Magnetic transitions and magnetotransport properties of polycrystalline Tb1−xGdxMn6Ge6 (x=0.2–1.0) compounds have been investigated by magnetic property and resistivity measurements in an applied magnetic field up to 50 kOe. The cell parameter a,c and cell volume V of compounds (x=0.2–1.0) increase with an increasing Gd content. The compounds (x=0.2–1.0) show a rich variety of magnetic behavior, such as antiferromagnetic, ferrimagnetic and paramagnetic state with increasing temperature. Their Curie temperatures increase almost linearly with an increasing Gd content from 460 K for x=0.2 to 484 K for x=1.0. The compounds (x=0.2–1.0) display the field induced metamagnetic transitions, and the threshold fields first increase and then decrease with an increasing Gd content. The magnetoresistance curves of the Tb0.4Gd0.6Mn6Ge6 compounds in an applied magnetic field up to 50 kOe are presented and the magnetoresistance effects are related to the metamagnetic transitions.  相似文献

The nominal composition of Y0.8Ca0.2Ba2−xLaxCu3Oy (YBLCO) cuprates with x≤0.50 has been synthesized by the standard solid state reaction technique. X-ray diffraction and the resistivity measurements are used to characterize the structure and the superconductivity of YBLCO cuprates. There is no structural phase transition in the whole doping range. The dependencies of the lattice constants and some other structural parameters on the content of La for the samples YBLCO with x≤0.20 are different than those for the samples with x≥0.25. The zero resistance temperature Tc0 increases with the increase of the content of La in YBLCO as x≤0.20, and decreases as x≥0.25. We compared these results with those of Nd-doped Y0.8Ca0.2Ba2−zNdzCu3Oy cuprates. It seems that Tc0 is related to the structural parameters due to Ca and La codoping in YBLCO.  相似文献

The magnetic properties and magnetoresistance effect of Y1-xGdxMn6Sn6 (x=0-1) compounds have been investigated by magnetization and resistivity measurements in the applied field range (0-5 T). Compounds with x=0.4-1 display ferrimagnetic behaviours in the whole magnetic ordering temperature range, while compounds with x=0-0.2 display a field-induced metamagnetic transition, and the threshold fields decrease with increasing Gd content. The compounds with x=0.1-0.2 undergo an antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic transition with increasing temperature. The cell-parameter a and c and cell-volume V of compounds (x=0-1) increase with increasing Gd content. It was found that the saturation magnetization M_s of the compounds (x=0.4-1) decreases, while the ordering points of the compounds (x=0-1)increase with increasing Gd content. A large MR effect was observed in the compound with x=0.2, and the maximum absolute value of MR at 5 K under 3 T is close to 19.3%.  相似文献

Anisotropic magnetic properties of single crystalline RAu2Ge2 (R=La, Ce and Pr) compounds are reported. LaAu2Ge2 exhibits a Pauli-paramagnetic behaviour whereas CeAu2Ge2 and PrAu2Ge2 show an antiferromagnetic ordering with Nèel temperatures TN = 13.5 and 9 K, respectively. The anisotropic magnetic response of Ce and Pr compounds establishes [0 0 1] as the easy axis of magnetization and a sharp spin-flip type metamagnetic transition is observed in the magnetic isotherms with H // [0 0 1]. The transport and magnetotransport behaviour of these compounds, in particular LaAu2Ge2, indicate an anisotropic Fermi surface. The magnetoresistivity of CeAu2Ge2 apparently reveals the presence of a residual Kondo interaction. A crystal electric field analysis of the anisotropic susceptibility in conjunction with the experimentally inferred Schottky heat capacity enables us to propose a crystal electric field level scheme for Ce and Pr compounds. For CeAu2Ge2 our values are in excellent agreement with the previous reports on neutron diffraction. The heat capacity data in LaAu2Ge2 show clearly the existence of Einstein contribution to the heat capacity.  相似文献

