The response characteristics of this sensor have been improved in comparison with similer sensors based on internal electrolyte in aqueous media, reported in literature. Preliminary results on the response characteristics of the new sensor are reported.     

Fluorimetric behavior of monothiosemicarbazones

The fluorimetric characteristics of six thiosemicarbazones are described for the first time and the fluorimetric reactions with 30 inorganic ions are reported.

1,2- And 1,3-cyclohexanedione bis(2-hydroxybenzoylhydrazone)s as analytical reagents

The synthesis, characteristics and analytical properties of 1,2- and 1,3-cyclohexanedione bis(2-hydroxybenzoylhydrazone)s are described. Spectral characteristics, pK values, hydrolysis resistance, reactions with common cations and their potential use in kinetic analysis are reported.     

“Oxidative Deoximation with Bentonite-Supported Silver Carbonate”

An oxidative deblocking procedure of ketoximes using bentonitic clay supported silver carbonate, is proposed. Reaction yields are competitive with those methods previously reported, easy of set-up and work-up was encountered, some important characteristics of the clay are reported.     

Synthesis and characterization of monodisperse oligofluorenes

An efficient synthesis of 9,9-bis(2-ethylhexyl)fluorene oligomers up to the heptamer is reported, with repetitive Suzuki and Yamamoto coupling reactions employed in the synthesis. The key steps for preparation of the essential intermediates include Pd-catalyzed transformation of aryl bromides to aryl boronic esters (Miyaura reaction) and the application of the much higher reactivity of aryl boronic esters over aryl bromides in the Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction with aryl diazonium salts. Variation of the UV/Vis absorption and photoluminescence characteristics with chain length is reported. Moreover, glass transition and liquid-crystal characteristics of the oligomers are described and compared with those of the polymer.     

Acid-base equilibria of biacetylmonoxime 2-picolyl-imine

The spectral characteristics of biacetylmonoxime 2-picolyl-imine (BMPA) are reported in this paper. The acid-base behavior of BMPA is spectrophotometrically studied.     

Simulation of structure-related mechanical characteristics of disperse systems under dynamic conditions

Results of simulating the structure-related rheological properties of disperse systems under dynamic conditions are reported. Computer-simulation data on the influence of some parameters on the viscosity and structure-related characteristics of dispersions agree with analytical dependences and experimental results. Problems concerning the dynamic equilibrium of dispersions subjected to shear deformation, as well as disturbance of equilibrium, are considered. Results of computer simulating the percolation characteristics of dispersion microstructure under dynamic conditions are reported.     

Salicylaldehyde-1-phthalazinohydrazone as an analytical reagent

The synthesis, characteristics and analytical properties of salicylaldehyde-1-phthalazinohydrazone are described. Spectral characteristics, pK values, the effect of oxidizing and reducing agents, resistance to hydrolysis, and reactions with common cations are reported.     

Analytical properties of 1,3-cyclohexanedione bisthiosemicarbazone monohydrochloride

The synthesis and analytical properties of 1,3-cyclohexanedione bisthiosemicarbazone monohydrochloride are described for the first time. The solubility, spectral characteristics, pK values and reactions with 40 cations and 13 anions are reported.     

Synthesis of 3,3′ -methylenediisoxazoles

The synthesis of new 3,3′-methylenediisoxazoles (III), from 1,3-dichloromalondioxime (IX) and acetylenic compounds is reported. We have studied the transformation of the chloronitroso compound (VII), obtained from malondioxime (V) in ether with gaseous chlorine at ?70°, into IX. It was found that this was possible only by heating a DIYISO solution. The characteristics of the compounds which are described are reported.     

Diphenylglyoxal and dipyridylglyoxal bis(benzoylhydrazone) as analytical reagents

The synthesis, characteristics and analytical properties of diphenylglyoxal and dipyridylglyoxal bis(benzoylhydrazone)s are described. The solubility, spectral characteristics, pK values, effect of oxidizing and reducing agents, hydrolysis resistance, and reactions with common cations are reported.     

Removal of phenols from water with cross-linked starch composites

Synthesis and physicochemical characteristics of a series of cross-linked starches, prepared with the aim of their use as sorbents, are reported. The synthesis is performed using epichlorohydrin in the presence of amination agents.     

Chemical test methods for determining components of liquids

The reported data on determining substances by chemical test methods are summarized. The reagents used; methods of their immobilization on supports; and principles, devices, and methods for determining components are considered. The main analytical characteristics are discussed.     

Room temperature phosphorimetry studies of caffeine and theophylline

Room temperature phosphorimetry (RTP) of a mixture of two methylxanthines is described. The similar spectral characteristics of caffeine and theophylline require use of a separation procedure prior to RTP analysis. A facile and efficient separation method is reported, and the efficiency of the separation, and the RTP characteristics of the methylxanthines are presented.     

Friedel-Crafts Polymers. 2. Friedel-Crafts Polycondensation of 4,4′-Dichloromethyldiphenyl Ether with Benzene,Toluene, and Isomeric Chlorotoluenes

Polymers are prepared by polycondensation of 4,4′-dichloro-methyldiphenyl ether (DDE) with benzene, toluene, and isomeric chlorotoluenes, respectively, in the absence of any solvent at room temperature and in the presence of dioxane. These polymer samples are found to be insoluble and infusible. IR spectral characteristics and thermal characteristics as revealed by TGA are reported. The polymers are shown to have a complicated cross-linked structure.

The synthesis and analytical properties of bipyridylglyoxal bis(4-phenyl-3-thiosemicarbazone) are described. The solubility, spectral characteristics and pK values are reported, as well as the absorptivity and stoichiometric ratio of metal chelates formed.     

The use of gas-liquid-solid chromatography in environmental and trace analysis

Summary The separation of industrial trace products such as bischloromethyl ether and phthalide on particular gas-liquid-solid chromatography columns are shown. Separations of environmental interest are also reported. The column characteristics are discussed to obtain the best separation power.

Heats of immersion relation to water losses of synthetic sodium mordenite

Synthetic sodium mordenite was thermally dehydrated in vacuo at different temperatures. Effects of thermal treatment upon water losses and the heats of immersion using different immersion liquids are reported. The results clearly indicate the existence of more than one mordenite structure based on the physical characteristics, which are controlled according to the pre-treatment conditions.
