Dioctylarsinic acid (HDOAA) in chloroform solution has been investigated as a reagent for the extraction of Hg(II), Ag(I), Co(II), and Cd(II). Silver, cobalt and cadmium are not extracted below pH 7. An extraction coefficient of 1.1, constant over the pH range 1–6.5, was observed for Hg(II). With HCl concentrations of 1–8 M the extractability of mercury decreased slowly, reaching Ea0 = 0.05 at 8 M HCl. Silver formed a silver dioctylarsinate precipitate which collected at the interface. The extraction coefficients for Hg(II), Co(II) and Cd(II) increased above pH 7 to values of 20 (pH 9.1), 30 (pH 8.0), and 23 (pH 10), respectively. Reagent- and pH-dependence studies indicated that Co(II) and Cd(II) are extracted as M(DOAA)2 or M(DOAA)Cl through interaction of HDOAA with M(OH)2 or M(OH)+. Mercury was extracted from solutions of pH 1–6.5 as HgCl2 (HDOAA)2.5.  相似文献

The first 2-pyridylethanol (pyet) complexes of manganese(II), iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) saccharinates, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic measurements, UV-Vis, and IR spectroscopic techniques. Crystal and molecular structures of the iron(II) and copper(II) complexes were determined by single crystal X-ray diffractometry. The experimental data showed that all the complexes are mononuclear with a general formula [M(H2O)2(pyet)2](sac)2, where sac is the saccharinate anion. All the metal ions are octahedrally coordinated by two aqua and two pyet ligands. The pyet ligand acts as a bidentate ligand through its amine nitrogen and hydroxyl oxygen atoms forming a six-membered chelate ring, while the sac ions remain outside the coordination sphere. All the complexes are isomorphous with a monoclinic space group P21/n and Z = 2.  相似文献

Two malonato-bridged hexamethylenetetramine coordination polymers, M2(hmt)(H2O)2(mal)2 [hmt?=?hexamethylenetetramine, mal?=?malonate(2-), M?=?Mn (1), Cu (2)] were prepared and structurally characterized. The isostructural complexes are orthorhombic, space group Imm2, with a?=?7.104(1), b?=?15.982(3), c?=?7.702(1)?Å, Z?=?2, D calc?=?1.862?g?cm?3(1) and a?=?6.962(3), b?=?15.500(7), c?=?7.627(3)?Å, Z?=?2, D calc?=?2.047?g?cm?3for 2. The transition metals are octahedrally coordinated by one nitrogen atom of an hmt ligand and five oxygen atoms of a water molecule and three malonate anions. The latter coordinate in chelating/bis-monodentate mode to give 2D layers with a (4,?4) topology, and which are pillared by bridging bidentate hmt ligands to generate an open 3D framework with channels extending in the [001] direction. Over the temperature range 5–300?K, 2 behaves paramagnetically, following the Curie–Weiss law χm(T???θ)?=?4.521(6)?cm3mol?1K with a Weiss constant θ?=??4.8(2)?K.  相似文献

The complexation of manganese(II), cobalt(II) and nikel(II) with bromide ions has been studied in N,N-dimethylacetamide(DMA) by calorimetry and spectrophotometry. The formation of [MBr]+, [MBr2] and [MBr3] (M=Mn, Co, Ni) was revealed in all the metal systems. Interestingly, the complexation is significantly enhanced in DMA over N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). This is unusual because physicochemical properties of DMA and DMF as solvent are similar. Furthermore, extracted electronic spectra of individual complexes of NiII suggested the presence of a geometry equilibrium, [NiBr(DMA)5]+=[NiBr(DMA)4]++ DMA, in DMA. A similar geometry equilibrium is also suggested, [NiBr2(DMA)3]=[NiBr2(DMA)2]+DMA. Such geometry equilibria were not observed in DMF. With regard to cobalt(II), electronic spectra show the presence of the four-coordinated [CoBr(DMA)3]+ complex in DMA, unlike the six-coordinated [CoBr(DMF)5]+ one in DMF. These facts suggest that a specific strong steric interaction operates between coordinating solvent molecules, which plays a key role in the complexation behavior of the divalent transition metal ions in DMA.  相似文献

