Abstract

Spectrophotometric procedure is described for the quantitative determination of diphenadione [2-(diphenylacetyl)-1,3-indandione], based on direct spectrophotometric measurements of the absorbances of its iron (III), iron (II) and cobalt (II), metal complexes at 488 nm, 505 nm and (334 nm, 372 nm), respectively. The drug reacts with metals in the ratio of 3:1 and 2:1 for iron (III) and for both iron (II) and cobalt (II) respectively. The obtained complexes have apparent molar absorptivities of 1.48 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1, 0.714 × 103 1 mol?1cm?1 and (1.70 × 103 1 mol?1cm?1, 1.93 × 103 1 mol?1cm?1) for iron (III), iron (II) and cobalt (II) complexes, respectively. The procedure is suggested for the determination of 51–400 μg.ml?1 diphenadione via the iron (II) complex and 35–170 μg.ml?1 diphenadione via both cobalt (II) and iron (III) complexes. The suggested procedure has accuracies of 99.79 ± 0.67%, 99.64 ± 0.37% and (100.09 ± 0.53%, 99.99 ± 0.42%) for the metal complexes of iron (III), iron (II) and cobalt (II), respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

The complex formation reaction between iron(III) and 4-(2-pyridylazo) resorcinol(PAR) in the presence of various water soluble surfactants((N-hexadecylpyridinium chloride (HPC), poly(vinylalcohol)(PVA), sodium dodecylsulfate(SDS), sodium N-lauroylsarcosine(SL)) alone or in combination at weakly acidic media was systematically investigated. An improved and more sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of iron was proposed by zero-order and third-derivative spectrophotometry using the PAR-iron(III)-HPC ternary complex system at about pH 5.2. The calibration curve was rectilinear in the ranges of 0 – 15.0 μg iron(III) in a final 10-ml on the zero-order spectrophotometry. Also, upon the third-derivative spectrophotometry, Beer's law was obeyed in the range of 0 – 8.0 μg iron(III)/10 ml by measuring the distance between the absorbance peak(λ1 = 527 nm) and the valley (λ2 = 560 nm). The apparent molar absorptivity was 4.8 × 104 1 mol?1 cm?1 in zero-order spectrophotometry, and 1.36 × 105 mol?1 cm?1 in third-derivative spectrophotometry. The effect of foreign ions was decreased within ½ – ¼-fold in comparison with the method in the presence of PVA without HPC. Especially, the third-derivative spectrophotometric method was sensitive and selective, and made possible to assay mixed sample solution containing iron(III) and copper(II), etc.  相似文献

Abstract

The color reaction between Xylenol orange (XO), zirconium (IV) and fluoride ions in the presence of various surfactants alone or in combination was studied at various pH. The XO -zirconium)IV)-fluoride ion ternary complex in mixed micellar media containing a low concentration of N-hexadecylpyridinium chloride (HPC) as a cationic surfactant and large amounts of (poly{oxyethylene)dodecyl ether (Brij 35) as a nonionic surfactant at weakly acidic media was found to be the most stable, and showed a remarkable bathochromic shift and clear contrast against a reagent blank. The maximum absorbance was at 600 nm in the mixed micellar media at pH 3.5, and the apparent molar absorptivities at 600 nm were 7.0 × 104 1 mol?1 cm?1 for zirconium(IV) and 1.4 × 104 1 mol?1 cm?1 for fluoride ion. The calibration curves covered the ranges of 0.5 ~ 20.0 μg/10 ml zirconium! IV) and 0 ~ 20.0 μg/10 ml fluoride ion with the Sandell sensitivities being 0.0013 μg/cm2 for zirconium(IV) and 0.0016 μg/cm2 for fluoride ion.  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper the absorption spectra of 4f electron transitions of the systems of neodymium and erbium with 8-hydroxyquino-line-5-sulphonic acid and diethylamine have been studied by normal and third-derivative spectrophotometry. Their molar absorptivities are 80 l.mol?1.cm?1 for neodymium and 65 l.mol?1.cm?1 for erbium. Use of the third-derivative spectra, eliminates the interference by other rare earths and increases the sensitivity for Nd and Er. The derivative molar absorptivities are 390 1.mol?1.cm?1 for Nd and 367 1.mol?1.cm?1 for Er. The calibration graphs were linear up to 11.8 μg/ml of Nd and 12.3 μg/ml of Er, respectively. The relative standard deviations evaluated from eleven independent determinations of 7.2 μg/ml (for Nd) and 8.3 μg/ml (for Er) are 1.3% and 1.4%, respectively. The detection limits (signal to noise ratio = 2) are 0.2 μg/ml for Nd and 0.3 μg/ml for Er. The method has been developed for determining those two elements in mixture of lanthanides by means of the third-derivative spectra and the analytical results obtained are satisfactory.  相似文献

