The condensation of 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde N-oxide and triethylenetetramine yields a product with two imidazolidine rings, as proven by a solid-state X-ray structure analysis as well as by NMR solution spectra. This ligand, L1, undergoes a ring-opening reaction on complex formation with Cu(II), yielding [CuL2]2+ where L2 functions as a pentadentate ligand, containing only one imidazolidine ring. On complexation with Zn(II) and Fe(III), both rings are opened and the complexes [ZnL3]2+ and [FeL3]3+ with a hexadentate L3 ligand are formed. The recrystallization of [ZnL3]2+ from DMSO solution results in the complex [ZnL1(DMSO)2]2+ in which L1 behaves as a tetradentate ligand. Thus L1, L2, and L3 are structural isomers with two, one, or no imidazolidine rings, as confirmed by X-ray structure analyses. The intramolecular ring formation is the result of the nucleophilic addition of the N(amino) group to the electrophilic sp2-hybridized -HC delta+=N site. Owing to the absence of the chelate effect on the sp3-hybridized carbon atom belonging to the imidazolidine ring, the ring opening is facilitated and readily observed upon complex formation with Cu(II), Zn(II), and Fe(III).  相似文献

New metal complexes of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) with salicylidine-2-aminobenzimidazole (SABI) are synthesized and their physicochemical properties are investigated using elemental and thermal analyses, IR, conductometric, solid reflectance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The base reacts with these metal ions to give 1:1 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in cases of Fe(III), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions; and 1:2 (Metal:SABI) complexes; in case of Ni(II) ion. The conductance data reveal that Fe(III) complex is 2:1 electrolyte, Co(II) is 1:2 electrolyte, Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes while Ni(II) is non-electrolyte. IR spectra showed that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate mannar with O, N, N donor sites of the phenloic -OH, azomethine -N and benzimidazole -N3. Magnetic and solid reflectance spectra are used to infer the coordinating capacity of the ligand and the geometrical structure of these complexes. The thermal decomposition of the complexes is studied and indicates that not only the coordinated and/or crystallization water is lost but also that the decomposition of the ligand from the complexes is necessary to interpret the successive mass loss. Different thermodynamic activation parameters are also reported, using Coats-Redfern method. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Abstract

Five coordination complexes with Mn2+ (1), Co2+ (2), Ni2+ (3), Cu2+ (4), and Zn2+ (5) containing acesulfame (ace) and N,N-diethylnicotinamide (dena) ligands were synthesized and structural binding properties investigated. Four compounds (1, 2, 4, and 5) were examined with single crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The structures containing Mn(II), Co(II), and Zn(II) were iso-structural. Six-coordination of metal cations were completed with two moles dena and four aqua ligands. The dena ligands were coordinated via pyridine nitrogen as neutral-monodentate. Charge stabilities of the complexes are complemented by two moles monoanionic ace ligands, located outside of the coordination unit. In the Cu(II) complex, the coordination is completed by acidic nitrogen and carbonyl oxygen atoms of two ace ligands and pyridine nitrogen of two moles dena ligands. The coordination to Cu(II) for ace ligands was monoanionic-bidentate. All metal cations in the structure are distorted octahedral. Thermal decomposition of complexes begins with removal of the aqua molecules from the structures and is completed by combustion of organic ligands. The final decomposition products of all structures have been identified as corresponding metal oxides. Some biological applications (anti-fungal/anti-bacterial) were studied using 15.  相似文献

Novel hexachlorocyclodiphosph(V)azane of sulfaguanidine, H(4)L, l,3-[N'-amidino-sulfanilamide]-2,2,2,4,4,4-hexachlorocyclodiphosph(V)azane was prepared and its coordination behaviour towards the transition metal ions Fe(III), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and UO(2)(II) was studied. The structures of the isolated products are proposed based on elemental analyses, IR, UV-vis, (1)H NMR, mass spectra, reflectance, magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The hyperfine interactions in the isolated complex compounds were studied using 14.4keV gamma-ray from radioactive (57)Co (M?ssbauer spectroscopy). The data show that the ligand are coordinated to the metal ions via the sulfonamide O and deprotonated NH atoms in an octahedral manner. The H(4)L ligand forms complexes of the general formulae [(MX(z))(2)(H(2)L)H(2)O)(n)] and [(FeSO(4))(2) (H(4)L) (H(2)O)(4)], where X=NO(3) in case of UO(2)(II) and Cl in case of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II). The molar conductance data show that the complexes are non-electrolytes. The thermal behaviour of the complexes was studied and different thermodynamic parameters were calculated using Coats-Redfern method. Most of the prepared complexes showed high bactericidal activity and some of the complexes show more activity compared with the ligand and standards.  相似文献