Abstract

The preferential complexing tendency of different nietal ions towards chelating agents anchored on a polymer has been used for separation of transition metals. the anthranilic acid group was anchored on the polymeric cellulose back-bone by successive coupling with trifunctional reagent cyanuric chloride, in diozane medium, at pH 7 and 9–10, respectively. This polymer bound chelating agent was used to separate copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) in the concentration range 1.0–0.1 mmol/L. the separation of a mixture of two components was quantitative using column chromatography.  相似文献

A new chelating resin, Xylenol Orange coated Amberlite XAD-7, was prepared and used for preconcentration of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Ni(II) and Zn(II) prior to their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The optimum pH values for quantitative sorption of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Fe(III), Ni(II) and Zn(II) are 4.5–5.0, 4.5, 4.0–5.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 5.0–7.0, respectively, and their desorptions by 2 mol L–1 HCl are instantaneous. The sorption capacity of the resin has been found to be 2.0, 2.6, 1.6, 1.6, 2.6 and 1.8 mg g–1 of resin for Cd, Co, Cu, Fe, Ni and Zn, respectively. The tolerance limits of electrolytes, NaCl, NaF, NaI, NaNO3, Na2SO4 and of cations, Mg2+ and Ca2+ in the sorption of the six metal ions are reported. The preconcentration factor was between 50 and 200. The t1/2 values for sorption are found to be 5.3, 2.9, 3.2, 3.3, 2.5 and 2.6 min for the six metals, respectively. The recoveries are between 96.0 and 100.0% for the different metals at preconcentration limits between 10 to 40 ng mL–1. The preconcentration method has been applied to determine the six metal ions in river water samples after destroying the organic matter (if present in very large amount) with concentrated nitric acid (RSD ≤ 8%, except for Cd for which it is upto 12.6%) and cobalt content of vitamin tablets with RSD of ~ 3.0%.  相似文献

An asymmetric bidentate Schiff-base ligand (2-hydroxybenzyl-2-furylmethyl)imine (L–OH) was prepared. Three complexes derived from L–OH were synthesized by treating an ethanolic solution of the appropriate ligand with an equimolar amount of metallic salt. Three complexes, Cu2(L–O?)2Cl2 (1), Ni(L–O?)2 (2) and Co(L–O?)3 (3), have been structurally characterized through elemental analysis, IR, UV spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. Single crystal X-ray diffraction shows metal ions and ligands reacted with different proportions 1?:?1, 1?:?2 and 1?:?3, respectively, so copper(II), nickel(II), and cobalt(III) have different geometries.  相似文献

Summary A new chelating reagent 2-thiophenaldehyde-4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone (TAPT) has been examined for high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) separations of cobalt (II), copper(II) and iron (II) or cobalt (II), nickel (II), iron (II), copper (II) and mercury (II) as metal chelates on a C18, 5μm column (250×4 mm i.d.) The chelates were eluted isocratically with methanol: acetonitrile: water containing sodium acetate and tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBA), and detected at 254 nm. A solvent extraction procedure was developed for simultaneous determination of the metals with detection limits within 0.02–2.5 μ g.mL−1. The method was applied to the determination of copper, cobalt and iron in natural waters.  相似文献

Summary 2,3-Bis(hydroxyimino)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-pyrido[2,3-b]pyrazine (H2L), prepared from 2,3-diaminopyridine and cyanogen-di-N-oxide has been converted into nickel(II), palladium(II), copper(II), cobalt(II), and cobalt(III) complexes (H2L) with a 12 metal:ligand ratio. The ligands coordinate through the two N atoms, as do most vicinal dioximes. [(LH)Cl(H2O)Cd], contains a six-membered chelate ring. [Co(HL)2(L)Cl] has also been prepared using triphenylphosphine, triphenylarsine, thiophene and chloride as axial ligands. The structure of thevic-dioxime and its complexes are proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, i.r.,1H-n.m.r. and uv-visible measurements.  相似文献

