Global Existence for Some 4-D Quasilinear Wave Equations with Low Regularity

In this paper, we prove the global existence for some 4-D quasilinear wave equations with small, radial data in H~3× H~2. The main idea is to exploit local energy estimates with variable coefficients, together with the trace estimates.     

Lp-Bounded Pseudodifferential Operators and Regularity for Multi-quasi-elliptic Equations

Using a classical result of Marcinkiewicz and Lizorkin about the L^p-continuity for Fourier multipliers, the authors study the action of a class of pseudodifferential operators with weighted smooth symbol on a family of weighted Sobolev spaces. Results about L^p-regularity for multi-quasi-elliptic pseudodifferential operators are also given.     

Semi-Classical Analysis for Hartree Equations in Some Supercritical Cases

We study the semi-classical limit of the Hartree equation, which has focusing at a point. There exists a critical index indicating nonlinear effect around the caustic, and it is known that the influence by the nonlinearity is negligible in subcritical case (called linear caustic case), and that it is not in critical case (nonlinear caustic case). We give the asymptotic behavior beyond caustic in some supercritical cases which give rise to very strong nonlinear effect. Submitted: August 25, 2006. Accepted: December 11, 2006.     

Modified Wave Operators for the Hartree Equation with Data,Image and Convergence in the Same Space,II

We study modified wave operators for the Hartree equation with a long-range potential |x|^-n |x|^{-\nu} , extending the result in [12] to the whole range of the Dollard type 1/2 < n \nu < 1. We construct the modified wave operators in the whole space of (1 + |x|)^-sL² (1 + |x|)^{-s}L^2 . We also have the image, strong continuity and strong asymptotic approximation in the same space. The lower bound $ s > 1 - \nu / 2 $ s > 1 - \nu / 2 of the weight is sharp from the scaling argument. Those maps are homeomorphic onto open subsets, which implies in particular asymptotic completeness for small data.     

Existence for Semilinear Wave Equations with Low Regularity

In this paper, we study how much regularity of initial data is needed to ensure existence of a local solution to the following semilinear wave equations utt-Δu=F(u, Du), u(0, x)=f(x)∈HS,(?)tu(0, x)=g(x)∈HS-1, where F is quadratic in Du with D = ((?)t,(?)x1,…,(?)xn). We proved that the range of s is s≥n 1/2 δ, respectively, withδ>1/4 if n = 2, andδ>0 if n = 3, andδ≥0 if n≥4. Which is consistent with Lindblad's counterexamples [3] for n = 3, and the main ingredient is the use of the Strichartz estimates and the refinement of these.     

波网络系统的适定性和正则性

研究了一波网络系统,在此网络的两个外部节点处施加控制并放置同位观测器,通过选择合适状态空间,将系统方程转化为抽象线性系统的形式.利用能量乘子法验证观测算子是允许的,通过对偶性原理得到控制算子也是允许的.求出传递函数后并验证传递函数在某个右半平面一致有界,从而说明系统是适定的,再求出传递函数在实轴上正方向的无穷远处的极限,找到直接传输算子,进而说明系统的正则性.     

Strichartz Estimates for Wave Equations with Coefficients of Sobolev Regularity

Wave packet techniques provide an effective method for proving Strichartz estimates on solutions to wave equations whose coefficients are not smooth. We use such methods to show that the existing results for C ^{1, 1} and C ^{1, α} coefficients can be improved when the coefficients of the wave operator lie in a Sobolev space of sufficiently high order.     

Regularity of Solutions to Bilinear Stochastic Wave Equations

Abstract

The paper is concerned with strong solutions of bilinear stochastic wave equations in ? ^d , of which the coefficients contain semimartingale white noises with spatial parameters. For the Cauchy problems, the existence and spatial regularity of solutions in Sobolev spaces are proved under appropriate conditions. The dependence of solution regularity on the smoothness of the random coefficients is ascertained. The proofs are based on stochastic energy inequalities, the semigroup method and certain submartingale inequalities. Regularity results are also obtained for the special case of Wiener semimartingales.

Regularity Properties of Perturbed Hille—Yosida Operators and Retarded Differential Equations

In this work we give sufficient conditions on the semigroup (T ₀ (t)) _t\geq0 , generated by the part of a Hille—Yosida operator in the closure of its domain, in order that certain perturbations preserve some regularity properties of (T ₀ (t)) _t\geq0 , like the norm continuity, compactness and differentiability. An application of our abstract results to retarded differential equations is given. May 22, 2000     

Blow-up Surfaces for Nonlinear Wave Equations,I

We introduce a systematic procedure for reducing nonlinear wave equations to characteristic problems of Fuchsian type. This reduction is combined with an existence theorem to produce solutions blowing up on a prescribed hypersurface. This first part develops the procedure on the example □u = exp(u); we find necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution of the form ln(2/?²) + v, where {? = 0} is the blow-up surface, and v is analytic. This gives a natural way of continuing solutions after blow-up.
