The performances of Soxhlet extraction, dive-in Soxhlet extraction, microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), accelerated solvent extraction (ASE), fluidized-bed extraction (FBE), and ultrasonic extraction (UE) for the analysis of organochlorine pesticides in animal feed have been investigated. ASE and MAE provided significantly better extraction efficiency than Soxhlet extraction. The concentrations were 126.7 and 114.8%, respectively, of the values obtained by classical Soxhlet extraction, whereas the results from FBE and dive-in Soxhlet were comparable with those from the standard Soxhlet procedure. The reproducibility of FBE was the best, with RSDs ranging from 0.3 to 3.9%. Under the investigated operation conditions UE was not efficient, with the recoveries of target compounds being about 50% less than Soxhlet. Additionally, the performances of Soxhlet, dive-in Soxhlet, MAE, ASE and FBE were validated by determination of the certified reference material BCR-115. The results from the extraction techniques were in good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

This study establishes an analytical method for the determination of eighteen preservatives in water-based adhesives. The method was based on liquid–liquid extraction by methyl tertiary-butyl ether and subsequent determination by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Experimental conditions (instrumental parameters, extraction solvent, extraction mode, dispersant volume, and extraction time) were optimized and validated. When the method was applied to water-based adhesives, the limits of detection and recovery were 2.29–17.59 milligrams per kilogram and 85.7 ? 93.9 percent, respectively, and the repeatability was below 5 percent for all analytes. None of the analytes were found in five cigarette adhesives.  相似文献

The performance of various enhanced extraction techniques, such as accelerated solvent extraction, microwave-assisted extraction, Soxhlet extraction, ultrasonic extraction and fluidized-bed extraction for the determination of polychlorinated organic compounds in dry sediment was investigated in two laboratories. The results of the two laboratories were in good agreement. The extraction yields from the batch extraction methods were lower than those from the dynamic techniques. Accelerated solvent extraction, especially, exhibited higher extraction efficiency than the standard procedure, Soxhlet extraction, whereas the results of fluidized-bed extraction were comparable.  相似文献

Three non-specific methods for the extraction of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) from soil into organic solvent were compared. The techniques used for sample preparation were Soxhlet extraction, closed-vessel microwave-assisted extraction, and CEN shake extraction. The total concentrations of extracted compounds in the boiling point range of C10–C40 were determined by gas chromatography with flame ionization detection. The best recovery (99%) and repeatability (±3%) from standard oil mixtures were obtained with microwave-assisted extraction. However, the different extraction methods exhibited different behaviour when spiked soil samples were extracted. The best repeatability was obtained with CEN shake extraction (±6%) but the repeatability values for Soxhlet and microwave-assisted methods were quite high (>20%). However, the larger uncertainties of the latter extraction methods does not necessarily limit the applicability of these methods to the determination of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil, as in the assessment of soil contamination the expanded uncertainty of the result is usually not limited by analytical uncertainty, but rather by the uncertainty of the primary sampling stage. However, distinctive variation found in the chromatographic profiles illustrates that discretion should be obeyed when chromatograms obtained after application of different extraction methods on petroleum contaminated samples are to be used in the fingerprinting or age dating studies. Otherwise, misleading conclusions concerning the age of spillage could be drawn.  相似文献

A method for magnetic solid-phase extraction was developed for the preconcentration of bisphenol A, bisphenol AF, tetrabromobisphenol A, and 4-tert-octylphenol from food containers and packaging materials. Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide was added to a solution of magnetic nanoparticles to enhance adsorption of the analytes prior to high-performance liquid chromatography. The effects of the amount of surfactant, the amount of magnetic nanoparticles, the pH, the adsorption time, the desorption solution, and the reuse of the extractant were optimized. The linear dynamic ranges were from 0.05 to 25 milligrams per liter. The limits of detection were between 1.21 and 2.48 micrograms per liter, the limits of quantification were from 4.03 to 8.27 micrograms per liter, and the relative standard deviations were between 2.2 and 4.1 percent. This magnetic solid-phase extraction approach was successfully employed for the analysis of plastics with recoveries from 88.0 to 101.1 percent and relative standard deviations between 2.3 and 5.4 percent.  相似文献

The methods of simultaneous extraction of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) from soils using Soxhlet extraction, microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) were established, and the extraction efficiencies using the three methods were systemically compared from procedural blank, limits of detection and quantification, method recovery and reproducibility, method chromatogram and other factors. In addition, soils with different total organic carbon contents were used to test the extraction efficiencies of the three methods. The results showed that the values obtained in this study were comparable with the values reported by other studies. In some respects such as method recovery and reproducibility, there were no significant differences among the three methods for the extraction of PAHs and OCPs. In some respects such as procedural blank and limits of detection and quantification, there were significant differences among the three methods. Overall, ASE had the best extraction efficiency compared to MAE and Soxhlet extraction, and the extraction efficiencies of MAE and Soxhlet extraction were comparable to each other depending on the property such as TOC content of the studied soil. Considering other factors such as solvent consumption and extraction time, ASE and MAE are preferable to Soxhlet extraction.  相似文献

