提出并制造一种新颖的椭圆芯中空光纤,采用热极化方法使其具有高二阶非线性,可用作相位调制器。该光纤在300℃温度、大于1×108 V/m强电场和9cm有效电极长度条件下热极化30min后,产生大的线性电光相移。基于双椭圆芯中空光纤构建一种纤内马赫-曾德尔干涉仪,通过观察干涉条纹的移动来评估相移,最终得到1.16pm/V的高二阶非线性系数和0.52pm/V的线性电光系数。该技术具有简单、灵活的特点,可以用来制作高电光系数器件,降低制作成本,并能进一步提高全光纤器件的集成度。  相似文献

The lossless dielectric waveguide of circular cross section with an index of refraction greater than its surround supports trapped modes in addition to two subclasses of leaky modes: refracting and tunnelling modes. Refracting modes leak because their fields are formed by waves that undergo refraction at the core-cladding interface. Tunnelling modes leak because their fields are formed by waves that undergo a form of electromagnetic tunnelling at the core-cladding interface due to the curvature of its cross section. Tunnelling modes have a very slow leakage compared to refracting modes and are therefore important for the understanding of propagation in multimode, optical waveguides of circular cross section.  相似文献

The effect of quantum interference from incoherent pump field on the Kerr nonlinearity of V- and Lambda-type three-level systems is investigated. It is found that enhanced Kerr nonlinearity can be obtained via quantum interference of incoherent pump field. It is also demonstrated that the enhanced Kerr nonlinearity is located in the reduced-absorption region. The enhancement of Kerr nonlinearity is attributed mainly to the presence of extra atomic coherence induced by quantum interference from incoherent pump field.  相似文献

提出里兹-伽略金方法的一个近似或改进,即里兹-伽略金方法仅仅用来得到梯度型光纤的传播常量和纤芯中的模式场.包层场用修正贝塞尔函数以及已经求得的两个参量:包层径向衰减常量和场在纤芯-包层界面上的值重新构建.计算结果表明包层场准确度的改进是相当显著的,将这一近似方法应用于计算两根光纤之间的耦合系数,其结果与准确值几乎没有办法区分.  相似文献

In this contribution we report on an optical nonlinearity featuring colloidal seeded grown CdSe/CdS nanorods (NRs). It consists of a photoluminescence (PL) blueshift of single rod spectra with increasing laser power and a transient, power-dependent redshift of the spectra studied by time resolved PL measurement, strictly related to the multicarrier scattering occurring at high excitation density. We attribute this nonlinearity to a photo-induced screening of an internal field, originating from the piezoelectric polarization induced at the core/shell interface.  相似文献

The sucrose concentration measurement and characteristics of light coupling taper structure on sensitivity with various fabrication processes of taper structure for all-fiber Mach–Zehnder interferometer (AFMZI) are presented. Using fusion splicer with electrical discharge, the standard single-mode fiber is employed to be fabricated as conical coupling/decoupling taper structure. The basic two fabrication processes are designed as single fusion-stretching (SFS), multiple fusions without stretching (MF). The third advanced process is composed of SFS and multiple fusions without stretching processes, and called multiple fusions with single stretching (MFSS). Various types of coupling/decoupling taper structures were fabricated based on the three kinds of fabrication processes. The effects of geometry shape including taper waist, taper angle, and sensing length on sensing sensitivity of AFMZIs are estimated. The modifications of fiber core and cladding induced by thermal effect affect the refractive index distributions and shapes of taper structure. The effects of refractive index changes of fiber core and cladding on sensing sensitivity are also discussed. The AFMZI was tested by measuring aqueous sucrose solution of refractive index unit (RIU) from 1.333 to 1.420 RIU. The optical spectrums are measured by a spectrometer. The spectrum dip shifts and sensing sensitivity was measured and calculated, respectively. As shown in results, sensing sensitivities of AFMZIs of taper structure fabricated by MFSS and multiple fusions without stretching processing are generally higher than SFS. The reasons could be aimed on materials modification through thermal effect on blurring fiber core-cladding interface and proper taper angle of taper structure. The more homogeneous refractive index distribution on fiber core-cladding interface, the more detecting light power decoupled through core-cladding interface to interact with exterior environment and enhance the sensing sensitivity. Similarly, an appropriate taper angle also provides a better coupling/decoupling performance. The optimal sensitivities relative to low refractive index, high refractive index, and full refractive index range are 87.62, 133.55, and 104.20 nm/RIU, respectively, and the corresponding sensing length are 30, 50, and 30 mm, respectively, with taper angle of 25° and taper waist of 40 μm.  相似文献

A theory suitable for the interpretation of measurements of light scattering from cladded multimode optical fibres is presented. The model used is based on geometrical optics and enables the effects of depolarization, the angular distribution of the propagating beam, as well as refraction and reflection at the core-cladding interface to be taken into account. A fibre optic sensor capable of discriminating between temperature and strain, using a single fibre Bragg grating, is presented. The technique exploits the core-cladding mode coupling of a tilted fibre Bragg grating (TFBG). The core and cladding modes exhibit different thermal sensivities, while the strain sensivities are approximately equal. Monitoring the core-core mode coupling resonance and the core-cladding mode coupling resonance of the TFBG spectrum allows the separation of the temperature and strain induced wavelength shifts.  相似文献

