Firstly, the Riemann boundary value problem for a kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R~4 is proposed. Then, with the help of the one-to-one correspondence between the theory of Clifford valued generalized regular functions and that of the degenerate elliptic system's solution, the boundary value problem as stated above is transformed into a boundary value problem related to the generalized regular functions in Clifford analysis. Moreover, the solution of the Riemann boundary value problem for the degenerate elliptic system is explicitly described by using a kind of singular integral operator. Finally, the conditions for the existence of solutions of the oblique derivative problem for another kind of degenerate elliptic system of the first order equations in R~4 are derived.  相似文献

We study the infinitesimal generator of the Poisson semigroup in L p associated with homogeneous, second-order, strongly elliptic systems with constant complex coefficients in the upper-half space, which is proved to be the Dirichlet-to-Normal mapping in this setting. Also, its domain is identified as the linear subspace of the L p -based Sobolev space of order one on the boundary of the upper-half space consisting of functions for which the Regularity problem is solvable. Moreover, for a class of systems containing the Lamé system, as well as all second-order, scalar elliptic operators, with constant complex coefficients, the action of the infinitesimal generator is explicitly described in terms of singular integral operators whose kernels involve first-order derivatives of the canonical fundamental solution of the given system. Furthermore, arbitrary powers of the infinitesimal generator of the said Poisson semigroup are also described in terms of higher order Sobolev spaces and a higher order Regularity problem for the system in question. Finally, we indicate how our techniques may be adapted to treat the case of higher order systems in graph Lipschitz domains.  相似文献

Perturbed Hodge-Dirac operators and their holomorphic functional calculi, as investigated in the papers by Axelsson, Keith and the second author, provided insight into the solution of the Kato square-root problem for elliptic operators in L2 spaces and allowed for an extension of these estimates to other systems with applications to non-smooth boundary value problems. In this paper, we determine conditions under which such operators satisfy conical square function estimates in a range of L p spaces, thus allowing us to apply the theory of Hardy spaces associated with an operator to prove that they have a bounded holomorphic functional calculus in those L p spaces. We also obtain functional calculus results for restrictions to certain subspaces, for a larger range of p. This provides a framework for obtaining L p results on perturbed Hodge Laplacians, generalising known Riesz transform bounds for an elliptic operator L with bounded measurable coefficients, one Sobolev exponent below the Hodge exponent, and L p bounds on the square-root of L by the gradient, two Sobolev exponents below the Hodge exponent. Our proof shows that the heart of the harmonic analysis in L2 extends to L p for all p ∈ (1,∞), while the restrictions in p come from the operator-theoretic part of the L2 proof. In the course of our work, we obtain some results of independent interest about singular integral operators on tent spaces and about the relationship between conical and vertical square functions.  相似文献

We construct a calculus for generalized SG Fourier integral operators, extending known results to a broader class of symbols of SG type. In particular, we do not require that the phase functions are homogeneous. An essential ingredient in the proofs is a general criterion for asymptotic expansions within the Weyl-Hörmander calculus. We also prove the L2(Rd)-boundedness of the generalized SG Fourier integral operators having regular phase functions and amplitudes uniformly bounded on R2d.  相似文献

In our previous papers, we introduced the notion of a generalized solution to the initial-boundary value problem for the wave equation with a boundary function µ(t) such that the integral ∫ 0 T (T ? t)|µ(t)| p dt exists. In this paper we study a free boundary problem modeling the growth of multi-layer tumors. This free boundary problem contains one parabolic equation and one elliptic equation, defined on an unbounded domain in R2 of the form 0 〈 y 〈p(x,t), where p(x,t) is an unknown function. Unlike previous works on this tumor model where unknown functions are assumed to be periodic and only elliptic equations are evolved in the model, in this paper we consider the case where unknown functions are not periodic functions and both elliptic and parabolic equations appear in the model. It turns out that this problem is more difficult to analyze rigorously. We first prove that this problem is locally well-posed in little H61der spaces. Next we investigate asymptotic behavior of the solution. By using the principle of linearized stability, we prove that if the surface tension coefficient y is larger than a threshold value y〉0, then the unique flat equilibrium is asymptotically stable provided that the constant c representing the ratio between the nutrient diffusion time and the tumor-cell doubling time is sufficiently small.  相似文献

