of copper(II) in milk, tea samples, cereals, and legume grains consumed by the Indian vegetarians and in some biological samples. Comparison of the results with those obtained using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer tested the validity of the method.  相似文献
