We prove that each 2-local derivation from the algebra Mn(A ) (n > 2) into its bimodule Mn(M) is a derivation, where A is a unital Banach algebra and M is a unital A -bimodule such that each Jordan derivation from A into M is an inner derivation, and that each 2-local derivation on a C*-algebra with a faithful traceable representation is a derivation. We also characterize local and 2-local Lie derivations on some algebras such as von Neumann algebras, nest algebras, the Jiang–Su algebra, and UHF algebras.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to so-called local and 2-local derivations on the noncommutative Arens algebra L ω(M,τ) associated with a von Neumann algebra M and a faithful normal semi-finite trace τ. We prove that every 2-local derivation on L ω(M,τ) is a spatial derivation, and if M is a finite von Neumann algebra, then each local derivation on L ω(M,τ) is also a spatial derivation and every 2-local derivation on M is in fact an inner derivation.  相似文献

In this paper we extend a result of Semrl stating that every 2-local automorphism of the full operator algebra on a separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space is an automorphism. In fact, besides separable Hilbert spaces, we obtain the same conclusion for the much larger class of Banach spaces with Schauder bases. The proof rests on an analogous statement concerning the 2-local automorphisms of matrix algebras for which we present a short proof. The need to get such a proof was formulated in Semrl's paper.

There exist spaces BSol(q) which are the classifying spaces of a family of 2-local finite groups based on certain fusion system over the Sylow 2-subgroups of Spin7(q). In this paper we calculate the cohomology of BSol(q) as an algebra over the Steenrod algebra . We characterize the maximum r-local index of a Schur algebra over an abelian number field K in terms of global information determined by the field K for an arbitrary rational prime, r. We study Auslander's representation dimension of Artin algebras, which is by definition the minimal projective dimension of coherent functors on modules which are both generators and cogenerators. We show the following statements: (1) if an Artin algebra A is stably hereditary, then the representation dimension of A is at most 3. (2) If two Artin algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type, then they have the same representation dimension. Particularly, if two self-injective algebras are derived equivalent, then they have the same representation dimension. (3) Any incidence algebra of a finite partially ordered set over a field has finite representation dimension. Moreover, we use results on quasi-hereditary algebras to show that (4) the Auslander algebra of a Nakayama algebra has finite representation dimension.  相似文献

A reducible representation of the Temperley-Lieb algebra is constructed on a tensor product of n-dimensional spaces. As a centralizer of this action, we obtain a quantum algebra (quasi-triangular Hopf algebra) with the representation ring that is equivalent to the representation ring of the Lie algebra. Let p be a prime number. This paper describes the primitive idempotents and prime spectrum of the crossed Burnside algebra of a finite group over a p-local ring. The universal enveloping algebra of a Lie algebra acts on its representation ring R through D(R), the ring of differential operators on R. A quantised universal enveloping algebra (or quantum group) is a deformation of a universal enveloping algebra and acts not through the differential operators of its representation ring but through the quantised differential operators of its representation ring. In the present Note we construct the Weil representation of the Kantor-Koecher-Tits Lie algebra g associated to a simple real Jordan algebra V. Afterwards we introduce a family of integral operators intertwining the Weil representation with the infinitesimal representations of the degenerate principal series of the conformai group of a Jordan algebra V. Nelson and Stinespring proved that in any unitary representation of a Lie group with compact Lie algebra the representation of Hermitian elements in the enveloping algebra are essentially self-adjoint. We prove that an integrable system solved by the quantum inverse scattering method can be described by a purely algebraic object (universal R-matrix) and a proper algebraic representation. For the quantum Volterra model, we construct the L-operator and the fundamental R-matrix from the universal R-matrix for the quantum affine algebra Uq(ŝl2) and the q-oscillator representation for it. Thus, there is an equivalence between an integrable system with the symmetry algebra A and the representation of this algebra. Auslander’s representation dimension measures how far a finite dimensional algebra is away from being of finite representation type. In [1], M. Auslander proved that a finite dimensional algebra A is of finite representation type if and only if the representation dimension of A is at most 2. Recently, R. Rouquier proved that there are finite dimensional algebras of an arbitrarily large finite representation dimension. One of the exciting open problems is to show that all finite dimensional algebras of tame representation type have representation dimension at most 3. We prove that this is true for all domestic weakly symmetric algebras over algebraically closed fields having simply connected Galois coverings.  相似文献

Certain p-local orders in n-dimensional division algebras over the rational numbers occur as endomorphism rings of torsion-free abelian groups of rank n if and only if an associated finite poset P has a strict faithful representation of dimension less than |P| over the field with p elements.