The tetrahydrazide of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (NH2NH)4-EDTA was synthesized from the EDTA ester and hydrazine hydrate in ethanolic solution, the resulting (NH2NH)4-EDTA being recrystallized in 60% ethanol. When the spectrophotometric study of the iron(III) (NH2NH)4-EDTA complex in aqueous solution was made two absorption maxima at 530 and 450 nm at pH 4.5 and 11.0, respectively, were found. Beer's law is obeyed in the range 1.0–20.0 μg Fe(III) ml?1 at 530 nm and pH 4.5 and 0.5–12.0 μg Fe(III) ml?1 at 450 nm and pH 11.0, the molar absorptivities being 1.95 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1 at 530 nm and 3.35 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1 at 450 nm, respectively. The Ringbom optimal interval falls between about 3 and 18 μg Fe(III) ml?1 at 530 nm and about 2–14 μg Fe(III) ml?1 at 450 nm. The reaction between the metal and the ligand was also investigated. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of iron in talcs.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Propofol is coupled with 2, 6-dichloroquinone-4-chlorimide (DCQ) in a reaction buffered at pH 9.6 to give a colored product having an analytically useful maximum at 635 nm. The factors affecting the color generation were optimized and incorporated in the procedure. The reacted propofol has a molar absorptivity of 3.9 × 10?4 L mol?1 cm?1, and Beer's law is obeyed for concentrations 1-5 μg ml?1 with detection limit 0.25 μg ml?1. The method was found applicable to biological fluids (plasma and urine) spiked with propofol at concentration levels 1-5 μg ml?1 for plasma and 1-5 μg 0.5 ml?1 urine (less sensitivity is obtained with urine volumes above 0.5 ml) with detection limits 0.28 μg ml?1 for plasma and 0.4 μg 0.5 ml?1 urine. The average recovery for the commercial preparation (1% w/v propofol emulsion intravenous injection for infusion) was 99.54% with an RSD of 1.05%. The method was validated by an adopted HPLC method. The results obtained by the HPLC method for the commercial preparation were statistically compared with the proposed method and evaluated at the 95% confidence limits.  相似文献

Abstract

A new and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of tetracyclines either in a pure form or in Pharmaceuticals, by a molybdenum blue method. The procedure is based on the observation that, in sulphuric acid medium, tetracyclines reduce ammonium molybdate to molybdenum blue, the absorbance of which is proportional to the amount of antibiotic present. The variables affecting development of the color have been investigated and the conditions optimized. Beer's law is obeyed for up to 20 μg/ml of tetracycline HCl and oxytetracycline HCl, 28 μg/ml of demeclocycline HCl, 18 μg/ml of chlortetracycline HCl, 32 μg/ml of doxycycline HCl and 40 μ/ml of rolitetracycline. Molar absorptivities (1 mol?1 cm?1) and Sandell's sensitivities (μ cm?2 per 0.001 absorbance unit) are, respectively: tetracycline HCl 4.9×104 and 0.0098, oxytetracycline HCl 5.4×104 and 0.0092, demeclocycline HCl 1.6×104 and 0.0313, chlortetracycline HCl 5.5×104 and 0.0094, doxycycline HCl 3.4×104 and 0.0141, rolitetracycline 2.7×104 and 0.0195.  相似文献

Abstract

A simple and rapid method for the spectrophotometric determination of traces of total arsenic present in industrial waste waters is described. It is based on the reaction of As(III) with I? in 5 –6 M HCl, and extraction of the iodo-arsenite complex formed into chloroform with amidines. The molar absorptivity of AsI4 ? with 11 different amidines is in the range (3.9 –7.9) × 103 lmol?1 cm?1 at λmax = 380 –395 nm; the simplest compound, N,N′-diphenylbenzamidine (DPBA) has been chosen for further studies. The limit of detection with DPBA is 0.1 μg As/ml. The method is highly selective with almost no interference from all anions and cations tested.  相似文献