Cobalt(II) complexes of N-methyl phenyl, 1-phenylpiperazyl, and morpholinyl dithiocarbamates have been synthesized and characterized by UV–Visible, FTIR, 1H-, 13C-NMR, and mass spectrometry. The spectroscopic data indicated that two ligands coordinated in bidentate chelating to the metal ion to form four-coordinate cobalt(II) complexes (13), which was confirmed by mass analysis (TOF MS ES+) of the complexes with m/z [M]+ = 450.98, 382.94, and 382.94 for 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Single crystal analysis of 2A and 3A show centrosymmetric mononuclear cobalt(III) bonded to three dithiocarbamate ligands forming a distorted octahedral geometry, indicating the cobalt(II) undergoes aerial oxidation to cobalt(III) during recrystallization. In addition, 2A crystallized with one solvated molecule of toluene. The redox behaviors of the complexes were studied by cyclic and square wave voltammetry in dichloromethane; the result revealed a metal centered redox process consisting of a one-electron quasi-reversible process assigned to Co(III)/Co(IV) oxidation and a corresponding Co(IV)/Co(III) reduction. Randles–Sevcik plots (anodic peak current versus the square root of the scan rate (Ip,a versus ν1/2)) for the redox couples revealed diffusion-controlled behavior.  相似文献

The title complex [K{Cu(acen)}3]2[Co(NCS)4]·1/4CH3OH (acen = acetylacetonethylenediamine anion) has been prepared and characterized. Single-crystal x-ray analysis reveals that the complex crystallizes in space group P I with a = 11.442(2), b = 15.098(3), c = 28.500(4) Å, α = 82.77(1), β = 83.58(1), γ = 85.07(1)°. The crystal consists of the complex [K{Cu(acen)}3]+ cations, [Co(NCS)4]2? anions and methanol molecules. Three [Cu(acen)] molecules function as bridging ligands through phenolic O atoms to one K+ to give the tetranuclear [K{Cu(acen)}3]+ cation. Each copper(II) atom in the cation is in a square-planar geometry, being coordinated by two oxygen atoms and two nitrogen atoms from a quadridentate acen ligand. The cobalt(II) atom is coordinated by four nitrogen atoms of thiocyanate ligands, forming a deformed tetrahedral environment. The IR and UV-Vis spectra have also been investigated.  相似文献

Study of the sulphosalicylate complexes of copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II) and uranyl(II) by means of cation-exchange resins. The conditional stability constants of the 1:1 complexes of the sulphosalicylate ions (L3-) with copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II) and uranyl ions have been determined in a sodium perchlorate solution (0.1 M) and at various pH values by a cation-exchange method based on Schubert's procedure. The limits of application of the method are discussed. The variation with pH of the conditional stability constants can be explained by the existence of the complexes: CuH2L, CuHL, CuL-; NiH2L+, NiHL, NiL-; CoHL, CoL-; UO2H2L+, UO2HL, UO2L-, UO2LOH2-. The stability constants of these complexes are reported. Distribution diagrams of the various complexes of each element with pH and total concentration of sulphosalicylate parameters are given.  相似文献

The extraction-spectrophotometric determination of chromium(III) with 4-(2-pyridylazo)-resorcinol (PAR) is described. PAR(H2R) forms a 1:3 complex with chromium(III) in a boiling acetate buffer solution at pH 5. The complex forms an ion-association compound with tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium ion (TDBA+):Cr(R)(HR)2--TDBA+ which can be extracted into chloroform, the molar absorptivity being 4.7 ·104 at 540 nm. If EDTA is added as a masking agent after the Cr(HR)3 has been formed, only iron, cobalt and nickel interfere seriously, and the method can be made specific for chromium by a preliminary extraction of these metals with cupferron. The sensitivity of the method is seven times higher than that of the diphenylcarbazide method.  相似文献