A method to determine 21 organochlorine pesticides in vegetation samples using microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) is described and compared with Soxhlet extraction. Samples were extracted with hexane–acetone (1:1, v/v) and the extracts were cleaned using solid-phase extraction with Florisil and alumine as adsorbents. Pesticides were eluted with hexane–ethyl acetate (80:20, v/v) and determined by gas chromatography and electron-capture detection. Recoveries obtained (75.5–132.7% for Soxhlet extraction and 81.5–108.4% for MAE) show that both methods are suitable for the determination of chlorinated pesticides in vegetation samples. The method using microwave energy was applied to grass samples from parks of A Coruña (N.W. Spain) and to vegetation from the contaminated industrial area of Torneiros (Pontevedra, N.W. Two different extraction methods for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soil are compared: the extraction in combination with ultrasonic treatment, and the Soxhlet extraction method according to DIN-draft 38414 Part 21. Different types of real soil were extracted and analysed by HPLC with diode-array detector and fluorescence detection. The results show that the efficiency of the ultrasonic method is comparable to the Soxhlet method.  相似文献

Dechlorane Plus, dechlorane 602, dechlorane 603 and dechlorane 604 are flame retardants that have been used for a long time as a substitute for mirex, but they have not been noticed as environmental contaminants until recently (2006). Regardless of their large molecular size and very high lipophilicity (log K OW?>?9), Dechlorane Plus and related compounds have been detected in different aquatic and terrestrial species, supporting their bioaccumulation and biomagnification. Moreover, some studies showed different behaviour of the syn-Dechlorane Plus and anti-Dechlorane Plus isomers in the environment and different biomagnification factors in biota. This review describes the different analytical approaches applied to the determination of Dechlorane Plus and related compounds. Moreover, a summary of their levels in aquatic and terrestrial biota, as well as in humans, is presented, showing also current research results on their bioaccumulation and biomagnification potential. Finally, isomer-specific bioaccumulation of Dechlorane Plus is also discussed.  相似文献

The particle morphology and percent grafting were investigated as a function of the crosslink density of the seed latex in two systems of core/shell latexes of polybutadiene/polymethyl methacrylate (PB/PMMA) and styrene–butadiene rubber/polymethyl methacrylate (SBR/PMMA) prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization at 50°C. The thin layer chromatography/flame ionization detection (TLC/FID) technique was used to characterize the grafting efficiency of the core/shell latexes. The percent grafting of the shell polymer was found to decrease with increasing the crosslink density of the core material. The particle morphology and precent grafting were also investigated as a function of composition and structure of the core material in four core/shell latex systems: polybutadiene/styrene–acrylonitrile copolymer (PB/SAN), (styrene-butadiene) random copolymer/styrene acrylonitrile copolymer (S:B/SAN), polystyrene : polybutadiene/styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (PS:PB/SAN) and Kraton/styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer (Kraton/SAN), which were prepared by direct emulsification for the seed followed by emulsion polymerization at 70°C for the shell polymer. Grafting and crosslinking of the core material were found to be competitive reactions depending on the microstructure of the seed latex.  相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes were modified by Fe3O4 nanoparticles with application for the preconcentration of metals. The modified materials were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The Fe3O4 nanoparticle modified multiwalled carbon nanotubes were used as sorbents for the extraction of cadmium and lead from maca prior to analysis by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The amount of nanoparticles, pH, adsorption time, coexisting ions, eluent solution, and reuse of the material were characterized to optimize the recoveries of the analytes. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration curves were linear from 0.05 to 20 milligrams per liter for cadmium and from 0.05 to 25 milligrams per liter for lead. The limits of detection were 0.32 and 0.57 micrograms per liter while the relative standard deviations were 2.1 and 1.9 percent, respectively. The method was employed for the determination of cadmium and lead in maca and recoveries between 94.8 and 105.6 percent were obtained.  相似文献

The extraction and determination of chlorinated biphenyls (CBs) in soils and solid wastes is an ongoing subject of study. This is an overview article that compares the microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) techniques. The extraction of CBs by ASE has been optimised taking into account the variation of pressure, temperature and extraction time by means of experimental design and the Simplex approach. The recoveries obtained under the optimum conditions are compared and discussed with those obtained from MAE and Soxhlet extractions.  相似文献

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) have been successfully functionalized with amino groups. In order to improve the thermal stability of the polymer nanocomposite, aminated-MWCNTs were added to acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (ABS). The influence of MWCNT and phosphorus pentoxide nanostructures on the flame retardancy of the ABS matrix was studied using UL-94 test. The results show that the MWCNT nanostructure can’t enhance the flame retardancy of the ABS matrix but synergism of MWCNT and P2O5 can effectively improve the flame retardancy of the nanocomposite.  相似文献