In a search for environment-friendly metal chelating ligands for industrial applications, the protonation and complex formation equilibria of N-bis[2-(1,2-dicarboxyethoxy)ethyl]aspartic acid (BCA6) with Fe(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) ions in aqueous 0.1 M NaCl solution were studied at 25°C by potentiometric titration. The model for complexation and the stability constants of different complexes were determined for each metal ion using SUPERQUAD. In all cases, complex formation was dominated by stable ML4? complexes.  相似文献

Thiosulfinates are an emerging class of oxidized sulfur species that are frequently supposed to be involved in biochemical processes. Reaction of 12- and 10-membered ring pseudopeptidic thiosulfinates 1a (4,4,7,7-tetramethyl-1,3,4,7,8,10-hexahydro-5,6,1,10-benzodithiadiazacyclododecine-2,9-dione 5-oxide) and 1b (3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-1,8-dihydro-4,5,1,8-benzodithiadiazecine-2,7(3H,6H)-dione 4-oxide) with a Ni(II) salt leads after ring cleavage under alkaline conditions to the isolation of diamidato/thiolato/sulfinato complexes. These two thiolato/sulfinato complexes of nickel, which can also be prepared by dioxygen oxidation of the parent diamidato/dithiolato complexes, were characterized by X-ray crystallography. They show a square-planar geometry with a S-bonded sulfinato ligand. A similar reaction between 1b and a Zn(II) salt leads to a thiolato/sulfinato complex with an O-bonded sulfinate via the intermediate formation of a mixed thiolato/sulfinic ester. On the basis of 1H NMR, IR, and mass analyses, the sulfinic ester in the intermediate is proposed to be O-bonded to the zinc center. Then, an in-depth study of the cleavage of these thiosulfinates with the oxyanions RO- and HO- was performed. This led, after trapping of the open species with CH3I, to the identification of three polyfunctionalized products containing a methyl thioether, with either an isothiazolidin-3-one S-oxide, a methyl sulfone, or a methyl sulfinic ester. All of these products arise from a selective nucleophilic attack at the sulfinyl sulfur, promoted either directly by RO- or HO- or by an internal peptidic nitrogen of the thiosulfinate after deprotonation with RO- or HO-.  相似文献

Compounds of the type M3[Fe(CN)6]2XH2O (M = Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II)) were prepared and magnetic properties of their powders were investigated by means of EPR spectra, Mössbauer effect and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The temperature dependence of the magnetization for the complexes Co3[Fe(CN)5]2- 10H2O, Ni3[Fe(CN)6]2-10H2O and Cu3[Fe(CN)6]2-4H2O revealed that below the critical temperatures 15, 22 and 20 K respectively, these complexes have zero-field magnetization. The magnetic hysteresis at 10 K for Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes was observed. Mössbauer spectra at 4.2 K for the compounds are discussed.  相似文献

The adsorption of Pb(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Ni(II), Fe(II) and As(V) onto bacterially produced metal sulfide (BPMS) material was investigated using a batch equilibrium method. It was found that the sulfide material had adsorptive properties comparable with those of other adsorbents with respect to the specific uptake of a range of metals and, the levels to which dissolved metal concentrations in solution can be reduced. The percentage of adsorption increased with increasing pH and adsorbent dose, but decreased with increasing initial dissolved metal concentration. The pH of the solution was the most important parameter controlling adsorption of Cd(II), Cu(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), and As(V) by BPMS. The adsorption data were successfully modeled using the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Desorption experiments showed that the reversibility of adsorption was low, suggesting high-affinity adsorption governed by chemisorption. The mechanism of adsorption for the divalent metals was thought to be the formation of strong, inner-sphere complexes involving surface hydroxyl groups. However, the mechanism for the adsorption of As(V) by BPMS appears to be distinct from that of surface hydroxyl exchange. These results have important implications to the management of metal sulfide sludge produced by bacterial sulfate reduction.  相似文献

