A CNDO/2 parametric adaptation including Fischer-Kollmar and Sadlej modifications is made. This method leads to much better agreement between theory and experiment for bonding force constants of diatomic molecules and ethylenic and saturated hydrocarbons. However, these force constants are very sensitive to first and second derivatives of molecular integrals, so it is not possible to obtain a unique parametric formulation for various types of bond.     

A new denudatine type C20-diterpenoid alkaloid from Aconitum sinchiangense W. T. Wang

A new denudatine-type C₂₀-diterpenoid alkaloid, designated as sinchianine (1), together with eight known diterpenoid alkaloids, 12-acetyl-12-epi-napelline (2), 12-epi-napelline (3), neoline (4), talatisamine (5), 14-O-acetylsenbusine A (6) and benzoylaconine (7), songorine (8) and aconitine (9), were isolated from the whole herb of Aconitum sinchiangense W. T. Wang. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analyses (NMR and HR-ESI-MS) and comparison with data reported in the literature.     

Introduction of functionalized C1, C2, and C3 units to imines through the dimethylzinc-air-initiated radical addition

Introduction of functionalized C1, C2, and C3 units to imines was achieved by using the dimethylzinc-air-initiated alpha-alkoxyalkyl radical addition as a key reaction. The addition to a C[double bond]N double bond chemoselectively occurred in the presence of a C[double bond]O double bond, which is one of the advantages of this radical addition reaction over ionic addition reactions.     

Comment on "Adsorption of naphthalene on zeolite from aqueous solution" by C.F. Chang, C.Y. Chang, K.H. Chen, W.T. Tsai, J.L. Shie, Y.H. Chen

A paper contributes not only by its originality and creativity, but also by its continuity and development toward subsequent research. Referencing and quotation accuracy are an important part of a scientific article. This study presents a literature review concerning the precision of 50 first authors' publications, which originally cited Ho's pseudo-second-order kinetic expression paper in kinetics model for solute sorption on various sorbents. This model applies to a range of solid-liquid systems such as metal ions, dyestuffs, herbicides, oil, and organic substances in aqueous systems onto various sorbents. In addition, citations of Lagergren and Elovich rate equations are also discussed. This comment offers information for citing the original idea of Ho's pseudo-second-order kinetic expression and Lagergren's pseudo-first-order kinetic equation. It is also suggested that the cited paper should be accurately quoted.
