Abstract

The use of 1,5-bis(di-2-pyridylmethylene) thiocarbono-hydrazide as a reagent for the extraction of Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Fe(II), Cd(II) and Cu(II) into methyl isobutyl ketone has been studied, and a method for the determination of nickel at ultra-trace (ng/ml) level has been developed, by using electrothermal-atomization (graphite furnace) atomic absorption spectrometry involving a prior extraction with the cited extracting reagent. The chief advantage of the proposed method lies in its maximum allowed aqueous-to-organic phase volume ratio of 15. It has been successfully applied to the determination of nickel substrates in various biological samples.  相似文献

A selective and sensitive stripping voltammetric method for the determination of trace amounts of copper(II) with a recently synthesized naphthol-derivative Schiff's base (2,2'-[1,2-ethanediylbis(nitriloethylidyne)]bis(1-naphthalene)) is presented. The method is based on adsorptive accumulation of the resulting copper-Schiff's base complex on a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by the stripping voltammetric measurement at the reduction current of adsorbed complex at -0.15 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). The optimal conditions for the stripping analysis of copper include pH 5.5 to 6.5, 8 microM Schiff's base and an accumulation potential of -0.05 V (vs. Ag/AgCI). The peak current is linearly proportional to the copper concentration over a range 2.3-50.8 ng ml(-1) with a limit of detection of 1.9 ng ml(-1). The accumulation time and RSD are 90 s and (3.2-3.5)%, respectively. The method was applied to the determination of copper in some analytical grade salts, tap water, human serum and sheep's liver.  相似文献

Abstract

(Acetylacetone)‐2‐thiol‐phenyleneimine (H2L) immobilized on an anion‐exchange resin (Dowex) was used for separation and removal of mercury from natural water samples and for preconcentration prior to its determination by cold vapor inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy. The metal was eluted from the column using a solution of 10% thiourea in 0.1 M HCl. The modified resin is higly selective with an exchange capacity of 1.60 mmol g?1. Various parameters like pH, column flow rate, and desorbing agents are optimized. The proposed method has a linear calibration range of 15–1000 ng/ml Hg(II), with a relative standard deviation at the 15 ng/ml level of 3.5%. The precision of the method (evaluated as the relative standard deviation obtained after analyzing six series of five replicates) was ±4.2% at the 50 ng/ml level of Hg(II). The method has been used for routine determination of trace levels of mercury species in natural waters. The potential application of modified resin for the removal of mercury(II) from two natural water samples (top water and lake water) spiked with 50 ng/ml of mercury (II) was studied by ICP‐AES, and the results proved that excellent percent extraction of mercury(II) from both natural water samples was obtained by column method using modified resin.  相似文献

A sensitive cathodic stripping voltammetric method is developed for determination of lead(II), with adsorptive collection of complexes with Pyrogallol red (PGR) on to a hanging mercury drop electrode. After accumulation of the complex at −0.80 V vs. Ag/AgCl reference electrode, the potential is scanned in a negative direction from −0.20 to −0.50 V with differential pulse method. Then the reduction peak current for the lead(II)-PGR complex is measured at −0.39 V. The influence of reagent and instrumental variables was completely studied by factorial design analysis. The optimum analytical conditions for the determination of lead(II) were established. Under optimum conditions, lead(II) determined in the range of 0.1-30.0 ng ml−1 with a limit of detection of 0.06 ng ml−1. The method is successfully applied to determination of lead(II) in water sample.  相似文献

A sensitive and selective procedure is presented for the voltammetric determination of copper(II) ion. The procedure involves an adsorptive accumulation of Cu2+-PPKO on a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by a stripping voltammetric measurement of reduction current of adsorbed complex at about -0.30 V (vs. SCE). The optimum conditions for the analysis of copper(II) ion include pH (5.8-7.0), 60 microgM PPKO and an accumulation potential of -0.5 V (vs. SCE). The peak current is proportional to the concentration of copper over the range 0.3-76 ng mL(-1) with a detection limit of 0.01ng mL(-1) with an accumulation time of 60 s. The speciation of different forms of complex between copper(II) ion and PPKO, using the Best (Martell program), followed pH measurement were examined. The method was applied to the determination of copper(II) ion content in real samples successfully.  相似文献

