The motion of a satellite, i.e., a rigid body, about to the centre of mass under the action of the gravitational moments of a central Newtonian gravitational field in an elliptical orbit of arbitrary eccentricity is investigated. It is assumed that the satellite is almost dynamically symmetrical. Plane periodic motions for which the ratio of the average value of the absolute angular velocity of the satellite to the average motion of its centre of mass is equal to 3/2 (Mercury-type resonance) are examined. An analytic solution of the non-linear problem of the existence of such motions and their stability to plane perturbations is given. In the special case in which the central ellipsoid of inertia of the satellite is almost spherical, the stability to spatial perturbations is also examined, but only in a linear approximation. ©2008.  相似文献

This paper presents two simple approximation algorithms for the shortest superstring problem with approximation ratios 2 ( ≈ 2.67) and( ≈ 2.596). The framework of our improved algorithms is similar to that of previous algorithms in the sense that they construct a superstring by computing some optimal cycle covers on the distance graph of the given strings and then break and merge the cycles to finally obtain a Hamiltonian path, but we make use of new bounds on the overlap between two strings. We prove that for each periodic semiinfinite string α = a1a2··· of periodq, there exists an integerk, such that forany(finite) stringsof periodpwhich isinequivalentto α, the overlap betweensand therotationα[k] = akak + 1··· is at mostp + q. Moreover, ifpq, then the overlap betweensand α[k] is not larger than (p + q). The bounds are tight. In the previous shortest superstring algorithmsp + qwas used as the standard (tight) bound on overlap between two strings with periodspandq.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider periodic systems of ordinary differential equations with impulse perturbations at fixed points of time. It is assumed that the system possesses the trivial solution. We show that if the trivial solution of the system is stable or asymptotically stable, then it is uniformly stable or uniformly asymptotically stable, respectively. By using the method of Lyapunov functions, we establish criteria of uniform asymptotical stability and instability.  相似文献

We consider the motion of an asymmetric gyrostat under the attraction of a uniform Newtonian field. It is supposed that the center of mass lies along one of the principal axes of inertia, while a rotor spins around a different axis of inertia. For this problem, we obtain the possible permanent rotations, that is, the equilibria of the system. The Lyapunov stability of these permanent rotations is analyzed by means of the Energy–Casimir method and necessary and sufficient conditions are derived, proving that there exist permanent stable rotations when the gyrostat is oriented in any direction of the space. The geometry of the gyrostat and the value of the gyrostatic momentum are relevant in order to get stable permanent rotations. Moreover, it seems that the necessary conditions are also sufficient, but this fact can only be proved partially.  相似文献

Under consideration is some class of linear systems of neutral type with periodic coefficients. We obtain the conditions on perturbations of the coefficients which preserve the exponential stability of the zero solution. Using a special Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, we establish some estimates that characterize the rate of exponential decay at infinity of the solutions of the perturbed systems.  相似文献

By treating the periodic Riccati equation ${\rm\dot{z}=a(t)z^2+b(t)z+c(t)}$ as a dynamical system on the sphere S, the number and stability of its periodic solutions are determined. Using properties of Moebius transformations, an exact algebraic relation is obtained between any periodic solution and any complex-valued periodic solution. The rotation graph, Gn, has vertex set consisting of all binary trees with n nodes. Two vertices are connected by an edge if a single rotation will transform one tree into the other. We provide a simpler proof of a result of Lucas that Gn, contains a Hamilton path. Our proof deals directly with the pointer representation of the binary tree. This proof provides the basis of an algorithm for generating all binary trees that can be implemented to run on a pointer machine and to use only constant time between the output of successive trees. Ranking and unranking algorithms are developed for the ordering of binary trees implied by the generation algorithm. These algorithms have time complexity O(n2) (arithmetic operations). We also show strong relationships amongst various representations of binary trees and amongst binary tree generation algorithms that have recently appeared in the literature.  相似文献

We obtain estimates for the attraction domain of the zero solution and establish estimates for the decay rate of solutions at infinity.