Abstract

A new rapid, selective and sensitive method has been developed for the determination of maneb using pyrocatechol-violet(PV) as chelating reagent in the pH range of 7.5–11.0 in the presence of CTAB producing a complex which shows maximum absorption at 640 nm. Working range of the method is 0.2–3.0 μg ml?1 maneb (manganese ethylenebisdithiocarbamate). The molar absorptivity of the color system is 79600 1 mol?1 cm?1 and Sandell's sensitivity is 0.0033 μg cm?2. The reproducibility of the method has been checked by the 10 replicate analysis of 15 μg of maneb in 10 ml of solution. The method is quite sensitive and has been applied for the determination of maneb in various commercial samples, crops, grains and synthetic samples.  相似文献

Abstract

A simple and inexpensive method for determining chromium (VI) in drinking water by spectrophotometry after preconcentration with sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) coated alumina column is described. Chromium(VI) is reacted with diphenylcarbazide (DPC) and the Cr-DPC complex is quantitatively adsorbed onto a SDS coated alumina column from 800 ml of sample solution. The complex is then eluted with a 8 ml mixture of methanol, acetone and hydrochloric acid and determined by spectrophotometry. Total chromium can be determined after oxidation of chromium (III) to chromium (VI) by KMnO4. The relative standard deviation (10 replicate analyses) at the 10 μg l?1 of chromium (VI) and 10 μg l?1 of total chromium were 3.5% and 3.4% and corresponding limits of detection (based on 3 σ) were 0.040 μg l?1 and 0.033 μg l?1, respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

The composition, stability constant and molar absorption coefficient of the chelate of scandium ion with Semi-Xylenol Orange (SXO) are determined speotrophotometrically in a medium of chloroacetate buffer. In the scandium-Semi-Xylenol Orange system, Sc(SXO) chelate is formed with a logarithmic stability constant of 19.66 and molar absorptivity of 2.4x104 (530 nm) 1 mole?1cm?1.

The precision and accuracy attainable in a direct photometric microtitration of Sc+++ ion with a 0.001M solution of EDTA using SXO as a metallochromic indicator has been studied. Interferences of different anions and cations on scandium determination are also investigated.

Spectrophotometric determination of scandium(III) using SXO at the optimum conditions has been carried out. Beer's law is obeyed for 0–13.49 μg scandium/25 ml.  相似文献

Abstract

A solid chelating compound phenanthrenequinone monoxime PQM) supported on naphthalene provides a rapid and economical means of preconcentration and separation of copper from the aqueous samples. Copper forms a complex with PC:: supported on naphthalene in the column at pH 6.1–8.4 with a flow rate of 1 ml/min. The metal complex and naphthalene are dissolved out from the column with 5 ml of DMF and the absorbance is measured at 470 nm against reacent blank. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 0.6 9.6 μg of copper in 5 ml of DMF. The molar absorptivity and sensitivity are 6.3×104 L mol?1 cm?1 and 0.001 μg cm?2 respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

A selective and sensitive spectrophotometric and atomic absorption spectrophotometric method is developed for the determination of traces of mercury with N-phenylcinnamohydroxamic acid (PCHA) in the environment. Mercury is extracted into a chloroform solution of PCHA at pH 8.5-10.0 and determined by AAS. The mercury hydroxamate binary complex is yellow in colour having a maximum absorbance at 390 nm and molar absorptivity 4.3 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1, sandell sensitivity 0.0466 μg/cm2. The ternary system using 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol has molar absorptivity 8.82 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1 at 550nm, sandell sensitivity 0.0228 μ/cm2. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range of 2.37-38.0 ppm and 0.80-19.5 ppm of mercury for binary and ternary system, respectively. The extraction of Hg-PCHA binary system is studied with a liquid cation exchanger, bis-(2-ethyl hexyl) phosphoric acid (HDEHP) and found to have better selectivity than Hg-PCHA-PAN system. The molar absorptivity of the Hg-PCHA-HDEHP system is 8.82 × 103 1 mol?1 cm?1 at 390 nm and Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range of 0.47-20 ppm of mercury.