Abstract

The electrochemical behavior of Cu(II) was investigated on three‐dimensional 3‐mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) assembled on gold nanoparticle‐modified glassy carbon (GNP/GC) electrode. The results demonstrated that the MPA monolayer inhibited the charging current while promoted the response of accumulated Cu(II) on GNP/GC electrode. The effects of pH, scan rate, and accumulation time on the voltammetric behavior of Cu(II) on the MPA/GNP/GC electrode were studied. The MPA modified electrode presented a voltammetric response linearly proportional to the Cu(II) concentration from 0.1 µg/l to 100 µg/l, with a detection limit of 3.2 ng/l. Moreover, this electrode was successfully applied to the determination of Cu(II) in tap water.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A technique is presented for the determination of trace amounts of copper(II) by adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry. The procedure is based on adsorptive accumulation of copper(II)-Alizarin Red S (ARS) complex on a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by a stripping voltammetric measurement of the reduction current of the adsorbed complex at -0.16 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). The height of the copper -ARS reduction peak is linearly dependent upon the copper(II) concentration between 0.2-15 and 15-500 ng.ml?1. The detection limit of the technique is 0.05 ng.ml?1 copper(II) for a collection time of 1 minute. The method is free from most interferences. The procedure has been successfully applied to the determination of trace amounts of copper(II) in some analytical grade salts.  相似文献

Abstract

A sensitive fluorometric method is described For selective determination of cytosine in nucleobases. The method is based on chemical derivatization of cytosine by triethylamine/chloroacetonitrile. The effects of solvent, reaction temperature, reaction time and concentration of reagents on the efficiency of the reaction were studied. A good linear relationship between fluorescence intensities and cytosine concentrations in the range of 2.0–800 ng/mt was observed. The detection limit for cytosine is 0.6 ng/ml (S/N=3). The relative standard deviations (7 replicates) for measurements of 50 and 500 ng/ml cytosine were 2.1 and 2.5%, respectively.  相似文献

Abstract

A sensor for the determination of cadmium based on retention of the CdI4 ? complex on a QAE Sephadex resin located in the flow-cell of a conventional photometric detector and on subsequent complex displacement reaction with 4-(2-pyridylazo)-resorcinol is proposed. Formation of the colored chelate and detection take place simultaneously. The method features a determination range between 30 and 500 ng/ml of Cd(II) with relative standard deviations of 1.8% and 3.4% for 200 and 50 ng/ml of Cd(II), respectively. The selectivity involved in the use of the proposed sensor is shown in the study of interference.  相似文献

A novel voltammetric method for the determination of β-d-glucose (GO) is proposed based on the reduction of Cu(II) ion in Cu(II)(NH3)42+–GO complex at lanthanum(III) hydroxide nanowires (LNWs) modified carbon paste electrode (LNWs/CPE). In 0.1 mol L−1 NH3·H2O–NH4Cl (pH 9.8) buffer containing 5.0 × 10−5 mol L−1 Cu(II) ion, the sensitive reduction peak of Cu(II)(NH3)42+–GO complex was observed at −0.17 V (versus, SCE), which was mainly ascribed to both the increase of efficient electrode surface and the selective coordination of La(III) in LNW to GO. The increment of peak current obtained by deducting the reduction peak current of the Cu(II) ion from that of the Cu(II)(NH3)42+–GO complex was rectilinear with GO concentration in the range of 8.0 × 10−7 to 2.0 × 10−5 mol L−1, with a detection limit of 3.5 × 10−7 mol L−1. A 500-fold of sucrose and amylam, 100-fold of ascorbic acid, 120-fold of uric acid as well as gluconic acid did not interfere with 1.0 × 10−5 mol L−1 GO determination.  相似文献

Abstract

Hafnium(IV) reacts with 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol in the pH range 3.3–11.0 to yield a sparingly soluble red-coloured chelate that can be dissolved with Triton X-100. Effect of initial pH of metal ion and order of addition of reagents was studied in detail. The 1:3 complex adheres to Beer's law over the concentration range 0.02–1.12 μg/ml of Hf(IV), has a molar absorptivity 1.33x105 1 mol?1cm?1, Sandell sensitivity 1.3 ng cm?2, formation constant (log K) 11.94 and the method had a relative standard deviation of ± 1.5%. Effect of 60 diverse ions on the determination of hafnium(IV) was studied. This fairly selective method is the most sensitive so far reported for the spectrophotometric determination of hafnium(IV).  相似文献

A selective and sensitive method for simultaneous determination of lead, zinc and copper by adsorptive differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry is presented. The method is based on adsorptive accumulation of the complexes of Pb(II), Zn(II), and Cu(II) ions with dopamine onto hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE), followed by reduction of adsorbed species by differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry. The effect of experimental parameters such as pH, dopamine concentration, accumulation time and potential and scan rate were examined. Under the optimized conditions, linear calibration curves were established for the concentration of Pb, Zn, and Cu in the ranges of 5–150, 5–250, and 1–150 ng/mL, respectively. Detection limits of 0.06, 0.25, and 0.04 ng/mL for Pb, Zn, and Cu were obtained. An application of the proposed method is reported for the determination of these elements in some real samples such as natural waters and alloys.  相似文献

The chromophore, 3-(5-chlor-2-hydroxy-3-sulfophenylazo)-6-(2,4,6-tribromophenylazo)-4,5-dihydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid (CSTDD) was used to complex Cu(II) and Co(II) in aqueous solution at pH 9.43. A binuclear complex of Cu-CSTDD-Co was formed and showed a high selectivity for the determination of Co(II). The spectral correction technique was applied to characterize the complexes. The results showed the formation of complexes of Cu(CSTDD), Co(CSTDD)3 and Cu2(CSTDD)2Co. The quantitative analysis of Co(II) at ng/ml level was carried out by the light-absorption ratio variation approach (LARVA). The results showed that the technique is satisfactory to determine Co(II) at trace level in water samples with a detection limit of 2.3 ng/ml.

