In this paper we obtain asymptotic estimates of eigenvalues for regular Sturm-Liouville problems having the eigenparameter in the boundary condition. The method is based on an iterative procedure solving the associated Riccati equation and producing an asymptotic expansion of the solution in the higher powers of 1/λ1/2 as λ→∞. 相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the asymptotic behavior of the differential equation

We study the finite spectrum of Sturm-Liouville problems with transmission conditions. For any positive integer n, we construct a class of regular Sturm-Liouville problems with transmission conditions, which have exactly n eigenvalues, and these n eigenvalues can be located anywhere in the complex plane in non-self-adjoint case and anywhere along the real line in the self-adjoint case. 相似文献

We study the asymptotic behavior of the eigenvalues the Sturm-Liouville operator Ly = ?y″ + q(x)y with potentials from the Sobolev space W 2 θ?1 , θ ≥ 0, including the nonclassical case θ ∈ [0, 1) in which the potential is a distribution. The results are obtained in new terms. Let s 2k (q) = λ k 1/2 (q) ? k, s 2k?1(q) = μ k 1/2 (q) ? k ? 1/2, where {λ k } 1 ∞ and {μ k } 1 ∞ are the sequences of eigenvalues of the operator L generated by the Dirichlet and Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions, respectively,. We construct special Hilbert spaces t 2 θ such that the mapping F:W 2 θ?1 →t 2 θ defined by the equality F(q) = {s n } 1 ∞ is well defined for all θ ≥ 0. The main result is as follows: for θ > 0, the mapping F is weakly nonlinear, i.e., can be expressed as F(q) = Uq + Φ(q), where U is the isomorphism of the spaces W 2 θ?1 and t 2 θ , and Φ(q) is a compact mapping. Moreover, we prove the estimate ∥Ф(q)∥τ ≤ C∥q∥θ?1, where the exact value of τ = τ(θ) > θ ? 1 is given and the constant C depends only on the radius of the ball ∥q∥θ? ≤ R, but is independent of the function q varying in this ball. 相似文献

Sampling theory has been used to compute with great accuracy the eigenvalues of regular and singular Sturm-Liouville problems of Bessel Type. We shall consider in this paper the case of general coupled real or complex self-adjoint boundary conditions. We shall present few examples to illustrate the power of the method and compare our results with the ones obtained using the well-known Sleign2 package. 相似文献

In this study we derive the Gelfand-Levitan-Marchenko type main integral equation of the inverse problem for the boundary value problem $L$ and prove the uniquely solvability of the main integral equation. Further, we give the solution of the inverse problem by the spectral data and by two spectrum. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with the sampling theory associated with resolvents of eigenvalue problems. We introduce sampling representations for integral transforms whose kernels are Green's functions of singular Sturm-Liouville problems provided that the singular points are in the limit-circle situation, extending the results obtained in the regular problems.

The purpose in this paper is to compute the eigenvalues of Sturm-Liouville problems with quite general separated boundary conditions nonlinear in the eigenvalue parameter using the regularized sampling method, an improvement on the method based on Shannon sampling theory, which does not involve any multiple integration and provides higher order estimates of the eigenvalues at a very low cost. A few examples shall be presented to illustrate the power of the method and a comparison made with the the exact eigenvalues obtained as squares of the zeros of the exact characteristic functions.

A numerical technique is presented for the solution of a parabolic partial differential equation with a time-dependent coefficient subject to an extra measurement. The method is derived by expanding the required approximate solution as the elements of Chebyshev cardinal functions. Using the operational matrix of derivative, the problem can be reduced to a set of algebraic equations. From the computational point of view, the solution obtained by this method is in excellent agreement with those obtained by previous works and also it is efficient to use. 相似文献