An SPE method for selective separation-preconcentration of Cu(ll), Zn(II), Ni(II), and Fe(III) on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) modified by glutaric dihydrazide prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometric determination was investigated. The adsorption was achieved quantitatively on MWCNTs at pH 5.0, and then the retained metal ions on the adsorbent were eluted with 1 M HNO3. The effects of analytical parameters including pH of the solution, eluent type, sample volume, and matrix ions were investigated for optimization of the presented procedure. The adsorption capacity of the adsorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 33.6, 29.2, 22.1, and 36.0 mg/g for Cu(ll), Zn(ll), Ni(ll), and Fe(lll), respectively. The LOD values of the method were 0.21, 0.11, 0.24, and 0.27 microg/L for Cu(ll), Zn(ll), Ni(ll), and Fe(lll), respectively. The RSDs were lower than 3.01%. The method was applied for the determination of analytes in soil, river water, and wastewater samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Nanoparticles of octakis[3-(3-amino-1,2,4-triazole)propyl]octasilsesquioxane (ATZ-SSQ) were tested as ligands for transition-metal ions in aqueous solution with a special attention to sorption isotherms, ligand-metal interaction, and determination of metal ions in natural waters. The adsorption potential of the material ATZ-SSQ was compared with related [3(3-amino-1,2,4-triazole)propyl]silica gel (ATZ-SG). The adsorption was performed using a batchwise process and both organofunctionalized surfaces showed the ability to adsorb the metal ions from aqueous solution. The Langmuir model was used to simulate the sorption isotherms. The results suggest that the sorption of these metals on ATZ-SSQ and ATZ-SG occurs mainly by surface complexation. The equilibrium condition is reached at time lower than 3 min for ATZ-SSQ, while for ATZ-SG is only reached at time of 25 min. The maximum metal ion uptake values for ATZ-SSQ were higher than the corresponding values achieved with the ATZ-SG. In order to obtain more information on the ligand-metal interaction of the complexes on the surface of the ATZ-SSQ nanomaterial, ESR study with various degrees of copper loadings was carried out. The ATZ-SSQ was tested for the determination (in flow using a column technique) of the metal ions present in natural waters.  相似文献

Oxazolone forms (1:1) complexes with Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ chlorides, as well as forms (1:1) complexes with Co2+ and Cu2+ acetates. All the complexes are found to be non-electrolytes in DMF; tetrahedral, square-planar and octahedral structures are assigned to them based on electronic and magnetic data. IR studies reveal that the complexes are formed by donating the lone-pair electron from O and N atoms to the metal ion. The thermal decomposition of the [ML·mnH2O]y·H2O chelates was studied by TG–DTA techniques. The mechanism of the decomposition has been established from TG–DTA data. The kinetic parameters, activation energy (Ea) and pre-exponential factor (A), were calculated from TG curves using Coats and Redfern method. Relative thermal stabilities of the chelates have been evaluated on the basis of these parameters.  相似文献

The ternary piroxicam (Pir; 4-hydroxy-2-methyl-N-(2-pyridyl)-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-3-carboxamide 1,1-dioxide) complexes of Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) with various amino acids (AA) such as glycine (Gly) or DL-phenylalanine (PhA) were prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, IR, UV-Vis, magnetic moment, diffuse reflectance and X-ray powder diffraction. The UV-Vis spectra of Pir and the effect of metal chelation on the different interligand transitions are discussed in detailed manner. IR and UV-Vis spectra confirm that Pir behaves as a neutral bidentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridine-N and carbonyl group of the amide moiety. Gly molecule acted as a uninegatively monodentate ligand and coordinate to the metal ions through its carboxylic group, in addition PhA acted as a uninegatively bidentate ligand and coordinate to the metal ions through its carboxylic and amino groups. All the chelates have octahedral geometrical structures while Cu(II)- and Zn(II)-ternary chelates with PhA have square planar geometrical structures. The molar conductance data reveal that most of these chelates are non electrolytes, while Fe(III)-Pir-Gly, Co(II)-, Ni(II)-, Cu(II)- and Zn(II)-Pir-PhA chelates were 1:1 electrolytes. X-ray powder diffraction is used as a new tool to estimate the crystallinity of chelates as well as to elucidate their geometrical structures.  相似文献

Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and UO(2)(II) complexes with the ligand 2-tert-butylaminomethylpyridine-6-carboxylic acid methylester (HL(2)) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment, thermal analysis and spectral data. 1:1 M:HL(2) complexes, with the general formula [M(HL(2))X(2)].nH(2)O (where M = Co(II) (X = Cl, n = 0), Ni(II) (X = Cl, n = 3), Cu(II) (grey colour, X = AcO, n = 1), Cu(II) (yellow colour, X = Cl, n = 0) and Zn(II) (X = Br, n = 0). In addition, the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes of the type 1:2 M:HL(2) and with the formulae [Fe(L(2))(2)]Cl and [UO(2)(HL(2))(2)](NO(3))(2) are prepared. From the IR data, it is seen that HL(2) ligand behaves as a terdentate ligand coordinated to the metal ions via the pyridyl N, carboxylate O and protonated NH group; except the Fe(III) complex, it coordinates via the deprotonated NH group. This is supported by the molar conductance data, which show that all the complexes are non-electrolytes, while the Fe(III) and UO(2)(II) complexes are 1:1 electrolytes. IR and H1-NMR spectral studies suggest a similar behaviour of the Zn(II) complex in solid and solution states. From the solid reflectance spectral data and magnetic moment measurements, the complexes have a trigonal bipyramidal (Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes) and octahedral (Fe(III), UO(2)(II) complexes) geometrical structures. The thermal behaviour of the complexes is studied and the different dynamic parameters are calculated applying Coats-Redfern equation.  相似文献
