We point out some of the differences between the consequences of p-Poincaré inequality and that of ∞-Poincaré inequality in the setting of doubling metric measure spaces. Based on the geometric characterization of ∞-Poincaré inequality given in Durand-Cartagena et al. (Mich Math J 60, 2011), we obtain a geometric property implied by the support of a p-Poincaré inequality, and demonstrate by examples that an analogous geometric characterization for finite p is not possible. The examples we give are metric measure spaces which are doubling and support an ∞-Poincaré inequality, but support no finite p-Poincaré inequality. In particular, these examples show that one cannot expect a self-improving property for ∞-Poincaré inequality in the spirit of Keith–Zhong (Ann Math 167(2):575–599, 2008). We also show that the persistence of Poincaré inequality under measured Gromov–Hausdorff limits fails for ∞-Poincaré inequality.  相似文献

We present the best constant and the extremal functions for an Improved Hardy-Sobolev inequality. We prove that, under a proper transformation, this inequality is equivalent to the Sobolev inequality in RN.  相似文献

We give an extension of Hua’s inequality in pre-Hilbert C-modules without using convexity or the classical Hua’s inequality. As a consequence, some known and new generalizations of this inequality are deduced. Providing a Jensen inequality in the content of Hilbert C-modules, another extension of Hua’s inequality is obtained. We also present an operator Hua’s inequality, which is equivalent to operator convexity of given continuous real function.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove a good-λ inequality between the nontangential maximal function and the square area integral of a subharmonic functionu in a bounded NTA domainD inR n . We achieve this by showing that a weighted Riesz measure ofu is a Carleson measure, with the Carleson norm bounded by a constant independent ofu. As consequences of the good-λ inequality, we obtain McConnell-Uchiyama's inequality and an analogue of Murai-Uchiyama's inequality for subharmonic functions inD.  相似文献

Let M be a smooth connected manifold endowed with a smooth measure μ and a smooth locally subelliptic diffusion operator L which is symmetric with respect to μ. We assume that L satisfies a generalized curvature dimension inequality as introduced by Baudoin and Garofalo (2009) [9]. Our goal is to discuss functional inequalities for μ like the Poincaré inequality, the log-Sobolev inequality or the Gaussian logarithmic isoperimetric inequality.  相似文献

We prove a general optimal Lp-Euclidean logarithmic Sobolev inequality by using Prékopa-Leindler inequality and a special Hamilton-Jacobi equation. In particular we generalize the inequality proved by Del Pino and Dolbeault in (J. Funt. Anal.).  相似文献

The LYMinequality (Lubell, Yamamoto, Meshalkin) is a generalization of Sperner’s theorem for antichains. Kleitman and Harper independently proved that the LYM inequality and the normalized matching property (or local LYM inequality) are equivalent. Many contributions have been proposed to sharpen the LYM inequality. Noticeably, Ahlswede and Zhang lifted the LYM inequality to an identity, called the AZ identity. Thus, one expects that the same sharpening of the local LYM inequality is equivalent to the AZ identity. In this paper, we introduce a local LYM identity which sharpens the local LYM inequality and prove that it is equivalent to the AZ identity. The local LYM identity shows local relationships between components in the AZ identity.  相似文献

In this work we improve the sharp Hardy inequality in the case p?>?n by adding an optimal weighted H?lder seminorm. To achieve this we first obtain a local improvement. We also obtain a refinement of both the Sobolev inequality for p?>?n and the Hardy inequality, the latter having the best constant.  相似文献

By using the Φ-entropy inequality derived in [16] and [2] for Poisson measures, the same type of inequality is established for a class of stochastic differential equations driven by purely jump Lévy processes. This inequality implies the exponential convergence in Φ-entropy of the associated Markov semigroup. The semigroup Φ-entropy inequality for SDEs driven by Poisson point processes is also considered.  相似文献

A dual capacitary Brunn-Minkowski inequality is established for the (n−1)-capacity of radial sums of star bodies in Rn. This inequality is a counterpart to the capacitary Brunn-Minkowski inequality for the p-capacity of Minkowski sums of convex bodies in Rn, 1?p<n, proved by Borell, Colesanti, and Salani. When n?3, the dual capacitary Brunn-Minkowski inequality follows from an inequality of Bandle and Marcus, but here a new proof is given that provides an equality condition. Note that when n=3, the (n−1)-capacity is the classical electrostatic capacity. A proof is also given of both the inequality and a (different) equality condition when n=2. The latter case requires completely different techniques and an understanding of the behavior of surface area (perimeter) under the operation of radial sum. These results can be viewed as showing that in a sense (n−1)-capacity has the same status as volume in that it plays the role of its own dual set function in the Brunn-Minkowski and dual Brunn-Minkowski theories.  相似文献