The present method is applied to the determination of mercury in eye drops, aurvedic drugs and environmental samples.  相似文献

A new simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of chromium(VI) is established. It relies upon the oxidation of iron(II) with the titled ion, in acidic medium, to form iron(III) which is complexed with tiron to form a stable blue color with maximum absorption at 650 nm. Adherence to Beer's law is observed in the range 10–100 μg of chromium(VI) per 25 ml, with a molar absorptivity of 5.6 × 103 liters mol?1 cm?1, sensitivity index of 0.0093 μg cm?1, relative error of ?5.0 to +0.3%, and relative standard deviation of 0.3–4.0%, depending on the concentration level. Furthermore, the reaction needs neither temperature control nor an extraction step.  相似文献

Complex formation and liquid-liquid extraction were studied in systems containing indium(III), 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol (PAR), tetrazolium salt (TZS), water and chloroform. Two different TZS were used: 2,3,5-triphenyl-2H-tetrazolium chloride (TTC) and 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT). The optimum conditions for extraction of In(III) as a ternary complex, (TT+)[In(PAR)2] or (MTT+)[In(PAR)2], were found: pH, extraction time, concentration of PAR and concentration of TZS. The constants of extraction (Kex), constants of association (β), constants of distribution (KD) and recovery factors (R%) were determined. The apparent molar absorptivities in chloroform were calculated to be ɛ′520=6.6×104 L mol−1 cm−1 and ɛ′515=7.1×104 L mol−1 cm−1 for the systems with TTC (I) and MTT (II), respectively. Beer’s law was obeyed for In(III) concentrations up to 3.4 μg mL−1 in both the cases. The limits of detection (LOD=0.07 μg mL−1 I and LOD=0.12 μg mL−1 II), limits of quantification (LOQ=0.24 μg mL−1 I and LOQ=0.41 μg mL−1 II) and Sandell’s sensitivities (SS) were estimated as well.   相似文献

Abstract

Ruthenium(III) forms a 1:2 complex with allyl thiourea. Conformity to Beer's law was observed for up to 12 pg/ml of ruthenium, in acidic medium.

The molar absorptivity of the complex is 1.66E+04 1 mol?1 cm?1, at 270 nm; the Sandell's sensitivity of the reaction for ruthenium is 0.0061 μg cm?2 per 0.001 absorbance unit.

The tolerance to diverse ions is quite satisfactory.

The infrared spectra of allyl thiourea and of its ruthenium complex, recorded in the 2.5 - 50 μ region, reveal that only sulphur-to-ruthenium bonds are present in the complex.

A comparison with the main, most recent, spectrophotometric reagents for ruthenium is reported. The present method has the advantages of simplicity and reasonable sensitivity.  相似文献

Abstract

Colourless silver-gelatin complex is quantitatively reduced by ascorbic acid to yellow silver sol in water within the pH range 7.5–10.0 at room temperature. The determination of 1–10μg/ml of ascorbic acid is possible at 415 nm in the presence of glycine, alanine, fructose, sucrose, citric, tartaric, oxalic, malic, succinic acids and also in the presence of various reducing agents. The molar absorptivity of ascorbic acid at the δmax is found to be 21500 lit mol?1 cm?1 and the Sandell sensitivity of the sol is 8.18x10?3 μg ascorbic acid cm?2 for 0.001 absorbance. The relative standard deviation is ±0.22% and the confidence limit (20 determinations, 95%) being 8.806±0.0093%.  相似文献

Simple, sensitive, rapid and cost effective extraction spectrophotometric methods are described for the assay of mebeverine hydrochloride (MBH) in bulk samples and pharmaceutical formulations. These two methods (Bromophenol blue and Erichrome Black‐T) are based on the formation of chloroform soluble ion‐pair complexes of MBH with Bromophenol blue (BPB) and with Erichrome Black‐T (EBT), to form yellow and pink colored chromogen in a Glycine‐HCl buffer of pH 2.4 (BPB) and in a KCl‐HCl buffer of pH 1.4 (EBT) with absorbance maximum at 416 nm and at 524 nm for BPB and EBT respectively. The calibration graph is found to linear over 0.2–20 μg/mL (BPB) and 0.2–20 μg/mL (EBT), with molar absorptivity values of 1.8295 × 104 1 moL?1 cm?1 and 1.5896 × 104 1 moL?1 cm?1, respectively. The LOD (Limit of Detection) were found to be 0.090 μg/mL and 0.084 μg/mL and LOQ (Limit of Quantification) were 0.2997 μg/mL and 0.2730 μg/mL for the BPB and EBT method, respectively. The results of analysis for the two methods have been validated statistically and by recovery studies. The results are compared with those obtained with reported method. The proposed methods are simple, sensitive, accurate and suitable for quality control applications.  相似文献