考虑耦合介质存在交叉克尔非线性的情形下,研究了交叉克尔效应对耦合双谐振腔中二阶非线性诱导透明的影响.首先给出了描述体系理论模型的哈密顿量,再通过对海森堡-朗之万方程进行线性化,得到了探测场的透射率,进而得出系统的吸收和色散关系.研究结果表明,在交叉克尔非线性强度较小时,可忽略其对诱导透明的影响;随着交叉克尔非线性强度的增大,诱导透明窗口宽度随之快速变窄.此外,吸收曲线中还出现了双吸收峰.进一步增强交叉克尔非线性,导致原本出现的诱导透明消失,并在新吸收峰处产生了新的诱导透明,新的诱导透明的吸收零点位置随着交叉克尔非线性增加而向左偏移.这些结果可能在不透明介质的窄窗口光传输和提高光学腔的性能方面提供一些参考.  相似文献

This study broadens vibration-like techniques developed for osseointegration monitoring to the nonlinear field. The time reversed elastic nonlinearity diagnostic is applied to two mock models. The first one consists of tightening a dental implant at different torques in a mock cortical bone; the second one allows one to follow glue curing at the interface between a dental implant and a mock jaw. Energy is focused near the implant interface using the time reversal technique. Two nonlinear procedures termed pulse inversion and the scaling subtraction method, already used successfully in other fields such as contrast agents and material characterization, are employed. These two procedures are compared for both models. The results suggest that nonlinear elasticity can provide new information regarding the interface, complementary to the linear wave velocity and attenuation. The curing experiment exhibits an overall low nonlinear level due to the fact that the glue significantly damps elastic nonlinearity at the interface. In contrast, the torque experiment shows strong nonlinearities at the focus time. Consequently, a parallel analysis of these models, both only partially reflecting a real case, enables one to envisage future in vivo experiments.  相似文献

It has been shown that S-polarized surface polaritons can propagate along the interface between two media with saturated nonlinearity. The profile of the wave amplitude has a maximum in one of the contacting media. An expression has been obtained for the wave field amplitude at the interface. 以界面势垒对碳纳米管(CNT)场发射的影响为研究目的,在硅衬底上引进很薄的二氧化硅层,以二氧化硅层作为绝缘势垒,然后在二氧化硅界面层上直接生长CNT,来研究二氧化硅绝缘势垒层对CNT场发射的影响。场发射结果为:Fowler-Nordheim(F-N)曲线分为两部分,高电场下偏离F-N曲线并趋于饱和。在双势垒模型的基础上,从电场在两势垒上的分布不同及电子在两势垒上的隧穿几率不同,理论上分析了界面势垒对场发射的影响:低电场下电子在界面势垒的隧穿几率大于在表面势垒的隧穿几率,界面势垒对场发射不起阻碍作用,场发射遵守F-N规律;高电场下电子在界面势垒的隧穿几率小于在表面势垒的隧穿几率,场发射偏离F-N规律。理论对实验结果进行了合理的解释。  相似文献

对折射率剖面非均匀的少模光纤Bragg光栅(FM-FBG)的反射特性进行了数值仿真,研究了光纤侧面紫外曝光法制作的光纤光栅中饱和长度的影响.用试射法(shooting)数值求解了耦合模方程,得到FM-FBG的反射谱.仿真结果表明,在纤芯和包层边界的最大光致折射率变化量和纤芯吸收因子不变的情况下,随着纤芯折射率变化的饱和长度的增大,LP01和LP11模间的互耦合反射峰呈抛物线形变化,当饱和长度增大到一定值后,互耦合反射峰随饱和长度的增大而逐渐减小并最终消失;同阶LP模的自耦合反射峰随饱和长度的增大而增大.  相似文献

Superstructure fiber Bragg gratings constructed following the Fibonacci sequence are proposed and simulated by using the transfer matrix method. The reflection spectrum has a multi-fractal structure as a function of the wavelength and is symmetric to the center. The reflectivity has self-similarity and scaling with respect to the Fibonacci sequence order at the central wavelength. For the transmission spectrum, the interaction of the core-cladding mode is investigated and the particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied are located by varying the grating parameters. The potential application of the quasi-periodic structure as fiber sensors is also proposed.  相似文献

利用互易定理推导了考虑直达波和界面反射波时半空间分层界面上任意取向偶极子在上半空间远区辐射场的解析表达式. 进一步考虑电偶极子距离分界面为某一高度情形, 在考虑直达波和反射波程差基础上导出相应辐射场公式. 辐射场解析表达式中分层半空间TM和TE波反射系数可以通过连分数方法或传播矩阵法计算获得. 本文推导过程物理概念清晰, 所得解析结果适于计算观察点远离界面情形下偶极子的远区辐射场. 数值计算结果表明, 利用本文结果可以快速分析半空间上方任意取向偶极子的远区辐射场.  相似文献

The analytic surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) dispersion relation is studied in a system consisting of a thin metallic film bounded by two sides media of nonlinear dielectric of arbitrary nonlinearity is studied by applying a generalised first integral approach.We consider both asymmetric and symmetric structures.Especially,in the symmetric system,two possible modes can exist:the odd mode and the even mode.The dispersion relations of the two modes are obtained.Due to the nonlinear dielectric,the magnitude of the electric field at the interface appears and alters the dispersion relations.The changes in SPPs dispersion relations depending on film thicknesses and nonlinearity are studied.  相似文献

We investigate the surface roughness of polycrystalline silicon core optical fibers fabricated using a high-pressure chemical deposition technique. By measuring the optical transmission of two fibers with different core sizes, we will show that scattering from the core-cladding interface has a negligible effect on the losses. A Zemetrics ZeScope three-dimensional optical profiler has been used to directly measure the surface of the core material, confirming a roughness of only ~0.1 nm. The ability to fabricate low-loss polysilicon optical fibers with ultrasmooth cores scalable to submicrometer dimensions should establish their use in a range of nonlinear optical applications.  相似文献