A rapid and efficient sample preparation method, which is called microwave-assisted microsolid phase extraction, was developed for the determination of endocrine disrupting chemicals in atmospheric particulate matter. The endocrine disrupting chemicals included bisphenol A, diethyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, and di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate. The endocrine disrupting chemicals were isolated by microwave-assisted extraction following adsorption by copper(II) isonicotinate using microsolid phase extraction. The endocrine disrupting chemicals were subsequently determined by high performance liquid chromatography with an ultraviolet detector. The extraction was optimized for temperature, time, desorption time, and desorption solvent. Limits of detection (in the range of 2.0–8.5 nanograms per liter), limits of quantification (in the range of 6.6–28.0 nanograms per liter), and repeatability of the procedure (less than 10 percent) were established. Diethyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, and di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate were determined at values from 0.57 to 68.8 nanograms per cubic meter in atmospheric particulate matter collected from an urban area, a business center, and an industrial site in Dongguan, China. The concentration of bisphenol A was below the detection limit in these samples.  相似文献

Contrary to its lower brominated congeners, the flame retardant decabromodiphenylether (DecaBDE) is not banned by the decision 2005/717/EG of the European Union. But the question of the bioavailability and bioaccumulation of this second most used flame retardant worldwide becomes subject of more intense research. In the present study, we developed a microwave-assisted method for the extraction of DecaBDE from polymers. Owing to its main use in electrical and electronic appliances and according to the fire safety standard UL94 V-0, the extraction procedure was carried out for the model compounds polyethylene and polystyrene. Special emphasis has been given to an accurate optimization by an experimental response surface design. Quantification was performed by means of HPLC-DAD. In order to achieve comparable data, extraction was also performed with classic Soxhlet extraction. To compare these results with an independent technique, microwave-induced oxygen combustion and ion chromatography complete this study.  相似文献

Extraction methods using stirring extraction, Soxhlet extraction, ultrasonic extraction and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) were evaluated for the percentage extraction of camptothecin (CPT) and 9-methoxycamptothecin (9-Me-CPT) from Nothapodytes foetida. The extracts were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Methanol (90%, v/v) extracted high percentage extraction of CPT and 9-Me-CPT compared to ethanol (90%, v/v). The results shows that the percentage extraction of CPT and 9-Me-CPT from N. foetida by MAE was more efficient in short time followed by Soxhlet extraction, ultrasonic and stirring extraction methods. Maximum percentage extraction of CPT (2.67%, w/w) was obtained by MAE technique. MAE has need of 3 min, whereas ultrasonic extraction, Soxhlet extraction and stirring extraction techniques require 30, 120 and 30 min, respectively to leach higher percentage extraction of CPT and 9-Me-CPT. The times taken by the microwave extraction process was 40 times less than the Soxhlet extraction for percentage extraction of alkaloids. The present results show that the extraction efficiency and considerable saving of time by MAE was more competent than the other extraction techniques.  相似文献

A fast method for the determination of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) in styrenic polymers using microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) and liquid chromatography with UV detection (HPLC-UV) was developed. Different extraction parameters (extraction temperature and time, type of solvent, particle size) were first optimised for standard high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) samples containing known amounts of tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) and decabromodiphenyl ether (Deca-BDE). Complete extraction of TBBPA was achieved using a combination of polar/non-polar solvent system (isopropanol/n-hexane) and high extraction temperatures (130 °C). Lower extraction yields were, however, obtained for Deca-BDE, due to its high molecular weight and its non-polar nature. The developed method was successfully applied to the screening of BFRs in standard plastic samples from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE); TBBPA could be fully recovered, and Deca-BDE could be identified, together with minor order polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) congeners.  相似文献

An efficient and fast microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) method followed by gas chromatographic separation with mass spectrometric detection (GC–MS) was developed for the extraction of 18 organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) from sediment. Parameters affecting the MAE procedure such as the type and volume of the extraction solvent, irradiation power, temperature and irradiation time were successfully optimised. Under the optimal conditions, extraction efficiencies in the range of 73.4–119% were obtained with THF–HEX (9:1, v/v) for all OCPs studied. The method was linear over the range of 2.9–5000 ng g?1 with determination coefficients (r2) higher than 0.992 for all analytes. The limits of detection, LODs (S/N = 3), obtained varied from 1.0 to 2.2 ng g?1 and limits of quantification, LOQs (S/N = 10) were between 2.9 and 6.8 ng g?1. The proposed method was successfully applied to the analysis of real sediment samples and acceptable recoveries from 70.1 to 124% with RSDs ≤14.8% were obtained. 10 OCPs were determined below their LOQ and 8 OCPs in the range of 124–2830 ng g?1. The MAE method was compared with Soxhlet, shake flask and ultrasonic solvent extraction techniques. Thus, the MAE–GC–MS method could efficiently be used for selective extraction and quantification of the target analytes from the complex sediment matrices.  相似文献
