A solid membrane electrode selective to chloride ions has been prepared from Fe-Zr mixed hydrous oxide (with iron as a major constituent) with polystyrene as binder. Although the response of the electrode is non-Nernstian it can be utilized to estimate chloride in the concentration range 10(-4)-10(-1)M. The potentials generated across the membrane are reproducible within +/-0.2 mV and the response time is a few seconds. The standard deviation of the potential measurements is 0.4 mV at the 0.1M level. The useful pH range is 4-7 and the electrode can also be used in partially non-aqueous systems. The electrode exhibits fairly good selectivity for chloride.  相似文献

The construction, performance characteristics and application of a new bismuth(III) PVC membrane electrode based on 5-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-4-amino-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol are reported in this paper. The designed sensor exhibited a Nernstian response for Bi3+ ion ranging from 5.0×10-7 mol/L to 1.0×10-2 mol/L with a slope of 19.8 mV/decade. The operational pH range of the sensor is 3.0-6.0. The electrode shows a response time of 6 s and can be used for at least five weeks without any considerable divergence in potentials. It exhibits very good selectivity relative to a wide variety of alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. The proposed electrode could be used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of Bi3+ ions with EDTA and in the determination of Bi3+ content in stomach medicine.  相似文献

A novel ion-selective PVC membrane sensor for Al(III) ions based on 6-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-phenyl-4-(thiophen-2-yl)-3,5-diaza-bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-ene (NTDH) as a new ionophore has been prepared and studied. The electrode exhibit a good response for aluminum ion over concentration range of 1.0x10(-6) to 1.0x10(-1) mol L(-1) with a Nernstian slope of 19.6+/-0.4 mV per decade and low detection limit of 6.3x10(-7) mol L(-1). The best performance was obtained with membrane composition 30% poly(vinyl chloride), 62% acetophenone, 5% oleic acid, 3% ionophore and 2 ml tetrahydrofuran. NTDH-based electrode was suitable for aqueous solutions of pH 3. It has relatively fast response time (approximately 10 s) and can be used at least for 3 months without any considerable divergence in potentials. The proposed membrane electrode revealed good selectivity for Al(III) ions over a wide variety of other cations. The standard electrode potentials were determined at different temperatures and used to calculate the isothermal coefficient of the electrode. The formation constant and stoichiometry ratio of ionophore-Al(III) complex were calculated at 25 degrees C by using segmented sandwich membrane method. It was used in non-aqueous solvents and also as indicator electrode in potentiometric determination of Al(III) ions in some real samples.  相似文献

Abstract

Solid membranes of copper hexacyanoferrate (III) in Areldite are evaluated as thallium (I) sensitive electrode. The membrane electrode gave a linear near Normstian response to thallium (I) ions in the concentration range 10?1 - 5 × 10?4 M and can be used to estimate T1 (I) down to 10?4 M. The responses of the electrode is fast and steady potentials are obtained in less than a minute. The same membrane has been used over a period of six months without any appreciable drift in potential. The electrode can also be used satisfactory in partially non-aqueous media and in presence of a number of interfering ions. It is superior to the existing T1(I) solid membrane electrodes as it can function in alkaline range also.  相似文献

A new PVC membrane mercury(II) ion electrode based on N,N-dimethylformamide-salicylacylhydrazone (DMFAS) as an ionophore is described, which shows excellent potentiometric response characteristics and displays a linear log[Hg(2+)] versus EMF response over a wide concentration range between 6.2 x 10(-7) and 8.0 x 10(-2) M with a Nerstian slope of 29.6 mV per decade and a detection limit of 5.0 x 10(-7) M. The response time for the electrode is less than 30 s and the electrode can be used for more than 2 months with less than a 2 mV observed divergence in a potentials. The proposed electrode exhibits very good selectivity for mercury(II) ions over many cations in a wide pH range (pH 1 - 4). The electrode was also applied to the determination of a mercury(II) ion in vegetables and in Azolla filiculoides.  相似文献

The complexation of five recently synthesized hydroxy-thioxanthone derivatives with Al3+ ion was studied in a methanol solution spectrophotometrically, and the stepwise formation constants of the resulting 1:1 and 2:1 (ligand-to-metal) complexes were evaluated. The suitability of the thioxanthone derivatives as neutral ionophores for the preparation of a new Al3+ ion-selective PVC-membrane electrode was investigated, and 1-hydroxy-3-methyl-thiocanthone was selected as the best compound for this purpose. The prepared electrode exhibits a Nernstian response for Al3+ ions over a wide concentration range (2.0 x 10(-2) to 2.0 x 10(-6) M), with a limit of detection of 1.0 x 10(-6) M. It has a very fast response time of about 5 s and can be used for at least 3 months without any considerable divergence in the potentials. The proposed membrane sensor revealed very good selectivities for Al3+ over a wide variety of other metal ions, and could be used at a working pH range of 3.4 - 5.0. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of aluminum ions with EDTA, and in the determination of Al3+ in different real samples.  相似文献

A novel triiodide ion-selective electrode based on a clotrimazole-triiodide ion pair as a membrane carrier was prepared. It has a linear response to triiodide from 8 x 10(-6) to 5 x 10(-3) M with a slope of -68.9 mV per decade and a detection limit of 5 x 10(-6) M. The electrode response is independent of the pH of the solution in the pH range 2-9. It has a very short response time and can be used for at least 3 months without any considerable divergence in the potentials. The proposed sensor revealed very good selectivities for I3- over a variety of other anions. It was used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of triiodide ions and in an indirect potentiometric determination of clotrimazole in pharmaceutical preparations.  相似文献