Magnetic and electric properties of layered perovskites Nd2−2xSr1+2xMn2O7 (x=0.3, 0.4 and 0.5) are sensitive to the doping content x. The sample with x=0.5 is antiferromagnetic (AFM) and insulating. On decreasing x, the AFM ordering is suppressed and a canted AFM or weak ferromagnetic (FM) ordering appears, and the resistivity decreases. The sample with x=0.4 still shows insulating behavior, but a metal–insulator transition is observed for x=0.3. By suggesting the presence of a competition between AFM super-exchange interaction and FM double-exchange interaction, the doping dependence of magnetic and electric properties can be understood.  相似文献

Gd5(SixGe1−x)4, known for its giant magnetocaloric effect, also exhibits a colossal strain of the order of 10,000 ppm for a single crystal near its coupled first-order magnetic-structural phase transition, which occurs near room temperature for the compositions 0.41≤x≤0.575. Such colossal strain can be utilised for both magnetic sensor and actuator applications. In this study, various measurements have been carried out on strain as a function of magnetic field strength and as a function of temperature on single crystal Gd5Si2Ge2 (x=0.5), and polycrystalline Gd5Si1.95Ge2.05 (x=0.487) and Gd5Si2.09Ge1.91 (x=0.52). Additionally a giant magnetostriction/thermally induced strain of the order of 1800 ppm in polycrystalline Gd5Si2.09Ge1.91 was observed at its first order phase transition on varying temperature using a Peltier cell without the use of bulky equipment such as cryostat or superconducting magnet.  相似文献

In order to elucidate how oxygen content changes in Nd2 − xSrxNiO4 + δ (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4), defect chemical and statistical thermodynamic analyses were carried out. The relationship among δ, P(O2), and T were analyzed by a defect equilibrium model. Since Nd2 − xSrxNiO4 + δ shows metal like band conduction at high temperatures, chemical potential of hole is expressed by the integration of the Fermi-Dirac distribution function and the density of state. The nonstoichiometric variation of oxygen content in Nd2 − xSrxNiO4 + δ can be explained by the defect equilibrium model with a regular solution approximation. Partial molar entropy and partial molar enthalpy of oxygen are calculated from the nonstoichiometric data and Gibbs–Helmholtz equation. The relationship among defect structure, defect equilibrium, and thermodynamic quantities is elucidated by the statistical thermodynamic model. Thermodynamic quantities are calculated by the statistical thermodynamic model with the results of defect chemical analysis and compared with those obtained from experimental results. Thermodynamic quantities calculated by the statistical thermodynamic model can explain rough tendency of those obtained from the δTP(O2) relationship.  相似文献

In continuous magnetic fields H up to 28 T, we have studied the out-of-plane transport properties and tunneling characteristics of high-quality nondoped single crystals of the Bi-cuprate family: Bi2Sr2CuO6+δ (Bi2201), Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ (Bi2212) and Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ (Bi2223) grown by an identical method. For all compounds the out-of-plane magnetotransport ρc(H) is negative in the temperature region where ρc(T) shows in the normal state a semiconducting-like temperature dependence. The negative magnetoresistance of ρc corresponds to the suppression of the semiconducting temperature dependence of ρc(T) which is found to be isotropic. For the Bi2201 compound, where the normal state can be reached in the available magnetic fields (28 T), a nearly complete suppression of the low-temperature upturn in ρc(T) is observed in the highest magnetic fields with a tendency towards a metallic behavior down to the lowest temperatures (0.4 K). Using the break-junction technique, especially for the Bi2212 and Bi2232 compounds, a clear superconducting gap structure can be observed. Both for temperatures above the critical temperature and for magnetic fields above the upper critical field, a pseudogap structure remains present in the tunneling spectra. The applied magnetic fields yield a stronger suppression of the superconducting state compared to that of the normal-state gap structures as manifested in ρc(T) transport and tunneling.  相似文献