Summary Fluorones, derivates of 2,3,7-trihydroxyisoxanthenone-(6), are sensitive reagents for the spectrophotometric determination of many metal ions in aqueous solution. Besides some principal remarks on the synthesis, properties and reactions of fluorones, the application of cyclohexylfluorone for the determination of Cu(II) ion is described in detail. This method is applicable in the concentration range 6–60 ng of Cu/ml. The molar absorptivity is 1910001/Mol · cm and the standard deviation is ±0.2 ng/ml. Bi, Fe(II, III) and Sb have to be separated prior to the determination.

A room-temperature flow injection spectrofluorimetric method is presented for the determination of Zn(II), based on the use of salicylaldehyde thiocarbohydrazone in the presence of Triton X-100 and sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer. Various physical and chemical variables affecting the reaction in the flow system were evaluated. The proposed method is very selective. The calibration graph is linear over the range 10–1000 ng/ml, with a detection limit of 5 ng/ml and a relative standard deviation at the 50 ng/ml level of 1.8 %. The method was successfully applied to the determination of Zn(II) in drinking waters and biological samples.  相似文献

A novel method for the determination of cobalt(II) by stripping voltammetry is described. It involves an adsorptive accumulation of the cobalt(II)-2-aminocyclopentene-1-dithiocarboxylic acid complex on a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by a stripping voltammetric measurement of the catalytic reduction current of the complex at –1.4 V at pH = 9 (vs. Ag/AgCl). The effects of various experimental parameters on the catalytic current were investigated. An accumulation time of 60 s results in a low experimental limit of detection of 0.1 ng/mL of Co(II), and 0.50 to 40.0 ng/mL of cobalt can be determined. The relative standard deviation at 0.50 ng/mL is 2.8%. Possible interferences from co-existing ions were also investigated. A redox reaction of cysteine with iron(III) proceeds slowly in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline (phen). However, this reaction is accelerated in the presence of copper(II) as a catalyst, producing an iron(II)-phen complex (lambda(max)=510 nm). A sensitive spectrophotometric flow-injection method is proposed for the determination of copper(II) based on its catalytic action on this redox reaction. The dynamic range was 0.1-10 ng ml(-1) of copper(II) with a relative standard deviation of 1.0% (n=10) for 1.0 ng ml(-1) of copper(II) at a sampling rate of 30 h(-1). The detection limit (S/N=3) is 0.04 ng ml(-1). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of copper in river water as a certified reference material.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive field detection and spectrophotometric method for determination of copper described herewith is based on the formation of a red coloured species of copper(II) with 1-[pyridyl-(2)-azo]-naphthol-(2) (PAN), TX-100 and N,N'-diphenylbenzamidine (DPBA) at pH range 7.8-9.4. The red coloured Cu(II)-PAN-(TX-100)-DPBA complex in chloroform shows maximum absorbance at 520 nm with molar absorptivity value of 1.14x10(5) l mol(-1) cm(-1). The detection limit of the method is 2 ng ml(-1) organic phase. The system obeys Beer's law up to 0.6 mug Cu(II) ml(-1) in organic solution. Most of the common metal ions generally found associated with copper do not interfere. The repeatability of the method was checked by finding relative standard deviation (RSD) (n=10) value for solutions each containing 0.2 mug ml(-1) of Cu(II) and the RSD value of the method was found to be 1.5%. The validity of the method has been satisfactorily examined for the determination of copper in soil and airborne dust particulate samples.  相似文献

A novel method for the selective determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) in water using 2-nitroso-5-[N-n-propyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)amino]phenol (PSAP) was developed. QAE-Sephadex anion exchanger packed in a flow-through cell was used as a medium not only for both the concentration and the spectrophotometric measurements of the Fe-PSAP complex, but also for reduction of the Fe(III)-PSAP complex. The PSAP complex of Fe(II) or Fe(III) was strongly adsorbed on the anion exchanger in a weakly acidic to weakly basic region, but the Fe(III) complex was readily and completely reduced to the Fe(II) complex only in a neutral to weakly alkaline region in the solid phase. These properties were utilized to determine the Fe(II) and total Fe concentration without the addition of any reducing agent. The detection limits (3σ) were 0.18 ng for Fe(II) and 0.18 ng for total Fe using a 3.2-cm(3) sample solution. The present method is applicable to the determination of dissolved iron species present at μg dm(-3) levels in natural water samples.  相似文献