We give a matrix version of the scalar inequality f(a + b) ? f(a) + f(b) for positive concave functions f on [0, ∞). We show that Choi’s inequality for positive unital maps and operator convex functions remains valid for monotone convex functions at the cost of unitary congruences. Some inequalities for log-convex functions are presented and a new arithmetic-geometric mean inequality for positive matrices is given. We also point out a simple proof of the Bhatia-Kittaneh arithmetic-geometric mean inequality.  相似文献

In this paper, we give an optimal logarithmic Sobolev inequality on Rn with Lipschitz constants. This inequality is a limit case of the Lp-logarithmic Sobolev inequality of Gentil (2003) [7] as p→∞. As a result of our inequality, we show that if a Lipschitz continuous function f on Rn fulfills some condition, then its Lipschitz constant can be expressed by using the entropy of f. We also show that a hypercontractivity of exponential type occurs in the heat equation on Rn. This is due to the Lipschitz regularizing effect of the heat equation.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss refinements of the well-known triangle inequality and it is reverse inequality for strongly integrable functions with values in a Banach space X. We also discuss refinement of a generalized triangle inequality of the second kind for Lp functions. For both cases, the attainability of the equality is also investigated.  相似文献

We prove the right Lax-type inequality on subarcs of the unit circle of the complex plane for complex algebraic polynomials of degree n having no zeros in the open unit disk. This is done by establishing the right Bernstein–Szeg?–Videnskii type inequality for real trigonometric polynomials of degree at most n on intervals shorter than the period. The paper is closely related to recent work by B. Nagy and V. Totik. In fact, their asymptotically sharp Bernstein-type inequality for complex algebraic polynomials of degree at most n on subarcs of the unit circle is recaptured by using more elementary methods. Our discussion offers a somewhat new way to see V.S. Videnskii’s Bernstein and Markov type inequalities for trigonometric polynomials of degree at most n on intervals shorter than a period, two classical polynomial inequalities first published in 1960. A new Riesz–Schur type inequality for trigonometric polynomials is also established. Combining this with Videnskii’s Bernstein-type inequality gives Videnskii’s Markov-type inequality immediately.  相似文献

We introduce a parabolic analogue of Muckenhoupt?s Ap class. We show that these weights satisfy a reverse Hölder type inequality and also prove a John-Nirenberg inequality for a related BMO type class. Both results are multidimensional generalizations of known one-dimensional results. As an application of our methods, we extend a two-dimensional weighted norm inequality of A. Lerner and S. Ombrosi to dimensions n?3.  相似文献

The two-level pressure projection stabilized finite element methods for Navier-Stokes equations with nonlinear slip boundary conditions are investigated in this paper, whose variational formulation is the Navier-Stokes type variational inequality problem of the second kind. Based on the P1-P1 triangular element and using the pressure projection stabilized finite element method, we solve a small Navier-Stokes type variational inequality problem on the coarse mesh with mesh size H and solve a large Stokes type variational inequality problem for simple iteration or a large Oseen type variational inequality problem for Oseen iteration on the fine mesh with mesh size h. The error analysis obtained in this paper shows that if h=O(H2), the two-level stabilized methods have the same convergence orders as the usual one-level stabilized finite element methods, which is only solving a large Navier-Stokes type variational inequality problem on the fine mesh. Finally, numerical results are given to verify the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

We establish the cyclic inequality for i-th L p-dual mixed volume and Lp-dual Urysohn inequality between p-mean width and Lp-dual quermassintegral. Moreover, the dual isoperimetric inequality for Lp-dual mixed volume is proved, which is an extension of the classical dual isoperimetric inequality.  相似文献

Here we prove a Hardy-type inequality in the upper half-space which generalize an inequality originally proved by Maz’ya (Sobolev Spaces, Springer, Berlin, 1985, p. 99). Here we present a different proof, which enable us to improve the constant in front of the remainder term. We will also generalize the inequality to the Lp case.  相似文献

In this paper we derive a simple inequality involving expectations of convex functions and the notion of G-majorization. The result extends a similar inequality of Marshall and Proschan (1965), J. Math. Anal. Applic. Useful applications of the more general inequality are presented.  相似文献

We consider integral functionals of a simply connected domain which depend on the distance to the domain boundary. We prove an isoperimetric inequality generalizing theorems derived by the Schwarz symmetrization method. For L p -norms of the distance function we prove an analog of the Payne inequality for the torsional rigidity of the domain. In compare with the Payne inequality we find new extremal domains different from a disk.  相似文献