The synthesis of some new transition metal complexes with 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-dithiol derivatives (L1 and L2) as new ligands is reported. Each complex was prepared by the reaction of the ligands with the appropriate metal salts (CrCl3, MnCl2·4H2O, FeCl3, CoCl2·6H2O, NiCl2·6H2O, CuCl2·2H2O, RuCl3, RhCl3 and PdCl2). Elemental micro analysis (C.H.N.), UV–Visible spectroscopy, 1H NMR, infrared (IR) spectroscopy, atomic absorption, magnetic susceptibility, continuous variation method and molar conductance techniques were used to characterize the structural formulae of these chelate complexes.  相似文献

The linear trinuclear cobalt(II) complex [Co3(pytrz)6(H2O)6](NO3)6 (1) with pytrz = 4-(2-pyridine)-1,2,4-triazole has been prepared and characterized. It crystallizes in the rhombohedral R-3 space group with Z = 3, a = 13.955(2), b = 13.955(2), c = 28.942(9) Å, γ = 120°, V = 4881.2(18) Å3. The structure of 1 comprises the cation [Co3(pytrz)6(H2O)6]6+, in which linear trinuclear Co(II) units are bridged by six L ligands and have six aqua molecules as terminal ligands. The six free nitrates link the terminal aqua ligands through N–H ··· O hydrogen bonds with C3 symmetry. 1 was characterized by FT-IR, electronic spectra and magnetic measurements. The variable-temperature magnetic measurements reveal weak anti-ferromagnetic interactions in 1.  相似文献

Solvent extraction of65zinc,60cobalt and152+154europium from aqueous buffers into benzene containing 4-thiobenzoyl-2,4-dihydro-5-methyl-2-phenyl-3H-pyrazol-3-one (SBMPP) has been investigated in detail (μ=0.1, T=26±1°C). The species extracted and the values of log Kex, where Kex refers to the extraction equilibrium, are ZnL2 (−2.68) CoL2(−3.08) and EuL3(−7.08), where L is the anion of the ligand. The sulfur analog appears to be more effective than the parent ligand 4-benzoyl-2,4-dihydro-5-methyl-2-phenyl-3H-pyrazol-3-one in the extraction of zinc(II) and cobalt(II), whereas the reverse is true with europium(III).  相似文献

New complexes, [Fe(L)Cl], [Ni(L)], and [Zn(L)C2H5OH] (1–3), were synthesized by template reaction of 2-hydroxy-acetophenone-S-methyl-thiosemicarbazone with 2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic measurements, FT-IR, 1H NMR, UV–visible, and ESI–MS spectra. In these complexes, the ligand is coordinated to the metal ion as dinegatively charged tetradentate chelating agents via the N2O2 donor set. The iron(III) and zinc(II) complexes exhibit square pyramidal geometry whereas the nickel(II) complex has a square planar geometry. The crystal structure of 1, determined by X-ray diffraction method, indicates that 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with Z = 4. Thermal decompositions of the compounds have been investigated using TGA in air.  相似文献

The non-symmetrical cobalt (III) complex cis-[Co(Ad)(en)2Cl]Cl (1Cl), possessing two flexible ethylendiaminate chelate rings (en) and monodentate N(9)-bound adeninate (Ad-) was chosen as the guest of p-sulfonatothiacalix[4]arene (STCA) to study the inclusion complex formation at wide range of pH 2–10. It was shown by 1H, NOE NMR methods and pH-metric procedure, that pH-driven variation of the inclusion mode of 1 + into calixarene cavity is the result of the protonation of 1 + via adeninate moiety.  相似文献