Lead-free multi-component ceramics (Bi1−xyNa0.925−xyLi0.075)0.5BaxSryTiO3 have been prepared by an ordinary sintering technique and their structure and electrical properties have been studied. All the ceramics can be well-sintered at 1100 °C. X-ray diffraction patterns shows that Li+, Ba2+ and Sr2+ diffuse into the Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 lattices to form a new solid solution with a pure perovskite structure, and a morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) is formed at 0.04 < x < 0.08. As compared to pure Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 ceramic, the coercive field EC of the ceramics decreases greatly and the remanent polarization Pr of the ceramics increases significantly after the formation of the multi-component solid solution. Due to the MPB, lower EC and higher Pr, the piezoelectricity of the ceramics is greatly improved. For the ceramics with the compositions near the MPB (x = 0.04–0.08 and y = 0.02–0.04), piezoelectric coefficient d33 = 133–193 pC/N and planar electromechanical coupling factor kP = 16.2–32.1%. The depolarization temperature Td reaches a minimum value near the MPB. The temperature dependences of the ferroelectric and dielectric properties suggest that the ceramics may contain both the polar and non-polar regions at temperatures near/above Td.  相似文献

Gd1−xCaxBaSrCu3O7−δ samples (0  x  0.1) were prepared via solid-state reaction. Four-point probes method was used for resistance versus temperature measurements. Results show decrease in Tc by increasing x content. This variation is assumed to be irrelevant to the different phases or impurity effects since X-ray patterns show all samples are tetragonal single-phase. Ca doping decreases the oxygen content and lattice parameters of the samples. It is suggested that Ca prevents the dislocation of oxygen, and then disrupts the hole concentration of the system and antiferromagnetic correlation at CuO2 planes. Subsequently, destroys the superconductivity of the samples.  相似文献

Magnetic phase transitions in rare earth intermetallic compound Nd7Rh3 have been investigated using a single crystal. Measurement results of magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, specific heat, and electrical resistivity reveal that Nd7Rh3 has two magnetic phase transitions at TN=34 K, Tt2=9.1 K and a change of the magnetic feature at Tt1=6.8 K in the absence of an external magnetic field. Antiferromagnetic orderings exist in all the three magnetic states; a large magnetic anisotropy between the c-axis and the c-plane is observed. In the magnetic phase below Tt2, an irreversible field-induced magnetic phase transition takes place in the c-plane; after removing external magnetic field, a coexistence state of ferro- and antiferromagnetic ordering or a ferrimagnetic state having a remanent magnetization MR is stabilized. The MR decays to a certain value for several hours after the first process; a magnetic field cooling effect was also observed in the c-plane below Tt2. In the antiferromagentic state above Tt2, the irreversibility disappears and an ordinary antiferromagnetic state takes place. As the origin of this phenomenon, a kind of martensitic structural transition that is observed in Gd5Ge4 can be considered.  相似文献

The magnetic properties of La2−2x Sr1+2x Mn2O7 polycrystals (x=0.3–0.4) are studied over a broad temperature range 80–600 K. Quasi-two-dimensional manganites have a complex magnetic structure that undergoes several transitions from one type of magnetic ordering to another. A specific feature of these manganites is a hyperbolic dependence of inverse susceptibility in the transition region from the magnetically ordered to paramagnetic state for T>360 K. This suggests the onset of ferrimagnetism. 采用对靶磁控溅射方法在单晶Si(100)基片上制备了反钙钛矿结构的Mn3CuNx薄膜.通过控制制备过程中的反应气体氮气(N2) 流量(N2/Ar+N2), 研究了氮含量对Mn3CuNx薄膜结构及物理性能的影响.分别利用X射线衍射仪、俄歇电子能谱、 原子力显微镜、X射线光电子能谱、物理性能测试系统和超导量子干涉仪, 对所制备薄膜的晶体结构、成分、表面形貌和电、磁输运性质进行了测试.结果表明:制备的薄膜均为反钙钛矿立方结构,且沿 (200) 晶面择优生长.随着氮含量的增大,薄膜表面粗糙度和颗粒度尺寸逐渐增大, 导致电阻率增加.氮含量对薄膜的电输运性质没有影响,所有薄膜电阻率均随着温度的降低逐渐增大, 呈现半导体型导电行为,这与对应的块体材料结果相反.Mn3CuNx薄膜随着测试温度的增大发生了 亚铁磁到顺磁的磁转变,且N含量的增大降低了磁有序转变温度,主要是由于N缺陷对Mn6N八面体结构中 磁交换作用的影响所致.  相似文献