Let (M n , g)(n ≥ 3) be an n-dimensional complete Riemannian manifold with harmonic curvature and positive Yamabe constant. Denote by R and R m? the scalar curvature and the trace-free Riemannian curvature tensor of M, respectively. The main result of this paper states that R m? goes to zero uniformly at infinity if for \(p\geq \frac n2\), the L p -norm of R m? is finite. Moreover, If R is positive, then (M n , g) is compact. As applications, we prove that (M n , g) is isometric to a spherical space form if for \(p\geq \frac n2\), R is positive and the L p -norm of R m? is pinched in [0, C 1), where C 1 is an explicit positive constant depending only on n, p, R and the Yamabe constant. We give an isolation theorem of the trace-free Ricci curvature tensor of compact locally conformally flat Riemannian n-manifolds with constant positive scalar curvature, which extends Theorem 1 of Hebey and M. Vaugon (J. Geom. Anal. 6, 531–553, 1996). This result is sharp, and we can precisely characterize the case of equality. In particular, when n = 4, we recover results by Gursky (Indiana Univ. Math. J. 43, 747–774, 1994; Ann. Math. 148, 315–337, 1998).  相似文献

In this article, we deal with a class of degenerate, nonlinear, elliptic fourth-order equations in divergence form with coefficients satisfying a strengthened ellipticity condition and right-hand sides of the class L 1 depending on the unknown function. We conjecture that a Willmore torus having Willmore functional between 2π 2 and 2π 2 \(\sqrt 3 \) is either conformally equivalent to the Clifford torus, or conformally equivalent to the Ejiri torus. Ejiri’s torus in S 5 is the first example of Willmore surface which is not conformally equivalent to any minimal surface in any real space form. Li and Vrancken classified all Willmore surfaces of tensor product in S n by reducing them into elastic curves in S 3, and the Ejiri torus appeared as a special example. In this paper, we first prove that among all Willmore tori of tensor product, the Willmore functional of the Ejiri torus in S 5 attains the minimum 2π 2 \(\sqrt 3 \), which indicates our conjecture holds true for Willmore surfaces of tensor product. Then we show that all Willmore tori of tensor product are unstable when the co-dimension is big enough. We also show that the Ejiri torus is unstable even in S 5. Moreover, similar to Li and Vrancken, we classify all constrained Willmore surfaces of tensor product by reducing them with elastic curves in S 3. All constrained Willmore tori obtained this way are also shown to be unstable when the co-dimension is big enough.  相似文献

We study the growth of the quantity ∫T|R′(z)|dm(z) for rational functions R of degree n which are bounded and univalent in the unit disk and prove that this quantity can grow like n γ , γ > 0, as n → ∞. Some applications of this result to problems of regularity of boundaries of Nevanlinna domains are considered. We also discuss a related result of Dolzhenko, which applies to general (non-univalent) rational functions.  相似文献

Inspired by Arnold’s classification of local Poisson structures [1] in the plane using the hierarchy of singularities of smooth functions, we consider the problem of global classification of Poisson structures on surfaces. Among the wide class of Poisson structures, we consider the class of bm-Poisson structures which can be also visualized using differential forms with singularities as bm-symplectic structures. In this paper we extend the classification scheme in [24] for bm-symplectic surfaces to the equivariant setting. When the compact group is the group of deck-transformations of an orientable covering, this yields the classification of these objects for nonorientable surfaces. The paper also includes recipes to construct bm-symplectic structures on surfaces. The feasibility of such constructions depends on orientability and on the colorability of an associated graph. The desingularization technique in [10] is revisited for surfaces and the compatibility with this classification scheme is analyzed in detail.  相似文献

This paper deals with the L p -consistency of wavelet estimators for a density function based on size-biased random samples. More precisely, we firstly show the L p -consistency of wavelet estimators for independent and identically distributed random vectors in R d . We give some necessary and sufficient conditions for the Cauchy problem to be solvable in the Lebesgue space L 2(D) in D for an arbitrary differential operator A having an injective principal symbol. This paper considers the solution of a deterministic queueing system. In this system, the single server provides service in bulk with a threshold for the acceptance of customers into service. Analytic results are given for the steady-state probabilities of the number of customers in the system and in the queue for random and pre-arrival epochs. The solution of this system is a prerequisite to a four-point approximation to the model GI/G a,b /1. The paper demonstrates that the solution of such a system is not a trivial problem and can produce interesting results. The graphical solution discussed in the literature requires that the traffic intensity be a rational number. The results so generated may be misleading in practice when a control policy is imposed, even when the probability distributions for the interarrival and service times are both deterministic.  相似文献

The real rectangular tensors arise from the strong ellipticity condition problem in solid mechanics and the entanglement problem in quantum physics. In this paper, we first study properties of l k,s -singular values of real rectangular tensors. Then, a necessary and sufficient condition for the positive definiteness of partially symmetric rectangular tensors is given. Furthermore, we show that the weak Perron-Frobenius theorem for nonnegative partially symmetric rectangular tensor keeps valid under some new conditions and we prove a maximum property for the largest l k,s -singular values of nonnegative partially symmetric rectangular tensor. Finally, we prove that the largest l k,s -singular value of nonnegative weakly irreducible partially symmetric rectangular tensor is still geometrically simple.  相似文献