A new PVC membrane ion selective electrode which is highly selective towards Ni(II) ions was constructed using a Schiff base containing a binaphthyl moiety as the ionophore. The sensor exhibited a good Nernstian response for nickel ions over the concentration range 1.0x10(-1)-5.0x10(-6) M with a lower limit of detection of 1.3x10(-6) M. It has a fast response time and can be used for a period of 4 months with a good reproducibility. The sensor is suitable for use in aqueous solutions in a wide pH range of 3.6-7.4 and works satisfactorily in the presence of 25% (v/v) methanol or ethanol. The sensor shows high selectivity to nickel ions over a wide variety of cations. It has been successfully used as an indicator electrode in the potentiometric titration of nickel ions against EDTA and also for the direct determination of nickel content in real samples: effluent samples, chocolates and hydrogenated oils.  相似文献

A new polyvinylchloride membrane sensor for Cd(2+) ions based on tetrathia-12-crown-4 as an ionophore was prepared. The sensor exhibits a Nernstian response for cadmium ions over a wide concentration range (4.0 x 10(-7) to 1.0 x 10(-1) M) with a slope of 29+/-1 mV decade(-1). The limit of detection is 1.0 x 10(-7) M (0.01 ppm). It has a fast response time of <10 s and can be used for at least 6 weeks without any divergence in potential. The electrode can be used in the pH range from 2.5 to 8.5. The proposed sensor shows fairly good discriminating ability towards Cd(2+) ion in comparison with some alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. It was successfully applied for the direct determination of Cd(2+) in solution and, as an indicator electrode, in potentiometric titration of cadmium ions.  相似文献

A PVC membrane vanadyl (VO2+) ion-selective electrode was constructed using 1,8-diaminonaphthalen (DAN) as a neutral carrier. The electrode shows good Nernstian response for VO2+ ions over a wide concentration range (1.0×10−1-1.0×10−5 M). The optimum composition of the membrane was 55 wt.% poly(vinylchloride), 35 wt.% 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether (NPOE), 5 wt.% ionophore, and 5 wt.% potassium tetrakis(p-chlorophenyl)borate (KTpClPB). It has relatively fast response time and can be used at least for 5 weeks without any considerable divergence in potentials. The response time of the sensor is about 10 s and the membrane can be used for more than 3 months without any observed divergence in potentials. The proposed sensor exhibits very good selectivity for Zn2+ over many cations and can be used in a wide pH range (2-9). The proposed membrane electrode shows Nernstian behavior with a slope of −56.8 mV/decade, a fast response time 10 s and a lifetime at least 3 months. A chelating ion-exchange resin (1-hydroxy-2-naphthaldoxime-formaldehyde polymer) containing nitrogen and oxygen donor atoms was prepared and characterized. The resin behaves as a selective chelating ion exchanger for some metal ions. The poly(vinyl chloride)-based membrane electrode of the resin shows a Nernstian response for Ni(2+) over a wide concentration range (2.94 x 10(3)-5.87 x 10(3) mg dm(-3)) between pH 3.0 and 7.5. The electrode is found to possess adequate stability and specific selectivity with a response time of 10 s. The sensor can also be used in a partially non-aqueous medium having a 35% (v/v) non-aqueous content.  相似文献

New potentiometric membranesensorsresponsive to Pb(II) have been developed. The membrane sensors are based on three different 9, 10-anthraquinone derivatives. The electrode based on 1, 4-bis (prop-21-enyloxy)-9, 10-anthraquinone exhibits a good Nernstian response for Pb(II) ions over a wide concentration range (2.5×10?6 - 1.0×10?2 M) with a slope of 29.8 mV decade?1. Detection limit is 1.5×10?6 M. The response time of the sensor is 15s and the useful working pH range is 4.7-6.8. The membrane can be used for more than 4 months without any considerable divergence in potentials. The electrodes revealed comparatively good selectivities with respect to alkali, alkaline earth and some transition and heavy metal ions. It was used as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titration of lead ions (with sulfate and oxalate ions), and for the determination of lead in waste waters.  相似文献

A liquid membrane electrode prepared with moclobemide-dipicrylamine ion-pair complex, dissolved in nitrobenzene as solvent, was studied for analytical performance. The linear response covers the range 10(-3)-10(-6) M moclobemide solution, with a slope of 50.7 mV decade(-1) (pH range 3.5-8). The detection limit is 3 x 10(-7) M. The electrode shows stability, good reproducibility and fast response. The selectivity of the electrode is good. There are two important interfering ions: mianserin and thiamine (Vitamin B(1)). The compression excipients (such as Mg(2+), starch, talcum powder) do not interfere. These characteristics of the electrode enabled it to be used for the determination of moclobemide in drugs and as an active substance, via indirect and direct potentiometric methods. Via an indirect potentiometric method moclobemide, as an active substance, can be determined with an average recovery of 99.96% and a relative standard deviation of 0.85%, and this method can also be used for its determination in drugs with a relative standard deviation of < 2%. The electrode is useful for the determination of the dissolution rate of moclobemide tablets. The physical processes are numerically simulated by typical equations. The apparent first-order rate constants for disintegration and dissolution were calculated.  相似文献