The neutron diffraction and magnetic susceptibility studies have shown that the magnetic structure of UPd2Ge2 changes dramatically even under very low iron doping. Though the general magnetic structure of pure UPd2Ge2 and of 1%Fe-doped samples is the same, the temperature intervals of existence of different magnetic phases are different. The values of transition temperatures, where (i) the ‘square’ modulated longitudinal spin-density wave (LSDW) structure with the propagation vector k=(0; 0; ) starts to transform into the sinusoidal modulated LSDW structure and (ii) the commensurate phase transforms into incommensurate one, shift under the 1%Fe doping to the higher temperatures (from 50 to 65 K and from 80 to 90 K, respectively). In the pure and 1%Fe-doped UPd2Ge2, the magnetic transition from the commensurate to incommensurate phase is accompanied by the drastic decrease of the propagation vector kz. In the 2%Fe-doped sample, besides the Néel point of TN=135 K, we have found two additional characteristic temperatures of 65 and 93 K. Below 65 K, the material has a simple antiferromagnetic (AF) structure with the propagation vector k=(0; 0; 1) and, at 65 K<T<TN, the magnetic structure is LSDW with sinusoidal modulation. Over almost the total region 65 K<T<TN, the LSDW magnetic structure is incommensurate. Only at about 93 K, the propagation vector passes the commensurate value of , whereas at 65<T<93 K and at 93 K<T<TN. We have found that the magnetic susceptibility and the uranium magnetic moment are sensitive to the transition. With increasing iron concentration to x0.15, the simple AF structure with k=(0; 0; 1) develops over all temperature region up to the Néel point. Below TN, the uranium magnetic moments are always parallel to the tetragonal c-axis.  相似文献

We have succeeded in synthesizing a powder form of Gd2Ba4CuFeOy (Gd2411) in air. GdBa2Cu3O7−δ (Gd123)/Gd2BaCuO5 (Gd211) precursor powders added with different amounts of Gd2Ba4CuFeOy (x = 0, 0.002, 0.004, 0.02) in molar ratio to Gd123 have been fabricated successfully into the form of large, single grains by the top seeded melt growth (TSMG) process. The relation between the additions amounts of Gd2411/Gd211 and critical current density (JC) was analyzed. We found Gd2411 particles stably exist in the Gd123 matrix without degradation of superconducting properties owing to the existence of the Fe magnetic ion. The trapped field was observed to increase significantly compared with the bulk without Gd2411 additions.  相似文献

Gd5Si2Ge2-based alloys can exhibit a giant magnetocaloric effect (GMCE); this gives them the potential for use in cooling technologies. It has also been reported that a small addition of iron reduces the hysteresis losses in Gd5Si2Ge2-based alloys, thus increasing the net refrigerating capacity. In this investigation, we have been the first to look at the effect on the microstructure and magnetic properties of Gd5Si2Ge2 resulting from a wide range of substitutions of Si by Fe. The macrostructures of the arc-melted buttons revealed some very unusual surface morphologies, and the analytical results revealed a gradual substitution of the Gd5(Si,Ge,Fe)4-type phase by a Gd5(Si,Ge,Fe)3-type phase and the presence of three grain-boundary phases, two of which contain substantial amounts of iron. The magnetic measurements indicated that larger amounts of iron reduced the hysteresis losses, but at the same time reduced the Curie temperatures to below lower values that would make the material useful in practice.  相似文献

Gd-doped SnO2 nanoparticles were chemically prepared doping 0-12.5% Gd into SnO2 and calcined at 600 °C. X-ray diffraction and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy measurements show the formation of single phase of Sn1−xGdxO2 up to x=0.0625 while at x=0.125, an additional secondary phase of tetragonal GdO2 (not cubic Gd2O3) is detected. The transmission electron microscopy studies show that the individual particles are single crystalline with an average size in the range of 10-12 nm. Magnetization measurements show the absence of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic ordering in all samples; however surface spin effects and enhanced Gd-O-Gd interactions are proposed to account for the observed magnetic properties of the samples.  相似文献
